Letter from a Lakota Father: If you can’t beat the message, steal it!!!!!!!

I have watched in some surprise how the Pro Lakota Levy people either indirectly or directly attempt to shut down the message of the NO LAKOTA LEVY. Police reports have been filed, but nobody really cares that thousands of dollars in investment have been stolen from people’s property. Over the last 48 hours it’s been our big 4’X 5’ signs as seen in the pictures here that have turned up missing. Those signs are too big to put in the back of a car, it would take a truck to steal them. And they were stolen using razor blades to cut loose the ties. And it would also require the police departments who are on duty to look the other way while cars and trucks drive around in the middle of the night stealing property. After all, aren’t all these public employees united in their anger toward Issue 2, and therefore protecting each other?

It is the only logical conclusion, because it would take a lot of time and a lot of car trunks to steal that many signs, especially the big ones.

But is it a surprise………..no. While I was taking calls from all over the community by angry people who have lost their NO LAKOT LEVY signs I received this note from the father I mentioned in a previous, heartbreaking article. You can review that situation at this link.

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/sex-at-lakota-schools-i-just-want-to-see-justice-said-the-husband/

The reason they have to steal the signs is because they cannot argue the message on the signs. It was reported in the Cincinnati Enquirer just today that even after 12 million dollars cut, Lakota topped every district in Cincinnati in academic achievement, and they did it without a superintendent. They know this levy is about one thing………..CONTRACT COSTS! They are protecting their incomes at our expense, so they seek to shut down the message. That’s what they did to the man who wrote the letter below, which I include here without any editorial measure on my part. I wonder how many just like him are out there in Lakota who are in a similar situation. We’ll never know, because just like the sign theft that is going on, the school pushed this story under the rug as well.

The author of this letter, we’ll call him “FINAO” wanted me to post this to share with others. It is his recommendation of how you should vote for the Lakota Levy and the school board members. When reading the letter and thinking about what kind of pain this guy is talking about consider that bad things go on in big programs, Ohio State comes to mind, and Penn State most recently. When a person comes forward and asks for help, they should get it, and not be shoved under the rug. Bad things happen when the rug gets too full, and I would argue that the rug at Lakota is getting pretty full. Under that rug you’ll find lots of stuff, including our signs.  (THE PICTUES INCLUDED WITH THE LETTER ARE WHAT’S LEFT OF OUR SIGNS SHOWN ABOVE)

____________________________________________________________________

The end of one journey and beginning of another

I have always made it a point after a long journey whether it was business or personal to reflect back on my actions and decisions to simply learn and become a better person.

I soon realized that in order for our story to be felt as real and for all to understand I would have to put a face on it filled with an objective but emotional approach. But it would have to be done in a way to protect the confidentiality and emotions of my family. So here I am today.

The story about individual behaviors and personal agendas shared with you over the past few days in this blog are real and our story will be told again, by someone else, if changes are not made. The emotions of pain, frustration and disappointment were real and were caused while attempting to seek the truth. But there was a satisfaction knowing that my story was kept by me within the confines of the Lakota schools not only to protect its integrity but allowing those responsible to hear my story, justify their decisions and make the changes necessary to do what was right. Do what was right for the Lakota schools, its students, families and ultimately its taxpayers. In most cases I was met with silence, an action I can reassure you was not comforting.

When I reached the end of my resources at Lakota I came to a crossroads. I could move on knowing that I defended my family and feel blessed that I met one good person along the way, Ron Spurlock, who was the only one who ever said” I understand because I am a parent”. Or I could search for that one last person that would allow me to accomplish the only goal I had: Tell my story and help me understand and come to terms with whether decisions made were made in the best interest of my family and the Lakota schools.

To do that I would need to find someone who is committed to their cause. Whether I agreed with their cause was not important as long as they were objective, fair and understanding while I told my story written with facts. I found that person in Rich Hoffman.

Until I met Rich Hoffman I had never spoke with him or even read his blog but if I listened to what people around me were saying we would have never met and that would have been a loss for more than just my family.

But we did and I watched as his skepticism turned into concern and I knew then I found the right person. It is important to note that upon leaving I gave him no expectations and/or demands just simply thanked him for giving me closure on this journey. I said if he believed in my story simply do what was right for all of Lakota as long as he protected my family; because I have been there once before and will never go there again.

For me to name names at this time would be counterproductive because the individuals responsible for our years of pain and frustration know who they are. And if they are able to lay their head on their pillow at night believing they did the right thing for my family and Lakota then so be it. I am proud of my family for facing our issues and making the necessary changes to be stronger then we have ever been. Our daughter is growing emotionally and showing us what we knew she was always capable of doing.

I close with this simple advice:

Before you vote for your board candidates make sure you know who they are, what they represent and more importantly memorize or write down their promises and/or commitments. There may be a time, in your right as a taxpayer, to question them if their decisions fall outside that. Be comfortable that they will make positive changes and uphold the accountability of others along the way.

And finally the levy is not as simple as yes or no. Understand the facts on both sides making sure they were presented in an objective way; the only emotion shown was in their belief of such facts. Be comfortable that those making financial and educational decisions do so with your family in mind along with the students and taxpayers of the Lakota schools.

I learned from one of my life’s mentors that a mistake is not bad unless you refuse to acknowledge it and learn from it for the betterment of those around you. I know from experience our satisfaction and growth will someday be well worth the journey. Thanks for listening and be strong.

Don’t Be STUPID: Vote all school levies down, and VOTE YES on ISSUE 2

Darryl Parks of 700 WLW had a marvelous show on Saturday, November 5, 2011 just before the election where he covered all the different aspects involved in passing school levies and whether or not the funding is actually needed at the levels public education is demanding. When talking about school funding it becomes quickly evident that school districts all over America, particularly in Ohio have no idea what they are doing and are not functioning from any laws of business sense that the rest of society lives under. In public education the tail wags the dog and the dog reacts to that movement. And that behavior reminds me of the kind of man Al Gore is, an out-of-touch, big government liberal. So Darryl ahead of the election was discussing all the reasons people are stupid if they vote for a school levy. I came on with Darryl at 21:30. In fact this segment is so good you should listen to the entire broadcast which is 1 hour 19 minutes, so grab a snack and prepare to listen to the whole thing.

In the very contentious year of 2000 when George W. Bush ran against Al Gore for the presidency and liberals for the next 8 years could not forget about how close the election actually was and accused Bush of “STEALING” the election, a more startling statistic jumps out at us. Al Gore had 84% of the nation’s college professors cast a vote for him as president. Only 9% voted for Bush. So if the nation was evenly split between Bush and Gore pretty much 50/50, then what segment of society are producing members of the “education class?”

This isn’t a question of Republican against Democrats, because to me there wasn’t much difference between Bush and Gore regarding political philosophy. Both were big government advocates, which drew the split of the country’s opinion. But it is the perception of what Gore stands for that put him over the top among the very liberal-minded members of the “Education Class.” And in the year 2000 those college professors were providing bachelor and master’s degrees to the teachers who are in our schools today. Some of those teachers have become administrators and even superintendents, and show the footprint of that learned liberalism in virtually everything they do.

When I first started looking in to the whole school funding problem a year ago and applied the same rules I have used on myself when dealing with budget issues the very first thing that jumped out at me were the wages. They were just too high for the amount and skill level of those employees. Lakota, my school system was trying to maintain a wage structure that had no regulation. The school board meets twice a month to manage a $250 million dollar budget and they are the only guard against excessive spending. When the superintendent of the school makes more than the governor of Ohio, you have a major problem in importance perception, and that distortion permeates all the ranks of the administration. To see how much superintendents make, read and watch the videos at these two articles.

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/05/10/superintendents-make-more-than-the-governor-changes-and-corruption-in-public-school/

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/05/11/the-most-important-broadcast-youll-ever-hear-the-crises-in-west-clermont-school-distict-and-every-public-school-in-ohio/

If after listening to Darryl’s broadcast and watching the I-Team investigations on those two links, and reading all the information I’ve put down here for your convenience, and you still vote for a school levy, then you can’t be helped. I would simply write you off as a contributing member of society by classifying you as a derelict of thought. You were obviously instructed by the same kind of people who voted for Al Gore and you left your brain in college where it was offered to the Al Gore quest to rid the world of Man-Bear-Pig and his “super cereal” efforts to save us all portrayed wonderfully by the cartoon South Park.

Because only people who have fried all their brain cells in some hippie diatribe of drug induced infestation would vote for a school levy. Only a brain-dead, tie die, pot smoking, pony tail wearing, over-weight, thin-skinned, overly sensitive, pimple popping, Marxist, tweed jacketed, Greenpeace loving, fool would vote for a school levy. Only an Al Gore voting, Clinton apologist who looks at Barack Obama as the second coming, and could name all the contestants of Dancing with the Stars but would fall short of naming a single one of their state reps would vote for a school levy. Only a person who completely sucks as a parent, and tries to cover up that suckiness with money would vote for a school levy. Only a person who believes in Man-Bear-Pig would vote for a school levy. In short, if you vote for a school levy………….AT ALL………………………you are STUPID!!!!! STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why? Because as Darryl and I discussed, in the real world costs are regulated daily. I could never sit down in front of the owners who hire me and tell them that their payroll would just increase in an uncontrolled fashion infinitely, without any control. If I told an owner of a business, “You must increase your sales, (REVENUE) to meet your payroll, my life as a manager would be over in about 1/10th of a second. What the owner hires a manager for is to maintain the profit margin while driving down the costs. I would personally use the 10-80-10 rule.

I talk about that rule in this article in case you don’t know what it is:
https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/02/27/s-b-5-would-have-saved-1-3-billion-in-2010-yet-the-oea-says-its-teachers-will-suffer-when-the-average-teacher-makes-55k/

Public schools do nothing close to this. What happens is the union lobby pushes to get school board members elected who work against a sleepy public not paying attention. Those school board members provide almost no management of community resources. The union negotiates great benefits for their members which lowers the resistance to paying union dues so that money can be used to purchase political lobby power. And when the district needs more money, they simple pass another levy. And there are a whole set of manipulations that the union lobby has embedded in the community from their radical teachings provided by groups like the NEA which instructs them. TO SEE THE RECOMMENDED READING LIST OF THE NEA CLICK THIS LINK:

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/10/30/come-on-a-ride-herman-cain-stacy-schuler-and-the-nea-fear-terror-and-halloween/

Some of those radical tactics are to cut busing, even though it’s a small cost of the whole budget. Cut electives because parents want those for their children. Cut sports, because many parents hope to obtain a scholarship to help pay for college. The union knows that by taking away what parents want, they can control the behavior of the parent. It’s done for the same reason that a parent might take away the favorite toy of their own child to control the behavior of the child. And for the residents of a community who don’t have kids in the district, the union lobby attacks them with guilt. “Can’t you pay the tax? Someone paid for your education, now you need to pay that back,” or sometimes outright vandalism. SEE SOME EXAMPLES HERE:

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/10/24/radicals-in-lakota-vandals-steal-and-destroy-vote-no-signs/

In fact with all the evidence provided here for your benefit, if you have not made use of it, and learned the game and how it’s played and you still vote for a levy, to feed this insane system that is out-of-control, then I would go so far to say that you are not only STUPID, but are in fact a DUMB ASS!

Sorry, I don’t mean to hurt your feelings. But you are. Anyone who votes to get rid of Issue 2, is also a DUMB ASS. It makes me weary to know that some of the air I have breathed into my lungs may have been exhaled from yours. It makes me weary because the same disease that has eaten your brain may enter my blood stream and infect me with the same slow-growing illness. I feel sorry for the children of these stupid people because they will also grow up and become stupid, and that is unfortunate. And when these stupid people are senior citizens, God forbid the imposition they will become on society. Can you imagine a stupid person who doesn’t even have the intelligence to care for themselves when they’ve lost their physical characteristics and muscle mass is a thing of the past? Will they just sit on a couch and hope Man-Bear-Pig will drop food in their mouths? Will they hope their children will care for them, because they won’t have the ability, because they too will be too stupid to move?

This election is about a lot more than just votes cast. It’s a measure against how stupid we have really become as a society, and the results will show us if we’ve already went beyond the point of no-return.

I know I’ve put the information out there, so I feel OK about it. But I worry as I look at some of my friends and neighbors who appear to be no different from a Zombie from some horror film, as the drool falls out of the corner of their mouth, as they say they will support a school levy. Such people are a menace to society and are ills to the future of the human race, and that in its essence is what this election in Ohio represents.

So, one last time, DON’T BE STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vote every single school levy down. Every ONE!!!! And vote to keep Issue 2. And teachers, firefighters and police who have less than 5 years on the job, you better Vote YES on ISSUE 2. Don’t listen to your union buddies on the force. Because when the layoffs come, you’ll be the first to go. If Issue 2 holds and we can engage in merit based pay, management will be able to keep you, the young employee, and let go of that fat-ass superior of yours who is just milking the system. YEAH, you know who they are, and so do I. So for your own protection, make sure you VOTE YES on ISSUE 2. Once you get in the voting booth, those slugs will never know, so you’ll be safe. If you don’t do that and you find yourself on the unemployment line in February it can be for only one reason YOU ARE…………………………….Well, you know the rest!

Right-to-Work is Coming to Ohio: Money spent against Issue 2 sealed the deal

That mug shot of Diana Frey represents to me the problems of public sector unions. It’s not the individual members themselves who are the problem, but collectively they pave the way to corruption. As a general rule, the larger the organization, the more opportunities for corruption, and that corruption usually comes from the leadership. Diana Frey had access to vast sums of money from a union she started, and she abused that trust for her own gain. There are people like her in the leadership of most unions to varying degrees. They may not be embezzling money on the scale of Diana Frey, but the power they wield does corrupt their intentions for the so-called “greater good.”

Doc Thompson did a wonderfully balanced segment on 700 WLW on Issue 2, the collective bargaining reform bill in Ohio. This portion of the conversation begins with an interview from a rep from Freedom Works, but consists of many phone calls from people on both sides of the Issue 2 argument. Doc also breaks down the specifics of Issue 1 and 3 in Ohio as well, so if you aren’t sure what those issues are, you’ll want to spend time with this broadcast. Click the video link to listen.

Doc is a lot more neutral about the public unions than I am. I have come to a place where I believe they should all be illegal. I see absolutely no good that comes from them. Not only has the collective bargaining contracts negotiated by unions allowed very average employees to make Grade A income, but they create a culture of complacency that I find devastating to our social fabric. Our society has become too safe, regimented, and overly regulated. Too many people have jobs that are unproductive and simply serve to maintain those complacent conditions and it is the unions who perpetuate that culture.

A hard look at the Stacy Schuler case in Mason and the sexual promiscuity going on at that school not just among that one teacher, but the several who are also involved, and the situation I recently learned about at Lakota where a teacher thought nothing of using a child to seduce the mother of a family is that all these participants are functioning within a bubble of protection which the union gives them. Because unions destroy competition, there are no real rivals in the work place that must be out-performed, and this allows the mind to wander to sexual promiscuity on the light end of corruption and on the heavy end, Diana Frey and her embezzlement of three-quarters of a million dollars in union dues. See the sad sex story of the Lakota parents here:

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/sex-at-lakota-schools-i-just-want-to-see-justice-said-the-husband/

Wherever I’ve had to work with unions either in the private sector, which I do often, or the public sector which I have since I became involved in school levies, I see massive inefficiencies in their work ethic that disgust me. Unions exist to protect the employee, but that is not always a good thing, because competition helps drive the best out of people, and when that is taken away, complacency fills the void.

I am one of those who believe that every member of society should have a right to belong to a union, or not to belong to a union. I believe that freedom from a union should be an option for every Ohio employee. And I am one who thought that Issue 2 never went far enough. Those who claim it went too far are those who assume that the static patterns maintained for the last 40 years deserve to be maintained, and I think it should be completely erased. There is no merit in the union activity that I can see, except for those who live under its protection. The cost of that protection is not something I’m willing to support. The strangle hold they have on the public must be released.

As I was riding to work this morning in the crisp cool autumn air I thought of a friend of mine and frequent reader here who announced to me last night, “I’m the one of the first to sign the petition for Ohio to become a Right to Work State!” I had to smile at that, and not just because the mask I wear in the cold attracts a lot of attention, but because it has been talked about for a long time. Many of us who have wanted education reform have been waiting to see the results of Issue 2, but after seeing how much money the unions from outside Ohio have spent attempting to defeat that very fair bill, it has been decided to proceed with our plan to put Ohio Right-to-Work on the state ballot. This is something that needs to be implemented as fast as possible. The ugliness, the fear tactics, the misleading information that has come out of the unions during this campaign against Issue 2 has sealed the deal and convinced many people who there just isn’t a happy co-existence with labor unions. Employees need to have the option to belong to them or not, and in the future I will judge the value of employees based first on whether or not they are in a union. If they are in a union I will assume that they are a weak employee who is relying on collective-bargaining to receive a level of pay they do not deserve. Those not in a union will naturally earn my respect because they obviously are proud of their work and don’t wish to hide it in a collective mass.

Unions, you brought it on yourself. We tried to play nice, but you chose the radical route. So you are doing yourselves in. Personally, I am done with all of you. I want a cop, a firefighter and a teacher, but I don’t want a union between them and me. All one has to do to see the ugliness of the union ethic is to pull up the rug, because there has been a lot shoved under there that has accumulated over time and has pulled our society down to a level that I find reprehensible.

For those who wish to point at Diana Frey and say, “She’s not an accurate representation of public unions, or unions in general.” I would say that you are lying to yourself out of convenience. You don’t want to believe simply due to that fact that you benefit from unions and don’t want to believe you are participating in treachery to the nation. Diana attempted to shove her mess under the rug, but it was just so big that we could see the lump in the carpet. So we lifted it up and saw what she had done. However, for every Diana Frey, there are many little Diana’s out there doing much smaller offenses that add up to a lot of dirt collectively, and it all doesn’t fit under the rug.

I want to pull the rug away all together. I want to polish the hardwood floors of our nation, so I’m ready to toss the carpet out to the trash so we can show off the foundation that has always been there. But without the carpet, there isn’t anywhere to stuff the corruption, which is a key to putting our country on the correct tract which will endure for the future. That is the primary reason I am a huge supporter of making Ohio a Right-to-Work state, so look for the petition coming to a neighborhood near you. And when you see it, SIGN IT!

Macrocosm and the Microcosm: It’s a math problem displayed in art

I had a beer with my son-in-law at The Polo Grill in Mason and we discussed our thoughts of the upcoming election and people in general. The video below articulates perfectly my current mood. As I speak to my constitutional purist friends in the Tea Party, my Wild West traditional arts friends, and my conservative political friends, and even my artistic friends who almost agree with nothing politically with me, I continue to be amazed at how willingly we place upon ourselves chains of social bondage. The first comment I received last night from a person I respect a great deal about the sexual situation I described in the article at the link below was “What’s the big deal? It’s sex between consenting adults.” Clearly the message was lost in the importance of the story:

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/sex-at-lakota-schools-i-just-want-to-see-justice-said-the-husband/

The artist who assembled this painting accurately portrays my current feeling about virtually everything. Have a look.

I spend a lot of my time thinking about life in the macrocosm and that video shows the condition of the American macrocosm.I am infinitely fascinated with the conditions that add up to that macrocosm so events in the microcosm are things I pay a lot of attention to. And one of the conditions which add up to those people in chains shown in that artistic rendering begin in public education.

Many people inaccurately assume that I have a hatred of public education because I don’t want to increase taxes on the community to pay for it. At one level, public education is simply too expensive. The cost of it needs to come down. But personally, I am not happy with the product that public education produces, mainly because they are largely responsible for the willingness of the people in that video for putting on those chains.

I have listened to many stories come at me from acts that go on within a school system. Since I live in the Lakota district, which is considered one of the best in the country, there are still plenty of stories of bullying between class types among students. It seems to happen more to the children of parents who cause trouble. It’s almost as if unconsciously the participants in these schools have a collective defense mechanism against threats to the system itself. Parents who have problems with the school, whether it be a case where a teacher comes on to the mother of a student to engage in sex, or if a parent is one of those people who come to school board meetings and try to make sense of the numbers, those people are labeled as trouble makers, and they are targeted as well as their children. Bullying isn’t just happening on the playground or on the school board as Linda O’Conner stated recently, where she felt she was being bullied off the school board for being a dissenting vote too often.

Last year prior to the levy attempt I was shocked to learn that the very treasured band teacher William Thomas was told his job was on the chopping block if the levy didn’t pass. This caused the parents and students who adore him to become very upset and rally to pass the levy. The whole scene was a scare tactic started by the administrators to manipulate the public into passing the levy, just like cutting busing is to create fear and anger in the parents so they will pass a higher tax on themselves.

A parent who had a controversial issue that involved many people within the school found that his child was singled out by other students and picked on aggressively. What made those students pick on his child? A teacher whispered in their ear to initiate the behavior indirectly. Of course all this behavior is hearsay; it’s just words in a hallway, or in a classroom, or a subtle message on Facebook. It’s the same subtle message that came from the labor unions, and ultimately George Soros to start the Wall Street Riots. It’s whispers in the microcosm to affect the macrocosm because small events add up to big events and manipulators know it.

I saw on my way to work today that virtually all of our No Lakota Levy signs had been stolen. We’ve lost over 700 signs over the last week and a half. Why? The reason was to shut down the message, to protect the collective whole of the school system, and it took a pretty large effort to collect that many signs, so it’s not just one or two people.

So at one level my anger is at the audacious costs these public schools expect from the community to operate. But secondly, it’s what they expect people to take as they maintain an “education class” which instructs their “product,” the students themselves, to enter life already in chains, and as a lover of individual freedom, I find it appalling I am required through my taxes to contribute to such a poor “product.” What they are making is something I don’t want to deal with in the future because it is all the little events in the microcosm, the bullying, the subtle manipulations to secure funding, the political imbalance in philosophic collectivism, the radicalism of the public unions, the product public schools create that is terrible! They prepare the mind of mankind to fall for the utterances of half-baked presidents and live life in chains just as that artist portrayed.

So it is not my fault if you dear reader cannot connect the dots. If you read what I put here and wonder, “what is he after?” “He just hate’s public school.” “He wants attention.” You are making those assertions from your perspective in the microcosm of your existence and the static patterns of your life will not allow you to see beyond. That fault is your own. The way I see such people are simply as links in the chains that bind us all to a mental slavery started in the games played in public education.

I am thankful that there are artists out there who can so accurately capture the macrocosm of the problem even if our society is powerless to stop it because of the foundations that are established in the microcosm and propelled by those who are simply blind.  I am also thankful for cold beer in The Polo Grill and the company of people who” get it.”  Because as long as the beer is cold and the hamburgers are that good, the rest of the world can drown on its dept and ignorance as far as I care.

Come On a Ride: Herman Cain, Stacy Schuler, and the NEA–fear, terror and Halloween

I love Herman Cain. Now here is a guy who gets it, and his new smoking ad punches through invisible barriers to a double-standard radicalism that is breed into our culture. In fact, it is so deeply ingrained that few people even realize that they have been radicalized or that their daily behavior reflects it.

I’m going to ask you for a moment to sit down as though you were about to get on a ride, because I had the rare privilege of riding the Diamondback in the front seat during the Haunt event at Kings Island. As I stood in line and watched all the zombies, alien creatures and crazed side-walk skidders I pieced together various, seemingly unconnected events that had been nagging me. So make sure you are strapped in securely and come along for the ride. The source of all these seemingly unconnected events is something you won’t like, and will challenge your belief system, and it will all come back around to the station in the end, to the ad above about Herman Cain, Barack Obama, our cultural failures reflected in the Stacy Schuler case and the epic battle between traditional values and progressives. Hold up your hands and enjoy the ride.

I received a call earlier in the day from one of my No Lakota Buddies early while I was in a meeting. Seeing who it was, I took the call. Apparently the Butler County Sheriff caught some kid from Batavia stealing one of our big No Lakota Levy signs from the corner of Liberty Way and Cox. Since we put our signs out last week there has been a barrage of students stealing campaign signs against the levy. This has not just been happening at Lakota, but at Lebanon, and Fairfield in large amounts. Have a look at this link which shows pictures:

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/10/24/radicals-in-lakota-vandals-steal-and-destroy-vote-no-signs/

While we were dealing with massive sign theft over in Lakota I received several reports, one from a very credible source that the journalism teacher at Lakota East, Dean Hume had been bad-mouthing me, and one of the school board candidates openly to his class. Some of the kids came home and reported this and the principal at Lakota East had to be spoken to about the incident. I know some of the kids who take Hume’s class and I angrily inquired about what was going on. I received a series of emails from a parade of students and former students explaining what a great teacher Hume was and how my opinion of Hume being a Walter Lippmann activist type was incorrect. These students went on to explain the merits of how Hume had impacted their lives in so many positive ways. Two of the kids who wrote me I like quite a bit, so I let the issue go and took their word for it. Still, something didn’t seem right about their lack of critical assessment of Hume. Hume certainly crossed the line, but I was happy to leave the issue to the principal at Lakota East to deal with. After all, if I tracked down every comment made against me, I would be perpetually tracking down people and I wouldn’t get a whole lot done. So I simply filed the event away to contemplate later while I rode roller coasters.

I ride roller coasters so much in fact that when my publisher accepted the manuscript to my latest novel, they commented on how intense the action was, and wondered how I could write such a thing. I explained that much of the original manuscript had been sketched out on my hand while riding The Stunt Track at Kings Island, which I road again will thinking about the Hume story at Lakota East. There is something soothing in that catapult launch, and the run through the police cars that gets my blood boiling in a positive direction and organizes my thoughts. The faster the roller coasters, the more clear things become for me. And as for settings, strange creatures, gothic music, and smoke machines actually provide context for the metaphors they represent in the real world. My wife and I grabbed some steak fries from Rivertown and I pondered more of the perplexing quagmires percolating in my mind from the week. I think I like this time of year at Kings Island best simply because they don’t play all the pop music throughout the park. I prefer symphonic pieces most of the time as a musical choice, especially playful pieces themed around horror films.

As I stared through smoke at the dim lights and navigated through hoards of teenagers giggling and screaming within moments of each other, I thought of the most truly terrifying apparition that was behind the entire structure of everything I was concerned with. For there is a unifying factor, an aspect that tied all these individually small situations into a collective problem, and the hint to just how much influence that unifying factor is to my concerns came to me just hours before I held in my hands the steak fries that my wife and I were sharing.

A reporter called me, “Rich, not too many people like you do they?”

“No, and I like it that way,” I replied.

“You like it that way?”

“Yes, because if you are good and fair to people, yet they still don’t like you just because you are asking legitimate questions, it’s because they have something to hide. So the more people who hate me means we’re uncovering things they want to hide and their anger is the mask for which they use to hide it,” I said. “Did you call to tell me that?”

“I received a strange message from someone who didn’t leave their name or number. They were furious that I spoke to you about the school board story.”

I thought about the story that had broken earlier in the week, along with everything else mentioned. You can see the article that started the rift on the Lakota School Board at this ink:

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/10/17/the-joan-powell-school-board-scandal-a-lesson-of-what-not-to-do-at-lakota/

“What else did they say,” I asked.

“They said you weren’t qualified to speak about school board matters and that we shouldn’t talk to you.”

“Well, there’s your answer, it’s one of the school board members themselves. What do you think?”

“You’re the one who gave us the flyer,” the reporter said. “If you hadn’t done that there wouldn’t be a story.”

“So because I’m not a school board member I’m not qualified to look at a flyer from a school board president and see what she’s up to, trying to stack the board in her favor, and therefore the position of the union? So because you interviewed me, they are trying to put pressure on you to not speak to me in the future. Is that how you take it?”

“Sounds that way to me,” the reporter said.

“Well, do you regret talking to me?”

“Hell, no!” the reporter said. “You are a fun guy to talk to. I just thought it was funny is all.”

I laughed. “Well, if they are pissed off, it means I’m doing something right. And before I’m done, there will be a lot more pissed off people, you can count on that. Sounds like mafia tactics to me. What do you think?”

“That’s the first thing I thought of,” the reporter added before we went into another interview for a story being prepared for another article.

What do all these stories have in common? Unions! Radical, manipulative, destructive, socialist unions paid for with our tax money to work against all us at every turn. It is because of the unions that I fully support ISSUE 2. I want to support teachers who elect to remove themselves from union membership. Because what I know about their activity is far scarier than any of the haunted houses at Kings Island or the thrill rides catapulting you into the darkness as you ride them. The teachers unions at their heart are a socialist organization created by enemies of America.

Their work is subtle and has been for years. Even many of the teachers who belong to their organization aren’t aware of the slow cooking employed upon their minds to create a radicalized soldier for progressive causes, and those teachers, because the pay is good, and the benefits are unlike anything in the private sector will swallow whole the message of their parent unions and teach those same radical methods to our children. This doesn’t happen in one school year. It happens over decades and the true intentions are disguised with careful language so not to tip-off the public as to the real aim. But it’s been going on a long, long time. For evidence, feel free to view these links in great detail.

In Ohio the NEA (NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION) contributed $1 million to defeating Issue 2 and they are a radical organization. Look at their reading list, shown on their website. These are the books that the NEA wants the teachers you pay for to read. The NEA is the parent union to the OEA (Ohio Education Association) and specific to Lakota the OEA is the parent organization to the LEA (Lakota Education Association.) These books are listed as they appear on the NEA website.

And this week, the NEA announced that it was awarding a $5,000 grant to two Wisconsin teachers for helping create union activists in 1st and 2nd grade students. Have a look for yourself. Here’s a screenshot from the NEA website, before they remove it.

What’s happening is through radical union activity and small little rewards like higher wage compensation and benefits, grants and other perks, the radical unions are nudging their teachers to embrace radical ideas camouflaged behind carefully planted smiles and a public image. School boards are constructed to maintain that façade to the public, as the direction of the school boards is then controlled by the OSBA, the Ohio School Board Association who also reads the same types of books. School board members who don’t play nicely are pushed off the board, because the aim of a school board is to achieve public consensus. The game is a very subtle one, and for people who are more interested in watching Dancing with the Stars or picking up a magazine which features Jennifer Aniston’s newest love interest, they probably will think what I’m saying is a bunch of crazy talk. In fact, many school board members and even some superintendents might think so because their thinking is so specialized and focused on a specific task that they fail to see static patterns outside of their own experience. (TO UNDERSTAND STATIC PATTERNS AND WHAT THEY MEAN TO YOU CLICK THE LINK FOR REFERENCE.)

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/08/28/dynamic-intellectualism-and-the-tea-party-the-battle-between-the-spider-and-the-wasp/

The reason they can’t see what is right in front of their face is described in that article. That is why they get angry with me, because they are either aware of what I’m saying or they are afraid of what I’m saying and they don’t want to believe it. But what I’m saying is not wrong. The only question is how long does it take for everyone else to learn and accept it so they can change their behavior.

As I looked at all the costumes around Kings Island on the Haunt night I saw that it is the masks that the unions show us. The education institutions themselves are all wearing them and they want you to buy into the product they are selling, care and education for your children with service and smile. But what the larger organizations of union control want are teachers to pay them dues so they can use that money to inflict social change. READ THIS ARTICLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE AFTER.

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/04/24/if-you-vote-for-a-levy-of-any-kind-youre-stupid-the-ten-planks-of-communism/

So it is the masks that we see when dealing with public education, and it is the masks the kids are learning to shape their minds around. The process is so subtle that it happens like a slow cooker, but the results of that stewing process are absolutely evident in the Stacy Schuler trial. I think I am more alarmed at the casual behavior and lack of morality in the kids than I am in a teacher who had sex orgies with 5 of her students while helping the Mason School System pass their tax levy in the fall of 2010.
READ ALL ABOUT THAT HERE.

And see video of the trial and get a hint at what dirt is still under the rug in her wake. (SHE’S NOT ALONE IN THIS)

Behind the masks of these monsters running around Kings Island are simple teenage kids just like many of the customers in the park. The only difference between the customers and the dressed up monsters is the roles they play in the experience. If everyone stripped down to just a swimming suit and put the masks away, we are all the same. It’s the roles we play which differentiate the participants.

I don’t jump or get startled when I go through a haunted house. I enjoy going through them to see what level of imagination the people who build them can come up with, but I don’t allow my mind to suspend my belief system to accept what I’m seeing. However, many students, and parents do, and they are willing participants in the masks of public education which is constructed by the radical elements of the union movement. Those organizations are intent not just to scare our society, like the monsters in a haunted house. They actually want to change society and they are using our tax money to do it.

Oh……the ride is almost over and we’re pulling back into the station. Wasn’t that fun? Do you want t ride again? Well, ride this ride as many times as you’d like. Go back to the beginning and read it again, and again and again, because as we pull into the station to end this ride for the moment we have to study what we learned. Herman Cain understands what is at work behind the scenes and he sought to exploit that hypocrisy with his new ad and I love it! Because the message does not speak to the masks we wear in society, but to the soul behind the mask who knows that everything is an illusion. When the funding structure of an education institution is in jeopardy, seemingly sane people, young and old, who have been carefully trained over many years to believe radical concepts of change implemented by an aggressive teachers union, will flock like insects to protect that funding structure. Kids will steal and vandalize signs. They’ll apologize for their teaches radical behavior, they’ll call up reporters and attempt to gain control of the media, they dress up in the scariest mask they have to frighten you along in a haunted house on a path they have established. They’ll take away busing to “nudge” parents into passing another levy, because the cost of fuel alone exceeds the cost of the tax. They’ll threaten the safety of the community; they’ll attempt to create anxiety over property values, over emergency services, over lack of college opportunities. They’ll do all this to frighten you along in a haunted house of their design.

I can see in Cain’s eye that he’s seen it all and done it all and he is not willing to suspend his beliefs to become frightened. In fact, he’s inviting the thugs, the creeps, the zombies and every political terror imaginable to attempt to scare him with that ad and I absolutely love it! Because what it does is force people to analyze their own behavior and ask the question, why do I believe what I believe. Do I really think that and if so…………..why?

As we pull into the station and you get off this ride, ask yourself, what do you believe, and why do you believe it. Do you choose to allow masked zombies to frighten you because you are bored and want the entertainment? Or do you really believe that they are the monsters they appear to be? Because when you’re ready for the truth, you can join me in line to enjoy the spectacle for the show it is, enjoy having some steak fries in the cool evening air as people relish in the festivities. But you don’t take it too serious because it’s really only a show, and when you understand that, you can then begin to consider the true value of what it costs to put on such a show. Once that happens, a level of truth can finally be explored.

So…………….what’s it gonna’ be. Want to ride again? Go ahead……………………………………………

Before we step out of this car let me share with you a video from 24 years ago just to let you know I am acquainted with what I’m talking about. My wife and I first bought a mobile home instead of doing the usual thing of renting an apartment as our first residence. The idea is we wanted to own our home, not rent it. Every year the trailer park had a huge trick or treat night on Halloween and I loved it. Several hundred kids would come to our residence so I’d set up a haunted house and make kids “earn” their candy. I’d sit in a chair in my living room and make them come and get the candy out of my lap. Under the bowl of candy I had an air hose that I shot at the kids when they took the candy. It was all in fun, except for the smart mouthed girls that I threw out of my house. Some things never change not only on my end, but on the other side as well.

I still do things like this, but it was never as fun as in that mobile home park because our homes after this period of time have always been outside of neighborhoods so I never had that many trick or treaters again. But it’s also fun to see that some things never change and that people behave the same no matter how young or old they are. If I had my wish, I’d ask that everyone in society be like the last kids in that video, where they willingly suspended their beliefs to have a little fun, but they never lose themselves in the act. And when it’s over we all go our separate ways with an appreciation of the show and don’t try and impose change on one another for the act of control. That’s where the line gets crossed and the threat of violence isn’t just in some Halloween fun, but to alter the freedoms and income we are all entitled to enjoy without tyranny.

Average Lakota Teacher Overall Compensation is $130,219 Per Year: That’s $67.82 per hour!

I have said it time and time again, more money spent on education does not yield better educational results. Doc Thompson of 700 WLW and I talk about that very aspect during his 9AM to noon show.

Money does not make any education system better! This discussion was triggered from some fantastic reporting recently in the Cincinnati Enquirer who has been looking hard at the data of whether or not higher taxes improve education. I put the blame for this misperception cleanly on the radical union aspect of education. It has been their factions who have spread the rumors and they’ve done it to increase their wages and benefits. The rumors have nothing to do with actual education. For Instance, Indian Hill spends around $793 per $100,000 in taxes compared to $1,672 per $100,000 in Finnytown. Which school system do you think is producing more academically bound students? How much do you spend per hundred thousand? Well, have a look. This chart came from one of the Cincinnati Enquirer articles and is very useful.

Source Article:

http://news.cincinnati.com/interactive/article/20111022/NEWS0102/310230005/Who-Pays-Most-School-Taxes

Of course how much we spend on our properties to fund a school is only one part of the story. The other is how much a district actually spends per pupil to achieve the desired academic results. Doc asked me what the difference is, in why some schools can produce Excellent with Distinction results even though they might be spending $8,000 per student, and schools that are spending $15,000 per student are only excellent. I explained that the difference in cost is all tied up in the salary structures of those schools. I would say that statistically, the schools that are spending less per pupil are for the most part more rural communities and employee newer teachers, and when teachers get some experience under their belts, they transfer to schools like Lakota, Mason, Princeton, and Cincinnati Public because those are very desirable places to live with a lot of culture for the teachers to participate in. So the more remote schools have a high turn-over at the top end of their pay scale and have more younger tenure teachers, which helps keep their costs down. Yet those schools still produce excellent results, so the myth that money equals quality is shattered by this information.

All we are paying for with more costs are the inflated contracts of teachers who have priced themselves out of their own market. But that market value is artificially propped up because of collective-bargaining derived from the union influence. I didn’t get the time to explain it on the radio but the best way to explain this concept is with professional baseball. The New York Yankees have the highest payroll in baseball. So with that in mind, they should win a World Series every year if money bought wins. But the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have one of the smallest payrolls in baseball, yet they have regular playoff appearances, and could be argued statistically to be as good as the Yankees. The reason is the Rays tend to dump their high dollar employees in favor of fresh talent right out of the Triple A League. The Yankees tend to buy up other teams best players, which inflates their payroll on the belief that in doing so, they are buying a championship team, which doesn’t work. It doesn’t work in sports and it doesn’t work in business. It also doesn’t work in education. Being lean and mean works, employing people who have passion works.

And getting rid of your “train riders” (people who are burnt out and just along for the contract ride) does not, and many districts who have high per pupil costs are carrying too many of these types of employees. But when you speak to an employee, they of course will tell you that you need them. They are trying to sell you their services. But if the people who do the hiring and firing do not understand this basic concept, then the costs will become inflated, and that’s what’s happening with these teaching professions. Late in the evening the night before last, I received the spreadsheet you see below. This man is not part of the No Lakota Levy group. He’s a neutral fellow who’s just trying to make sense of the situation at Lakota so he did the extra work of trying to figure out whether or not he should vote for the Lakota Levy or not. He wanted me to publish this so others could share in his work and compare it to their situations. He calls it his Lakota Levy Calculator.

To understand what you are looking at I changed the colors a bit to make it easier to see. I put the essential numbers in Yellow so that the main point is easy to see for those who aren’t used to looking at spreadsheets. In this case, he uses a flat 60K per year as the average salary of the people in West Chester, and compares that against the $62,331 average Lakota Teachers made during the 2010 school year.  It shows all the hidden costs of the typical teacher at Lakota, so you can clearly see how much better they have it than the rest of us. His references are listed at the end, so feel free to double-check him. What he is showing here is that the annualized compensation for the average Lakota teacher, once all costs are added up, (insurance costs, wages, bankable personal days, which are actually large costs, the compensation is $130,219 per year. For the average resident of West Chester who makes $60,000 per year brings in just $74,520. The hourly compensation rate for the teacher is $67.82 per hour. For the average West Chester resident it’s $38.81. Now, who believes that a teacher at Lakota is worth $67.82 per hour? I don’t. They might be worth $38.81 an hour, but not $67. It is this type of cost which drives up the budgets which dictate the need for school levies. These costs are the hidden impacts against our community budgets and the suggestion that education would improve if we pay a teacher $70 per hour, or $80 per hour is just insane, and is an outright manipulation of the facts. Before the state can solve the state funding problem we have to understand what the value of a teacher is in Ohio. As of now there are too many spoiled costs inserted into these union contracts to make firm budget decisions. And until those costs are placed into the realm of reality, we cannot reform education funding.

It is for this reason that the teachers unions are so upset over Issue 2. They know that once communities start understanding what their tax money is being spent on, they won’t want to pay it, and they shouldn’t.

People vote for higher taxes hoping that they are giving their kid a better chance than a school that isn’t performing at a higher level. But the key is not in the employees themselves, it’s in the management, and it always has been. What makes a sports team better, or a business better, or a school better, is the management. And this includes an organization like the Indianapolis Colts. Payton Manning is the same as having a head coach and a player wrapped up into the same position. Manning is more management than player, and the great ones always are. It’s not just in physical ability, but what comes out through strategy. You can’t throw money at a situation to buy quality. A district has to actually be a quality place to begin with and that starts with the community itself. They are the management, and if they want a great school it starts with paying attention to your kids, not teaching them that money can buy them anything they want, and that watching every dime isn’t just being cheap, but it’s good practice at driving the best out of people who are then forced to dig deep within themselves to perform at the highest level possible. When employees are fat, dumb and happy, they become complacent, and become a problem. For evidence of this, sports provide the formula for us to see. And education is no different. The schools of Ohio are in trouble because they haven’t come to grips with the big rip-off shown in the above spreadsheets, and they better learn to understand the situation before it’s too late to improve the situation. And that starts by voting NO on all school levies, because more money just feeds the problem and if you give them more money, you have become part of the problem.

To understand how much of the problem you are, look at the end of that spreadsheet, at how much money Lakota would have as a budget surplus if we were paying teachers the very good wage of the average West Chester resident, all things equal–we’d have a $66 million dollar surplus.  Wow, and tell me that it’s all about the kids.

Now we know why the Pro Levy campaign called themselves “Move Forward”……..because they are moving forward toward the bank while the rest of us count our pennies.

Indicted West Chester Police Officer made $70,032.20: Yet the apologists think that’s not enough

The West Chester Police did a good thing and that’s act quickly on an internal investigation of one of their own.  The nine-year veteran 37-year-old David Busemeyer was investigated and indicted by a grand jury of three felony charges, obstruction of official business, obstruction of justice and attempted tampering with evidence. Busemeyer is of course innocent until proven guilty, but this entire internal investigation is a reminder that public servants are not perfect. And I don’t expect them to be. What I expect is for West Chester to do exactly as it did, and that is bring about justice even when it involves their own.

However, in light of Issue 2, where the rhetoric has been turned up, and those pandering types use public servants to prop up their own political positions, I keep hearing that public servants do not make very much money, that police start at 35K a year, and that firefighters make 55K per year, and that teachers are not getting rich off their jobs. Well, I’ve shown at this site that teachers at Lakota make an average of $63K per year and are doing very well relative to the rest of the community. The police and firefighters in my community are also doing quite well, which I wasn’t aware of till the last levy was approved. After the approval of that levy I started looking at the numbers which resulted in the below spreadsheet.

Because this officer had been named and indicted by a grand jury, I was curious how much this particular police officer made, because according to Bill Cunningham and many others who are supporters of collective bargaining and union labor, these guys don’t make very much money. So I took a look at the spreadsheet below and sure enough, David Busemeyer is on there. At only 37 years old and nine years on the force he is making $70,032.20 as of 2010 numbers, since I received that information during the winter of 2011.

That’s not bad money. In fact, that’s quite a bit more than the average tax payer, even in West Chester. Have a look at my list.

To see my original article on this spreadsheet click here:

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/03/12/oh-what-big-teeth-you-have-how-much-to-police-and-firefighters-cost-in-west-chester/

The trouble with “collective begging” which is the union term that Cunningham has adopted to refer to the “collective bargaining” reform bill of Issue 2 is that “collective bargaining” is not practical, is expensive, and allows employees who can’t achieve large wage levels under their own merit to make excellent wages under that system. Using West Chester purely as an example since it’s my community it’s not a big deal if David Busemeyer makes $70,032.20 if there was some sort of evaluation procedure that delivered him that type of wage. Maybe he does a lot of high risk work, or maybe he can speak in several languages and act as a translator for illegal immigration busts. But under collective bargaining, EVERYONE makes that kind of money. All a public employee has to do is show up for work, do what they are told within the union rules, and keep their nose clean, somewhat, and they will receive an automatic increase based on their collective bargaining contract. And instead of one employee making great money, you have hundreds making that kind of money and every bit of it must come from the tax payer.

Cunningham’s comments are the same as the typical politician. He’s pandering to the masses, which is no different from when Barry Obama does it, or Jessie Jackson, or Bill Clinton. Cunningham knows that many of his listeners during the day are public servants. Cops have on 700 WLW in their cars as they sit on the side of the road watching for speeders. Teachers have it on in the teacher’s lounge, and firefighters having it on in the firehouses. Cunningham seems to have always cared more for pandering than the actual truth which used to make me mad, but like one of my readers told me the other day, Willie Springer has no credibility. He lost that a long time ago.  It’s important to know that Willie is a brand name to a creation.  He is a lawyer.  He has a restaurant in West Chester where many teachers, PTA members, and coaches of sports teams for Lakota attend, so there is profit in pandering.  That seems to be why he supports a levy in my district even though he doesn’t live there.  He’ll pay the extra tax for his business because the school pandering will fill the seats at his sports bar.  I often assumed that what he said he believed, because I would, but he’s no different from an actor in a movie or on a TV show.  He’s a radio personality who has attached his role as a lawyer to the public sector worker as his listeners, the “voice of the common man” even though he is wearing a Mercedes shirt, which tells much of the story in itself.  It’s a cute gig until he starts taking official positions, where he comes out sounding as foolish as Sean Penn or some other radicle actor.

I hired Willie about 15 years ago to be my spokesman for a line of T-shirts I was producing to help get out a message I had which stated, “TAKE AN AX TO OUR TAX.” We were making the shirts at cost during the 1996 election season to bring high taxes to people’s attention. Rob Portman actually bought one from me, and I took one down to city hall and gave it to Roxanne Quals, the mayor of Cincinnati at the time. Willie was hired to do our commercial which we ran on 700 WLW.

I was set to go on with Bill Cunningham during his 9 PM show on a summer Friday night. As I was headed to the station Cunningham had on a segment where he had strippers on doing a live strip show while Cunningham did play-by-play commentary. My wife told me, “This is the guy you’ve hired to be your spokesman?”

I said, “No, he’s a conservative. Willie is just doing this for ratings.”

My wife said, “And you’re going to go on behind this?”

I shrugged my shoulders.

“Doesn’t this compromise your message?” My wife said. “You hate Howard Stern because he has no ethics. You hate Jerry Springer because he’ll do anything for money. How is this guy any different? And you’re going to go on his show and let him pretend he’s a conservative. You’re going to acknowledge his existence? You’re going to even give him the time of day?”

I knew she was right, so we turned around and went home. I called his producer and told him that I wasn’t going to go on behind a room full of strippers. So Cunningham kept the girls in the studio till midnight, and they had a grand old-time laughing and carrying on. And from that day on, I knew that Cunningham the personality was not the same as Cunningham the man, which was very disappointing, because I wanted to believe in him.

In the video above, Cunningham has fantasies that his words actually carry weight, and there is a certain percentage of the population out there who would listen to advice from Jerry Springer, Howard Stern, or Bill Cunningham. Those types of personalities try to be everything to everybody, and actually believe in nothing. But then again, most lawyers are that way. They’ll believe whatever you tell them to, so long as the money is green.

However, this business of Issue 2 is serious, and people like Cunningham just muddy up the water with the revelation that he has always been a Democrat, and was only a conservative for the benefit of his show. They take advantage of the ignorance of the masses who are too busy with their lives to look into anything for themselves. Yet the spreadsheet above shows what the union supporters don’t want you to know, and that is “collective bargaining” has allowed too many people to make too much money. Getting pay increases in large groups is a concept that could only work in government. In the private sector it puts companies out of business. In government it causes tax increases.

Apologists attempt to pander to everyone so they hope to divert our attention to the corruption of the federal government and the war in Afghanistan which is terribly expensive, rather than what’s going on in our communities.  All they are doing is trying to divert attention from the immediate problems. I can’t do much about those federal issues, but I can in my backyard. And getting these public employee costs under control is my obligation to my community, not to get side-tracked on some diatribe by a radio/television personality. People like that are no different from politicians who will do anything or say anything for a vote.

In the end, whatever happens to Issue 2, the collective bargaining system will collapse on itself. If the unions get their way, they will be solely responsible for the catastrophe that follows. School levies won’t go away, and neither will police and fire levies they’ll keep asking for money to satisfy their collective bargaining contracts while the rest of us suffer through stagnate wages that have topped out. Issue 2 isn’t about fairness, it’s about survival, and those that are trying to get rid of it are no different from those soccer players who crashed in the Andes mountains portrayed in the movie ALIVE.

They ate their dead…………………and became cannibals.

I wonder what that officer really did to have the investigation actually bring about an indictment.  My question was why did that officer make so much money?  What was the evaluation process?  How many times was his life in danger the previous year?  What does he do from the start of his shift to the end?  The answer is we don’t know, because collective bargaining gives pay increases to all employees equally, so the evaluations done are just customary, since they have very little meaning to actual wages.  And that probably had something to do with why this officer wasn’t detected as a potential problem by his management, until something bad happened.  And that system will continue because people like Bill Cunningham are willing to give people like this a blank check of entitlement, which empowers these groups of public workers to believe they are far more important, and valuable than they actually are.

The Joan Powell School Board Scandal: A lesson of what not to do at Lakota

Darryl Parks of 700 WLW had my friends and me on to discuss many of the local school tax levies in order to compete on which school will get the full fury of the 50,000 Watt Flame Thrower known as The Big One in Cincinnati. That Flame Thrower of a radio station reaches 38 states and part of Canada so the prize is obvious. If you want to get out your message of a school system which needs to defeat its school levy, you want The Big One to broadcast your message. Listen to that broadcast here, which contains many very good points from school districts all over Southern Ohio.

At Lakota while this broadcast was roaming across the Eastern United States, mailmen were putting the letter you see below into the mail boxes of “select” supporters of Joan Powell, the school board president. Have a look at that letter for yourself.  The first thing that should send an alarm up your spine is that Joan chose to put pictures of her grandchildren on the letter, that always means there is something hidden underneath the surface of the message.

I get a lot of material from “school insiders.” In this business of digging for the truth you need such people to give you new information. Last year we had a few such people and they provided very valuable information such as the letter at the link contained here, which came from a principal at one of the schools after the levy was defeated.

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2010/11/10/lakota-principal-openly-complains-the-words-of-michael-holbrook/

It is always interesting to see what people who work for the district think when they believe that nobody is looking. Anyway, the “insiders” are a growing number of people who see that the situation they are employed under is wrong and they’d like out of the straight jacket they are forced to work under. Many of them do not want to be in a union and if Issue 2 holds up this repeal attempt, they can opt out of the union to be free to be employed without membership. But until that day arrives, they will achieve a level of rebellion against a system they disagree with by sending me information. This year there are more than a handful of such people. In fact, I have so many that I can hardly keep up with the material they send me.

And that’s how I got Joan’s letter, which went to selected members and staff who Joan thinks are her friends. The letter taken alone is not bad or illegal. But what it does show is that Joan is blaming many of the problems at Lakota on the school board “not getting along” and “divisiveness.” The letter is an endorsement letter for two members running for seats. Joan wants to see Julie Shaffer who has worked on the Pro Levy Campaigns in recent years including this latest one, and Jamie Green who actually used to be on the board and served as its president during the years of 2005-2009. (wait a minute…….isn’t that the period of time where the unions walked all over the school board during the labor dispute which caused this current financial crises?)…….YES!

I find this letter a very bad decision on behalf of Joan. As president she should understand that she is responsible for developing a “team” and playing games by eliminating other board members in favor of her “hand-picked” candidates is bound to cause trouble. As president of the board, it’s her job to build that unification, not blame members on their divisiveness. That’s called management. You may not like the people you are working with, but as president, it’s the job of leadership to pull everyone together. Not blast them apart. Chances are the new school board members will be Mark Etterling and Lynda O’Conner. I personally like Luke Hall in that mix if not this time, then for one of the next three seats that are coming available, Joan’s included. My question is what does Joan think will happen when Lynda gets re-elected and has to sit at the table with her, knowing that Joan attempted to get her booted off the board? Does Joan think that Jamie Green won’t become power-hungry for the presidency again, and won’t challenge Joan for leadership? What about Julie, who is quite smart, but is a tax and spend candidate? Joan knows where the problems are yet she picks two candidates who are pro levy candidates. She wants to go backwards. Does Lakota need more school board candidates to eat out of the hand of the union? Isn’t that what caused the whole budget crises? YES!!!!!!!!! It is!!!!!!! When $165 million dollars, (which is unofficially $250 million dollars) is not enough money and we have a school board president that says that’s not enough, and is openly campaigning for candidates who think just like her, I’d say the source of the problem is clear.

At a recent “meet the candidates” event I gave a review of who I’d like to see for school board, and Jamie and Julie are at the bottom of the list. They are not business friendly and believe that more taxes are the fix for problems they are tasked to manage, which isn’t managing at all. Anyone can balance a check book if the answer is to always inject more money, because what’s there to balance? You ask for more money till you meet your expenses. That’s their thinking, when it should really be to reduce expenses until the books are balanced, and that must come from the uncomfortable task of reducing the average salary at Lakota that is over $63K to the mid $50’s. That is hard, and it is obvious that Joan and her “pick of the litter” don’t have the mind to do it. (See my review here)

https://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/09/04/who-are-the-candidates-for-the-lakota-school-board-meet-them-before-the-2011-election/

Worst of all though from Joan is that short-sighted politicking she is engaging in for a job that pays little money, just pocket change for each meeting the school board has. Why? Are these people so desperate for attention that the title of school board president actually means something to them? Is it the power to control a multi-million dollar budget, probably? But I would have hoped that after all that has been discussed over these last two levy attempts that somebody would have learned something, and instead Joan is clinging to the failed model of the past which delivered us to this time and place. And that’s why not only her two picks need to be defeated, but Joan herself when her seat comes up in 2013. Only by electing good school board members who aren’t power hungry for the presidency and political games, can Lakota get its arms around the budget problems. The last thing we should do is tax ourselves more to put into the lap more money for these people to squabble over. The real answer is in systematically replacing these chatter boxes with legitimate, and caring people who will put the entire district into focus with good management, and not treat the school board like a girls club of levy supporters.

VOTE NO on the LAKOTA SCHOOL LEVY. Vote for any candidates except for Jamie Green and Julie Shaffer. And VOTE YES on Issue 2 so this school board can actually manage its costs in the future and not keep asking us to pass school levies while people like Joan toss that money into a bottomless pit called the Teachers Union.

And to back up these assertions, prepare to tune in to 700 WLW over the next three weeks, because the FLAME THROWER is coming in your direction at Lakota!

The NEA has it’s Finger on Senator Bill Seitz: How attorneys stand in the way of reform

There was a lot of dispute about the removal of Senator Bill Seitz from a key committee during the final days of the vote on Senate Bill 5 which would become Issue 2. See an interview from Seitz with Channel 9 who is from the Cincinnati area.

I didn’t know it at the time, and I think many people still don’t know it, but Bill Seitz is a labor attorney and has represented many police, firefighters and teachers and was not able to put his personal feelings aside for the passage of Senate Bill 5.

I’ve known a lot of attorneys, and one of the common tactics they use when they have a weak case is to drag their feet and extend out a case. And Seitz obviously blindly loyal to labor interests even though he sells himself as a conservative was not able to see Senate Bill 5 for what it was, a good healthy culture change for public sector employment. Seitz, the labor attorney, listed as one of the best in America, as you can see at the link below, looks to have sabotaged and watered down the impact of Issue 2 from the very beginning by loading it down with unnecessary politics, which went against the kind of reform Kasich and many in the house and senate were looking for.

http://www.taftlaw.com/attorneys/78-william-j-seitz-iii

To hear the real Bill Seitz, not the one that Bill Cunningham, a fellow attorney in brotherhood propped up as a champion in such high esteem, Brian Thomas asked far more probing questions. You can hear Bill Cunningham’s pandering interview with Seitz at this hot link. Just click on it. To listen to the Brian Thomas interview, click the video below. This video is just over an hour and right after the Seitz interview there is about a 30 second pause. Don’t worry about it; just let the video play, because the calls that follow are worth listening to. What was revealed later in the discussion was that in order to get Seitz booked for this Brian Thomas interview the NEA out of New Jersey had to be contacted to set it up. If that doesn’t send up the alarm flags, I don’t know what would? Seitz is heavily involved in unions and supports them completely. In the strategy of war, I’d refer to Seitz as a Trojan Horse.

When we talk among each other in plan talk around the water cooler, or around the grill, we refer to people who employ double talk as clowns because those entertainers clearly wear a mask to entertain, but when they aren’t in a circus, they take off their makeup to reveal who they truly are. Clowns are intended to be a derogatory term to imply that someone we are supposed to trust speaks out of both sides of their mouth. This isn’t a new concept. Betrayal of this kind is as old as human society.

In my opinion one of the greatest threats to our modern society has been the extraordinary quantity of attorneys our universities have produced. Those young attorneys encouraged into those fields by parents who wanted better for their children breed a society of legal professions with little to do but attempt to advance the divorce rate, which has destroyed the American family, create endless litigation from law suites which has driven up production costs, and created mountains and mountains of legal provisions of which only the attorneys can translate in government. They have destroyed “common sense.” Since many attorneys move into politics for stable income and networking opportunities, we have seen an endless stream of complicated laws created to provide future opportunities for professionals in the legal profession to serve as council in future court cases. It is the attorneys who have virtually destroyed America with paperwork and compliance.

It is the attorneys who are most against tax reform, because it was they who created all the deductions in the voluminous compliance code currently controlled by the Internal Revenue Service. The complicated tax code is on purpose. It is so that tax attorneys can sell their services to large companies to lower their tax rates by knowing what the dedications are. Having the tax code so large and complicated is to make it so only the attorneys can understand it. Attorneys hold the keys and must be hired to unlock the secrets.

When it comes to union reforms, which are greatly needed, it is now obvious that labor attorneys are more than willing to put their own self-interests above any reforms. In Seitz case, he openly agrees that there is a need for reform, but his underlining motive is to drag the situation out so he can play at reforming, but all the while continue to do his legal work for public employees. By reforming collective bargaining, it gives professional attorneys like Seitz less to do, and threatens their livelihood.

This is where the clown idea comes to play. While dressed as a clown, I cannot see the face behind the masks a politician wears and neither can most people. And it is not beyond comprehension that a liberal minded person may play at being a Republican in most facets of their life in order to secure a living for themselves. But you can see what the true motive of a person is by studying their behavior and in Bill Seitz situation, he is an attorney for labor, and is not about to go against his client base with Senate Bill 5. So Seitz needing to maintain the illusion of his act spoke in public that he supported 85% of Senate Bill 5, but he disagreed with 15%. But in actuality, he sought to lawyer the issue into years and years of discussion, gradually wearing down the initial reform until what ended up as a law that was a labor friendly bill and satisfied the objectives of his clients. The senate realizing this is what Seitz was doing removed him from the panel, so the bill could proceed.
At a recent debate over Issue 2, which you can see for yourself by CLICKING ON THIS HOTLINK, the firefighters brought up Seitz as a rally cry for their cause of repeal. They did this because Seitz is the “Republican” representative in the Senate. Seitz in the greater game of politics allowed conservative police and firefighters to also believe in the socialist tendencies of big labor, so they choose to fixate on his treatment during the passage of Senate Bill 5 as an unfair tendency of the collective-bargaining reform. But in reality Seitz planned to drag out the bill till his retirement, since as an attorney he doesn’t wish for any true reform since his first alliance is to that brotherhood of attorneys who represent public unions.

And this explains the behavior of Bill Cunningham on 700 WLW as well. In the brotherhood of attorneys, it is the mask of conservatism that they use for their act, but in reality when the make-up is taken off to who the individual truly is, the union of attorney brotherhood speaks of the true actions and now that Issue 2 for the first time in my adult life attempts REAL reform, it scares the people who have built their lives around the chaos of litigation.

This makes the modern attorney just as much an opposition to smaller government and any reform as any obvious threat like labor unions and other progressive organizations. In reality Issue 2 is summed up nicely in the below video.

Such a reform seems too good to be true, yet it is there, on the ballot. To have it all we have to do is to VOTE YES and finally some type of reform will be granted to us. For the people who signed their name to Senate Bill 5 which is Issue 2 on Ohio ballots, they did the first courageous act I can recall by any politician. Issue 2 is a way to cut out those who create a mess out of our public positions so they can skim money off the system. Of course those who have built their livings off that system will be angry, and those are the people who are against the bill and want to repeal it. But to keep Issue 2 all you have to do is vote YES, and see for yourselves that the world the attorneys would have you believe will not end, but will in fact be born again with better accountability and fairness for all, not just public worker unions and their attorneys.

The Typical School Levy Advocate: A fat woman in a dress….(A METAPHOR)

If your wife asks you, “Honey, does this dress make me look fat?” Then you, the husband answer as you can see the skin dimples pushing through the fine surface of the dress as it hugs her hips, “No, no, you look beautiful.” The husband has committed a sin. You told her she was beautiful when you know in your mind that the correct answer was, “Hell, no, you’re fat. You have let yourself go over the last ten years and I’m embarrassed to be seen in public with you.” The husband answers the way he does out of a duty to his wife that goes beyond truth. He is forced to put on blinders to the truth in order to share a life with this woman, who has gained 40 extra pounds, wants the ability to eat, and eat and eat, but still expects her husband to lust after her for sex. The man, to avoid fighting with his over-weight wife will tell her anything to shut her up and get her off his back, so he tells her, “No, the dress looks great………..dear.”

I see the same kind of behavior coming from these people who support school levies. They have the same level of truth behind their eyes as the man who lies to his wife to avoid a conflict. Case in point, witness the testimony from this woman in Lakota who is supporting the most recent school levy.

Parents who have kids in those delicate years of childhood, who are in their school years, are an insecure lot. They of course want what’s best for their children, and desire every opportunity for them. So they tend to trust the opinions of others over their own knowledge because after all, being a good parent takes experience, and how do you get experience but by raising kids. So during that process, parents tend to believe they can throw money at a “professional” to give them the added security that those professionals will be there to pick-up whatever they miss as parents.

The trend ends up making a voting adult who will believe anything these professionals say in hopes that they can achieve their aim at raising good children. To the parent who believes that by spending money on security, they are more than willing to put on blinders to the actual truth to achieve that security even if it’s false.

The truth is that the “professionals” the teachers, the administrators are actually quite fat and when they ask for a school levy they say, “Look how lean we are? Look how much money we saved? At Lakota, we are operating at less per pupil than other districts, so pay us more money. We are caring for your kids! Give us more money!”

The parents both working jobs and paying a lot of money for a house they bought just so they could send their child to Lakota is no different from the husband who is just trying to keep the peace with his wife. “Yes, you look good to me. How much do you need to do your job better?”

The obese professionals caring for our children then take that money given by the enabler and buy more junk food so they can become even more obese. And when the food runs out, they will come back and say, “I need more! I am a ‘big boned’ entity and I need to maintain this large body. I’m hungry. We need a new levy.” The enabler, the typical tax advocate will then say as the woman in the video said, “We need to pass this levy so we can have good schools, so we can maintain our excellence.” But the eyes don’t lie. The public can witness the dishonesty which resides there seemingly hidden. They can see what the enabler is really thinking. “Wouldn’t it be better if the school system wasn’t so obese? Wouldn’t the school be better if it was much thinner?” The enabler is just as guilty as the husband who tells his wife, “Yes honey, you look good. You’re not fat at all.” The husband knows that if he doesn’t tell his wife something to that effect then sex will come with difficulty, and it will be a pain-in-the ass to pass his wife in the bathroom or in the hallways of his home. And thus the levy advocates are in the same boat. They must pass these inflated professionals in the halls of the school their children attend and communicate with others in social events, so they put on the blinders so that they can endure the experience with some resemblance of sanity.

If I knew the husband and he introduced me to his wife at a dinner party and the wife wanting praise from me upon introductions would say in a flirtatious social banter, “Do you think this dress makes me look fat?” The husband knowing my reaction would cup his hand over his face and brace himself for the anger his wife would soon feel. “Please Rich Hoffman, do not say what I know you are about to say. Please for the sake of my life, don’t piss her off.”

I would look at the woman with her body attempting to bust out of her dress and ask, “Do you really want to know?”

The woman expecting praise as she fans her hands down her thighs to straighten out her dress doing her best to look sexy, “Of course, darling.”

I would then say, “My dear, your ass is fat and you are a pain to all the eyes of this room for you should have worn a potato sack rather than do that dress injustice by asking it to hide your blob-like body. There isn’t any amount of perfume, make-up, or cosmetic accessories that can hide the fact that you have visited the potato chip bag about 100 times too many!”

The husband would be breathing through his hands knowing that the hours and hours ahead of him would be spent repairing his wife’s fractured psyche. The wife would of course be upset and would storm off in anger. And I’d have to say as she was leaving, “You wanted the truth.”

It is customary in our culture to avoid hurting people’s feelings even if in doing so we might actually help the person. And this is the case of our current education system, where they collectively believe they are more important, more powerful and ultimately influential on a child’s life. The success of a child’s life comes from the static patterns the parent provides for the child. Education is a part of it, but so are the parents themselves and the grandparents, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The teachers themselves are just a fraction of the potential success of a child.

But the mentality of the parent who believes that education will fill all the voids that they as parents lack are the same as the obese woman who drinks diet soda, and then eats whatever she wants expecting to lose weight. It doesn’t work, and telling those people that they are better or more important than they really are doesn’t do them any good in life by feeding their minds with a false sense of worth, of which they then expect us all to pay with increases in taxes.

It’s not against the law, or even wrong to be overweight. But when one is indeed fat, but expects to be lied to in order to further their own waistline without the guilt of public ridicule, then crimes are committed when society must decide between the harsh reality of the truth, or maintaining the status quo in order to avoid conflict.
