Companies Aligned with China are Failing: It’s not a good idea to bet against America

There has been panic which I’ve explained before to those concerned about the amount of power corporations have.  The worry is that corporations will force us to accept vaccine passports to move around the country, that they’ll push us out of amusement parks if we don’t get woke policies, and that they’ll regulate our lives by generally denying us fun and happiness.  It is essentially the Chinese model that we are seeing play out in the opening days of the Biden administration. Companies like Disney and Coka Cola, who have global aims, have placed their bets that the way to those international markets is through the communism of China.  That is essentially the bet of the NBA, an organization made up of socialist players to go global China style.  So, they are ignoring American markets treating us like garbage because they are going for what they think is a bigger prize in the world of tomorrow under a one-world government ran by the United Nations and influenced by communism. That’s how we arrived here, but I have explained it a different way, and my bets are placed opposite of the international trend.  Those who are betting against America are going to pay for it in a big way. 

Now I love traditional Disney.  I think Walt Disney is one of the great entrepreneurs of our American history.  I have no problem sharing Disney with the rest of the world.  If Disney is broadcasting American values, it’s a great thing.  Disney the Man.  Not Disney, the corporation that woke leftists and Democrat presidential hopefuls now run.  I would offer that these new leaders of corporate Disney, Coke, and the NBA—among others—don’t know what they are doing and have over-leveraged their influence over the American population.  For instance, Disney thinks people are so hungry for their Disney+ service, their amusement parks, and their many restaurants and hotels that they will put up with crazy, radical communist policies in trade for fun.  I would offer that people reject those services in favor of freedom and that market pressures will shift away from those corporations to other options.  Such as Facebook and Twitter assumed that they would have control over the flow of information, but instead, options are erupting everywhere.  The Facebook model is now dying as we speak as well as Twitter.  Their influence is waning due to their activism against President Trump and his 70 million voters.  Disney is suffering the same fate; they are losing billions of dollars in their commitment to wokeness, and I don’t ever see them recovering.  Their decision to leverage their entertainment assets against American traditions is costing them as they speak, and the brand damage is incalculable. 

I have wanted to return to Disney World for a vacation, so I occasionally watch video vlogs of people who cover the parks in Orlando, and what they are reporting is embarrassing compared to my experiences in the past.  Disney World as a vacation spot has been one of the best locations on earth for entertainment.  Not only do they have a collection of the best rides that are anywhere, but they have great employees who carry the company message of happiness and enthusiasm for life.  But this move by the company to go full woke, to empower all the radical leftwing causes, the Black Lives Matters types, the gun grabbers, the rainbow gays on Disney characters, the transgender policies have ruined that positive employee interaction.  I didn’t help to shut down for Covid and never fully restaffing.  With the theme parks at a much-reduced capacity, waiting times excessively high only to be greeted with more and more Covid restrictions, the brand of Disney has been whittled away during the election year of 2020, and their gamble will not be paying off.  You can see it most in the many specialty shops that are closed and appear to be gone forever, the little chocolate shops and souvenir spots that are seldom ever open anymore because of the declined attendance.

This past week, Ron DeSantis in Florida removed all emergency Covid restrictions, so Disney cannot blame the government for its temperature-taking and mask mandates.  That is a liberal policy from the management of Disney as a company that wants to see central government restriction to get the payoff of a culture shift from America to China, where they placed all their bets.  And those bets are now in the multibillion dollars.  That is why they are trying not to show panic, but they look to have lost their pre-2019 market share forever.  The evidence was in the fan reaction to the Gina Carano firing from the Star Wars Mandalorian series because she came out on Twitter as a conservative.  The way that Disney fired her showed they have no idea what is driving market forces these days, and when Star Wars fans rebelled by canceling their Disney+ memberships, the company had to attempt to fix it by hiring her back, or at least to let the fans know they were thinking about it.  With Florida now without Covid restrictions, yet Disney insisting on keeping them going costing themselves even more billions by the month, there are many more Gina Carano-like concessions they will have to make in the future to attempt to regain market share.  That might help.  I might revisit the parks, but I’m not going to spend a lot of money there to see a bunch of closed restaurants, lines that are socially distanced, and having to wear a stupid mask in the hot Florida sun over a communist attempt at insurgency by the management of the Disney Company. 

That has been my message from the beginning of this woke attempt by companies to steer us into political directions.  Money rules, and they can’t cheat that vote.  People ultimately have the power over their corporations, and the best way to make them honest again is by hitting them in the pocketbook. Don’t buy their crap and watch how fast they give up their communist dreams.  They should have never listened to the China playbook.  The market share was never going to come from the East, and stealing it from America was never going to work.  It might have looked good on paper to people too stupid to ask the obvious questions.  But now, the dollars and cents are telling the story quite well.  It’s not just Disney either.  They make an excellent example because their brand is so well known and significant.  Watching them fall the way they have provides a glimpse into smaller corporations that are just as bad off but not obvious to the public.  The NBA gained popularity because of Larry Bird and the great competition with Michael Jorden.  People will be turned off by athletes taking up communist causes.  The corporations themselves do not set public policy; they are created to fulfill a public need.  And so long as they do that, they will make money.  When they think they can steer that policy, they will fail every single time.  The NBA has seriously damaged their brand, likely forever also.  It took a long time to build and only a few years to destroy.  Good luck in China, where they don’t have the money to support those types of endeavors, and they never will.  So, fret not; you have a lot more control over this wokeness than you think.  It’s already coming apart, so let it fall apart.  There are plenty of other things in life to do.  We don’t need companies that aren’t pro-American.

The Economic Stupidity of Biden and Democrats: A fourth stimulus check?

Joe Biden and Democrats are Economically Stupid

Without dipping into the waters of conspiracy, I have listened carefully to the liberals connected to Joe Biden after his speech to the two houses of congress and understand why Democrats have no idea how economics works.  Joe Biden was asked that very question during an interview: he thought it was a good time to do all these taxable progressive items when it might harm the economy or something to that effect.  His answer was, “why do you think the economy is coming back? Because we are investing.” I think when he said that, he believed it.  He and other Democrats believe that “taxes” are the same things as “investing.” Therefore, taxes are investments in our children, infrastructure, job creation, and the only way to prosper.  In another interview, Biden stated that only government could invest in highway building, railroads, and airports.  He disputed the premise that private industry would be able to do those things, so in that way, he justified the role government played in building the nation. 

As I said in the video above, all these ideas on economic theory came from the school of Karl Marx.  And Marx died dirt poor and broke in London where his family suffered a great deal while he hid in the British Museum studying past economy theory to derive what he and his buddy Engles came to invent in Marxism.  Liberals like Biden have been in government their entire lives and have never earned money they received but were just given it, spending their whole lives not learning the basic economic facts of reality.  Joe Biden has been given money by the government his entire adult life.  He has also been given many millions of dollars by foreign investment to conduct influence peddling, and like most Marxists, they think that is part of a healthy, manipulative government.  The more influence you can peddle, the more money that people give you.  So if you control the levers of power, you can get cash for your influence to peddle.  That is how it is in all communist and socialist countries and why Democrats will do anything to gain more government power.  They have come to understand the economic value through the power that can be peddled. But since they aren’t very smart about what creates money, they incorrectly associate its creation of value through government, not the effort of work and labor that comes from an idea generated by freedom.

Liberals are and will always be chained to Plato’s cave theory.  Democrats only see the shadows on the cave wall to refer to the famous metaphor.  They are broken in their first assumptions about how economies work, and they can lie to you with a straight face because they know of nothing else.  This is yet another reason why they must cheat in elections because they aren’t just trying to gain more power to peddle in influence trading. Still, they are hiding from themselves these fundamental facts of economic thought.  Joe Biden is working towards a universal wage given by the government to the people under it for their sustenance.  Work and effort are entirely foreign ideas to Democrats.  They think that all they must do to maintain an economy is to print more money, and like magic, the value will hold, which of course to any sane mind is preposterous.  Yet that is what Democrats like Joe Biden honestly believe, chased down with a swag of insanity.    

When you hear some of the costly proposals that the Biden administration has put forth, the billions here, the billions there, the billions everywhere that soon add up to trillions in additional debt, why don’t we forget about these measly $1400 checks?  Why not make them a billion for each man, woman, and child in America.  When governments can write checks of any number for anything they want, why not go that far or further.  Concerning other things they are doing and wanting to spend money on, giving everyone a billion-dollar stimulus isn’t crazy.  It would be cheaper than many of their proposals.  So why limit a stimulus check to only $1400—for control.  To give the dog the illusion of freedom when the invisible fence only lets you travel a few feet from the house?  That we are supposed to believe that economic stimulation means the kind of junk you can buy with such a small check, a few bags of Skittles, and maybe a big-screen television.  But then again, who wants to waste money buying a tv when you can steal one at the subsequent Democrat-led community riot over race relations?  We learned that too this week, what Democrats think of race relations when they pummeled Tim Scott, a black Republican, for speaking after Biden’s speech about the state of the union.  They called him Uncle Tim to lynch him for being Republican just like Democrats did when they owned slaves leading up to the Civil War.  It wasn’t North and South that fought in that war to free the slaves; it was Republicans against Democrats. 

All this shows how dangerous ideas can be to stupid people who don’t have enough personal constitution to resist grabbing power over others to fulfill the fantasy of their sheer stupidity.  For the reasons I stated in the video, Joe Biden and other Democrats like Karl Marx start in the world as failures based on their thoughts.  Marx was a lazy guy who was looking for a way to bend the world to his sentiments.  Marx didn’t want to work as hard as Cornelius Vanderbilt and others did at that same time to acquire wealth and power. Marx wanted to sit in the British Museum contemplating history and theory. I’ve been to the spots where Marx studied so that I could understand something of his insanity on the subject.  I walked the streets around the area there, trying to understand how a person like Marx could have arrived at the ridiculous notions about the economic value created by the idea of communism, which has then poisoned the world terribly.  Lazy people love communism, and let’s face it, many people in the world are good for nothing and lazy to their core.  They have in Marx a means of gaining power in government and using that power to trade influence.  But like Joe Biden, who never learned the lessons of proper economic conduct and value, Democrats continue to embarrass themselves to the eyes of people who do know better. 

It is an honest assessment and not just hyperbole to suggest that Democrats are just lazy and stupid, especially when making and maintaining money.  For Biden to present with a straight face that taxation is an investment and that the more you do, the more you are investing for a better society is insanity on the level of Captain Nemo.  And we are expected to follow this insanity toward our destruction.   Never mind that Joe Biden and his investors who have propped him up are like every James Bond villain in the history of movies.  Of course, the villains never see themselves as such; they always think they are saving the world by killing everyone in it.  Or it is controlling them for their own good only the villains can see through insanity.  That is the real danger of Marxism.  It allows for such fantasies to exist in the minds of the stupid and lazy because it prevents any performance from seeing the light of day, and the rules of economic theory to permeate where it would otherwise not survive without a massive government to hide its faults from itself.  And suppose anybody thought Joe Biden was stupid before this point of referred time. In that case, they know they have confirmation of it by his mouth, and the notion of a fourth stimulus check to keep the monsters of opinion residing under the water for just a while longer.

The Democrats Hate Profit: Working against the American Flag for change none of us want

When people ask me why I am writing a book about business, specifically about the necessity of executive culture in all places of employment, called The Gunfighter’s Guide to Business, well, the debates by the Democrats that have taken place over two days during this past week tell the whole story. There are many aspects of American culture that have been pulled into this anti-profit path that was very obvious during the debates, and for those who do get it, they have forgotten why profit is important to our culture and really don’t know how to defend it from criticism. So, I feel compelled to help settle the matter any way I can. Although I have been talking about the socialist slide of Democrats for many years, and how our schools and most government interactions support the Marx theories, even I was surprised how open the Democrat candidates were to reveal themselves as socialists, perhaps even communists. Times have certainly changed and I’m not at all happy to have been proven right on the matter.

Profit is not a dirty word; it is a method of payment. Profit is how a company gets paid for services rendered, after they’ve covered all their other expenses. There needs to be something to benefit their time and energy on whatever it is they are making. If they are rich, then that means that lots of different people, or companies want to give them profit for the offerings they provide. Yet at the core of the Democrat platform that protests against the notion of profit is that very value system that points out good work from bad conduct. Bad conduct isn’t very profitable, so that value system is something that Democrats wish to get rid of, so they can continue to build a dependent class of people who will always vote them into power and if you think about it the whole notion of such a thing is disgusting.

Getting back to President Trump’s assertion that people who protest the American flag and the motives of American life should go back to wherever they came from, whether they are first generation immigrants or third, if you are not honoring the American flag and what it stands for, then probably you should go to a country that endorses your political theory. Because as American citizens we all have an obligation to at least agree on the basic foundations of American life and what they are. And what they are is that we are a for profit country that is always looking to expand as an economy. If we can’t agree on that basic thing, then we can’t be said to all love America. I don’t think people who protest the idea of profit could be said to love their country, not if all they want to do is to change it into something else.

I don’t think Democrats were always this way, I grew up around a lot of farmers and many of them were what we might call Kennedy Democrats. They were certainly flag waving Americans, they understood market prices for their crops and the needs to save up money to buy a new tractor or some chickens so they could have eggs because a fox got into the chicken coup. There may have been some of these Marxist type Democrats out there in the world, apparently in our universities and larger education system, but we didn’t see them at parades on the 4th of July and at Memorial Day festivities. This hatred for American profit is a new thing that I would say comes directly out of our education system and has been a massive failure based on how much tax money we have wasted trying to educate our next generation youth. If the result of all that money is what was on stage this week with Democrat presidential candidates, then the whole experiment has been a massive waste of time.

The debates were supposed to be a kind of job interview for an executive seat in our government to manage the country. It’s a CEO job in official function and the candidates should have treated it that way. But if you are all about anti-profit, then you really aren’t wanting to do the job as an American CEO of a high government title. You can’t have a political philosophy that wants to undo everything then turn around and declare that they deserve an equal seat at the table of consideration if what they are proposing seeks to destroy the country we all love. And that’s essentially what the Democrats want to do. Why would you want to change something that has worked so well for so many people? Their argument is that it doesn’t work for all people. Well, show me some other place in the world that does do better for all people, where so many diverse people can come together as they do in the United States and accomplish anything, let alone the most powerful economy on the planet. And the reason for all that goodness is that America is a country that supports profit, the work done by people well and are rewarded for that work in such a fashion.

Secretly what Democrats want is for the government to decide winners and losers for the power of the vote, not for the effort of hard work and good conduct. When they protest profit, they are protesting a reward system that promotes good behavior instead of a centralized authority. When the government is big and has the power to give out wages whether earned or not, we have fundamentally changed the nature of America into something else and that is a grounds for conditional action on behalf of those who love our flag as it is today.

I associate with lots of different people every day. Some of them come from all over the world and have lots of different ideas about how things should be. I talk to liberals even though they have values that seem like they belong on another world. And I know lots of people who call themselves conservatives at all places along the degrees of value. But what they all have in common which makes them so I can at least speak to them is that they understand profit and loss. None of the people on the debate stage for the Democrat representative for the Executive Branch of our government did, they were completely unrelatable and it makes you wonder if they are even aware of it. You would think they would be. But maybe they are so out of touch that they just don’t get it. And these are the best that Democrats have to offer?

It is further astonishing that this same group of people have made it so that we can’t even talk and that people like me are considered radical by their crazy definitions for things. Again, it is the education system that has paved the way for this mentality but when it comes down to real people working and living in the real world, the support doesn’t go too far for these radical ideas. So why do they have them? Because they just don’t get it? Or that they are so radical and polluted in their educations that they can’t see the forest for the trees? Or perhaps, and this is what I think, they simply hate America and want to destroy it for us all. That is the question of this election and our tolerance for it will be decided on election day.

Nothing is Too Expensive

With all this talk recently about capitalism and socialism, which is something I have spent a lot of time thinking about, there is another component to the puzzle for which nobody ever speaks about, and that is the driving force of ambition. What makes a society better or worse than some other is the amount of people who exhibit, and act upon their ambitions. And for that I would argue that a capitalist society has more people in it who are ambitious which drive it forward, and are therefore critical to the success of any culture. To that sentiment, there is a good way to measure that type of health and that is in how people spend money and how they measure themselves against the value of money.

When a person says, “well, that’s too expensive” what they are really saying is that they lack the confidence or gusto to step up and put forth the ambition to gain access to something of value. What I’m not saying is that you should spend yourself into oblivion to have something just so you can show off and pretend that you have value among your peers, and that you fake ambition with credit. But when it comes to a house, a certain car, a vacation—or in my case guns that you may want to get where the temptation is to say that the item is too expensive and not worth the effort, what you are announcing to the world is that you do not have the ambition or desire to obtain that object.

To me nothing is too expensive in the world. The question is, do I really want to put forth the ambition to obtain it? It’s not whether or not the object is out of my reach. The question of whether it is or isn’t is the path to the socialist side of things because it assumes that only certain classes of people can have the wealth to buy that certain house, or certain car. But in the capitalist society if I want to buy a golf course or a skyscraper, I should be able to, and have the freedom to. So when I hear that someone thinks something is too expensive what they are really saying is that they lack the will to do the work necessary to obtain the goal.

I have heard really good people I’ve known all my life say these kinds of things. I come from a family of farmers on both sides, and that is to say people of humble means. They said all the time that this little thing or that little thing was too expensive. Much of that came from their Christian backgrounds where meekness, and humble recognitions are traits to pursue so by saying that a new Mercedes is too expensive for them to drive they are really trying to advocate what good people they are in Biblical value, compared to the materialist who works all day and night just to have a fancy car. A lot of the values we have about material wealth and the acquisition to it come from these types of beliefs, and socialism is always there like a lusting demon to siren song all of society into the crashed rocks of a lack of ambition. By saying something isn’t worth the money even if an individual yearns for it, is to declare that they do not have the value or confidence to pursue the object. The object only represents pent-up desire. The effort to obtain it is the fuel that drives culture. And when a society functions after such pursuits then we can say that we have a society of values because the material objects then represent effort.

When we rob ourselves of such value as a civilization, we are then declaring that the here and now is a transitory phase and that death is our ultimate goal. Such people say, “why bother, you can’t take it with you.” That is a person and a society that is on the decline and often they try to mask such efforts behind their religious beliefs aimed at the afterlife. After all, how can they be penitent if they are working their fingers to the bone to have a new 85” flat screen television? They may want the object but in all reality they like thinking about death more so their aim is to dig one more shovel full of dirt closer to their own grave to hide their inherit laziness. And that is the way of things.

I don’t buy things for status symbols and most of what I do spend money on is for things that I do with my family. But the things I do spend money on, that have value to me I never say it’s too expensive and let that be the guide that drives me away from an object. There are of course times where things are too expensive because the seller is trying to rip you off, which is a different discussion. But in planning a big trip with a family, or buying that new gun, which are the types of things that I personally value, cost never enters into the picture. I’ll do whatever I have to do to get what I want. I’ll work any amount of hours so that I can have the privilege of obtaining the object. I never see something as too expensive, even if its millions of dollars. If I want it, it’s up to me to get it. Not some excuse like religious meekness, or social structure assumptions. Capitalism frees us of these limits and those who are scared to have their laziness revealed are the same ones who decry capitalism—because of it. There is no class structure limiting us under the flag of capitalism.

In American culture even if your father was a loser and your grandparents were idiots, you are not confined to follow in their path. If you want you can work hard, gain some money, and buy an SUV decked out with all the goodies, the same way that a top executive for a big company can. The question is do you want to match the efforts it takes to obtain such a thing. In my personal life as much as I talk about individualism, I pour a lot of that effort into my family, because ultimately if you really care about them, your influence leadership is to their benefit and that makes me happy. I don’t care what others think of me, but I care what I think of me. So when it comes to family I spare no expense. Not at all, because my value for them far exceeds any limits of effort on my part. There simply is no limit and it shows the way I live and spend money. Of course you have to decide if you want to spend money on this thing or that thing because money isn’t infinite. But if you focus your efforts, you should be able to buy anything, nothing should ever be considered too expensive.

It’s just a little thing to consider but I hear it all the time and it’s always wrong in the context of the individual pursuit of obtaining material objects. When people say something is too expensive what they are really saying is that they don’t think themselves worthy of that effort and their own ingrained meekness is speaking as an excuse not to even try. And that is how you get a declining culture, when people stop trying.

Why Socialism Fails: The science of political and economic structures is completely dependent on autonomy

I’ve been writing about the coming of socialism in America for a very long time. In some ways, many ways its been with us since just before the presidency of FDR. But it has been a bad word in our capitalist economy, and for good reason. Yet many people really don’t understand why. It’s not enough any more to say that socialism doesn’t work, look at Venezuela. Now that it is essentially the platform of the Democrat party and so many kids have been taught socialism openly in public schools over the last couple of decades its time to explain exactly why socialism doesn’t work and why all countries should avoid it, especially these days because the world is actually growing more independent not more collectivist. Socialism is an old fantasy that took over a 100 years for the political left to spring into the light of day in the most powerful country on earth but they are about 20 years too late. Here’s why:

I was driving next to a person the other day who could not get off his cell phone. My first thought was that he could and should wait at least until he came to a stop light to do so much texting, but he was really engaged in his phone which reminded me of the question many have these days, why do people like their phones more than they enjoy talking to a person who is right in front of them. The answer is simple really and can best be understood in the great book on psychology called Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. The reason people spend more time on their cell phones than with real people is purely because of autonomy, the ability people have to control their own destiny on a moment to moment basis. Often in direct contacts with other people individuals do not control all aspects of the conversation, and often the people present represent varying degrees of less personal autonomy including subject matter, the pace of a conversation, and even how the other people smell as their breath enters into your own lungs by inadvertent biological necessity just by being in close proximity with them. Whereas a smart phone puts the whole world and everything that has been learned in it literally in the palm of your hand and allows you to control the pace of a conversation. If someone sends you a text, you decide how long to answer if at all and it gives the user great autonomy and unlimited creativity which is the primary motivator of all human beings. Four main things have ignited in modern human beings a great revolution in the need for more personal autonomy, the smart phone, the explosion of the video game industry as a means of personal recreation, smart televisions and the decentralization in general of all entertainment options, and the use of personal transportation such as cars, motorcycles and even airplanes. Because of these four factors, and I’m sure we could break down even further, but socialism will never take hold again in an industrialized country.
Socialism in the modern sense, at least the way governments try to sell it to people is that essentially free pay checks not connected to any kind of real performance is attractive because it allows people not to worry about how they pay their bills so that they can think with more autonomy what they really enjoy in life. But the ways ultimately that people actually receive those paychecks is to essentially give up great autonomy in the factors that truly generate wealth so every nation that has tried socialism fails due to this condition. People may get a pay check but the work that is performed that generates wealth lacks the creative need for humans to contribute to it, and is missing making those workers much less effective than people who are performing those tasks with great autonomy. The key to all future economic growth in all nations isn’t to just give a pay check to workers who go through the motions of a job title with the same mundanity that they communicate with other people when a smart phone gives them freedom of autonomy to do and say what they want to other people when they want to. Those same traits need to be brought into the marketplace of employment in order to continue with efforts at nationwide economic expansion.

The problem in America is obvious because there is a free market system to serve as a backdrop. Socialism that we see in labor unions is much less effective than an industry where the workers have great autonomy in the work they do. The love of work for instance in a unionized school teacher who has a class full of children in kindergarten is much happier and autonomous compared to the history teacher of high school kids who aren’t as bright-eyed and willing to learn as the five-year old’s. With the labor union mandating collective bargaining and taking away incentives for personal performance and all other things being equal what makes a job happy or not for the employee is the degree for which they have autonomy. The kindergarten teacher is likely to spend the night before a class cutting out little pictures and words that might ignite learning in the children because they will react to it positively and feed the autonomy of the teacher whereas the history teacher knowing that the students will be more interested in dating, playing on their cell phones, and what they are going to wear the next day might only manage to make a cup of coffee for themselves in order to get autonomy in their jobs as misery looms over most of their lives due to those conditions.

Socialism fails because jobs are collective based and measured instead of the individualized results of productivity and the joy of creating and doing the task. Socialism robs individuals of their autonomy in performing work so it destroys the actual output of the task. When the only reason a person shows up for work is to just get a paycheck the reason for having a worker there in the first place is lost—employers might as well hire a robot, they’d be better off. People need autonomy in their jobs and where that personal freedom for performing a love in work is lost, productivity is destroyed and a culture dies, since culture is entirely made up of human input. Humans are thinking creatures and they require autonomy to bring about what’s unique about them to a marketplace and they need the ability to figure out what that is so they can get there. Socialism is too rigid of a structure and is entirely too social for autonomy to exist and that is why it has always failed and will always do so.

Autonomy in the world of productivity is the most important ingredient. Where great autonomy exists in workplaces, great productive output is common. Where a loss in autonomy is prevalent, a stagnant workplace will result. It doesn’t matter what industry it’s in or where in the world the work is performed, if autonomy is part of the management, companies and nations do well. If autonomy is controlled, the company and nation fail. It’s not that people in Venezuela conspired to hurt the government by not being as productive. Its that they lost their autonomy for performing work because of the means of instituting socialism even when the nation is sitting on vast resources for creating wealth. When the government took away the incentive to think freely on how to use those resources for the creation of wealth the ability to do so became impossible because humans cannot function well without autonomy, and socialism robbed the entire culture of that essential ingredient. Socialism can’t be made to work under any form of government management, it was an idea created by Karl Marx who clearly was illiterate in these understandings of psychology. But we’ve learned a lot about ourselves over the years. Socialism was pretty attractive to people who still had to hunt for their food and wash their clothes by hand, or couldn’t just go down to McDonald’s to get a hamburger when they were hungry. As people gained more autonomy in their lives through leisure time, they wanted more of it which is why we’ve had such explosive growth intellectually by way of invention in the last century as opposed to every century that came before it. But in the 21st Century autonomy is the expectation and if our jobs don’t factor that into their plans, they will have miserable work forces and therefore much less productivity which is the purpose for doing work. That is why socialism fails, because it destroys personal autonomy and the good work that comes with that invisible ingredient to anything that might be considered successful.

Why We are Lucky to be Able to Vote for George Lang: Issue 1, and the pro-crime Democrats

 

There are a number of reasons to vote for George Lang to keep the 52nd House seat that he currently holds in Columbus, Ohio. One of the most obvious is that George has an ambition to make Ohio one of the most business friendly states in the United States which says a lot considering some of the states in America and their relationships with business. George understands that economies are not grown from the middle out, but from the top down. The “middle class” that liberals are always talking about is created by jobs. Without jobs there isn’t anything for a middle class to do. I don’t even like the term “middle class” because it assumes that some people are under other people and that just isn’t the way humans think generally, but in politics it’s an established term that Democrats use to describe people they want to rule over. George Lang is one of the few people I know who truly understands this relationship between people and business, and he is ambitious to allow business development to improve the lives of everyone around them. If it was only for George Lang’s pro-business stance, he would be the best person that you could hope to vote for anywhere in the country on November 6th 2018. I like a lot of people who are up for election this year, but nobody as much as George Lang. However, what really makes George special is his positions on firearm ownership, particularly Ohio’s need to have a stand your ground law.

Currently the way Ohio’s laws of confrontation are written they favor a duty to retreat in hostile situations which greatly favors the ambitions of the malicious. If the intentions of Ohio’s Issue 1 are added under the potential of the Democrat running for governor against Mike DeWine this is very dangerous for individual liberty for all Ohioans. Democrats under Issue 1 want to empty prisons and put criminals back on the streets, and obviously that will lead to more crime for which the people being threatened have a “duty to retreat.” That makes absolutely no sense, but as Ohio law is written now, and under the empowerment of liberalism, from RINO Republicans like John Kasich and extreme liberals like Sherrod Brown Democrats are poised to really make Ohio a dangerous place, due to the intent behind the legislation they support. Like their poor economic theories of growth from the inside out which is completely foolish, Democrats believe that people can and should be reformed instead of separated from those who aspire toward value. The only way to make that relationship work is to bring down the value of everyone so that the criminal and social lunatics can have a seat at the table of society. Issue 1 assumes that the prison represents a value judgment for which Democrats resent, that criminals are a lower class of people as judged by other people. This is the same reason there are liberal “duty to retreat laws.” If you really get down to what a typical Democrat believes about guns and the potential of gun violence it is that using a gun to protect yourself or your property is reprehensible because it denies the desires of other people to share in what you have should they desire it. That is why essentially all Democrats are pro crime candidates, because they desire shared assets in society as opposed to protection of individual rights—in every circumstance.

People who look at my Instagram page, and my many other social media platforms might refer to me as a gun nut, which I am a long way from being. If the news did cover me in a story, they would say that I have an obsession with guns, which from their perspective is a very dirty thing. But truly I see guns as a huge philosophic achievement in the context of human existence. Their invention and implementation on a personal basis have advanced society in tremendous ways and is the essential foundation to everything concerning law and order. Without personal ownership of firearms, America would not be the great country that it is. If you really peel back the layers of American society into what makes it great, it is personal gun ownership. Everything else trickles off that essential foundation, just like the basic economic theories of a pro-growth GDP, from the top down, guns ensure that laws are followed, and that laws are intended to protect personal property—not the property of the state, but the property of the individual.

When we talk about our nation being more divided than ever this is essentially what we are experiencing, the idea of state property and individual property. Democrats want the state to control all property and to issue out fairness whereas Republicans believe in the protection of individual property. That leaves the ambitious to outwork the lazy and some people ultimately own more property than others. Some who don’t want to work for their ownership of property rationalize that as criminals they can steal from others, which deep in their hearts is a very Democrat way of thinking, which is why Issue 1 is supported by extreme liberals like Richard Cordray and why Ohio generally has laws of confrontation that favor a “duty to retreat.”

That is why George Lang is such a great Ohio representative. He understands this basic philosophical premise which most people don’t. He’s not afraid to go into a gun store like the great one in Liberty Township, Ohio–Right 2 Arms (I buy most of my guns from them) and give a statement about his support of “stand your ground laws” which means that gun owners do not have an obligation to retreat in a conflict. It is at the point of implementation the best way to deal with criminal behavior and when criminals are contained, business owners are hungry to expand economic activity. One goes hand in hand with the other. It is not a coincidence that America has more guns in it than people. And it also has the greatest economy in the world with no country even coming in a close second—especially not communist China. When I promote guns in my social media it is not to show a love of power and the ability to inflict death, it is in support of the tool which makes economic expansion happen. Without the gun there would be no order in American society. In places around the world where guns are illegal in every case social behavior is greatly scaled back and the loss of ambition which naturally cascades off that mental aptitude destroys free enterprise and the hope of acquiring wealth through economic expansion and the entire country suffers. I’m thinking of England as I write this.

George Lang understands this complex relationship between personal firearms and business expansion, and as a state representative he will support both. If Ohio can manage to get a real Republican governor there is a real chance at getting “stand your ground laws” implemented in the near future. When gun owners and concealed carry holders do not have an obligation to retreat, criminals lose a great deal of their power and in Ohio, a state that actually is considering Issue 1 where criminals can be released from jail and thrown back into society to fulfil the insanity of Democrat thinking, the basic foundations of gun ownership are all that keep a pro-growth state economy a possibility for the future. That is one of the main reasons that George Lang is one of the best Republicans in the country that anybody could vote for and if you are in the 52nd House District on election day, you are very lucky indeed to have the ability to vote for him.

The Millennium Falcon at NKU in Cincinnati: A look into penetrating the frontier of space

A17A55B5-5A01-4ECC-9F65-FC439E915ADFThe first thought I had while touring The Millennium Falcon Experience at the Northern Kentucky University campus was that this fictional ship from the Star Wars stories would be the best way to travel from Earth to Mars, or the moon and some more distant destination within our solar system. I thought of Jules Verne’s great book From the Earth to the Moon where he conceived of the rocket design that would be used 100 years later when NASA would eventually launch people into space and land on the moon. Star Wars was much more than just geek fandom. While I had personally thought about sitting in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon from the movies most of my life, and never thought I’d ever get a chance to actually do so, when the time did come I couldn’t help but think of real space travel using the actual design of the Millennium Falcon to serve as a foundation for a fleet of ships that would take commercial space travel to the next level.

I have been enjoying all this Han Solo media ahead of the new movie coming out on May 25th. Han Solo and his Millennium Falcon are some of my favorite fictional things in entertainment so I have been looking forward to a movie dedicated just to him and his famous starship. When I was a kid and was watching these movies for the first time I’d spend a lot of hours thinking of how to build the Millennium Falcon and trying to figure out the engineering of it. Obviously, I wasn’t alone, millions of people have been so enamored. It is a wonderful thing to see imaginations sparked to life by what they see in a movie. Over the years there have been attempts to build elements of the Millennium Falcon by the legions of fans that follow the Star Wars movies and I have enjoyed their attempts. Most notably I have been very excited to learn that a full-sized Millennium Falcon will appear at the new Disney Parks called Galaxy’s Edge. I was one of the first in line to see the exhibit at NKU on Friday at 11 AM. I’m a very busy person but not too busy to see the interior of the actual Millennium Falcon as it goes on a five-city tour promoting the new Solo: A Star Wars Story all through the month of May. The Millennium Falcon is after all my favorite ship in science fiction and this whole tour started in my home town, so I had to take a moment to go see it, and it was quite impressive. It was really cool to visit the cockpit that was only seen in the movies from a few points of view, which have become iconic over the years. But it didn’t take long for the nostalgia to wear off for me and to look at the display put on by Lucasfilm as a film promotion to begin to take it all very seriously.22A06ED2-4BFA-4A6E-8D7B-95B09621330C

What’s really unique about this new film set before the events of the original movies is that the Millennium Falcon is presented not as a hunk of junk, but as the best and most exquisite of ships from its era. The Millennium Falcon becomes a junkie star ship because of the rough lifestyle of Han Solo, but this new movie goes to the start of all that, before a time when the popular Star Wars character owned the ship. As presented the Millennium Falcon was well made and bright white looking like an icon of luxury. It looked like the ship I remembered from my childhood only it looked much better. When I think of the Millennium Falcon I think of a dirty interior of a couple of friends living without women flying from one end of the galaxy to the other and not carrying to clean up after themselves. But presented the way it was for this promotional tour, the Millennium Falcon looked like a realistic offering for our own modern space travel.1C6066F4-14CD-4858-A108-532E87172C9A

It is a little ironic to me that it was the year of 2018 that Disney’s acquisition of the Star Wars franchise seems to start paying off. I think this new Solo movie will be one of the most popular and will ignite a fresh start for the popular films. It’s the first time that there have ever been two Star Wars films within one year of each other and the impact that has had on merchandising has been remarkable. It’s hard to go to Wal-Mart or Target these days without seeing something regarding Star Wars. And all this is happening as commercial space endeavors are literally starting to take off. Later this year Virgin Galactic will begin their commercial flights for space tourism and Space X is preparing to send people around the moon. All this is happening while a Trump presidency has thrown its weight behind a reinvigorated NASA space program and a hot economy that is redefining employment statistics. The iWatch has essentially turned us all into Dick Tracy speaking on the phone to others from our wrists, things are moving very quickly these days.

I find it all very exciting. It won’t be long before Elon Musk has a colony on Mars and commercial industry begins to move into space. The next 50 years will explode along the frontier of space much like it did in America once humans began westward expansion free of European kings for the first time in known history. Space will bring much of the same ambition for adventure and profit. But people won’t want to fly in the kind of cramped quarters that we see with ship designs so far offered. Likely we’ll resort to what we know from films and literature, and the Millennium Falcon looks to me to have solved many of those long-distance space traveling problems.

You can make a starship in really any design you want, what you’ll need for long distance space travel is something that humans are comfortable in, that can use its external surfaces to generate power and have lots of surface area for controllable thrust. The design of the Millennium Falcon presents a lot of options for hauling freight to and from places like Mars over 18-month visits one way. Sitting in the cockpit and forgetting about the hyperspace jumps we see in the movies it wasn’t hard for me to consider spinning the Falcon to produce gravity until it arrives at its destination around Mars. Hooking up to whatever cargo it needs to bring back to earth then resuming that spinning effect all the way back with the crew living in relative luxury inside the whole time. Because of Star Wars we have a whole generation of people who are intellectually ready to accept such a deep space reality.

The Millennium Falcon’s interior as it was presented at NKU was certainly something I could live in for the long back and forth journeys to Mars that are about to become quite a reality. The Millennium Falcon already has practical docking clamps as part of its design. Solar panels could easily be incorporated into the outer shell to provide power and the interior is large enough to not go crazy in over such a long voyage. It’s round and interesting taking away the boxy designs that are offered in the International Space Station which is not conducive for long periods in space where people want to gather in a common room, but also want to be able to have their personal space as well. People need to get away from each other as well as communicate in common ways. The Falcon’s interior design goes a long way to solving lots of deep space traveling problems for a functional freighter.

Looking at that exhibit at NKU I could easily see some eccentric future billionaire building a fleet of Millennium Falcon style ships to essentially become like tractor trailers hauling rare minerals from the moon and Mars to enrich life on earth then use that wealth creation to catapult mankind even deeper into space. I could live on the Millennium Falcon with the amenities that were presented in the exhibit for many months, even years on end. Normally when we see designs for space, the environment has a military look to everything which makes it so that only the most disciplined space travelers could endure the experience. But that will have to change, and it is in our science fiction designs. 22DE3546-0899-498D-BBEB-53258B13B08CTo me the most impressive thing about the Millennium Falcon Experience was that after only 50 years of film history fans of the movies have finally figured out how to make the ships that were shown in Star Wars, and now artists and craftsmen are able to actually recreate what we see in the movies in real life. The next steps become rather obvious at that point and that is truly exciting. The Millennium Falcon Experience at NKU advertising a new Han Solo movie was something I personally never thought I’d see. But after seeing it, and touching it, and soaking it all in—I have a feeling that we will all be seeing a lot more of it in the years to come. As I left that exhibit I had the strange feeling that I may just own my own Millennium Falcon in a few years that can fly to Mars and back many times over as routinely as we can now drive to Florida now in a car. And I think I would like that world very much!

When School House Rock, Rocked! A Time Capsule into the Past

If you want to see just how far the Progressive Movement has penetrated our culture all you have to do is look at School House Rock, from the 1970’s.

When I was a kid, I watched Saturday morning cartoons religiously; Hong Kong Phooey, Captain Caveman, and Land of the Lost were among my favorites.

Back then, sometime around 1974 to 1980 it was almost a guaranteed expectation that one of the below School House Rock video’s would air during commercial breaks.



These were useful and entertaining and helped a growing generation to understand their role in the country they lived in. You won’t find these types of cartoons produced today however. Instead, you get the Tides Foundation’s Story of Stuff, which is now shown in schools with public tax dollars supporting the progressive agenda.

When modern day educators and parents that are using public education as a convenient day care facility, or a chance for their child to get a scholarship using sports supplied by the school as a platform to exhibit their skills to colleges in hopes of getting a scholarship which will save that family some costs of higher education, keep in mind that this mind-set is only one generation old. School House Rock is a time capsule into a period before the effects of Progressivism had gained a firm footing in our country. The signs were emerging, but in our arrogance, we did not pay attention.

But now we’re awake.

It only takes a generation to destroy everything. It can take decades to rebuild.
