The Delphi Technique is the creation of Saul Alinsky and is commonly used by community organizers derived from the written work by that known radical. This is why Obama is so good at it. President Obama as a lawyer has learned the very dangerous game of using The Delphi Technique to create a consensus in public opinion as he tests the waters in violating the Constitution bypassing congress to pass new laws. In the following clip you can see that prior to his executive orders as he tested the waters to build consensus among his political base prior to taking the unconstitutional actions against congress. What he’s doing is using the Delphi Technique to build support in mass by using the falsehood of a mythical democracy to use mass to defeat the Constitutional Republic that is the United States.
“This is just another spin for trying to manipulate the public. If Lakota wants to be sensitive to the public’s needs, they need to present to their teachers’ union a proposal to reduce their labor costs by 5% instead of asking the tax payers to pay even more,” Hoffman said.”

Omg! Seriously this is frightening! As someone who has taken various sales courses over the years, the Delphi Technique is so sneaky because you “feel”(important word) that you are part of the decision, discussion, not realizing that the cooperation is in fact complete manipulation!
Sadly, I have used “mirroring” and other manipulative techniques to be successful in sales…..but Im in the medical business and I am simply convincing others to chose one product over the other….not asking them to part with their money without delivering any perceived benefits.
Levy university? Really?
Yes, Levy University is really just a class they take at this event. The former superintendent of Mason, Kevin Bright was an instructor for several years. They teach all those basic sales methods you are talking about. Any of us who have done extensive sales in our backgrounds know the tactics. That’s why it’s so easy for me to see. They just change the names and put the moral charge by attaching the product validity behind children so the participants will buy into the concept. But it’s just another scam of sales tactics.
I’ve read everything Rich has ever posted on this blog and my opinion is that this may be the most important article yet. I don’t always have time to watch every video Rich posts but tonight I sat down and watched every one linked on this page. If you are reading this, *please* watch as many as you can, especially “Exposing the Delphi Technique in public meeting”. There’s one word that comes to mind when I watch this: insidious. I’ve been “Delphied” before and knew it as it was happening, and it’s very frustrating how the people around you can be led. The real way to combat this is to get as many people educated about it as possible.
As for the GBTV Obama video- Rich, it reminds me of the scene in “Revenge of the Sith” where Palpatine is given emergency powers and as the Senate claps and cheers Padme says, “So this is how liberty dies…with thunderous applause.” Chilling.
I didn’t say “best”…I said “may be the most important”. 🙂 You touch on many issues here at Overmanwarrior but many share the same common thread of the easily led masses. The first step to winning the war against tyranny is education.
Well…. not all salespeople are scoundrels(thinking about that movie tin men?). But we are certainly very well trained in every aspect of how to manipulate a situation and I agree with Phil, this is a very important article.
As a former board member, the Delphi was used against me over and over. As Dibble says to the board that they must be “team players.” OSBA teaches new board members that they must be on the team and support the superintendent. Their job is over after they select the superintendent. They expect a five – zero vote on all issues. If you ask questions . . . . . well, just don’t ask questions. The real board meetings are never in public. Usually there is one very strong member on the board and that person meets behind closed doors with the superintendent. The other members “follow the leader.” On the Lebanon board members have actually said at the meeting that they vote for whatever that member says. When I was on the board one member actually said that he read the full board package on the toilet on Sunday after church. He didn’t need to ask questions because he “trusted” the superintendent. Imagine reading that little tidbit in the board minutes.
I was lucky to be a member of Eagle Forum in the 70’s and so I was well aware of the Delphi Technique. Unfortunately, when the superintendent pits the entire board and staff against you, it is pretty hard to get any answers. He would ask the rest of the board if they needed the information that I had requested. Naturally, they said they didn’t need it because “they trusted hime” I was the one berated for having a trust issue. So it went. Even when the state audit came back with citation after citation, they refused to get a full report on the issues. Just “little” errors that couldn’t mean much. Even the prosecutor refused to look into the matter without a majority of the board. Since most superintendents pick their boards, that will never happen.
you have performed an important public service by educating people on the Delphi Technique. You can be sure that all of the public meetings pushing the levy will be using that technique full force. Alinsky is alive and well in the education business and has been for many years.
You’re awesome Gatekeeper!!! And folks, there’s a lot more to learn if you’re a nube. Start by watching these videos. This lady used to be second in command at the Department of Education.

I’m just kidding with you. I’m just surprised so many people are just learning about this Delphi Technique. It’s as common as space is black.
