Save us from Embarrassment: Mt. Healthy levy fails and like all government is asking for more

Doc Thompson covered the results of the debt ceiling increase on 700 WLW the same day that President Obama signed the bill which passed the house late in the night, the senate early in the morning and arrived on the president’s desk a half hour later. While all this was going on Doc contemplated the winners and losers about a deal that essentially does nothing but allow the government to increase it’s debt to 16 trillion from the 14 trillion it is now, which amounts to a joke suitable for a comedy club.

The same day the debt ceiling was increased voters went to the polls for local school districts asking for more money, Mt. Healthy being one, which went down to defeat. Before the ink was dry on the newspaper announcing the headline all over Cincinnati, Mt.Healthyadministration officials were declaring that they would try again in November of this year!

This has left many of us scratching our heads, what don’t the Mt. Healthyofficials understand about the voters rejecting the levy? Isn’t that a clear sign to the district that the residents have sent a clear message to cut their spending? Yet the district like a bunch of mindless ants only know how to do one thing and that’s ask for more money.

At Lakota we are getting ready to defend ourselves from yet another levy increase when it has been made clear that the residents do not want to increase their taxes. It has been established that the source of the problem of all these school districts is that the teachers unions have taken way too much money from the community to pay their salaries which are extraordinarily high. At Lakota the average teacher makes over 60K a year. That’s the average!

Nobody is asking teachers to make low amounts of money, but by any scale anything over 55 K per year is a good living, and a teacher should be happy with a reasonable living, especially if the tax payers are being required to pay for it off their property. But the trouble is that the teachers unions force dues upon their teachers, and other costs are deducted from their paychecks without the teachers consent. The NEA is taking money from its members to re-elect President Obama, and in Ohio the OEA is taking money away from teachers to help repeal S.B.5 this November. So the real income of a teacher isn’t quite as high as their salary because they have these political deductions coming out against their will.

More and more often I am getting notes like the one below from teachers who desperately want to see reform and they want out of their unions. They want to see the school boards have the teeth to solve their financial problems and they don’t support the politics of their union, however, if they want to work as a teacher in the state of Ohio, they HAVE to be in the union. And the unions continue to drive up the cost of education using their members as a shield and revenue stream to fulfill a political agenda which they place on the backs of the property owners.

I am a teacher, and I would give anything to not be a member of the union. I am so sick of them. They are hijacking children’s education and tying it up in endless bureaucracy, squabbling over funds that don’t exist. Unions served their purpose, but now federal labor laws have covered what rights the unions once fought to protect. Now my rights are being violated when I am forced to join (and pay, which is all they care about). It is a complete scam, a giant monopoly of power, and completely counterproductive in this period where transition to new models of education is key if we want our children to be competitive globally.

(Oh, AND SCRAP TENURE. Terrible system that stagnates positive growth.) I don’t want to secure my own job by throwing kids under the bus. If I’m not good enough, I should be fired, plain and simple. The idea of protecting yourself from hostile workplace politics is not enough of a pro to save that outdated concept.

The trouble with schools and the trouble with the federal government are the same. They are all built on a model of Keynesian economics which has turned out to be a scam, and the people who have supported this economic theory have egg on their faces. They insist on more “revenue” which is just a fancy word for “taxes.” More revenue, more TAXES is the only way the Keynesian economists which fill the rank and file labor union leaders and politicians with great abundance can save themselves from the embarrassment of financial failure.

That’s what we’re dealing with here, it’s a complete failure of political and economic philosophy that has been tried, and has failed. And it’s embarrassing. That’s the sum of the entire situation.

What tax payers at all levels are being asked to do is to save these people, who were taught and believe all the wrong things, the embarrassment of facing the music which they have played upon our culture. By throwing money at these situations these advocates of higher taxes hope to delay the ramifications of their failure to a future time when maybe they won’t be present to accept the blame, where the burden will be transferred to some unfortunate public servant onto a generation that is still playing with toys and watching Nickelodeon on TV.

To those of us who know better, who never believed the merits of Keynesian economics the answer is obvious. Costs must be brought in line to live within the budget established by the community. In the case of schools, it’s the wages that are inflated and encompass every teacher of a district and the union monopoly which have driven up those wages that are the problem. The union middleman option is simply too costly to a district. At the Federal level it’s the entitlement programs which were created to buy bloc voting sectors to gain political power that is causing all the trouble, and all these parties are now caught in the lie they have built their entire lives around, and it’s time for someone to face the music.

When any school district or politician asks for more “revenue” what they are really asking is for you to bail them out of the embarrassment their own actions have created. And they expect you to bail them out at your own expense. How does that make any sense, when the proper thing to teach our young people is that if you make the wrong decisions in life, you must face the music and change direction? Not look to others to bail you out of your trouble so your feelings won’t be hurt, because such a position is not only expensive, it’s detrimental to the human condition, which is evident in the ideological positions of all who want a tax increase.

How out of touch are these people? Listen to Harry Reed, majority leader of the Senate; ask if he can go home to care for his fig tree. That’s the mentality we’re dealing with.

The Wisdom of Darryl Parks: What congress and the senate don’t want you to know

It was nice to see that Gabbie Gifford was able to make a vote on the house floor for the epic vote on raising the debt ceiling, but in the back of my mind there was something wrong with the timing and ceremony of the whole affair. I didn’t want to admit it to myself, because I don’t want to believe that Congressman Gifford would participate in such a thing, but it seemed to me that Gifford’s return to the house was designed to take the edge off all the fighting that had been going on in congress about whether or not to raise the debt ceiling, and whether or not there would be “revenue” involved.

Such a thought actually makes me feel bad, to question the honesty of congress. I’m sure in her case she has probably wanted to come back for a while. But it was her friends in the house who probably “encouraged” her to return for this big vote in order to show “unity” to the American people. The games of politics are nasty and costly, but I think the treachery and manipulation that these people are capable of has been dramatically underestimated, and based on what I know now about their activities, I would not put it passed congress to attempt to use Gabby Gifford to help make the American people forget about how ugly business in government truly is. When I think such things I wonder if I’m the only one who sees it, that is until I hear Darryl Parks talk on 700 WLW every Saturday morning from 9 AM to 11. While all this government ugliness was unfolding over the weekend I was on my way to The Annie Oakley Festival and had the opportunity to listen to Darryl on my hour and a half trip to Darke County,Ohio. Darryl Parks thinks much the way I do about most things, so it was refreshing to hear him speak with incredible clarity about our nation’s problems as the summer sun began to heat up the day of that momentous broadcast. I think this particular broadcast was so good, and so historic that it deserved over an hour of transition over to podcast for the convenience of those who haven’t heard it, or to be listened to again for those who did hear it and want to listen again. So do yourself a favor and hit PLAY on the link below. Grab a snack and sit back and listen with the clarity of hindsight, now that the crisis has been averted for the moment, and marvel at the wisdom of Darryl Parks.

Politicians have been a joke for a number of years and culturally we have dismissed them as irrelevant aspects of our lives. Seldom if ever whether it be a Looney Toons cartoon from the 30’s and 40’s, or a film, television show, or novel, is a politician portrayed in a trustworthy manner. It is universally accepted that as a group, politicians are deceitful, life-sucking aspects of our society who have virtually no benefit to our culture. They make rules that we all have to live by, and they make decisions that cost us money. Yet we listen to the same speeches every election cycle and hope that somehow things will be different with the next politician. Then we act surprised when we find out that politicians have enriched themselves greatly while working in public office. This is the gist of what Darryl was talking about, how can a politician like Mitch McConnell get rich as a politician? Or how does Barack Obama becomes a millionaire between the years of 2004 to 2008 while he was just another senator? The answer is they are making deals, and benefiting from insider trading, many of the conditions they create legislation to help along, a practice that should be illegal, but isn’t because it is the law makers committing the crime who would have to create the law.

Many politicians I believe start their public careers with good intentions, where they really want to help. But the money and power available to them is just too lucrative and they quickly turn to corruption for that age-old pursuit of financial security. There are always exceptions of course, but as a general rule in a governmental body that depends on majority rule, if a majority is corrupt, then the body itself is also corrupt, and that is the case with our general government.

I listened carefully to the complaints of politicians on both sides of the political spectrum as the debt ceiling issue came to a close. They are grossly out of touch insisting on even more money to support a political system that is obviously full of thieves. Those thieves don’t consider themselves looters of course, because they are the law. They see themselves as citizens who deserve the highest respect for their service to their country, but by their actions they are simple thieves, seeking for themselves plunder at the expense of the people they represent no different from a pirate.

You can learn a lot by watching people under duress, and America learned a lot about its politicians as the debt crises unfolded. The demand for more “revenue,” a term used to disguise the real meaning which is “taxes,” from the voting population as a way to manipulate the situation to their advantage from a public guilty of trusting them, rang out from many politicians like drug addicts crying for another hit of “speed.”

The level of corruption and financial addiction has shocked even me, a long time big government skeptic. I did not know it was this bad, I simply suspected as much. But the proof is there for all of us to see. We have a big problem in America. We have to rethink the whole political process and the kind of people we want to fill those seats.

We know the enormity of the problem because the vote that just occurred over the debt ceiling increase amounts to nothing. It solves no problems, it still allows government to spend more than it takes in, and the solution of these parasites is just to send more money to them to cover the gaps. Yet there is praise among the thieves and much back slapping going on for all those law makers are proud of themselves and they cheered in unison when Gabby Gifford came to the chamber and changed the story in the media from a “combative congress finally passes a vote,” to “Congressman Gifford cast her first vote since her tragic accident.” And the nation looked at the image of Mrs. Gifford waving her hand to the crowd, collectively all the fights of the last week dropped away from the memory of voters in favor of the more pleasant story of Gabby Gifford’s amazing recovery.

While all this was going on the thieves took a deep breath of relief as the media attention focused on the recovering congressman and allowed them to scurry away to the cracks they all hide in to figure out some way to spin the situation to their advantage, and attack those darn “tea baggers,” “talk radio hosts,” and “TV personalities” who are telling the public all about the scam they have been employing for decades.

Yet the whole structure is supported by the “revenue” that Americans give those thieves, so we are guilty of subsidizing criminal activity knowingly. After this episode and the information available to the American public if they allow it to continue, they are guilty of a real crime, not one created by corrupt law making politicians, but one of the moral code of the human race, where we are supposed to treat each other fairly, and with honesty and not with the heart of a predator in favor of a life of respect and valor. Because if that’s the case, then all those corrupt politicians are accurate representatives of the demons which reside inside each and every voter, which makes us all guilty in the eyes of the universe.

Thank goodness people like Darryl Parks gets it…………what’s wrong with everyone else?

Philanthropy in Public Schools: More Tax Money Needed to save the WORLD!

These days as our kids run about for decades as lost souls trying to achieve escape velocity from their upbringing, to establish themselves as individuals, all too often they end up doing all the same things in an attempt to be “unique.”

Each and every one of them believes “they” are on a path nobody else has ever been on as they get tattoos, color their hair, spike their hair in the latest European fashions and spend their weekends pursuing binge drinking……………why?

Because they all learn from the same place, public education, television, and music.

Public education is the maestro of the three primary influences and has embedded itself between the modern parent and the child in such a way that they have exacerbated the difficulties of raising a child by infusing a lot of needless “social” commentary into the process of education. Taken from the pages of Saul Alinsky’s writing, many teachers have sought to advance social agenda’s they received in college, and attached them to the natural rebelliousness of youth to propagate a vast social movement funded entirely by tax dollars.

Most every youthful person says the same things when asked about social causes, in spite what their parents might believe, because public education has created that wedge using the parent’s tax dollars as the platform. See my article about Chick-Fil-A here for more on this topic:

To those who wish to argue with me and proclaim that I’m being too far-reaching with this topic examine the case below, where Roger Grein under the guise of goodness has overstepped the fine line of what public education is supposed to teach, and what is the parent’s responsibility. Roger thinks he should use high schools to launch young people on a quest for philanthropy, which is a desire to improve the material, social, and spiritual welfare of humanity, especially through charitable activities. In other words, the proposal is that schools should teach altruism.

Altruism is an attitude or way of behaving that is marked by unselfish concern for the welfare of others. This is a concept that has been tried through religion and politics for over 4000 years and is built upon the ruined foundations of western philosophy. All cultures who embrace altruism end up extinct or hiding in some mountain passage someplace avoiding a more aggressive culture, so the merits of altruism are debatable. Altruism is explored explicitly in the book Atlas Shrugged, which I’m beginning to think should be required reading in 8^th grade English class along with Alan Eckert’s The Frontiersman and until Ayn Rand put those thoughts down on paper for the world to study along with Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle, and the works of writers like Sir Thomas More, the evils of altruism had not been properly explored, only recklessly promoted.

This brings us to this ridiculous notion that philanthropy should be taught in a local high school by teachers over-stepping their boundary, on a quest to save the world by some hippie definition established by kooks and drug addicts who only studied the versions of philosophy that they agreed with. According to the article below, Roger Grein believes it to be a wonderful thing to teach compassion, and high moral principles to the ripe young minds of public education. Check it out:

Program teaches philanthropy to high school, college students

Youth decide how to make charitable donations to groups.

CINCINNATI — An area non-profit organization is assisting high school students throughout the Tri-State in not only giving to charity, but learning more about the spirit of philanthropy and social causes.

Magnified Giving, a non-profit organization based in the Cincinnati suburb of Reading, enters its fourth year of teaching students to become philanthropists through placing the decision of what charities to donate funds to upon the shoulders of students.

The program, originally conceived 10 years ago at the college level by Roger Grein, a Reading accountant, allows students and teachers in 15 area high schools to form Youth Grantmaking Councils charged with dispersing a grant of at least $1,000 to area charities.

Seeing success with the program at area universities — including Miami University — is what instigated Grein to take it to area high schools.

“I thought ‘My God, what a wonderful idea to educate and get young people involved,’ ” Grein said. “Look at the lives it could touch.”

The charity the council decides to donate the funds to is determined by students researching area non-profits, examining proposals, visiting organizations and meeting with boards of directors, said Jen Senett, director of marketing and communications for Mount Notre Dame.

“Students break up into teams and take on a different social cause, such as children, the elderly or teen issues,” Senett said. “Each team pitches it to the group why the nonprofit organization deserves the grant money and chooses the one that will make the biggest impact.”

Reading the comments of Mr. Grein, I would propose that he is functioning from a level of immaturity as a human being, and has no right to teach any child anything about life. He may be qualified to teach a child about arithmetic, or English, but not on the philosophy of social welfare.

Any military drill sergeant knows that the best way to create a good soldier is to break down the individual identity of the candidate right off the bus. Cut their hair, give them a uniform, and make them just like everyone else in their group. Insult them aggressively, driving their individual ego’s from their youthful bodies so they will function as a collective unit on the battlefield, without a sense of self preservation. But in society a sense of self is needed.

Is it any accident that millions of our young people are missing a sense of self confidence which would prevent them from drug abuse, binge drinking, sexual mis-adventures, financial misconduct, altering their bodies with piercings and tattoos, or even suicidal behavior if they were taught that they must love themselves before they can love another?

Often behind these teachers of altruism you find a person who has trouble with relationships in their own lives, where they’ve been divorced one or more times, or they don’t get along with family members, or neighbors because they believe only they are right and are on some ideological crusade to “teach” the world to love under the hippie sign of “peace.” I know many of these people, I’ve met them at all levels, especially in education and I personally would not trust these idiots to watch my dog while I go on a weekend trip, let alone pour a bunch of half-baked nonsense into a child I’m raising.

But worse yet, school systems are openly embracing these ideas such as what Mr. Grein has proposed. The article above was written in our community paper after all as if it were a great benefit to all tax payers that their children would be taught to give to others before they gave to themselves. And these are the type of programs that schools believe are “preparing” our youth for their college years, that place of social engineering who charges parents 50K to 100K to teach their children to not trust their parents. Schools teach these social programs as justification for the enormous sums of money they are asking for in public education from property owners.

When a young man sits across from a young woman over dinner and says “I love you,” what does the word “I” mean? If the young man has no concept of self, then what merit does the word “I” have in that statement? What is a young woman supposed to build her life around if she agrees to marry the boy who thinks he’s going to tackle the world and start a family with her under the profession of the word “LOVE” defined by the qualifier “I.” For the love has no meaning if there is no value in the word “I.” This is why marriages are failing more and more often, and this is why more people than ever are making a mess of their lives, because they have lost a sense of self worth. And they try to fill that lack of self-worth with social causes, which never really do the trick, but leave the participants on a lifelong quest for world peace to give their meaningless lives justification. And the people they provided philanthropy to become addicts, dependent on the services of philanthropy instead of building in themselves a sense of value to propel them into their own lives of freedom, valor, and personal conviction.

And all the while, our human race paid for our own demise yet again by pouring money into the pockets of people like Mr. Grien, who because they lack personal worth seek to live through others as our tax money fuels the enterprise of our social undoing, all because society did not understand the philosophy of their age and listened to all the wrong people who advocated all the wrong approaches to human relationships. Because there are other works of philosophy that should be looked at also, and one of those is the second most looked at book in the Library of Congress behind the Holy Bible, and that is Atlas Shrugged.

It’s all in the book Atlas Shrugged, the rise and fall of civilization built upon altruism. It is far easier to read it than to waste your life in the pursuit of philosophic failure advocated by a radical few, yet funded by all of us, because the value of the proclamation wasn’t fully understood by the tax payer.

American Air Supremacy: But do we have the courage to keep it?

Zero’s Kates and Vals appeared over the crowd as explosions went off everywhere in the blistering July heat. The heat index was 115 degrees on the runway and the sun was relentless as the roar of World War II piston engine craft filled the sky with an unmistakable pulse. The re-enactment of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was underway by a group of stunt pilots flying restored fighters in a pyrotechnic reminder of just how badly governments of the world have desired to extinguish the power of personal liberty known as the United States. The show known as Tora! Tora! Tora was just one of the many shows displayed at the 2011 Vectren Dayton Air Show, but for me it was the best because of my love of piston engine aircraft. I’ll have to give Michael Emoff (Chairman U.S. Air and Trade Show Board of Trustees) credit; the seats from The Chairman’s Club were as good as it gets for a show of this magnitude. The catered food all morning and into the afternoon was wonderfully refreshing, as was the constant supply of 6 different beer selections. But the truckloads of bottled water were essential, and made the show a comfortable success. I cannot argue that the entire show took place in my lap from that vantage point, and it was a delightful endeavor. On the other side of the fence, the massive hoard of a crowd packed in close to see the action, and it looked hot over there, with no room to breathe for many people.

The Chairman’s Club is a section set up for exclusive guests and many in the aviation business comfortably packed the tables in front of the gigantic mess hall tent, which did lower the temperature considerably with its high vaulted ceilings that allowed the hot air someplace to go, and to cool. It was a good design. The ice cream prior to the Thunderbirds show was a nice touch even if it did melt in a matter of minutes. As is the custom, many of the pilots and parachutists come to The Chairman’s Club to refresh after their portion of the show and meet some of the guests who help put their planes in the air. It is a chance for both sides of the aviation business to meet each other up close and personal. I told one of the guys who had drug his parachute into the area to repack after he had landed just moments after falling from 16,000 feet, “Bet you wish you were still up there.”

He looked at me and laughed, “It’s about 50 degrees up there. It’s a scorcher down here.” Sweat dripped off his forehead as he folded his pack over tightly.

The F/A-18 pilots came and took turns taking pictures with many of the GE employees present. For many of them it was a moment of pride to see the Super Hornet’s take off from the tarmac and go almost instantly vertical. The clouds dotting the sky prevented long runs at the airstrip, so the F/A-18’s kept their speeds under the speed of sound, but the vibration and roar of those F414-GE-400 engines brought a line of high level employees to the pilots when they showed up for some relief from the heat and to provide the customary pictures and autographs.

It was obvious that even from the pilots faces that The Chairman’s Club was an oasis upon that landscape of blistering heat that was closest to the flight line and the first stop to recharge their bodies.

But even with all the high performance displays of the F/A-18’s, the Thunderbirds in the F-16’s, The B-1B Lancer with its 30,780 pounds of afterburner thrust, the fantastic modified stunt plane by Oracle called the Oracle Challenger, specially built for Sean D. Tucker and his fantastic aerobatics with jaw-dropping stunts, it was the World War ll era fighters that I found the most attachment to.

There was a Corsair in the air which set my mind back to the heroics of Tex Hill, after Hill completed his tour of duty with General Clair Chennault and the Flying Tigers over China. There was a B-25 Mitchell that I’ve always loved, the sound of the 2 Curtiss-Wright Twin Cyclone engines pushing out 1,700 hp each punching the air with American brutality. It was the B-25 that made up the 16 bombers who took off from an aircraft carrier to bomb Tokyo five months after Peril Harbor on a mission known as The Doolittle Raiders. I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with this plane during the show which I included in my video because of the distinctive sound of its engine. The plane is the prototype of what would become the fantasy of The Millennium Falcon in Star Wars, and it’s a favorite of mine. It was the display of Tora! Tora! Tora! That captured my attention the most.

During that re-enactment of the bombing of Peril Harbor the planes flew in multiple trajectories, crossing each other in complicated ways through smoke and explosions. Many of the planes made bombing runs 20 to 30 feet over the runway multiple times, which was impressive. A reminder of what governments are capable of cannot be ignored when anybody attending this air show can witness firsthand the power at play through the machines of aviation in defense of freedom.

America without any question invented aviation, and that birthplace was Dayton, Ohio, which gives the Dayton Air Show added meaning. It was the Wright Brothers who using good-ol’ America horse-sense invented flight with a kite like plane built on the principles of a bicycle. It was the bravery of people like Chuck Yeager, Tex Hill, The Doolittle Raiders and Howard Hughes who pushed what flight could accomplish in war to advance aviation to the levels seen in this show. Case in point, the B-2 Bomber made an appearance; it took off from Arizona that morning, arrived at preciously the correct time just a few hours later in Dayton. It made two passes of the air field blasting its engines on the second pass, then heading to Peoria, Illinois for another air-show just 45 minutes away for that craft, on schedule of course. The B-2 would then land back at its home base, it’s pilots home in time for dinner after traveling all over the United States in the course of the day. The B-2 is the culmination of years of bravery and technical innovation. It is evident when attending air-shows like this, that if an enemy of the United States wanted to attack America, like the Japanese did at Peril Harbor, and the Soviet Union attempted to do in the space race economically, and failed, that the heart of America, the spirit that advanced aviation to the modern levels of the B-2 bomber would have to be removed. No country in the world can compete with the United States because of America’s development of aviation.

If one cares to understand the mind of the enemy, and America will always have enemies, they will read what the enemy does. The most recent is the radical Islamic elements in the middle-east, those old empire builders of the Persian Empire who still despise America for its role in dividing up the Middle East after the Treaty of Versailles, or the Chinese communists who fought America in Korea through support of North Korea, and Vietnam with Russian support. There is no question that in many palaces and luxury meeting rooms all across this world the topic comes up, “How do we get rid of America.” It is clear in the Sun Tzu classic, which I personally studied for over 10 years, The Art of War, that the best way to destroy your enemy is by prevailing over those who have already lost. That is the essence of that classic piece of literature which is currently studied aggressively by Chinese and Japanese military, government and business leaders. And the way to beat America is to convince Americans to strap themselves down in debt, so they do not have the money to spend on their wonderful aviation and technological development.

The Space Shuttle Program just ended. Under the Obama administration NASA along with the Joint Strike Fighter have both been targeted for elimination because America has spent itself into catastrophe, and is no longer making investments into aviation like it has over the last century, culminating into the B-2 Bomber.

The F135 Joint Strike Fighter has also hit the chopping block, at least it’s back-up GE/Roll Royce engine. It is easy to see who America’s enemies are because they are against the construction of this next generation aircraft.

It is interesting to hear what people on the political left think are appropriate in debating budget negotiations. Listen to this simple-minded person talk about the budget battle taking place, and what is appropriate in that conflict. Obama and his people are big union supporters, and Lockheed Martin, GE and most in aviation that are behind the Joint Strike Fighter are giant unions, yet there are many who subscribe to the theories of cutting defense spending and NASA to pay for the destructive entitlement programs created by politicians to purchase votes. Those same people believe that the right thinks just as devious as the left. They are all off the mark in my opinion, but aviation to me expands America in every possible way, and should not be negotiated with by either side as some type of bargaining chip. Everyone wins in aviation no matter what the political affiliation left, right or middle. The only losers are other competing countries.

What is the RT? That’s an English-speaking progressive channel that stands for Russia Today. That’s why the temperature in Moscow is listed in the bottom corner. They are a propaganda arm of modern Russia, and if you think they don’t still have a grudge against America, they were one of the few countries to not accept the full title of the recent Hollywood film, Captain America.

As I watched the Dayton Air Show it was apparent to me that many of the enemies of America are now attempting to destabilize the United States not with stealth weapons, or even spies. They are trying a much more sinister weapon called progressivism, which is designed to lower American defenses, drain our wealth and keep us from spending money on the kind of technology on display at the air show, because the enemies of the United States cannot reach that level of technology. All they can really do is corrupt our youth into becoming lost adults who don’t remember Pearl Harbor or people like Tex Hill.

Progressives are attempting to inspire the youth culture to live aimless lives with an un-heroic pretense. Those enemies will do everything they can to topple the United States from the inside out, because that is the only way they can rule the planet, and their respective portions of the world. For now, they’ll use the United Nations for their own agenda, but once America is gone, and the money it puts into supporting world peace with it, the tyrants will have a new day and chance at spreading their tyranny across the face of the plant.

How can I say such a thing? Entertainment is always a great measuring stick to the values of a culture who produces it.

In some future air show, people will attend and wonder how a civilization who built such fantastic ancient machines like the Joint Strike Fighter, and the B-2 Bomber simply disappeared and stopped the technological advances that America seemed poised to create.

As I watched the F/A-18F pilots stand with a group of people in The Chairman’s Club under the elite protection of all the elements present, the people who build the planes and the pilots who fly them, I wondered how many of those people really understood the fight that was really happening outside those protected confines, out beyond the crowd of burnt up citizens scanning into the heavens at the fantastic aerial display going on in the sky, or the small children buying toy air planes from a vender proudly holding the toys as if they were treasures more valuable than gold, because the toys themselves represent power, and freedom. Who among anybody really understood the games being played and the stake of the games, which with all the proud patriotic celebration of the past that the future is in such jeopardy, did anybody really know?

I don’t believe many of those people out of the thousands around me really put much thought into it. As long as the beer was cold, the catered chicken and beef cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were immaculate, the politics of the day were other people’s problem. The air show was to be enjoyed and once over, we would all return to our VIP parking spots right outside the fence and be on Highway 75 before most of the other people would be headed to the vast parking lots packed with cars over a half a mile away. And of all those masses, the focus was on the past, at what we had done in that past both distant and recent. But the future is in jeopardy if that same American spirit that put those planes in the air does not survive the peril of progressivism, given to the United States from foreign enemies by spies and double-agents using the long proven instructions spelled out in Sun Tzu’s, The Art of War.

Learning what a Republic is: The Continued Lessons of Star Wars

I could not help but notice at my favorite book store that many of the works that I used to only find online, are now in stock, on the shelf. Work by Thomas Paine, John Locke, and all the works of Ayn Rand are easy to find, and this is fantastic news because people are hungry for knowledge. The Federalist Papers are even now stocked on the shelf in abundance. Ten years ago it was only law students who bought copies of it, now it’s an older man in his upper 60’s as I watched him thumb through it’s pages prior to purchase.

Political discussion is often not just about the topics on the nightly news. Recently, a friend of mine gave me a copy of The Original Argument, which was endorsed by Glenn Beck as a way to explain in today’s language the meaning of The Federalist Papers. I enjoyed The Original Argument so much that I read it twice while on vacation recently, and it occurred to me that The Original Argument was not a rule book so to speak intended for lawyers, but it is a political philosophy that speaks a truth established by 4000 years of human history. It does not belong in the political science section in a book store, but in the philosophy section.

But as a friend of mine uttered in frustration the other day, “what are we to do about all this!” The frustration of thinking all their lives that everything was OK in the world, and that politicians were sleazy, but not considered downright evil, and finding out that in fact there are many things that have been going on that people are just learning about because they are reading again, can be very overwhelming. Catching up on 200 years of American history in the span of a year or two like many Tea Party enthusiast are doing can send a person to burn out quick. So it’s important that people remember to have fun along the way. It’s even better if people can learn while they are having fun. Fans of Glenn Beck will notice that Beck is an obvious Star Wars fan. It will also be noticed that there are a lot of Tea Party patriots who are increasingly creating Twitter accounts along the lines of “Jedi Patriot” and “Empire Fighter” in an obvious homage to Star Wars. In our modern age, Star Wars has become a form of modern philosophy, not just simply entertainment. Star Wars is a great way to think about all the things that are going on in the world around us, while also taking a vacation from the intensity of those revelations. After all, the film The Phantom Menace was not about a young boy who grew up and became Darth Vader. That is just one of the sub plots. The Phantom Menace was all about a senator who wants to be emperor, and he uses many people in obscure ways to create the circumstances that will allow him to grab power for himself. It’s all in good old-fashioned fun, but the sincerity behind The Phantom Menace is actually incredibly sophisticated, which is the genius of Star Wars.

The films of Star Wars consist of only 6 two-hour movies and that is what a majority of the fans think of when they hear the name of Star Wars. But for fans who wish to dig deeper, Star Wars tackles many of the problems of our modern times using the language of mythology and the latest entry to that mythology is the MMO computer game called The Old Republic due out later this year and it’s something my wife and I are looking very much forward to.

Glenn Beck uses Star Wars metaphors to explain many of the complicated topics of our day because Star Wars is the only work of art in modern times which attempts to tackle the complicated nature of human failure and evolution as a species. Star Wars is a basic tale of good and evil, but it goes much deeper. What is even bolder within this Star Wars mythology is this whole new path the franchise is taking in exploring The Old Republic. There are now two novels and two videos games with the addition of the computer game being previewed here, which explores what life was like in The Old Republic which takes place over a thousand years before the events shown in the films most people are familiar with. The idea of the Sith, the villains in Star Wars is to explore the influence of evil and this is done not just in a spiritual way in these stories, but also in a political way. It is the first work of art that I can think of which has mass appeal that attempts to do anything like this. It does not limit itself as an examination of religious influence, or political study, but as an all-encompassing investigation through the story lines of what causes the rise and fall of civilizations.

I am a fan of the works of writers like Thomas Mann and his Magic Mountain, and Oswald Spengler’s The Decline of the West, and I will state in that context the collected works of Star Wars are every bit as sophisticated and meaningful. In Star Wars the entire galaxy is part of a republic. Not a democracy, but a republic. This is similar to what planet Earth is facing in whose political philosophy will emerge as the world shrinks, will it be a republic like what the United States has had so much success with, or will it be various degrees of socialism similar to what Europe and many eastern countries have experimented with.

The most important contribution is that in the galactic government of Star Wars, it’s a republic that is pursued, and provides an interesting model for how Earth should proceed. It is the Republic of the United States of America that should teach the rest of the world how to be a free people, produce their goods under the umbrella of capitalism, and interact with one another with respect under that accepted philosophy.

What gives me hope is that Star Wars is the best education device that young people have to counter what they are learning in public education, and politicians who crave socialism where the philosophy of a republic is not taught to them. It is entertainment that is providing the best education to society, and because of the popularity of Star Wars it is evidence that many people are learning about it.

Glenn Beck understands that Star Wars is a modern work of political philosophy and science. When people who love freedom want to know how America is supposed to function, books like The Original Argument are fantastic. But it cannot be disputed that free life will always stay within the confines of the United States borders. As the evidence of illegal immigration have shown, millions of people all over the world want to become a part of the Republic of the United States and we owe it to those people in America to help not just open our borders to them, but to expand the freedom we experience to those far reaches of the globe so that there can be a grand Republic of Earth. And to get an idea of how to do that, Star Wars is the best work of art available to help show how that process should look, and what type of hurdles will stand in the way, so that freedom can be experienced by anything that breathes world-wide.

So before going crazy, choking on all this information that has always been there, but is being re-discovered, it is good to have a device that can give your mind a vacation. For me, it’s a love of pirates, and Star Wars. Star Wars allows the mind to swell without limits without becoming lost in the fantasy. And I look very much forward to the age when the kids who are growing up with this expanded universe of Star Wars start to run the country, because that is a time when things will dramatically change for the better, because they will understand that America is a republic and not a democracy and the only hope the entire world has for freedom.

Me………..Too Hard on Cops: The buffoons of politics

The people who have read my early draft of Tail of the Dragon, my new book due out in 2012 all have had a common reaction, “Great story, but wow, you really hate cops!”

No, it’s not that I hate cops. I hate politics, and police officers enforce the law of politicians. I see many of the laws that are currently on the books in any city, state, or federal ledger to be simple work creation measures designed to give law makers something to do, a way to justify the enormous amounts of money we pay them in public office. Sometimes, the police that are hired to enforce, “the law” have legitimate claims to danger such as bank robberies, drug busts, and armed confrontations. But most of the time and we all know this, police offers don’t have a whole lot to do, so they become the minions of the bloated politician and the rules they have created who have lost all common sense. Case in point, the video below is of a group of young girls who want to raise money to go to a water park by selling lemonade. The police shut down the stand because it is against “the law.”

The permit process is largely created under the guise of authenticating an endeavor. The original thinking is that if people will take the time to get a permit, then some measure of control can be enforced by whoever issues the permit, and that is for the public good. But like all things in politics, permits have become a cash cow and a form of abuse culminating into complete breakdowns of rationality, such as what happened to these poor little girls.

But it doesn’t end there. Police are law enforcement created to enforce the law. They are not law contemplators. They take orders like blind machines and do not question the authenticity of their superiors. If a law is bad, they have no opinion. If a prosecutor or some other law-maker wants to twist the wording of a city ordinance for their own ends, then the police can be called in like a private army to wreck the lives of whomever is at fault, whether those at fault are even aware of their illicit deeds. Because nobody can claim ignorance to the law, even if the wording is something you think you understand. If the prosecutor “interprets” the wording differently than you do, then you will be in court to battle out the definition and case-law will be created off your case. This is the situation with the woman in this next video; she is building an organic garden under what she believes to be the law. But a politician looking to make a name for himself doesn’t like it, so he is shutting it down, or trying to.

A common occurrence in dealing with any large organization private or public is that accountability is often less enforced because of the sheer number of people employed. This makes dealing with them a real problem especially when a mistake is made on their end. In the video below the homeowner went to jail and lost everything because of a bank error and it was the police who showed up and put him in jail. Because the interpretation of the law almost always favors lawmakers and those lawmakers are closely tied to those who give them campaign donations for their elected office, the police can be made to completely serve the needs of those with power.

Meanwhile it is all of us who pay taxes that fund the entire enterprise. We are funding our own demise.

Without some sort of check’s and balance system which is what court is supposed to be, the law will grow itself out of control. Small ordinances created with good intentions will shut down the lemonade stands of little girls trying to learn to become entrepreneurs, or people participating in self-reliance by growing their own food. Or homeowners who get stuck trusting the system and being caught in the middle of an error, spending the weekend in jail and having their assets seized while a bunch of public employee buffoons try to figure out what to do and how to cover up their mistake. It is the police that these public officials use to perpetuate their activity. We are headed toward this type of situation which can be seen in Greece, where secret police dressed in plain clothes are able to arrest people from the crowd, because “the law” states it’s for the public good.

So is my story, the Tail of the Dragon anti-cop. No. But it does question the validity of law enforcement and the entire process from which law is created and then used against the tax payers who paid for it. All too often what we discover in any reasonable investigation is that the law was used to make somebody wealthy, and law enforcement was there like a personal army to advance the strategic position of those in power to gain an advantage over those they seek to crush.

Police are needed to some extent to keep some order in the world. But how much is too much, and what power should they be given? For me, as a general rule, if a cop has time to sit on the side of the road and pull people over for speeding, or for not having on a seat belt, then that is one cop too many. If that is all that officer has to do but harass the public for more money, then we are wasting our money on that employee. Because it’s such people who will come to your house to arrest you for some run-in with the law, whether it’s your child setting up a lemonade stand, or you not growing in your front yard what the politicians think you should be, or worse and most likely, you’ll find yourself in the middle of a bank error. It will be the cop who’s doing nothing on the side of the road who will be on call to serve the needs of corrupt politics, and the scam is ultimately on you, the tax payer. Because it was you who put that cop on the street to begin with, with a great salary, and attractive pension under the watchful care of a public sector union, the FOP, which is so closely tied to politics they might as well be the same thing. No, I’m not too hard on the police in my book.

TAKE AWAY THE CREDIT CARD OF CONGRESS: Yes, Obama actually blamed the current congress for the debt crises

I started my Saturday morning like almost all of them, at 4:30 AM where I catch up on my reading, emails, news I missed, etc. My daughter sent the a picture she took of herself before she and her friends went to see the new Harry Potter film on Thursday. In the picture she is magically levitating all her favorite things, the mask her mom and I gave her from the Yucatan, a can of Coke, a toy of Yoshi, and her XBox controller. Her picture was intended to be fun but it made me think of President Obama, how he seems to believe that everything can be solved with the wave of some magic wand. I spent some time reviewing material from a friend of mine in Ann Arbor, Matt Clark who does a radio show on WAAM and was hitting some very good points on his podcasts about the federal problems with the debt limit, which can be heard below. Then Darryl Parks of 700 WLW really impressed me with his dead-on take of the same situation. I mean he nailed the situation precisely! Listen to that here:

It told me to watch a video that President Obama did several months ago where he was sitting down with a group of students to explain the merits of compromise. In that video I saw a man who shows what he is really good at, being a teacher. And that’s where he belongs.

What is happening in that video is The White House is trying to do damage control to the mess the President has created for himself. They dusted off a video from a few months ago where the president is very likeable, and speaking honestly, and they released it today to build him up politically so he can establish consensus against the Republicans in this most recent budget battle. What the video, and blog post is in essence is more of the same kind of politics that have buried this nation in debt with smoke and mirrors and side-show acts. The facts cannot be ignored with emotion, which is what The White House is attempting on the heels of the very arrogant press conference given by the President yesterday.

Did he really say that? Obama at the beginning of the press conference below said that congress had run up the credit card so the debt ceiling needs to be raised? What congress is he talking about, because that debt hasn’t been ran up in the last 6 months? How misleading…………………………

President Obama wants to raise taxes on the rich and he thinks that he is one of those “rich guys.” Twice in the President Obama’s speech Friday, July 15, 2011 he stated in his official statement regarding the debt ceiling negotiations “A person in my position,” as though the wealth he has he created himself. He thinks he is equal to all the job creators out there who actually take risks with their money to create an industry. There is a vast difference between a well paid politician like Obama, and a job creator, and he doesn’t understand that difference.

This tendency of politicians to believe that they are “special” in some way, or even equal to people who actually create jobs is preposterous. At Hollywood parties, which tend to lean toward the left politically, people like Steven Spielberg and Jeffery Katzenberg usually donate large sums of money to the presidential campaigns of people like Obama. And what they pay for with their donations is the ability to be close to the President. They get to sit up close in fund-raisers, and they get to shake hands with him, and usually get a picture taken with him.

Back in the 90’s Bill Clinton used to rent out the Lincoln Bedroom to his celebrity friends as a way to raise money for the DNC. The cost of that access is expensive. The problem is the White House is not the Presidents to sell, especially for political reasons. It wasn’t under Clinton, Bush, or Obama. The White House is the people’s house, and we let the President live there while they do the countries business.

One of the problems in America is this tendency of the rich and powerful, to desire to be close to a powerful politician. This doesn’t make any sense. Because the rich and powerful like Spielberg and others who create things from nothing, and employee thousands and thousands of people with their efforts are different from the politicians, and under no circumstances should have to pay to see their elected representatives.

America goes wrong by letting Presidents like Obama think they are royalty of some sort. When powerful people pay money to see a President something is wrong.

Could President Obama produce a film like Transformers? Could President Obama run a manufacturing facility? Could he even make payroll for the employees who count on him to make good decisions for their livelihood. No.

Obama should be the one to pay to see people like Spielberg. President Obama doesn’t make anything, he doesn’t do anything. He doesn’t even make decisions. Why do we honor him by throwing money in his direction? What does he have of any value but the title of President?

How valuable is the title of President?

It’s not valuable at all. It’s ceremonial, but otherwise virtually worthless. Politicians do not create jobs. Presidents don’t, governors don’t, no senators or congressman, none of them do. They are simply managers hired by the public to manage. They are not leaders. They are not lords, or elites. They are certainly not royalty. Anything they do make they take from a tax payer. It is not “they” who make it. It is someone else. The politician simply gives it away.

It is laughable that Barack Obama thinks that somehow he is equal or even superior to the other wealthy people he is calling for to pay the taxes he wants to increase. How hard is it for Barack Obama, who gets paid to do a management job, to ask for more money? The money comes easy to people like Obama now that he’s president. And like a lot of politicians, they have lost touch with reality because real money makers throw money at politicians hoping for a legislative favor later. That is because the politician has the power to legislate, to create new rules.

Those new rules are often the kind we don’t need. The politician makes legislation to pay back his contributors. Where the process fails is that the politician believes that there is value in their legislation. They begin to believe that they actually produce something, which of course they don’t.

Nobody should be idolized who creates nothing. Yet this is the culture of politics. When you shake the hand of one of these creatures, they almost seem to expect you to kiss their hand. They all sound like Barack Obama when he says, “I’m one of the elites. I’m willing to make the sacrifice. I’m not asking people to do anything I’m not willing to do myself.” They are willing to make that sacrifice because they didn’t earn the money to begin with. Everything they have has been given to them by someone else and they are like spoiled children who arrive at adulthood without a concept in their brains of the value of anything, because everything came easy to them.

It is easy for such valueless people to insist on more taxes because for them, all they have to do is agree to let Steven Spielberg take a picture with them and they generate millions of dollars. What they forget is that they are no different from the parent who pays money to have their child take a picture with Santa at Christmas, or the Easter Bunny. They are just props of authority that have symbolic meaning. They are employees in a costume and that costume can be taken off and put on another without the children being any wiser.

The President of the United States does not have a right to demand taxes for the rich. Nobody can even make a case for why tax payers should fund the current level of government. I’m looking for a tax cut, not a tax increase. How is the President taking money from me and giving it to some program that supports his political base my responsibility. That’s theft. All this talk about people paying their “fair share” is coming from the type of people who have no value and steal money from people to begin with, then tell us that the richest of all must pay more…………….for what reason, to pay for what? Medicare fraud, Social Security retirement benefits when the age of retirement is going to be going up for my generation to 70 perhaps 80? To pay for a Department of Education that is a complete waste of money, or an EPA that is driving up the cost of energy, a Department of Justice that is abusive and is picking winners and losers? What about the FCC who is advocating Net Neutrality. Why would I want my hard-earned money spent on any of that government waste? Why is supporting that waste my responsibility in paying my “fair share?”

Only a person who has no value for anything can make such requests. And President Obama is such a person. He’s a token representative of the same value as the guy we hire to play Santa Clause at Christmas time. The trouble starts when Santa starts believing that he actually lives in the North Pole and can circle the globe in a single night giving everyone presents. President Obama is suffering from his own delusions believing that he has such power and it is sadly revealing to hear him speak with an attempt at authority. Why doesn’t someone tell him he’s wearing the clown costume and is in a circus, and he’s only being laughed at. Because he doesn’t seem to know that’s what he actually is. He at least needs to understand the occasion that he’s entertaining for. Because his idea of raising taxes in even the slightest degree belongs in a carnival with the rest of the scams of a summer time festival complete with cotton candy, popcorn and hot dogs.

I hate to rub it in, because a lot of people in the establishment do not like John Kasich, who is the current governor of Ohio. But you balance a budget doing what he has done, granted he’s not very popular, but then again most real managers aren’t.

It doesn’t take magic, it just takes guts, and the will to do the hard things even when they may be unpopular, or hurt people’s feelings. The nation needs politicians to do what we hired them for, and that’s to manage the government, not think about how they can keep a job on the gravy train to the carnival.

Liberty Twp Tea Party Turns Two Years Old: The Rise of a New Guard

The evening July 11,2011 sun beat hard upon the converted barn at the Niederman Farm where the Liberty Twp Tea Party met to celebrate their 2^nd year. There have been a lot of battles over the last couple of years, and as we gathered for the pot luck dinner it was evident that there would be a lot more.

As this meeting was taking place Obama and the local Speaker of the House John Boehner were battling over the budget and the debt ceiling. Obama is approaching the negotiations as though various sides, Tea Party Republicans, moderate Republicans, Rhino Republicans, Blue Dog Democrats, Progressive Democrats, and far left radical Democrats all are committed to 100% of their particular positions, and must be prepared to give a little so everyone can agree. As I scooped up some potato salad that my wife had made I wondered how a person like Obama could ever become president and even say such a thing. There’s only one right answer, and the president is missing it. There isn’t money for the programs his party have given away to buy votes. That’s the bottom line folks. All those various politicians have for years purchased votes using our tax money, and now those fools are stuck trying to explain why they’ve bankrupted the system.

The people around me at this gathering are all there for the same reason, we recognize that the government has let us down and taken the nation on a path it doesn’t want to go. Not everyone has come to that realization yet, because they still hope that somewhere, there is a magical golden egg that will be laid by some golden goose. Increasingly, these elected representatives are being seen not as leaders, but as con artists and thieves who have stolen from each of us and sold us back bath water claiming it to be an elixir of life.

While the various ceremonies of this event were going on the Lakota School System was voting for yet another school levy attempt literally right down the road, not more than 3 miles from our location. In this meeting, everything that is wrong with the government can be seen in the microcosm of public education funding. Public sector unions, politicians using their education support for votes, and school administrators hoping to use school boards as a political launch pad to become noticed by leaders of one of the two parties have bought into Keynesian economics, like the rest of the government, and they were wrong.

When John Keynes introduced his Keynesian economics model from the ever-increasing socialist tendencies of the rest of the world, politicians saw an opportunity to exploit that model for their own accents to public supported power. Keynes was wrong, and every system using it is failing, including schools. The correct answer is not more of the same theory, but something else completely. In schools, the task is to convert over to that system without destroying the opportunities of the kids and parents who support the school. But in education, just like all things in government, the prices of labor, of the services created by labor, and the revenue which supports the entire foundation are artificially inflated, because competition is not allowed to kill off the waste, because government protects those enterprises. This drives up the costs everywhere for everybody. And presidents like Obama and school boards like what we have at Lakota, only know to close that inflated value with increased taxes. They can’t understand any other option because their brains are not wired to accept anything else.

At Lakota they are going for a tax rate that is less than what they’ve asked for in the past. This is consistent with President Obama’s comments to Speaker Boehner, “You can’t get everything you’ve asked for.” In the minds of these people bending a little on their political position is what the process is all about.

But it’s not. There is only one right answer, not a mixed drink of many tastes. With something like a budget deficit whether you’re talking about a local school district, or a Federal government, there is a way you got there, and to get out, you must do the opposite of what put you in that position. That’s the only way. If you spent a lot of money-making political promises that you didn’t have the authority to commit the tax payers to, or you are a school district that allowed a public sector teachers union to drive up your labor costs recklessly, then you have to admit that you were wrong, that you spent money that wasn’t yours just as a person addicted to gambling must admit that they have a problem before they can get help. You can’t throw more money at the addict, because they’ll never get better. You have to take away their money so they can’t go to the casino anymore to throw away our money on some jackpot they hope will fix all their problems.

As I sat among friends and family I thought about the worst issue in the news of them all, and that’s the case of the murdered little girl in Florida, the Casey Anthony trial where the mother appears to have accidentally killed her little girl with an overdose of chloroform and drove around Florida with the body in the trunk for everyone to smell the decomposing body. The girl was a reckless young woman, and the prosecution went for the death penalty for the severity of the crime. Last week, Casey was found not guilty; the jurors didn’t have the inner compass of morality to be able to pass judgment on a peer. Society has lost their ability to judge.

Most have anyway, except for the people having diner in a country barn with me on that hot July evening. Of American society, these people who the radicals advocating Keynesian economics, progressive global government without borders, and idealists who have never found their way out of the soviet fueled radicalism of the 60’s, those people call my friends here “teabaggers.” “Teabaggers, meant to be a term of peer pressure, of insult, an attempt by those who are advocating evil openly, to keep society functioning with their eyes closed and hope that somehow their failed theories will somehow come true in the final hour, and if they don’t, they’ll be remembered for their compassion, and not as the thieves they truly are.

I feel privileged that after two years, the Liberty Twp Tea Party is still here, and it’s growing. And it refreshes the soul to partake in these events, as the aroma of barn yard animals and community prepared food mixes in a unique waltz of perpetuity. Because this is how it was in the beginning, and this is the way of the American, to always be ready for a fight, to roll up the sleeves and eat well before a hard day’s work, or the battle that looms on the horizon. Because only by the path of those in this barn, is the path to liberty and freedom. And the only right answer in the entire nation is present on the tongues of those in attendance, because they are the last of their kind and Americais waiting for them to fix the nation that has been hijacked by tyrants of good intention.

Obama, Keynesian Economics, and Public Labor Unions: Lakota Schools try for another levy

John Boehner In a statement released by the Ohio Republican Saturday night — just a day before talks with President Barack Obama — Boehner said the “White House will not pursue a bigger debt reduction agreement without tax hikes.”

Tax hikes………………….the only way out for groups of politicians who have promised, and promised, and promised so much to so many, yet know they do not have the money to pay it back without more taxes. For those types of politicians the English economist John Maynard Keynes provided them with a way to loot money from the public in the appearance of good will, and still purchases political power for themselves. About the same time another economist named Friedrich Hayek came on the scene to refute Keynesian economics and this battle has been going on for nearly 100 years.

That video is a very clever way to articulate the two economic theories. Here is a bit more about these two economists at an economic conference. There was a time in the 70’s, when Jimmy Carter had used Keynesian economics to spiral the nation out of control, that Keynes was dismissed as relevant. Ronald Reagan had used the philosophy of Hayek to resurrect the economy in the 80’s with Reaganomics, much to the dismay of Keynesian fans who are typically Democrats and Progressives.

It is these two economic theories that are at play in these recent school battles where public schools claim to be broke and believe that spending is the way to improve education, solve all social problems, and maintain an infrastructure of expanding government by teaching into the very young the principles of Keynesian economics, submission to authority, and the role of big organized labor in the fabric of social engineering. So it comes as no surprise that on this day of July 11th 2011, the Lakota School District, the 7th largest district in the state of Ohio and one of the wealthiest decided to put another levy on the fall ballot. Being an institution of education structured by their labor unions around a Keynesian economic model, the school board understands nothing else. They have as a district done exactly what the federal government has done on a national level, and that is spend themselves into oblivion leaving tax hikes as the only way out.

It’s funny that Hayek doesn’t get any respect in these videos because in real life he doesn’t, even though his economic theories are proven more relevant, and far superior. The reason for the lack of popularity of Hayek is that politicians don’t like him. Politicians looking for a vote like to give things away in order to buy those votes and Keynesian economics provide them with the excuse to do so. Public schools are absolutely no different. Schools give away college electives, busing, and school sports in a political trade for an endless supply of tax revenue to support their Keynesian economic views.

This is the reason a school district like Lakota believed that if they spent $50K on a search for a new superintendent, and then paid that superintendent $165K per year over the assistant superintendent who was making only $105K per year, that they would have success in balancing their budget deficit. The school administration believes that if they spend more money, they will automatically get better results.

This belief system of course comes from the union labor influence, where they purposely take advantage of not just the administrator’s economic ignorance in matters such as these, but also the tax payers. Unions are big government advocates who subscribe religiously to the Keynesian model. Hayek’s economic theories are a severe threat to them.

Schools are currently facing a bust cycle, because the cost of education is artificially high. Facing this bust cycle in Ohio, Governor Kasich signed Senate Bill 5 into law to help school boards deal with this natural cycle and still maintain the level of education services that are needed for our society to function. This has drawn national attention from of course President Obama who is very friendly to union labor and Keynesian economics. Over the 4th of July holiday the NEA (National Education Association) voted to pass a $10 tax on their union members to support the Obama reelection bid.

This isn’t just happening on a national level; in Ohio the OEA (Ohio Education Association) is mandating a $50 fee from all its members to fight Senate Bill 5 in order to raise 20 million dollars to repeal S.B.5 in November. Firefighters are demanding $100 from their own members. All that money comes from the taxpayer indirectly. Artificially high wages for these public sector jobs makes fees of this kind feasible to be used against the tax payer in lobby power purchased from these massive public union memberships and that’s a big problem.

What the unions are doing, and Obama is perpetuating in his refusal to deal with the Republicans demands to cut spending, is trying to prevent the natural bust cycle that is facing the nation by throwing more money, (our tax money) at the situation to maintain the promises they have made to themselves and their members for decades.

The average teacher at Lakota makes over 60K per year, which is much more than the tax payers who pay their salaries. This is justified by state law citing that various degrees obtained by teachers in the state of Ohio must be compensated accordingly. It does not matter that the residents of Lakota do not need kindergarten teachers who have master’s degrees, and are being paid by the community for those degrees even though the market cannot support such concepts. The union lobby using membership funds have shaped the law to suit their Keynesian economic model which is a severe flaw that is detrimental to anyone who pays taxes.

So again, our community will be in for another fight against the Lakota School System as organized labor have embedded themselves into our politics so deeply that they can dictate what type of economic strategy our elected officials use to deal with the financial realities of our times.

The difference between now and in the past, where the NEA, the OEA and presidents like Obama and many other progressives have pushed Keynesian economics to satisfy their political deals, is now people are learning about the tricks that have been played on us all for many years. The millions of dollars of lobby power, the fear mongering that money spent equals success, the strikes to artificially drive up wages, all that is coming to a close because people are learning.

And my response to this recent attempt by Lakota to pass yet another school levy when the tax payers of the district are already heavily taxed, just as we are nationally, it is the expectations that must be attacked, and will be exposed heavily in this next campaign which I look very much forward to fighting this fall. The fight is over a failed economic theory by Keynes and the economic intelligence of Hayek. That battle is underway and there will be a lot of broken hearts in the meantime, but the fight must be fought because without the fight, there will be no tomorrow as we know it or expect it. Depending on the victor of this battle tomorrow may or may not be left to our decisions. And I will fight this battle on the side of Hayek!

Good luck Lakota, you’re going to need it!

Progressive Roots: The liars are calling the truth a lie, which is normal

Progressives don’t know history, nor do they care about it. All they seem to understand is that their bellies are full by some mysterious event called a job, which they seem not to know anything about how the jobs are created, just that they are there. Like ants when they realize that a human being has just accidentally crushed a nest they had spent a lot of time building, progressives are seeing their dreams established by Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Second Bill of Rights, erode away. Van Jones has been hired by some of those ants to attempt to hold their dream of America together.

These ants are now fluttering about in frantic fury, attempting a new way to present their old message as millions of Americans are beginning to finally reject the infestation that the progressive has created into the fabric of the United States.

Labor unions rooted in socialism and progressives trying to create a European Utopia, as envisioned by Sir Thomas More 1478-1535, have planted so many seeds into the United States quietly, that many people just blindly accepted that all these big government desires were the way it was always supposed to be. More was an English politician, humanist scholar, and writer who refused to comply with the Act of Supremacy, by which English subjects were enjoined to recognize Henry VIII’s authority over the pope, and was imprisoned in the Tower of London and beheaded for treason. His political essay Utopia (1516), speculates about life under an ideal government. More was canonized in 1935. Progressives love Thomas More. Notice that he was canonized during this progressive period where in the United States; Franklin Roosevelt was imposing his own form of Utopia on America through the New Deal. It was in this spirit of More, that progressives sought to rebuild society. 400 years later, the man who had been imprisoned and killed in England was suddenly a hero.

FDR had no right to impose on America his New Deal. Roosevelt endorsed numerous new federal programs and agencies to reduce unemployment and restore prosperity, resulting in increased government involvement in the lives of Americans. The intent was good, and at the time, people wanted the relief. Yet this was a moment that the United States Constitution was trampled with disrespect. It is this America that is being destroyed because it was a false America to begin with, brought to us by a president who was playing with socialism, but calling it, “The New Deal.”

(2) The stock market crash of 1929 marked the beginning of the Great Depression. Unemployment increased and economic security was threatened. Farmers lost their land, workers lost their jobs, and many Americans lost their savings as thousands of banks closed. Campaigning on promises of a new deal for the American people, Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt won the presidential election of 1932.

Upon taking office in 1933, Roosevelt immediately supported a flood of new legislation. Laws established federal inspections and insurance for banks and mandated regulations for the securities market. Several bills provided mortgage relief for farmers and homeowners and offered loan guarantees for home purchasers. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) employed thousands of young men, while the Agricultural Adjustment Act helped raise agricultural prices. Congress established the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to develop the Tennessee River region. The National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) provided for a vastly expanded public works effort and a program to regulate American business.

Hopes for early recovery proved illusory, and a second flood of legislation began in 1935. Sometimes called the Second New Deal, its measures included higher taxes for the rich, strict regulations for private utilities, subsidies for rural electrification, and what amounted to a bill of rights for organized labor. Guided by Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins, the National Labor Relations Act gave workers federal protection in the bargaining process and established fair employment standards. The federal Fair Labor Standards Act mandated maximum hours and minimum wages for many workers. The Social Security Act of 1935 created a retirement fund, unemployment insurance, and welfare grants for local distribution (see Social Security). After 1937 opposition to extending the New Deal mounted, and by 1939 public attention had become focused on foreign policy and national defense.

The New Deal expanded the role of the federal government— particularly in economic regulation, resource development, and income maintenance— and created a number of agencies that remain in existence. Although the New Deal failed to stimulate full economic recovery, it helped the government develop policies to limit the impact of later recessions. Where Roosevelt left off in domestic policy, trampling all over the U.S Constitution, Lyndon Baines Johnson picked up.

Johnson (1908-1973), 36th president of the United States (1963-1969). He became president on November 22, 1963, hours after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Texas. Johnson’s domestic program, which he called the Great Society, was an extension of the New Deal enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1930s and 1940s.

Within three months the new president had the satisfaction of seeing a new civil rights bill pass the House and a new tax cut bill get through the Senate. In February he asked for two further measures: a law to protect consumers from unsafe products and deceptive packaging; and a program known as Medicare, an extensive scheme for hospital and nursing-home care for the elderly through social security (see Medicare and Medicaid). The president’s greatest legislative triumph was the passage in June of a sweeping civil rights bill outlawing racial discrimination in public accommodations and by employers, unions, and voting registrars.

All these presidents were well-intentioned, just like most progressives are. However, there are plenty of thieves willing to take advantage of those political positions for their own quests for power. People like George Soros without question have plans to build their own social utopia, and they will use people like Richard Trumka, and Van Jones to get it. If you ever want to know the truth, always follow the money. Then it will become obvious what the motives are.

And now that those utopian dreams are in jeopardy, there is frantic movement hoping to pull everything back together again. Progressives are attempting to put on a kinder, gentler face now, where in the past they used extortion and protests to impose themselves on presidents like Johnson and Roosevelt. And the Constitution was trampled upon with well-meaning audacity and now those who reside in power fear losing that power to the strength of the Constitution, because that is the current trend.

This leaves progressives with car salesman like Van Jones to put on a good face to the movement and hope that Jones can sell America back onto progressivism by convincing them that lies are the truth and the truth are the lies. “We aren’t broke,” Jones says. “Just take money from the rich, and everything will be fine.” Such irresponsibility is the last resort of the insect that has spent its whole life building a nest for the security of society with the secret desire to being the king. Such is the desire of all propionates of any utopian culture, which brings to my mind the words of William Goldring.

“Utopias are presented for our inspection as a critique of the human state. If they are to be treated as anything but trivial exercises of the imagination. I suggest there is a simple test we can apply. . . . We must forget the whole paraphernalia of social description, demonstration, expostulation, approbation, condemnation. We have to say to ourselves, “How would I myself live in this proposed society? How long would it be before I went stark staring mad?”

Yes, Van Jones, yes, Richard Trumka, we need to take a wrecking ball to the world you are defending, because it is not American by the definition of America. Progressive views do not belong in the America I want to live in. The America you built belongs in the Soviet Union and Europe at large. The promises and rights progressives like Jones and Trumka talk about are simply the Ten Planks of Communism. Those are not part of America. They are the wonderings of humorists like Thomas More and Karl Marx.

But as the ant house is destroyed, and they all run around in anger, it is important to know that it’s good that they are so upset even if we feel sorry for them. They had no right to set up an ant colony in a capitalist system with the intent to wreck our lives. Their demise is purely their own fault and no amount of kind words and manipulation can cover up what they really stand for, an America that trades freedom for security, and independence for a big brother to hold our hand as we cross the street filled with dangers created by that same big brother in order to make their presence appear useful. It’s coming to an end in a battle that is about to end their experiment of destruction.
