Shifting Gears: No more sugar-coating

There comes a time when an endeavor is stopped in its current form due to the achievement of objectives, or the mundane performance of stagnation. In my case, stagnation is not the villain. Even by my standards, I have written a staggering number of articles with the intention of help elevate the mind of the reader with news they were not, or could not get in the general media. By all counts I have achieved my objectives. The antagonists who first poked me into this journey have been crushed by intellectual merit, and the populace has noticed. The political landscape in southern Ohio has changed in part due to this blog at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom and now decisions must be made on how best to continue.

I am no longer the only game in town doing the job of citizen journalism. I have covered issues from corruption in my local school to the psychology of nations in order to frame properly the toils of our day. And I have been able to do this from thinking way out in front of the quality train, which is where the news is. I see and understand things by nature well before the people in the caboose do, so at first the things I say and do may not be understood until the caboose travels over the same landscape as the engine where I reside. The longer the train, the greater the difference, and time it takes for the caboose to arrive at the terrain judgment of the engine. But I am no longer the only person in the engine room. Joining me are several new minds who I’d like to introduce at this time.

I have always enjoyed young people, and have mentored many. I do not worry when I see there are people who wish to duplicate or improve upon whatever I am doing. I do not feel I must cling on to my post and preserve my monopoly, because if I felt that way, it would defeat my original intentions. To do so would be to suppress innovation and improvement for the lackadaisical ownership of domination, which points to most human problems. It is my job to continue leaning way out on the horizon to see what nobody yet can, and am happy to pass those skills along to whomever wishes to learn, because ultimately that’s how everything improves. In the world of blogging, and citizen journalism there are three young people all about the same age who have read what I was doing and wanted to apply their own skills to the task.

The first person is my son-in-law. For much of the time that I started Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom he chomped at the bit to get on the battlefield and help. But he couldn’t because he was not yet an American citizen, not until January of 2012. At his citizenship ceremony he took to heart the swearing-in and oath to protect America from enemies both foreign and domestic. Out of the hundreds upon hundreds who obtained their citizenship on that day, none more than Paul Townsend took the oath more serious. Within days of that ceremony Paul made plans on how he could help America find itself again, so he started the blog site below which should be visited.

About a year ago I did an article about Josh Charles, the young scholar who is just a year or two older than Paul. Josh is responsible for writing with Glenn Beck the New York Times Bestseller The Original Argument so he had success of his own, which I covered. He contacted me when a friend of a friend of a friend let him know what I said about him and we have maintained a friendship ever since. Josh is the next generation of David Barton and he is currently working on a voluminous body of work that will seek to translate biblical text and American founding documents in much the way he did with the book he did with Glenn Beck. For constitutional minded Americans, Josh Charles is the man to get behind. You can find him at the link below. He just started a blog which for his intellect, he should for the sake of himself, and the thousands of people who will directly benefit.

While on the radio with my friend Matt Clark the other day promoting my new book, he also informed me that he too had just started a blog. Matt is about the same age as Josh and Paul, so they all have in common a young person’s desire to make their mark in the world by expanding on what they are witnessing. Matt, maybe more than even Paul or Josh has read Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom intently. I found Matt because I used some of his videos on occasion to make a point, and over time we just continued talking more and more. Matt is a very intelligent young freedom fighter who is a young Glenn Beck type. He already has the mentorship of Doc Thompson in the radio business so it’s only a matter of time before Matt gets his shot at being the next generation syndicated talk show host on par with Rush Limbaugh, or Sean Hannity. Within a decade of this writing, Matt will be a household name. Matt informed me while I was on the air with him that he had also just started a blog, because he had seen to what effect mine had been useful. You can see his work at the following link:

Two years ago when I started Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom none of those above links existed, but now they do, and they are growing in influence. It is my hope that they will each attempt to surpass what I have managed, because my intention is not to retreat back into the caboose of life on the heels of great success. But rather to lean even further out in front of the train to push myself knowing that these new citizen journalists are covering ground that I don’t have to any longer. This frees me up to tackle issues that are more specific to my skill sets which reside further out on the invisible horizon.

So I will be approaching my work here at the OW in a slightly different fashion. I view the endeavor as shifting into a higher gear instead of traveling in the low one that I have been. I am able to do this because there are so many people who have joined me at the front of the train and have that ground covered more than adequately. My new task is not to just be one more person saying the same thing as twenty other people, but to say what only I can see, before everyone else gains the sight.

What my readers here can expect is a lot less sugar-coating than I have in the past. They can expect more of my overman theme which involves much more self-reliance emphasis and the destruction of institutional machines that only manufacture corruption. This new gear that I am in must take the readers of Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom to places everyone else feared to go, to places that nobody is yet talking about and it will be the task of this site to provide the sign post of warning so that the minds of mankind can be prepared.

Ben Swann of Channel 19: Asking Obama about his “KILL LIST” which includes Americans

I don’t know if my favorite home town reporter in Cincinnati is Ben Swann of Channel 19, or Brendan Keefe of Channel 9. I’m a big fan of both reporters. They represent “excellence” in reporting to the highest degree. But in this particular case, on this particular day Ben Swann had the testicular fortitude to ask President Obama in a face to face interview about the presidential kill list that has caused a lot of anxiety among people who have been paying attention. Watch this!

Be sure to write Channel 19 and let them know you support Ben Swann and his hard-hitting reporting. Most reporters would have been satisfied to even get an interview with the president, and would have never risked asking such a tough question. But Ben Swann, acting out of journalistic integrity drove all the way across Ohio on a Sunday afternoon to interview Obama in northern Ohio, and when he got in front of the President, he asked him one of the hardest hitting questions Obama has had to answer in person during his entire term. That took guts—serious guts.

Many of us are on that list, so thank you Ben Swann. It is the job of a reporter to keep politicians in check so that secrecy can’t shroud sinister intentions. And the Obama Kill list is one of the most sinister leaks to ever come out of any White House. It was Channel 19 through Ben Swann that put the president in the hot seat, where he belongs, and did everyone in America a tremendous service.

Obama and his Monkey God Lord Hanuman: Cleaning the ‘excrement’ out of The White House

The 2012 election measuring the follies of President Obama and his economic catastrophes are not of simple job performance. For those who are working on behalf of the Romney/Ryan ticket pounding on doors trying to get the message out to voters to eject the communist ways of Obama back to the abyss from which he came, traditional election procedures will not be enough. The reason is that the undefeated demon fighting monkey-god Lord Hanuman from Hindu faith has blessed the Obama administration with his protection as he seeks to pummel conservative America with its traditional Christian faith into the realm of demons so Obama can continue to reside on his shape shifting throne. Yes, Hanuman it seems protects President Obama from a figurine that has resided in the President’s pocket. Check out the video.

So what we know about President Obama is that he was personally mentored by the notorious communist Frank Marshell Davis as a young man. Davis was a very sexually kinky guy who appears to have taken several nude pictures of Obama’s mama, which has to be troubling. Obama’s grandparents in Hawaii were open socialists. Obama’s real father was a Kenyan anti colonialist revolutionary who left Obama as a little boy and was married to another woman while he was married to Obama’s white mother. Obama’s step father took him and his mother to Indonesia where Obama attended his most impressionable years in public school, and it is there that Obama discovered the Hindu god Lord Hanuman whom he reverse so intensely that he carries around a small figure of the god in his pocket———–and this isn’t alarming to anybody? Not to mention that Obama started his political life in the living room of a known radical terrorist, and had many other criminal thugs and provokers in his past that appear to guide the President’s hand in matters of economic devastation. To what aim?

Well, if you know anything about foreign Hindu gods and their intentions for the world, Hanuman would like to see the world bow to his feet. According to Obama he was introduced to Lord Hanuman by his step father Lolo as stated in his autobiography, “There standing astride the road was a towering giant at least ten stories tall with the body of a man and the face of an ape. That’s Hanuman, Lolo said as we circled the statue, the monkey-god. I turned around in my seat, mesmerized by the solitary figure, so dark against the sun, poised to leap into the sky as puny traffic swirled around its feet. He’s a great warrior,” Lolo said firmly, “strong as a hundred men. When he fights the demons, he’s never defeated.”

Well, this is a revelation that I did not know, and I’m sure many Americans didn’t know it either as many expect their president to be much more up to date on all things American, and not groveling at the feet of an undefeated monkey-god from Hindu faith. I can’t even conceive of carrying around such a thing in my pocket as Obama does. Such a thing for me might be carrying around a tiny Incredible Hulk  figure for good luck. Yet this information provides much-needed insight, especially in hindsight, into how the President thinks and why he does the strange things he does, and how he gets away with it. Obama’s reverence to Hanuman may very well explain why the President has been able to deceive so many people right out in the open. An argument could be made that by praying to Lord Hanuman Obama has gained the Hindu god’s ability to shape shift, which the monkey-god was known to do in order to defeat his enemies.

In the Ramayana Hanuman changes shape several times. For example, while he searches for the kidnapped Sita in Ravana’s palaces on Lanka, he contracts himself to the size of a cat, so that he will not be detected by the enemy. Later on, he takes on the size of a mountain, blazing with radiance, to show his true power to Sita.

Also he enlarges & immediately afterwards contracts his body to out-wit Sirsa, the she-demon, who blocked his path while crossing the sea to reach Lanka. Again, he turns his body microscopically small to enter Lanka before killing Lankini, the she-demon guarding the gates of Lanka.

He achieved this shape-shifting by the powers of two siddhis; Anima and Garima bestowed upon him in his childhood by Sun-God, Surya. Based on this information Obama has been given the power by Hanuman of Anima and Garima to shape shift at will, to seduce to sleep the media and millions of Americans into believing that Obama is not responsible for the economic depression the country is in, he is not responsible for the 16 trillion-dollar debt, he is not responsible for taking America to the doorsteps of tyranny with the signing of the NDAA Act on New Year’s Eve, he is not an open communist with Muslim/Hindu ties, but is a Christian and a free market, capitalist—even though he hates rich people—even though he is himself, rich. The power of Anima and Garima are at work indeed!

Imagine little Obama growing up watching a program like the video below as opposed to Thundercats, or Spiderman on TV. The guy on the ground rubbing the king’s leg is Lord Hanuman.  Can anybody imagine Jesus rubbing the leg of King Herod Antipas?  Progressives for many years have looked to India as having all the answers to their life goals, but few understand what extreme collectivists the people of India are, and to what devotion they sacrifice the self to achieve “enlightenment.” This little production tells the story pretty well. This could be a scene from Obama’s childhood, and speaks loudly of his world view.

People not under the spell of Lord Hanuman can see that Obama is everything but a good president and we can see that he takes on many forms, just like the shape shifting god he reveres so highly in the undefeated monkey-god warrior Lord Hanuman. But to those under the spell of the shape shifting Lord Hanuman, they see a smiling man of honor who can sing them to their deaths without them being any wiser. Such powers are granted by the gods like Lord Hanuman, the ability to appear as one thing, while actually being something else.

So we’re not just fighting a Democratic presidential nominee, a covert Communist Party U.S.A infiltration member hiding behind his race to achieve the highest office in the land on a sea of lies dressed up to look appealing, but we are fighting the undefeated demon fighting monkey-god Lord Hanuman from Hindu faith who sees Americans as the great demon, and Obama as his personal soldier for glory who hides his real intentions behind a shape shifting ability that allows Hanuman to conquer America as the great warrior that Obama’s step dad proclaimed the monkey-god to be.

Obama is not a flag waving patriot who has a deep history and respect for The United States. Whether or not he was born as an American citizen is pointless even though it is incredibly relevant by Constitutional standards.  It only matters if there is respect for the Constitution, which there isn’t.  Obama spent his childhood oversees idolizing a father he never knew who was Kenyan, being raised by a kinky anthropologists student who traveled the world and married a dude from Indonesia who thought Hanuman was a great warrior. Years later Obama would carry around a small statue of Hanuman along with a tiny Madonna for good measure. But what Obama is—is not what he sells as the shape shifting president operating under seemingly divine influence of mysterious forces. It is not only Obama who must be defeated in November, but his undefeated demon fighting monkey-god Lord Hanuman. Because The White House is Americas house, and not a palace for Lord Hanuman, and after four years of occupancy, it’s time to clean all the monkey shit out of the house and stop the stank that hovers over Washington before it spreads to the rest of the country.

In America we have freedom of religion for the purpose of keeping it out of creating policy decisions which drive the country. People are free to honor whatever religion they chose. If a court-house wants to have the Ten Commandments to reflect their Christian heritage, they are free to do it. Or if President Obama wants to worship the monkey-god Hanuman with a little figure in his pocket, he’s also free to do it. But what is important is that the people know what they are electing. Politicians should be prevented from selling themselves one way, while actually being something totally different. In the case of Hanuman, the Hindu version of the story Obama was exposed to as a child is one of extreme collectivism, and this explains his thoughts about social welfare in more complicated terms than simply proving him a communist. Hanuman is honored for being able to rip open his chest to show his devotion to the king Ram and his queen imprinted upon his heart. Hindus the world over cherish this tendency has honorable. But in America we don’t have a tradition that honors such blind devotion, yet many feel that Obama believes himself a king, and that Americans should rip open their chests like Hanuman and have pictures of Barack and Michelle imprinted on their hearts, and that is not how Americans roll.

Contrary to what worldwide collectivist think of The United States, it is not that we are godless heathens that are demons to be defeated by the monkey-god Hanuman, but a free people who find more reverence in a Marvel Comics action figure than in a 85 foot tall statue of Lord Hanuman. The reason is we have a diverse and free culture that has evolved under that umbrella of non collectivist thought, and we have advanced, while many in India are still bathing in the filthy Ganges river and riding bicycles down dirt roads hoping that their revered god Hanuman might step off his pedestal and show the world his devotion to his king Ram. Here in America, we don’t honor kings, queens, princes, or princesses, and we certainly don’t worship presidents as sacred. We honor private property and our right to have it, and such psychological investments has made America a superior culture that is the envy of collectivists all over the world, because they have been left behind, and can only hope that infiltrators on behalf of Hanuman can deceive America into reverting back to huts and dirt roads by the shape shifting abilities of President Obama taking orders from the monkey-god that resides in his pocket to destroy any culture that is not collectivists by nature.

Rich Hoffman Supported Herman Cain: So why did ‘Yahoo News’ call him a racist?

I enjoyed greatly the accusations from The Atlantic Wire featured on Yahoo News recently that declared I, along with Rush Limbaugh, Charles Krauthammer and writers at The Free Republic were racists because we did not support the President of the United States due to the color of his skin, and that our dislike over federal welfare programs were racially motivated instead of performance oriented. It is always interesting when the other side, particularly progressive oriented people, use name calling when they can’t debate an idea. In this case President Obama has been an absolute embarrassment in his role as President, and I am personally ashamed of the guy. For many years in the future there will always be a footnote over The Obama Presidency where America tried the closest member of Communist Party U.S.A to ever get into The White House—we had to try—the hippies needed to have a chance to show how terribly they could screw up the world, and Obama is the candidate of the messed up, drug induced flower children of the 1960’s. But my dislike of Obama has nothing to do with the color of his skin, as Yahoo News led thousands of readers to believe. Anyone who knows anything about me knows that out of all the Republican candidates running for President in 2012, it was Herman Cain that I most supported, and still adore.

Contrary to what progressive Democrats who eat out of the hand of Emperor Obama think, Herman Cain is a black man—and he’s a rich black man. If Herman Cain were running for president right now, I’d vote for him in much the same way that I would have voted for Alan Keys in the 90’s against Bill Clinton. Proof of my admiration for Herman Cain goes all the way back to over a year ago when the presidential race for the Republicans was just beginning to heat up. It has everything to do with his world view, and political philosophy which I find reprehensible.

In fact when I said that Obama thought he was speaking to an audience of welfare recipients I never even thought of black citizens as there are over 110,000 million Americans on welfare. There are whites on welfare as well as blacks. If there is any racism going on it comes from people who only look at situations that involve blacks and single them out for exclusivity and political advantage. But the accusations from the political left in this case is to make any discussions of welfare reform or Barack Obama’s handling of the economy an issue of race because nobody can actually defend the terrible job performance of the mob elected president. Many in the democratic mob of America were seduced into supporting him because of his “hope and change” message. The truth behind “hope and change” as well as the current campaign of “Forward” is tag lines for subtle communism—and yes, that’s what it is.

When organized groups proclaim “workers of the world unite,” and the “rich need to pay their fair share” those terms come from Karl Marx—the inventor of communism. When advocates for the President suggest that people like me are racist because I don’t blindly support a seriously flawed President who happens to be black, they also ignore other presidential candidates who are black because they are not down and out poor. The progressive political machine desires very much to always keep the race card handy so they don’t have to answer any tough questions. They make sure the black voting demographic stays in a state of economic need so that progressives can always exploit them in a whim.

When Herman Cain was running for president it terrified progressives because if a “rich” black man were seen by the black population across America, it might break up the bloc voting demographic Obama has over the black population. So they found a way to get rid of Cain, using the press to exploit some of Cain’s loose relationships with women, which certainly isn’t new in The White House. Bill Clinton let a woman his daughter’s age give him a blow job in The Oval Office and nobody cared, because Clinton was a progressive and part of that whole Shadow Party progressive machine. Cain only had rumors of girl friends and he was embarrassed and lambasted daily until he left the presidential race to protect the continued harassment of his family. Wasn’t it racism to protect the white president in Clinton who groped and fondled many women while President, yet to attack a presidential candidate who was black because he was a Republican that was wealthy and didn’t fit the desired profile? Where was Yahoo News on that story?

No, it’s not people like me who are the racists, it’s the people who make race the issue because they have no answers for the behavior of their President—their leader. The people who do such things are despicable, because they are openly exploiting citizens of a particular race just to maintain a voting demographic stronghold. In their view when welfare is criticized it’s because of race, since they can offer no solutions as to why progressives started giving out other people’s money in the first place to redistribute wealth when in fact there are many whites who are just as addicted to free government money as blacks or any other voting group. Bringing up the name calling racial allegation is an old Saul Alinsky trick that reached its fever pitch in the 1990’s and directly led to electing Barack Obama in the first place–to prove that America was not a racist country. The race baiting is a one trick pony and we’ve already seen it. It doesn’t work anymore because people have been scammed badly by it.

But thanks Yahoo News for the national attention. A lot of people scanned over my articles and realized that The Atlantic Wire edited carefully my comments to appear as racially motivated as possible, but even then such a connection was not made by readers. Out of thousands of hits on that particular article, I received not a single derogatory comment once they read the article I actually wrote in the context for which I presented it. Further, all anyone has to do with me is compare how many times I openly supported Herman Cain to know that I could care less if the President of The United States is a black man, a white man, or a yellow man. I just want the President to be a smart man who is a free market guy. When I send my hard earned money to the federal government and see that they give it away like candy it makes me very angry. So I have a right to be angry at Obama for putting my nation 16 trillion dollars into debt on his reckless communist ideology. I’m not angry at Obama for being black. I’m angry at him for all the damage he’s done as president and the division he has exemplified in my country using trivial nonsense like “race” to hide the crimes of a fool.

Allen High School Spends $60 Million on a New Stadium: The truth about school sports

Keep in mind before I say what will surely infuriate many that I spent much of my previous Friday evening listening to the pre-season football game between my favorite NFL team The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and The Miami Dolphins. I enjoy the combat of a football game. I understand the drama of sporting events. I have known, and currently know many people who memorize sports stats and pour a lot of personal time and energy into sports as their premier entertainment. I know many people who spend their Friday nights going to football games for their local high school in the fall; have block parties in their cul-de-sacs on Saturdays when Ohio State plays Michigan, then tail gate on Sunday down at Paul Brown Stadium for The Cincinnati Bengals. These same people will rattle off statistics of sport players with great conviction, but couldn’t begin to tell you who Rob Portman is–the State of Ohio Senator who has been a potential candidate for Vice-President of The United States. They drink a lot, and take great pride in losing their senses to drunkenness, and in spite of those human faults, I still enjoy the fanfare of sports.

In Texas, as displayed to the outside world quite wonderfully in the film Friday Night Lights, high school football is the centerpiece of small town entertainment, and it does bond the community together in ways that defy logic. I could write books on why this is destructive in that it shows a tendency toward collectivism that is ultimately disparaging, but for the sake of simplicity, let’s just say that small town politics in the state of Texas loves their Friday night football. It’s an obsession really, so much so that tax payers in Allen, Texas passed a bond package with 63.66 percent of the vote from the booming suburb of north Dallas worth $119.4 million dollars, $60 million of which was designated to building a state-of-the-art stadium for their high school football team.

For the kids who play football in Allen they will play under the Friday Night Lights for their community in a stadium that rivals what many of the stadiums for professional teams play in. 8,252 people signed up for season tickets ranging in price from $40 dollars a game to $8 and they plan to sell out several of their games in the 18,000 seat arena in a town that has a population of 84,236, which is smaller than the Lakota School District in Cincinnati. The demand for football in Allen is so intense that 1 out of every 4 people plan to attend football games at the new stadium.

The residents of Allen have a median household income of $100,843, which is about $10,000 more than the wealthy area of Lakota due in large part to all the businesses that are locating to the area because of Texas pro-business attitudes. Many of the jobs that aren’t in your town because of intense regulation and high taxes are probably in Texas or thinking about it currently. And when people have plenty of money in their pocket they tend to be generous by passing tax increases on themselves without a thought of future sustainability. The people of Allen have the money and they wish to spend it on a football stadium for their local high school, and that’s that. This has led to severe criticism from people outside of Allen who don’t understand why the people of that Texas town will spend so much money on a football stadium when the state of education is so poor in America. Well, the answer is rather harsh, but must be understood in order to be truthful about the real nature of support a community has for their local schools when discussions of tax increases arise. People like to watch violence and mayhem. They love to see gladiators on the battlefield punishing other players in a quest to score a point. Those same audiences do not show up to watch some kid take a math test.

All public schools and all large college campuses use their sports programs to drive their funding models for their education institutions. “Jocks” are treated as special in schools because the school acknowledges the gladiators as the life blood of their existence. Without the Friday Night Lights, without football, schools are boring places of history, art, math and science. Only a few kids in each grade class excel in those categories and go on to become esteemed world-wide scientists or mathematicians. Most parents would rather give birth to the next Payton Manning rather than Albert Einstein and it shows in schools by what parents support. In Allen, Taxes they are just being honest about their priorities. They are not functioning from illusion. When it comes down to it, people do not care about educating a bunch of inner city kids on how to bake a cake in home economics. They don’t care if a 1000 nerds score a perfect 2400 on their SAT scores. But they do care if a kid is 6-4 and weighs 280 pounds in his junior year and can play as a guard on the offensive line protecting the team quarterback. In essence, they care about their own entertainment on a Friday Night, because once the game is over, they are back to their own lives looking forward to the next game.

On a typical Saturday during football season most men will sift through the political section of a newspaper and read intently the sports stats from the game on Friday. On Monday morning he will be able to go into his workplace and impress his co-workers with his vast knowledge about the tackles that 6’, 4” 280 pound kid had in Friday’s football game. He might even claim to know the boy’s father hoping that such a revelation will impress his co-workers with is access to celebrity. But nobody sits around the water cooler talking about how a kid from their public school won a spelling competition, or won an academic scholarship to Yale due to academic excellence in high school physics.

Schools are very aware of this leverage they have over the community. Locally, around the Cincinnati area the closest thing we have to the Texas Friday Night Lights experience is Colerain Football. Already, the band leaders in that town are letting it be known that if residents don’t pass a school levy this November that there will be cuts to the football program, and the band that plays for them. They know as school officials that the community cares about sports, but not about the positions of assistant art teachers, so the threat is directed and quite intentional. At Lakota in my home district, after three failed levies, the district cut off its nose to spite its face threatening to hurt the parents of the district by charging players $550 per sport for each player in order to force levy passage which has ended up backfiring. Lakota isn’t Allen, Texas; people are more indifferent to their Friday Night Football. If it’s there, fine, if not, they’ll go to a movie and out to dinner instead. The only parents who really feel passionate about football like they do in Texas are the parents who are hoping their kid wins a scholarship to college which will save them tens of thousands of dollars in college tuition. Lakota took bad advice from the classes the school board attended at Levy University in Columbus, Ohio that the OSBA puts on every year. In that class they learned that to pass tax increases that public transportation and sports are what motivate voters to throw more money at a public school. If those things don’t work, then nothing will. At Lakota, to make up for picking the wrong strategy in winning the hearts of the community, they have had to spend $160,000 on public relations to attempt to win back community support, which they won’t get as long as 1500 kids are being charged $550 to play sports.

Penn State covered up the sex crimes they all knew about because they understood that it was Penn State Football that drove new enrollment, and therefore revenue to their university. It is sports that drive education, not academics. In Allen, Texas at least they aren’t trying to deceive themselves in being so high-brow to not wish for the blood lust of violent impacts under the Friday Night Lights of their new $60 million dollar stadium. Nobody really cares about “education.” This is well-known, it’s just not publicly acknowledged. The people of Allen are not going to pour $60 million dollars into a program to help the poor and needy. They are not going to give it to a bunch of fools who want to build solar panels and wind mills. They are not going to give it to a bunch of socialist teachers who want to save the world with world peace. In polite conversation the tax payers will utter support for such things, but when it comes time to put their money where their mouth is, they spend it on blood, broken bones, and drama on a fourth and goal. Everything else is a waste of time and that is the key to the education funding structure. Without the Friday Night Lights, public education is just another stale experience that could easily be replaced with online classes.

Giving Voters an Early Christmas Present: Monroe School Levy Fails

If this thing fails, what the heck does that say about us as a community? I’ll tell you…..we totally suck. Any community that doesn’t support its schools isn’t a community that anyone is going to want to live in. Housing values will take yet another nose dive (We’ve invested a ton of money in our house and the value STILL isn’t what it was when we bought it 10 years ago).

I get the economy is tough, and that some mistakes were made in the past, but what is the goal of this negative levy campaign? To punish the school board for the past mistakes? The only people who end up being punished are the kids in the schools, the teachers who have to teach them, and the rest of the community (i.e. ALL of us) whose home values will continue to NOT be what we paid for them over a decade ago. Wake up folks!

there will be another levy….more money spent….so really..what did you achieve?

Sure you would have succeeded in your finger pointing campaign, but your wallet won’t end up being any fatter in the long run.

I would like to congratulate the Monroe School District for holding strong and voting down their off-season school levy that was designed to pass with low voter turnout in August. Predictably, the Monroe School Board has voted to put the levy right back on in November of 2012, which is a welcome attempt since the voter turnout will be much more intense as conservatives in Monroe will show up in droves to vote Emperor Obama out of office. Conservatives tend to vote down tax increases unless they wish to believe they can be conservative and still receive free government education that is socialist in its design.

To listen to the Monroe School District reasons for the tax increase it was to get them out of state control and pay back the money they were forced to borrow from the state to operate. If Monroe truly wished to balance their budget they would use the state control option to void the union contract and cut their labor wages by 5% to 10% which would instantly balance their budget. But there is no desire from the school board or state management to even attempt such a thing, even though it is a legal option, because the entire school system is set up to protect those union contracts which use collective bargaining to pay all teachers too much money with benefits that are entirely too generous. If Monroe wanted to balance their budget, they would attack their labor costs, not ask for more money to throw at inflated wages and benefits.

At Lakota, the district next to Monroe, after three levy defeats I proposed that the employees of the school district take a 5% cut in pay, which would have easily balanced their budget but instead the district looked for ways to remove me from the levy argument by playing manipulative politics behind the scenes which I found personally insulting. CLICK HERE TO REVIEW. They chose personal attacks rather than dealing with the trouble of their labor costs because the education system from the top to the bottom eats out of the hand of the labor unions. By the way, I would like to give the Pulse Journal’s reporter Hannah Poturalski credit for doing an article about Lakota for spending $160,000 just on public relations going into the upcoming school year because the Lakota School System is trying to cover up their reluctance to force their union to take a 5% pay cut to balance their budget. So they spent $160,000 tax payer dollars to hide their lack of management of labor wages. It’s nice to see a mainstream reporter covering the issue. Most don’t have the guts.

Monroe arrogantly announced before the vote on Tuesday August 7, 2012 that if the levy failed, they would put it back up for a vote in November. The implied threat from the school board to the community was that if it did not pass the levy they’d come right back with another attempt so the community might as well vote their way. The school is using the threat of force in an inadvertent way to point out that a “NO” vote is pointless. They are basically stating to the community, “Resistance is futile. We will take our money one way or the other.” Of course they don’t come right out and say it, but instead chose to use polite language to disguise the sinister intentions.

Monroe can say things like that by siding up with their unionized labor work force because the system is rigged against the taxpayer. Schools can legally attempt to place a levy on the ballot 4 times per year, so districts like Monroe if their levy fails can go right back at the voters 3 months later till they get their money by wearing down the resistance. The Little Miami School District went to the voters 9 times before the NO voters finally gave up and the levy passed preserving the union contracts without harm. But times are changing. Up in Westerville near Columbus, Ohio that school district barely passed a 6.71 mill emergency levy on March 6th. District officials there said they needed a levy to raise $16.5 million to balance their budget. The levy costs taxpayers in Westerville $205 per $100,000 of property value and that amount is not limited to only residential homes, but each and every business in the district. The levy is a huge tax scam and residents were angry that it passed so they are using an obscure part of the Ohio Revised Code to fight back against that levy by repealing it. The same day that voters went to vote on numerous school levies including Monroe, Westerville turned in well over 5000 signatures to have their levy repealed this upcoming November. Click here to learn how to do this. If Lakota ever passes their levy I plan to use our database of NO voters to easily collect the signatures we’d need to do the same. All Westerville needed was 5000 signatures to place the repeal on the ballot. In Lakota, over 18,000 people voted against the last levy, so it shouldn’t be hard to collect our signatures if needed, it would just take a little effort, but it would be worth it. This means that even when school districts fail to listen to the voters there is a recourse that can be taken against them, and Westerville is going to vote in November not to pass a levy, but to remove one. The campaign for that during a presidential election will be fantastic, “would you like to save $205 per $100,000 of your property value? Vote to repeal the Westerville School Levy!” That would allow Westerville School District residence to spend $200 to $1000 more on Christmas presents for their loved ones this year instead of flushing that same money down the toilet for inflated union contracts negotiated under collective bargaining.

Locally Fairfield, Lebanon, Little Miami, and Forest Hills all recently passed levies that could be repealed in the same way as Westerville is doing, and this is a serious blow to the public sector labor unions in Ohio who are used to getting everything they want, including the kitchen sink. So even if the residents of Monroe find themselves suffering under yet another tax increase, they do have a recourse to remove that levy if it ever does pass. I would advise the people who worked the No Levy campaign in Monroe to keep track of all the people who make contact with them in support of the “NO VOTE,” because those names may be needed later when it comes time to repeal the Monroe School Levy.

The assumption of these public schools is that teachers are worth infinite amounts of money and that the schools are sacred to the development of our children, and neither is true. Teachers are not all worth the same amounts of money. Some are worth $65K per year, but most aren’t worth $45K per year. And administrators are not worth $90K to $100K per year. Some may be, but most aren’t. It is collective bargaining that drives up those costs and that has only been around since 1982, and it has bankrupted education in Ohio. It is foolish to throw more money at a broken system, and the system is broke if it produces children that can’t find India on a map, and costs more than $7,000 per pupil to operate. The whole system needs to be reset and that will never happen if communities allow themselves to be extorted by school boards and state officials who are afraid of their labor unions. The proper management of the education funding problems is for the unions to either take pay cuts or to dissolve all together with more competitive options being presented. The old way is not good for anybody, except the teacher and administrator who make more than $65K per year for only working 7.5 hours a day, 9 months out of the year while tax payers struggle to pay the bill of loyalty to their community schools.

Why ‘Chick-fil-A’ is in my new book: The hidden reach of EVIL

With great relief the attack by progressive ideology in the form of “gay rights” was answered in a huge way all across the United States when fans of the famous chicken restaurant Chick-fil-A showed up in mass to show support of the company’s President Dan Cathy for taking a public stand in favor of traditional marriage and family values. Two years ago when I was deep into the writing of my latest novel Tail of the Dragon a guy my daughter was dating had an argument with me over Chick-fil-A when I declared it was my favorite place to eat because as a company it was not afraid of showing their support of traditional values. This young boy was very upset about my stance, which provoked me to write an article of support when the current gay rights push was in its infancy. CLICK HERE TO REVIEW.

It is not only because of my argument with that kid over Chick-fil-A but because it is without question my favorite fast-food restaurant that it plays a heroic role in my new action packed novel. My publisher and I went back and forth on the issue and I felt that people would want to visit many of the sites talked about in the novel, so rather than call the restaurant I was writing about merely a chicken place, I included the name of Chick-fil-A as being the location of a particularly riveting scene that takes place inside an Ashville, North Carolina shopping mall. Chick-fil-A played a heroic role in my story without being complicit in any crime simply because as a social icon, the people who run and work at Chick-fil-A restaurants are some of the most ethical and good people anyone can hope to find because Chick-fil-A as a company is good from the top down.

I wanted to show my appreciation of Chick-fil-A by displaying my admiration for them as a company. The argument I had with that poor kid indicated to me that a storm was coming, a storm that took nearly two years to develop. Truett Cathy is a person I greatly admire and have since I was a very small child. His success is an excellent example of Robert Pirsig’s Metaphors of Quality model. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE AND SEE HOW IT WORKS. So my inclusion of Chick-fil-A in my novel as a centerpiece of the action is out of a genuine love that I have for them as a company. I was very careful not to implicate their company name in any of the scandalous activity that was driving the action, but I hoped to help them withstand the storm I saw was coming by including them in my novel that showed them in a good light and as an icon of the southern states.

I was surprised that the young boy who was dating my daughter was so upset at Chick-fil-A. He wasn’t gay, but he knew people who were, and he felt he was compelled to defend them. So he had a serious case of anger at Chick-fil-A based exclusively on his progressive education and the root of that infection was seen when the President of Chick-fil-A Dan Cathy made his “guilty as charged” comments in support of traditional marriage, and even going so far to say he is proud that his family still have their first wives. Young people especially like that young kid who dated my daughter are very susceptible to progressive politics from people like Rahm Emanuel the former Barack Obama aid and current mayor of Chicago who came out aggressively against Chick-fil-A after Dan Cathy made his comments in favor of traditional marriage. The villains against traditional beliefs in America showed themselves quickly after that interview with Cathy and the political divisions in our country were suddenly very clear.

There are many like that progressive kid who indirectly convinced me to stand up for Chick-fil-A by putting them prominently in my new novel, who have allowed themselves to no longer acknowledge the work of evil. Evil as a sinister force seeks the complete eradication of anything that is good and in our society much of what is good comes from traditional values. Evil is spread through progressive values. Evil has spread most aggressively in our society with the demise of traditional values rooted in a marriage between a man and a woman with their first wives. Chick-fil-A recognizes this fact and has chosen not to participate or endorse evil. Progressives like Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama believe in the collectivism of their cause and they are seeking to advance a different agenda that is global than what those of us who embrace traditional values endorse.

The issue over gay marriage is not to say that homosexuals are evil. But the progressive political platform uses the issue of gay marriage to cheapen the concept of private property—which is at the heart of most progressive topics. By weakening the value of a man and a woman raising their biological families produced in the bedroom of their sacred beds, the progressive has sought to pervert sex to multiple sex partners, same-sex partners that cannot produce children as a couple and are forced to adopt children from other families from other parts of the world to build a family of their own. The goal of the progressive is a focus on collectivism, raising a family that is without the biological possession of the parents. The strategy of evil is to destroy the concept of the American family and by destroying that, it will destroy America which is the only bastion of personal freedom on earth. By destroying America, evil can rule the minds of man without concern.

What I have said is not the plot of the most recent Lord of the Rings film or some comic book plot line. It is very much real, and is happening before our very eyes. Evil is seductive, it grows within our personal weaknesses, which is why collectivists seek to exemplify those weaknesses while at the same time chastising strengths. To accomplish this evil is using progressive politics to strip away anything that gives individuals strength and replacing it with collectivist oriented obedience. The young kid I mentioned is a victim of this evil. His life was built by evil in a single parent home, by adult influences that are lax on personal strength, and by an education system that is pushing young people right off the cliff with progressive global instruction.

It is true, I do gush over my experiences at the annual Annie Oakley event I participate in each year because it’s all about traditional American value—which I adore. I gush over movies that are old-fashioned in their themes, especially the most recent Batman film Dark Knight Rises, because the story goes to the trouble of identifying the failures of collectivism. And I certainly gush over Chick-fil-A, because they unlike any other company I can think of stand for something rooted in “goodness.” There are fresh flowers on every table, the employees are always nice, and the food is great for a fast-food restaurant—very high quality. Chick-fil-A gives up millions and millions of dollars to be closed on Sundays so they certainly don’t care if the gay population boycotts them. They stand on what they believe, and that is “good.” So Chick-fil-A stands in the way of the ever encroaching evil that quietly sifts about in our lives subtly turning our minds against us with illusions of pleasure that are disguises of sinister plots not necessarily rooted within terrestrial understanding. Progressives are simply the vehicles of this evil that uses their minds and bodies like most people might use a rental car. It steps into the mind of Rahm Emanuel and uses his weak mind to drive him to say and do the kinds of things that are absolutely detrimental to our society while the Chicago Mayor actually believes he’s doing good for the poor, the weak, the homosexual, the destitute, and otherwise mentally unfortunate.

It was my hope that by including Chick-fil-A in my story that I could pay it some sense of justice and my own appreciation for being an icon of goodness in my own personal life. But in the wake of the overwhelming support that millions of Americans have shown toward Chick-fil-A against the progressive encroachment of evil I am simply delighted that courage and goodness have stood squarely for a change to face down evil for what it attempted to do to Chick-fil-A.

The gay attack on Friday, the “Kiss-a-Chick” day was a bust as was expected. Homosexuals are in the minority and cannot be allowed to completely drive the direction of private business, and compared to the millions who showed up to support Chick-fil-A as a business, the gay community could only produce a few squeaky wheels who made fools of themselves. The events of the week showed without question that those who wish destruction are in the vast minority and can only advance evil if we listen to them. Thankfully, Dan Truett as President of Chick-fil-A showed the world that he would not buckle from his beliefs, which is so incredibly refreshing. It was also refreshing to see that so many people responded in support of his company. Even rival fast-food restaurants like Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds, and Wendy’s stood shoulder to shoulder with Chick-fil-A because they recognize that if Chick-fil-A goes down under the gun of political pressure that their companies will also be extorted and abused under some future progressive attack. When the mayors of cities threaten to not allow the construction of businesses because of their personal beliefs, dictatorships are not far off the horizon which is the ultimate weapon of evil. Such an evil showed itself quickly in the Chicago Mayor and others who attacked Chick-fil-A not for turning away gay customers which never happened, but for having a belief—a belief in tradition, in what’s good. For that, Chick-fil-A was attacked, and in its defense a nation stood strong. Wednesday August 1, 2012 will forever be remembered as the first small battle that was a victory against a tyrannical empire driven by pure evil in a long quest to restore goodness to our lives with many battles to come. And for those who stood on the side of good, the victory was overwhelming and decisive.

Sharks on Welfare: Why gangs form in poor neighborhoods

The Discovery Channel  is about to celebrate their 25th year of presenting Shark Week on their popular television weeklong event. In front of that celebration a friend of mine suggested that sharks were a wonderful way to illustrate the merits of social engineering failures that have occurred among human beings. His reasoning was that sharks were a brutal prehistoric oriented species of sea life that are born violent hunters which make them a fascinating study. Their desire to hunt and destroy is natural. But what if they could be taught not to eat people? That would be a wonderful thing that would save many arms, legs and lives if only we could convince sharks from wanting to destroy the human population with mindless hunger simply to fill their bellies.

Well, as my friend suggested one possible solution for the sharks would be to go on a welfare program similar to what human beings use in their societies. If the sharks were just given food instead of developing their hunter instincts to track it down themselves, they might become “nicer.” Because looking at the life of sharks the way a progressive does, the reason that sharks are so mean is because they are always hunting for food. If someone just gave them food, they wouldn’t be so angry all the time, and wouldn’t desire to eat people at beaches.

If there were a welfare system for sharks, human beings could just feed them everyday to purchase peace. The sharks would learn that when the boats came, the boats would bring food, so the sharks would be inclined to stay away from the beaches where human beings enjoyed swimming. The sharks wouldn’t have to be so vicious having to compete with other sea life for food because the food would come to them. This would save the lives of millions of other fish and sharks in the ocean and of course the human beings who wished to swim in the ocean.

That makes perfect sense—if you’re a progressive liberal. Unfortunately, the fate of such a program would be the same as what has happened in the areas where welfare among humans occur. On land, the people on welfare become placated and unaggressive. They typically wait for their check to arrive in the mail so they can eat. But in their complacency they don’t tend to pass on good traits to their young. The youngsters not naturally desiring to wait for the check to arrive in the mail try to take their lives in their own hands and develop gangs to fight over the limited resources available in their communities that are built by placated adults fed by government. Much of the violence of gang behavior can be traced back to the creation of welfare, and the limited movement of the human population in ranges of thinking. That is the side effect of the human species that has lost its ability to fight for its survival. A welfare society becomes lazy, and inept.

Among the sharks, the unforeseen tragedy would be that the sharks would begin to travel in packs along the paths of the boats that brought food to them. Sharks being a solitary species would adjust their nature to that of collectivity passively waiting for the boats to bring them food. The younger sharks that hadn’t lost their desire to hunt would gather up in packs and attack the boats on occasion to take all the food destined for the rest of their shark society. But peace would be maintained for the most part, so long as the human population kept the sharks fed.

But what would happen if the food ran out? Or what would happen if the sharks became obese, and developed the need to eat more food than the humans could provide? What if it took two boats to feed a pack of sharks that used to take only one? That’s when the sharks would begin to attack humans again. But this time instead of only being solitary hunters, the sharks would attack in mass. On land in the human communities, this activity is called “protests.” Humans protest when the government doesn’t give them the amount of food they think they should have.

Sharks would do this as well when the boats did not bring enough food to keep them fat, dumb, and happy. It would become increasingly impossible to fulfill the expectations of the shark populations all over the world, because there would not be enough food to give the sharks.

This is what happens when progressives inject their “feel good” theories of social engineering into the natural world. They intend to do well, by feeding the sharks; to keep the human population from being eaten. But instead, the progressive makes the human population slaves to the sharks by spending all their time trying to catch free food to keep the sharks at bay. Inadvertently the sharks become a collective based society that becomes even more dangerous if they are enraged making the risk for future violence much more serious. Also within the shark society the progressive has created a rift within the young and the old. The old are happy to be fed since they have learned to let the food come to them. The young functioning from their youthful instincts wants to catch something and prove their worth, so they incorporate the collectivity taught to them by their parents and mix it with their natural impulse for violence—so they form gangs of sharks that are far more dangerous than what the single sharks used to be.

This is what humans have done to their own society. The creation of welfare was intended to be a helping hand to those less fortunate. But instead, it has created a society of lazy humans that have collected in mass in locations where free things are given to them to appease their natural aggressiveness. Welfare has created the culture of gangs that terrorize inner cities and the drug trade that is the lifeblood of such violence. The gangs created something in a desperate desire from limited resources within the welfare culture to gain something valuable. In a society where the limited resources are driven by how much food is on the feed boats the only way to advance in such a society is by inventing something else that has value. In the human case, it is drugs and illegal activity that creates an alternative economy within the welfare state. The ultimate villain is the welfare system because it is what robbed people of their ambition, and the desire to “create” wealth making them dependents on the suppliers of the welfare checks.

The sharks being dependents on the food supply of the boats would become far more dangerous as a collective unit who could then “collectively bargain” to gain more food from the boats. And if they didn’t get the food, they could protest against the boats threatening to kill all on board. So the humans trying to save the lives and legs of other human beings inadvertently would have created a much more dangerous species of shark by attempting to put the sharks on a welfare system. The appeasement would only be temporary, and might in fact keep the sharks from the beaches where humans like to swim. But ultimately, the sharks would become much more dangerous than they ever were as solitary hunters. As a collective herd of sharks, they could demand all the food they could eat, and if that food could not be supplied, they’d have the power to hunt down and destroy with much greater capacity many more humans than ever before. And it would all have started with the good intention of giving the sharks food for free in the hope that they would become less dangerous.

The Muslim Brotherhood Goes to Washington: Speaker Boehner needs to stop sleeping

I found it surprising that my congressman Speaker Boehner is not up to speed that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our government. He along with others appear to be in denial that Muslim extremists are tied very close to progressive politics and are determined to destroy America from within. So to bring Speaker Boehner and many others up to speed on information they may not have had time, or the political stomach to comprehend I am offering a series of radio interviews to watch below. The first is from my personal friend Matt Clark in Ann Arbor, Michigan on WAAM radio where he begins to peel back the layers of just how serious the situation really is.

Speaker Boehner and Senator John McCain has threatened Representative Michelle Bachman that they will remover he seat on the Intelligence Committee if she does not apologize to Anthony Wiener’s wife for a letter Bachman wrote questioning Huma Abedin’s parents ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Anthony Wiener was the former combative progressive congressman who had to leave his seat because he got caught tweeting pictures of his actual wiener to women on the internet. His wife is a Muslim who is a direct aid to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Below, Glenn Beck sets the stage on how much of a storm was created by Michelle Bachman’s simple letter.

Where there is much anger over seemingly trivial issues, there is fire that nobody knew was burning. Whatever deals have been made between network heads and politics are not deals that are conducive to the American population if radicals wish to sing our nation to sleep with siren songs of peace while sharpening their swords on our chins. I would find it hard to believe that Speaker Boehner is on the direct call list of the Muslim Brotherhood. Rather, I would think that he believes he’s playing by the rules of politics. Unfortunately, those rules have been quietly established by those same Muslim infiltrators.

Playing nice politics will not lead America to victory which is what I think politicians like Boehner and McCain believe they are doing. They believe they should take the high road and not subscribe to wild theories. I believe they are simply naïve. But Michelle Bachman as a member of the Intelligence Committee has an obligation to defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic, and she is up in arms that known terrorists have been flown to The White House on the tax payer dime to meet directly with the President while she is being attacked from members of her own party for calling attention to the issue.

It is difficult to look at aspects of our friendships and political connections and assess the true value. Not the value we wish it to be, but the actual value. When a man wishes to sleep with a woman just for the sex of it, he might tell her he loves her, he might wine and dine her, he might buy her nice jewelry, but once the man has obtained his sex, the true nature of the relationship will be revealed. The woman may wish to believe the man loved her, but the reality is all he wanted was sex. In the case of the Muslim Brotherhood, they are very pleasant and say all the right things to the people they come into contact with. Members of the American government have been seduced by the charming Muslim Brotherhood radicals.

To people on the outside we can see clearly what’s happening. We don’t care if Weiner’s wife is the friend of John McCain. John may be letting his desire to believe his dear friend is completely clean and wants to be his friend because she genuinely likes him, taint his judgment. Other politicians who have similar friendships with Muslim Brotherhood members no doubt believe they are dealing with friends. But remember the story about the man who only wants to get a woman in bed, and once he does, the relationship goes downhill, and the woman will often find herself on the outside looking in used and abused. The Muslim Brotherhood wants an end to the American way of life and they don’t care how they bring it about. Like the man who simply wants sex, the Muslim Brotherhood will say and do anything to achieve their objective. It is the politicians who find themselves the targets of affection as their social simplicity leaves them defenseless against such charms.

I would suggest that Speaker Boehner not take for granted the evidence that is all around him. And he should not side himself against Bachman who is simply trying to do the right thing which her seat mandates. Playing politics plays into the plans of the Muslim Brotherhood. They count on such predictable behavior to launch their agenda against a sleepy society. But not everyone is asleep. And Speaker Boehner, it’s time to wake up and see things for what they are. These are not peaceful times conducted by peaceful people. And the Muslim Brotherhood is not your friend. All they want from you is your head on a pike, and they will do it the moment they get a turned back, and an open moment.

Visit the New “Tail of the Dragon” Store: A new map of the epic car chase is coming soon

Ron Johnson at Tail of the Dragon.com is one of the best marketing people I know. For over a decade after he retired as a firefighter in Florida, he and his wife Nancy have taken an obscure road 1 hour from everywhere on the western frontier of the Great Smoky Mountains and breathed life into what is one of the most exciting places on earth. US 129 known to thousands as Tail of the Dragon is a wonderful road with a deep history all by itself. But it is quickly becoming the next best thing in the United States to the famous Route 66. Within a few years, it may surpass that iconic roadway as America’s top thoroughfare.

I recently brought Ron some galley copies of my new novel Tail of the Dragon which he was involved in from even before I had secured a publisher, to his new store located at the corner of US 129 and US 28. When I first wrote the story all that existed at that corner was the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort which is now across the street where the Tree of Shame resides. Ron, the tireless visionary that he is, was well aware of the potential onslaught of interest that is coming his way in the wake of my novel’s release, and he is prepared.

For many years Ron and his wife have operated the Tail of the Dragon T-shirt shack from a property they rented where their store now resides. As I handed him a stack of books which was the first tangible result in over three years of our collaboration of a real product, we both had the sense that a new chapter had just began on that mythical stretch of road known throughout the world as Tail of the Dragon.

One of the reasons Ron and his wife are so successful is because they have created really cool T-shirt designs and they have for years been the primary suppliers of Dragon merchandise—everything from T-shirts to key chains. Ron and I discussed that if what happened to the actual bridges of Madison County in the wake of that successful book by Robert James Waller, happened to the Tail of the Dragon, he was going to be a very busy man, and he was ready for it. Before The Bridges of Madison County sold 10 million copies worldwide, nobody knew about the bridges that had been there for years in a small county in Iowa. But after that book, flocks of tourists migrated to the area to see and touch the images they read about in that fictional novel.

In preparation for the onslaught of tourism that is already prolific to the region, Ron has turned his T-shirt shack into a first-rate facility. Inside it is dedicated to everything you could possibly want in Tail of the Dragon merchandise, t-shirts, blankets, cup holders, movies, statues, books; just about anything you can think of. But Ron has gone several steps further than he needed to. Since Ron and Nancy have now purchased their formally rented lot, and now have a permanent structure, Ron has hired a metal worker to create multiple dragon themed sculptures shown all around his property, most notably the entrance to his new Dragon viewing platform that extends up the mountainside above his store. It was from up there that Ron told me of his plans to make maps and t-shirts featuring the massive car chase that takes place in my novel.

On this platform, spectators can rise up above the action and dine in style as they gaze down on cars ranging in price all the way up to two million dollars apiece, as a couple of Bugatti Veyron’s have been known to roam US 129 below. It’s not uncommon to see Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis, Porches, and virtually every exotic car known to mankind prowling one of the most intense roads in the world according to The Discovery Channel’s episodes of Hell Roads. Ron has made it so visitors to his store can look down on the action in the most unusual way possible.

Ron distinguished himself as a map maker and artist combining those two elements into wonderful t-shirts and maps giving names to all the important sights in the area. As he told me his intentions to map out the route taken in my action packed novel I thought it was a concept that was genius. From the very beginning my publisher and I worked hard to make it so people who enjoyed the novel, could follow the route which started literally on the Dragon right in front of Ron’s store. The car chase extends through the Dragon, through multiple roadblocks by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and dashes across the Foothills Parkway over to Townsend, Tennessee, then cutting across to Pigeon Forge where helicopters and massive roadblocks attempt to stop the nearly 200 MPH chase that storms through that popular resort town migrating into Sevierville causing millions of dollars in carnage. The chase finds its way out onto I-40 through several more roadblocks as the National Guard gets involved at the famous tunnels on the North Carolina border resulting in a giant rock slide which racks up millions of dollars more in damage. The chase then ends up in Ashville, North Carolina inside a shopping mall near the Biltmore Estate in what many who have already read the book are calling the most exciting action sequences ever written or seen in a movie. There are more roadblocks, before a death-defying run across the south side of the Smoky Mountains along US 19 at speeds exceeding 200 MPH ending at a gauntlet back in front of Ron’s store. As I stood on Ron’s new platform it was easy to see the action that happened in the book happening below me from my mind’s eye. That’s when I realized just how good Ron’s idea was in making a map of all those events as he did specific courses along The Dragon, The Cherohala Skyway, and the Moonshiner 28. I realized that in the book the car chase actually began all the way over on I-75 then to Tellico Plains, and across the entire Cherohala Skyway which is the only way drivers coming in from the west can get to The Dragon.

When I wrote the book, I wanted to encourage people to trace in real life the steps of Rick and Renee Stevens on their remarkable life changing journey which virtually takes in most of the major sites so beloved in the Smoky Mountain region. And for the first time since I went through the editorial steps of writing the book did I take the time to realize what a good job everyone who worked on the novel did in taking the potential reader on a journey through all those important landmarks in an action packed unfolding story. I should have known that Ron would have come up with the fantastic idea of creating a map of the entire chase zone.

After my wife and I parted Ron’s company for the day we went over to Gatlinburg to visit our favorite haunts in that mountain town we call our second home. During dinner, I kept thinking of Ron’s idea for a chase map and as I returned to the site that inspired me to write the novel to begin with on a trip to the Tail of the Dragon years ago, the Hollywood Star Cars Museum in downtown Gatlinburg. It was at this museum that I imagined the 700 HP veggie running, armored Firebird from my novel taking an honored place among the Batmobile and the General Lee motivating me to create a story that would help make that happen. Ron’s idea for a map had my mind on overdrive and virtually everywhere we went for the rest of the evening set my mind ablaze.

It is the weekend warrior who gains the most from the creative impulses of people like Ron Johnson, and the gifts he brings to society through constant innovation.
