Called to Greatness: The wonderful work of Josh Charles–Project Freedom Phoenix–coming soon

Even though some might think of me as the incarnate of evil because I have fought so hard against public education denying children endless supplies of tax money, and others as a godless heathen since I don’t speak very much on spiritual matters or prop up the church as the center of my existence, they may be shocked to learn that my article today is about my support of Josh Charles and his ministry in a group titled Called to Greatness. Both judgments about me are of course wrong. The first because I see that public education is destroying children and their imaginations with mundane progressive tripe. The second is because I spent 20 years close to a church and through constant reading questioning even the existence of God; I have cast aside Plato’s blind faith for Aristotle’s reason which does not allow me to blindly believe in anything. I am certainly not an atheist, and would not limit myself as objectivists do to only believe in what can be verified through the senses. I am more of a transcendentalist who looks to reason at the things the senses may miss since existence is multi dimensional. But I do not place my faith in anything that cannot be verified.

However I can consider such things only with a foundation that started with a belief system rooted in biblical tradition. Most of the people I get along with best are deeply religious people who aren’t sure why I can’t just accept faithfully the teachings of Jesus and in general God almighty. I have explained my reason in more detail with a previous article. For review CLICK HERE.

I am deeply disturbed by the current crop of young people emerging into the American economy starting from my age of about 40 years old down to the current 10-year-old. For thirty years, many of the people of these generations have had their ideas and traditions ripped from them through progressive politics that has attempted to destroy religion, the American family, and the very concept of self-reliance. The young people of today have been literally raped of their innocence and faith. And yes, raped is the correct word, since it was force that has attempted to remove all beliefs from American culture. That force has come from groups like the ACLU, and other progressive groups who promote radical Islamic rule while condemning Christianity so to transform America into something more easily conquered.

America was founded as a Christian nation, and without a sense of God, the nation means nothing, and America’s enemies know it. Even down to the simplest idea of “In God We Trust,” or “Do You Swear to Tell the Whole Truth so Help You God,” the roots of religion are there in the founding of our country. Without a respect of the idea of God a politician placing a hand on a Bible means nothing in a swearing-in ceremony, and our court system fails completely. This has been the objective as foreign interests have sought to destroy America from within, by robbing us of beliefs. The politician has attempted to replace God in our culture with faith in the gods of politics. Progressives like Obama are attempting to replace traditional ideas of God with a belief in Green Energy and planet worship. It’s still a religion, only the characters have changed. It’s essentially no different since all are faith based systems and cannot be verified by science.

Between two unverified religious systems if I have to pick a foundation belief for society, I will pick the side that holds goodness in the highest esteem, and promotes inner values most valiantly to build society with, and for me, that is the Christian. This is why I am partnering with Josh Charles author of The Original Argument in his work with a new group called Called to Greatness.

Called to Greatness is a 501(c)(3) ministry based out of Lawrence, Kansas that is dedicated to advancing the Kingdom of God in all areas of life in order to bring about cultural transformation, with a particular emphasis on reaching the next generation (college students). Josh is one of the staff members and has dedicated himself to combating the ignorance and faithless existence that many of America’s young people are currently suffering from, and I think his effort is fantastic.

Josh told me about Called to Greatness as he was reading my current book. In our correspondence he brought me up to date on what he has been doing over the last year since writing the current best seller The Original Argument with Glenn Beck and he is booked all over the world for the next year to begin the next step of his efforts which only started with translating the Federalist Papers into modern language so normal people who do not speak and read like lawyers can understand the founding documents.

Josh’s work is so well-respected that David Barton has placed his support behind Josh who is currently working on a project that will dwarf The Original Argument. Josh’s next project which will take a bit of time and is called Project Freedom Phoenix, in which Josh will simplify, and make much more readily accessible literally thousands of pages and documents from champions of freedom throughout history, with a particular emphasis on the Founding Fathers, and heroes of the Christian faith. Here is the blurb that David Barton gave Josh for The Original Argument and the continuing work of this fine young man:

The Original Argument is an incredibly important book not only for the times in which we live, but for future generations of Americans as well. It brings the message of our Founders to our ears again, loud and clear, and in a way that more people can understand and apply. The Federalist Papers are essential reading to anyone who seeks to understand our Constitution, and this re-working of this classic American text represents a monumental achievement. Anyone who loves their country seeks to understand our history and our Constitution better, and who wants to pass down the American heritage to their children and grandchildren, should own and study this book.

In Josh’s words “Project Freedom Phoenix” is a bigger, better, and much more expansive, much more of an all-encompassing Original Argument that will be available on a much broader scale. If this is what Barton said about The Original Argument and its impact, imagine what the impact of this new project could be? That is what supporting Josh Charles provides, and why I’m doing it. In May of 2013 Josh is scheduled to speak in Sydney, Australia at the World Congress of Families which is a large group of pro-family activists because of his work so far, and the work he is about to embark on.

As ironic as it sounds I see young people like Josh and those like him to be the “offense” that not only our nation requires, but the world over needs to combat the plague of progressivism. It’s ironic because Josh has a message of peace and love, and it is those elements that combat most effectively the evils of progressivism. There have not been enough effective spokesman for goodness, many of them have been eliminated from the public view by a progressive mentality hell-bent on personal destruction. I am fortunate to have lived in a time when Michael Landon was a big time television star and producer, and the Wonderful World of Disney played on television toward a family audience, not just babysitting children while both parents are busy in the other room doing their own thing like it is today. These days with all the entertainment options, few of them are geared toward positive family values and there must be more advocates in defense of family values and personal worth, and Josh has dedicated his life to bringing those elements to the most needed demographic group there is, the modern college kid.

In college so many young people are openly seduced by Marxist professors, sexual experiments that will forever degrade their marriages in the future, and drug exploration that will always loosen their boundaries leaving them with little conviction when they are raising children of their own. Now in the marketplace of ideas are young people like Josh Charles in organizations like Called to Greatness that are going to compete with all those ideas of chaos with a message of hope, and devotion that is key to successful living. But of course it doesn’t come cheap. It costs money to travel around the country and the world preaching these messages so Josh needs other sponsors to help keep him going. Just like in the local Tea Parties, Called to Greatness is publishing literature that they hand out to young people on campuses to entice them to take the next step, and those kinds of things also take money. It’s a great cause and is an action that can be taken against many of the tribulations occurring around our society like an avalanche of despair. Called to Greatness is just that, it’s a response to the greatness that flows within each of us with a goal of showing others to that light. Greatness is what has been attacked by the disease of progressivism. We have been told now for more than 40 years that nobody is great, that we could never be great, and that we must look to earthly rulers to give it to us. The message of Called to Greatness is to educate millions the world over that greatness is not in the mind of terrestrial politicians or any perversion of human weakness but is in individuals and their relationships to their God. That is why I support Josh and his mission. It’s important to educate the adult population to what they have been neglecting, which is what has been happening in the Tea Party groups all across this nation. But Called to Greatness is bringing that message to young people directly where it’s needed most in a way that only people completely dedicated to the cause like Josh can.

Josh Charles began this modern journey of his in Wilmington, Ohio when he made a pilgrimage there to see the church Glenn Beck was so impressed with across from the Murphy Theater. When I was in Wilmington to see Beck and what he was bringing to that small town just prior to Christmas 2010 I saw the hunger in people from the spiritually that came out of them, which is captured in the video I shot below which Scott Baker featured on The Blaze after Glenn’s visit. Josh and some of his friends went to Wilmington and grabbed hold of that spiritual essence, and now Josh is carrying that wave that started in Wilmington, Ohio and taking it to the entire world. Called to Greatness has been born from this kind of activism toward the message of goodness, and it makes me extremely proud to see. CLICK HERE TO REVIEW MY ARTICLE ABOUT WILMINGTON.

Josh Charles is one of the people who have taken the next step from that fateful day and was touched by the magic that was occurring in Wilmington, Ohio. The Original Argument as a book was born from that experience and the Project Freedom Phoenix promises to surpass that effort which excites me greatly. The magic of Wilmington only occurred two short years ago, but already, it is having an effect the world over. And it is young people like Josh Charles who are driving that effect. That is why I am supporting his efforts and I’d encourage anyone reading this to do so as well. If you have wondered at any time recently what the world was coming to and what you could do to help reverse the trends of treachery that you have observed, then put your support behind Called to Greatness and the young people like Josh Charles.

  1. We celebrated Independence Day in Wilmington and enjoy their fireworks. Amazing what that little town does with so little. We must remember that Wilmington College was started by the Quakers. They are a humble group of Christians and are known as “Friends.” Maybe that is why Wilmington is such a friendly little town.

    1. It is a nice town. Places like that are the soul of America. Obama’s idea of job creation is to go to a place like Wilmington and make all those people who lost their jobs at the DHL hub into teachers, firefighters, or police officers–in otherwords, more government employees. He’d inject billions of tax dollars into giving them government jobs so the statistics wouldn’t show unemployment. The people in Wilmington on the other hand have started doing jobs on the side to make extra money. They went to work at autostores, Walmarts and anywhere there were jobs. That’s what a survivor does, and that’s what Wilmington did, and that’s typically what all the flyover states do. Such a concept is not on the table for the typical east coast politician or progressive suck-ass.
