A Fox and Her Babies: Being cunning, free–and ALIVE!

I found it fascinating and ironic that a family of foxes made a home in the drain pipe at the end of my driveway. For as long as I have been alive I have loved the character of Zorro which means “fox” in Spanish. They are nocturnal creatures who are extremely difficult to catch. As a young man in Liberty Township I knew plenty of people who trapped foxes hoping to catch them for their pelts. I always hoped that the foxes would evade capture—like Zorro—my favorite defender of justice. Only a few times did I see them captured, but otherwise they were like mysteries of the night. I would see them occasionally like ghosts sneaking across the yard—cat like, but large like dogs with their big bushy tails flowing out like the cape of Zorro. As soon as your eyes focused on them, they were gone again leaving their presence to be in question—as if doubt could be placed on their existence. So it came with some shock that a fox came to my home to give birth to her pups. It is highly unusual to see a fox in the daylight but because the babies had no idea what night and day was yet, they were up at all hours blowing the cover of the normally nocturnal fox. Here is a video of their activity at the end of my driveway.

Zorro is a character created in 1919 by New York–based pulp writer Johnston McCulley. The character has been featured in numerous books, films, television series, and other media. Zorro is the secret identity of Don Diego de la Vega, a Californio nobleman and master living in Los Angeles during the era of Spanish rule.

The character has undergone changes through the years, but the typical image of him is a dashing black-clad masked outlaw who defends the people of the land against tyrannical officials and other villains. Not only is he too cunning and foxlike for the bumbling authorities to catch, but also delights in publicly humiliating them. That last part is a trait that I have personally carried with me most of my life. It is what a fox does and if I had to identify with an animal, it would be that of a fox.

That left a question in my mind as to why if that fox were so smart, why would she decide to have babies at the end of my driveway right next to a road that has frequent travelers just feet from their play area? A fox should be smarter than that. Her nest was quite well out in the open causing many people to drive by and slow down in disbelief wondering if they were really seeing what they thought they saw. I watched the fox and her cubs playing and nursing just feet from the crushing tires of the large cars going by and found it interesting that the little animals never jumped out under them even by accident. The mother was secure in her knowledge that her children would escape danger. She seemed unconcerned.

Even when I went out to film the fox and her litter she seemed unconcerned by me. I deliberately stayed away so that the little ones would not become complacent to my presence, because they needed to stay vigilant. Not all humans they encounter will respect them they way I do. Many will want to make a coat out of them. So it is important that the little fox cubs not let down their guard. But the mother had made her decision after very careful assessment and her pick of birthing location was no accident. The nature of a fox is always a planned escapade that has elusiveness in their prerogative.

In the morning several times the mother fox would sit next to my driveway as the sun came up and I would drive my loud motorcycle right by her and she would not move. She had determined by some unknown method that I was not a threat to her or her children—but how did she know? As I thought of her strategy she was actually quite clever in her endeavor to give birth in that particular location. The success rate of having babies in the drain pipe is that coyotes, cats, and other small carnivores won’t have easy pickings of her cubs while she’s away hunting food. Her dangers are minimized if only she could have assurance that the humans who can see her in plain site will respect her space. The cars that go by are much less of a concern to her dashing children than the natural predators of the nearby woods.

The more I watched her over the last few weeks the more respect I had for her. A few times I had to chase off gawkers who were being too intrusive of her space, and the Butler County Animal control people had to be talked off the wire a few times—thinking that they needed to take some kind of action. My wife told them that the little ones would be big enough to go to the woods on their own soon, so their services were not needed. A few other nosy people behaved similarly thinking that it was their job to remove the little creatures from human eyes—because foxes are known carnivores and do kill cats and small dogs. To them a small army of foxes growing up under my driveway was a threat to their lives in some way. At our home we have an outside cat that lingers in our garage but is out and about in the day and the cat and the fox do not pay each other much attention. In our backyard is a ground-hog that is a full-time resident and harasses our two dogs with his pudgy body wobbling across the yard when he sees them. The fox has shown no desire to bother any of these animals. They are all living happily on my property without fanfare.

They will soon be gone and it is unlikely that I will ever see anything like them again. The more I watched them, the more cunning I came to understand the mother fox to be. Like Zorro, she knew how to hide from her enemies in broad daylight in much the way Don Diego hid in society disguised from his foxlike justice seeking alter ego. The mother fox had made the ultimate strategic move to preserve the lives of her children from the natural predators of the wild—she found safety under my driveway knowing well enough that my family would not be a threat to hers. And she hedged her bet that she would gain enough human support to fight off the parasites of humankind as she insulated herself away from the threats of the woods—until her children were big enough to care for themselves. The cars were surely dangerous, but not as much so as snakes, and other carnivores looking to feed themselves on the young babies—so the fox placed herself between the dangers of two worlds to find that perfect balance of safety for her children.

It was a bold move by the mother, but I am happy to have assisted her—a fellow fox of outsmarting the very nature of life itself and mocking it with her bold presence. Her daylight presence was almost like giving the middle-finger to the nearby woods and all the animals there wishing to make an easy meal of her babies. She knew what she was doing and I’m glad she did. It was a sight and trust that I will not soon forget. From one fox to another…………………………..adios.

The Grand Lie of Public Education: How to fix a broken system

When anybody uses the term, “we must educate our children to compete in the global marketplace,” or any variation of that term the instigator is totally ignorant as to what makes education valuable. They falsely believe that education consists in teaching children left-winged ideology and work habits of a 100% commitment to institutionalism and that since the rest of the world is moving in that direction, that American education must consist of these erroneous premises. After all, political “leaders” see how things are done in China, and Japan, and they believe they must copy those methods—which is probably the dumbest thing that could be introduced to an American workforce and the people who make it up. People who believe that “education” as defined by Common Core standards is the way to direct young minds might as well be crack addicts instructing others on responsible living. The point of education eludes them making them a menace to the discussion of learning.

The most important attribute public education could and should implement into an instructional system of any kind, is the ability to think. The second thing it could do would be to teach students to be competent human beings. Anything outside of those parameters is useless to a human mind, and merely ornamental. Education is not a race against the socialists of Europe, the communists of China, or the kamikaze driven Easterner. Americans are imaginative, intuitive, and utilize large amounts of horse sense in their utilization of productivity and their education system needs to reflect this trend.

Americans fix tractors often with shovel handles, solve complicated engineering feats with bubble gum, and produce more patents than anyplace else in the world—because they are a free people who are at liberty to think. However modern education which leans way to far to the political left, is about chasing the rest of the foolish world teaching our youth to be just as stupid as everyone else, and to turn off their minds to the process of thought—and to embrace blind submission to institutional authority. This is the most damaging attribute that can be taught to an American.

If those who support government education want real success, not just statistical success relative to the rest of the world’s false methods they would teach young minds to “think” not just remember facts given to them by the state. Even conservatives are guilty of this tendency of believing that by committing resources to “education” that they have done their job. They don’t consider the quality of education, only that someone is doing something educationally related. They don’t think of what the implications of education may be if the wrong things are learned, or the wrong interpretation of history is broadcast to young minds awaiting programming of their brain by trusted adults.

Michelle Rhee the popular education reformer at the heart of the movie Waiting for Superman is wrong when she says that education is the key to the success of American children. That cliché is overused and ridiculous. It is a mythology designed to preserve the education culture and their utopian vision for the world. Most of those people are well-intentioned human beings who simply love children and teaching them—but they do not consider in those assessments the quality of their love, or their intelligence as factors that can hold back children from living otherwise fruitful lives. They assume that they are qualified to teach just because the state has given them a license to do so—a license that meant the teacher had to comply with the state’s version of reality.

The way to alleviate these faux pas in education is to teach children to think. Why is Common Core so vile and evil? The reason is that the only way it can work is to limit the intelligence of the most brilliant and force them to only be as good as the weakest links. Our modern education system does not like making such value judgments—which is why they ultimately are failures. The belief with Common Core is that if children spin their wheels copying off students from countries reeking with statism, that success will abound and that such success can be had by not asserting value to the quality of the students or their educations. It cannot. If students aren’t taught first how to think, or how to be competent human beings, the education system will fail 100% of the time.

If the value is to produce students who will mindlessly serve the state, then modern education throughout the world is doing its job. But if the goal is to teach human beings to invent new things, start businesses, vote correctly, or mentor a child—they are way off the intended target and have no hope of getting there under the current circumstances. Education is more than just lip service—it is a philosophy. It can’t be memorized; it has to be a part of an individual mind. There is no way to cheat it. If garbage is put into a mind, then garbage will come out.

My daughter sent me a text the other day that featured a cartoon of a young person reading a book. The caption read, “Uploading data to the human brain.” What we feed our brains is what we ultimately become. If we read good books, think good thoughts, and use our imaginations to explore possibilities, we will have reasonable success in life. But before that can happen, “good” has to be identified, and stood behind. If on the other hand we put into our minds garbage like pornography, sports stats, trivial nonsense like global warming issues, political diatribes and that kind of thing, our minds over time will become encumbered with sluggish thought processes. Education is not good unless the value of good accompanies it. A well-rounded education is not exploring sexuality, worshiping the earth, or supporting teacher unions. It is about learning to think and living as a competent individual.

It is utterly shocking how many functioning adults in 2014 are incompetent fools. The only way I can avoid this incompetency is to not leave my driveway in the morning, because there are some really stupid people functioning in the world—which is evidence that our education system is a complete failure. Yet politicians want us to do more of this foolishness so they can get their fingers on federal money dangled like bait in a trap to supersede our state sovereignty. That is just idiotic.

It is easy to make clichéd comments about education without considering the implications and it happens all the time. But the answer is not in just hiring more teachers, giving more money to teachers, or building more schools. That is not enough. The real intent of education is in teaching people to “think.” Without thought there is no education, there is no mind, and there certainly isn’t any kind of future. Without thought, there is nothing—but empty promises and misery. And I want no part in that.

“May The 4th Be With You”: A long weekend of “HOPE”

My long-awaited Rebel Transport came to my home at the conclusion of the new international Holiday, May 4th. I was ecstatic to put my hands on that new creation from Fantasy Flight Games and without a doubt; it will load my spare time with countless adventures. The sheer joy of the new game X-Wing Miniatures is wonderfully articulated in the picture below. This is literally what its like at my house. And it will get worse—I promise. Over the weekend while playing a game of X-Wing, to celebrate May 4th, the official Star Wars day which happens every year with great fanfare, my one and a half-year old grandson wanted desperately to play the game with me. So I let him roll my dice and he loved it.

 Xwing

For the first time that I can think of the official Star Wars weekend launched a spectacular amount of news over the first weekend of May. First the new cast was announced for the new films—which had their first script read together last week. At midnight the new Rebels television show released their new preview which can be seen below. Guess who was watching it at 12:01 AM in the morning of May 4th? Me! On top of all that even the Cincinnati Reds dedicated a whole weekend against their first place division rivals the Milwaukee Brewers. It was Star Wars weekend at Great American Ballpark in Downtown Cincinnati. My family went on Friday night when after the game there was a spectacular fireworks display to the music of the famed musical conductor John Williams that ignited the sky. From the premium seats in Great American Ballpark it was the best fireworks display I had ever seen. Just a bit behind home plate, most of the people who normally sit in that section had got up and left leaving us nearly alone in the coveted section and completely untouched by other human beings. However most of the 30,000+ crowd stuck around with their children and they loved the show with much emotion. During the entire game Friday night, Star Wars characters were all over the field and the music was piped in through the stadium and it was genuinely inspiring to see the two entertainment franchises coming together like that.

Leading up to that baseball game many of the die-hard Reds fans on talk radio and elsewhere were perplexed as to why the baseball team even attempted to cater to a new “geeky” demographic group. I wanted to tell them, but they lacked the language to understand. Just like they would never understand why I kept checking my UPS tracking number on my Rebel Transport during the game hoping it would arrive for a vicious game of X-Wing the following Saturday. I’m 46 years old and to their minds should be interested in a lot of other things—but I am part of that demographic that the Reds were reaching out to—and among young people there are a lot more like me coming to age.

Two weeks from now Hollywood Studios, Florida has their Star Wars Weekends which are always fun. The first weekend is the popular dance off which I always love displayed in the center stage of that fabulous park. Those weekends are typically so busy that the parking lot spills over into the Epcot Center. The parade is one of the most spectacular displays of Star Wars fandom anywhere in the world. The question from the un-initiated is…………..why?

During the Reds game I had to explain to my daughter how when I was younger I had to make a difficult cultural decision. I was spectacular in sports and every teacher who coached a sport wanted me to be on their team. I was the fastest kid in my school especially during my grade school years. Athletically, I could have done anything I wanted to. But, culturally back then, it was taboo to enjoy Star Wars because that made a person categorically a geek. And I loved Star Wars. I was friends with one of the most popular girls in my school and her younger brother was one of my best friends. Through her I could have had access to the upper echelons of public school popularity. But I hated it and wanted nothing to do with any of that politicking. Instead her brother would come to my house on a Friday night and bring all his Star Wars toys and he, my brother, my brother’s friends and I would play with all those toys until late into the night. I never got sick of it even when I was older and my girl friend was interested in boys and all the kids my age were going to dances and hanging out at football games. She thought I was weird because I had no interest in the life she lived. I had picked Star Wars over sports because the culture dictated that you had to choose.

I thought it astonishing that the Reds actually had a Star Wars weekend because finally after 30 years of human evolution the marketing department for the Cincinnati Reds understood that if they want to survive into the future, that they better find a way to appeal to the “Star Wars Geeks.” The game of baseball with all its traditions is struggling to appeal to younger audiences, so they are getting creative even though in an interview with Brandon Philips on 700 WLW, he clearly didn’t understand.

In a lot of ways the new X-Wing Miniatures game is closely associated with those late night sessions playing Star Wars as a kid, and even as a grown adult I’d still rather do that than hang out in some other venue doing something I’d consider utterly useless. Many people confuse Star Wars and Star Trek as being of the same thing, but they are radically different. Star Wars is not about just exploring new frontiers in space and the interactions of characters with different backgrounds and species types. Star Wars is a deep, and rich mythology that works in ways that religion struggles with and is a creation of our times exploring all the primary concerns of our day. Star Wars for me is a western in that it is primarily concerned with the same type of honorable values. It is also about technological innovation and has its roots in drag racing where a young George Lucas loved cars and carried that love over into the space ships of Star Wars. Many of the beat up ships of the new Star Wars games are like galactic hot rods and have a similar appeal as Hot Wheel cars, only these can be used strategically to beat an opponent in a game of thought. I have never seen anything like the new Rebel Transport created for a simple game. By itself, it is an amazing work of art.

Ultimately the wars of Star Wars are about value and the popularity of those films in all the venues extending beyond the silver screen are essentially about preserving or destroying values. For me, the stories of those values carried far more weight than just athletic prowess in sports, or the ability to kiss a girl at a dance. Watching the Cincinnati Reds embrace those values gave me tremendous hope for the future transcending a human leap of evolution many were not aware of. But I saw it during the Reds post game fireworks display and the many tens of thousands who were at Great American Ballpark to enjoy the relatively private show. With all the news that came out about Star Wars during the May 4th Weekend I understood with renewed vigor why the first film was titled A New Hope. The movie was not just about a galaxy far, far away a long time ago but about our human race in the here and now. For many, myself included, Star Wars is about a new hope. My infant grandson knows it, the people at the Reds game knew it, and the thousands who like me were watching the Rebels preview at 12:01 AM knew it. And I wasn’t the only one waiting for my Rebel Transport to arrive over the weekend. Most fans of Star Wars find in it a hope that is otherwise vacant. Hope is why I picked Star Wars over sports as a kid, and space ships over girls. I’m still that way, only my wife actually plays that stuff with me, which is why we’ve been married so long.

The new Rebel Transport is one of the most dramatic things I have ever looked at for a whole lot of reason—most of them centered on hope. In the films the Rebel Transport was the rebels last hope of punching through imperial blockades and fleeing for freedom to live another day in a fight between tyranny and goodness. The X-Wing Miniatures model is really just a lot of plastic and paint, but it is in the organization of those things into a coherent interactive story about hope that makes it something I was checking its arrival time every hour on the hour over the entire weekend. And now that I have it, all is right with the world. The reason is that it represents to me hope, and that is the core of what the term, “May the 4th be with you” really means.

The Great Gatsby: Preparing for assassinations against Americans

I have received several warnings from readers here at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom that within the year of 2014 to 2015 that I am on the target list of professional assassins headed to my doorstep.  These assassins are part of a kind of shadow government which desire a one world command guided by socialism desiring to eliminate those considered front-runners of any particular resistance.  My usual answer to these well-meaning readers is that I’m looking forward to the attempt—which I am.  It will be good to finally drop away the pretense of civility and act out of an authenticity indicative of our times.  I would rather deal with professional assassins than political back stabbers embedded in our neighborhoods as friends.  However, to an increasing number of Americans who consider themselves part of the Sovereign Citizen movement this knowledge is quite terrifying.  Many of the supporters of the Sovereigns are deeply religious and take scripture literally—so the information coming at them quickly now closely resembling The Book of Revelations is literally terrifying and the assassins of the upcoming apocalypse are something to be dreaded.  To understand these types of people who have some legitimate points, this video from Sgt. Major Page was given to the St Louis Oath Keepers.

I listen cautiously to these kinds of public speakers because most of their opinions are laced with fear instigated from the basic premise of social antagonism.  They are insulted to learn that there are elements of global politics from finance to actual office holders who wish to end American sovereignty and the Constitutional Rights of its citizens.  Their reaction is often extreme when they run across this information and their number is growing.  When people lose their trust in government, the natural reaction are people like Sgt. Page.

Oath Keepers and Tea Party types are considered by the hard left and even the moderate middle grounders in politics to be radical because they consider as progressives adherence to traditional values, Christianity, or Constitutional purity, to be terrorism.  So people who adhere to traditional values in America are considered terrorists to those who wish to change it and a war is on the horizon.  Sgt. Dan Page was correct in his speech when he said that in such a future confrontation only 3% of the population will actually resist and anybody considered in that 3% is targeted for assassination before the actual violence transpires due to economic crises, global incident, or other subversive measures.

Currently, which has been more than adequately discussed by me, government education is heading down the exact path that Sgt. Page discussed.   Today’s school levy supporter is tomorrow’s distressed parent wondering why their public school wants their 2 and 3-year-old children to stay at a pre-school campus under the constant care of a teacher.  Most school teachers today have no idea of the possibilities designed for their future, but it will not be a long time before states declare such things as legal necessity for national security driven by global competition.  And once a law is created police and teachers will enforce those laws and parents will wonder how they lost control of their children so quickly.  The needs of the state will superseded the needs of the individual.  China’s GDP is surpassing the GDP of America and the blame will be placed on the poor education of American children—leading to earlier education start times dictated by the state—because that’s how things are done in China—the current driver of world economic standards.

Where I disagree with Sgt. Page is that he is a blind supporter of taxation—where I am absolutely not.  He is a federal employee and as he says—he is still owned by the United States military.  He believes that contractors like him will be hired to hunt down people like me and that he will win.  Nope.  Won’t happen, it doesn’t matter how many sniper shots a trained killer has taken or heads they have cut off.  The bottom line is that they are by their very nature creations of the state and they will go down by the state as well.  If I had to report how many meetings I have been in where bureaucrats came up with some kind of plan that quickly fell apart the moment everyone left the conference room, I’d give the ratio of success at zero.  The more people involved, the greater the tendency of failure and in an operation like what Sgt Page is discussing I believe the intentions are real, but I do not believe that anybody in government is competent to pull it off.  I believe they will try, but they will fail just as they fail at everything government does.  Ultimately when they send people like Sgt. Page to my doorstep with his Green Beret trained antics the government will fail because it needs people like me to be productive and continue feeding it.  So they are the ones caught in a Catch 22.  They may not want people like me around, but they can’t live without me either.

There have been a few who have tried to “sway” me away from my task over the last couple of years with “force.”  Their mistake, and foolishly, they won’t be the last.  But most  of the time—probably 90% of the time the people involved are completely incompetent and unable to achieve their objectives and that ratio won’t alleviate just because of a desire on behalf of the insurgents supporting progressivism.  They are doomed to fail and unable to do much behind hiring contractual killers and holding meetings to talk about doing things. Of the given pool of contractual killers out there in the world, only a few will actually attempt to perform the task because most are on my side of things and hate the governments trying to employ them. Those who have no real convictions and can take money to kill a good person are bad people and in the rock, paper, and scissor game of life good beats bad because value destroys those who lack value.  The only way that poor value beats value is by surprise and deceit which significantly lowers the opportunities for success of mission objectives.

More powerful than any weapon in Sgt. Page’s arsenal is the written word.  Millions of people have read by this point in their lives the novel The Great Gatsby by F.S. Fitzgerald which is a favorite of mine.  Most people read that novel and think that it is about American excess in capitalism and how the evils of old money need to be leveled off for fairness to all.  The villain in the novel was after all an Ivy League wealthy polo player who believed that he was born superior to everyone else and in the end he got the girl.  But I understand the Great Gatsby, I get his innovation, I understand his passion, and I understand deeply his tenacity—his single minded determination to stare at the green light across the harbor and get what he wants.  I learn from such stories and I won’t be making the same mistakes as to let old money beat the new—or to let scandal and love blind the opportunities for success—my green light is not an unappreciative lover living a dual life in scandal but an ideal of Constitutional purity.  The schemes of the old world will not find a weakness that will be brought down by a car accident.  It might be said that I was so inspired by Fitzgerald that I use the written word as my weapon as opposed to meeting the contracted Sgt. Pages out on the battlefield where their military trained minds only think one way and are sluts to their dollars given to them by bureaucrats to remove that 3% opposition to their objectives.

The Great Gatsby has been available to millions of people for over 100 years yet 97% of those readers think the novel is a cautionary tale about the American Dream.  It is not.  It is about the ability of one man to completely dominate New York society and Long Island politics in a short 5 year period.  Yet Gatsby never cared about the money so much, only about the woman he loved who did love money and in the end, she picked the cheating husband of old money over the loyal charisma of new money. The new money is America the old money is Europe.  On the battlefield the old money is Sgt. Dan Page and I am the Great Gatsby—only I haven’t dedicated my life to making money for women, but to using the power of the written word to appeal to the 3% out there in the world who understand The Great Gatsby without explanation and will join me on the battlefield when the time comes to fight in a way that the contracted killers can’t understand against an enemy that is the purer version of their former selves.  In the end, guilt will rob them of their wits, and their trigger finger.

I appreciate the concern, I really do.  But I’m playing my own Great Gatsby game but the focus isn’t the same as the 1925 Fitzgerald novel.  And in that game there are rules that haven’t even been taught yet that will come into play and the statism trained provocateurs will be at a serious disadvantage.  Yes, hard times are coming, but it isn’t the Book of Revelations—the end of times, that we are dealing with. Rather, it’s an undefined time that has not yet been taught to human populations because nobody has yet framed these arguments in ways that 97% of the population will understand.  But the 3% do, and in the coming war—that’s all I need.  We should learn from the literary classics—not repeat them.

“Give Us Barabbas”: J.D. Winteregg gets fired from his teaching job

I didn’t see anything wrong with the ad by they guy I will be voting for in the upcoming Republican primary challenge against House Speaker John Boehner. J.D. Winteregg, has received outside support from the Tea Party Leadership Fund in his bid for Boehner’s House seat and produced a really effective video against Boehner that was very cleaver. If Winteregg’s time in congress would be half as innovative as his campaign, we would have very good representation in Congress indeed. He has been an adjunct professor at Cedarville University, a small Christian college in Cedarville, Ohio, for the last three years. Last week however, Winteregg was told his contract would not be renewed because of the controversial elements in a political ad, a video parody of erectile dysfunction advertisements centered around John Boehner’s name. Have a look for yourself.

“They said because of the ad that my relationship with them will be done. It’s over,” Winteregg said Monday. “The ad obviously touched a nerve.”

The minute-long video includes sexual innuendo and shows couples gazing longingly at each other—which is too much for Cedarville University, Winteregg’s former employer.

“Used on a daily basis, Winteregg in Congress will help you every time the moment is right — to have your voice heard at the federal level,” a narrator says in the ad. “If you have a Boehner lasting longer than 23 years, seek immediate medical attention.”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2014/04/28/boehner-rival-loses-job-over-campaign-ad/

In a statement, Cedarville University spokesman Mark Weinstein said that Winteregg’s teaching responsibilities had concluded for the semester and that Winteregg is not scheduled to teach future classes.

“Cedarville University does not engage in partisan politics and holds a high regard for displaying Christian values in the community. When faculty or staff members participate in political conversations, interviews, advertisements, or endorsements, they are doing so as individual citizens. Mr. Winteregg in his recent political campaign video did not represent the views or values of Cedarville University,” Weinstein said.

So in other words Cedarville University is supporting John Boehner and the established political structure. They are willing to go to the extent of taking away the job of a person who challenges that establishment, yet thousands of teachers every year are protected from their jobs for bad behavior against their students—where sex acts, abuse, and manipulation are rampant. J.D. Winteregg lost his job for challenging the establishment.

Is it a mystery that good people in the teaching profession sit on their hands and keep their mouths shut—just doing what they are told? Who wants to lose their livelihood for participating in political theater? The answer is almost nobody—which is why so many vast evils are conducted right under our noses—because nobody has the courage to confront them. Because when they do, what happened to J.D. Winteregg is the most common result.

Winteregg was not fired from his job for a controversial ad against John Boehner.   Cedarville University was not protecting itself from “sin” by standing up for God and lashing out at the Republican challenger. J.D. Winteregg was fired to preserve the status quo by sending a message to others thinking of following the lead of the young conservative. That message is intended to keep their mouths shut—hold their nose and vote for John Boehner and hold the party line against the Democrats. The message is intended to convince them to stay away from radical behavior such as pulling the center of political activity back to the right. The goal is to just hold the ground against the left. Essentially, the message is to play into the battle plan of the progressive which has affected virtually every institutional element of our society. It is this same behavior which has allowed a community activists like Obama to outmaneuver the Speaker of the House in virtually every major matter that has moved through Washington since 2010.

The battle between Boehner and Winteregg, and Republicans against Tea Party Conservatives is essentially the fight between young and innovative against old and sold out. Who knows what kind of guy Winteregg would be as a Congressman from Ohio. He may be great, or he may fall from grace. But we do know what kind of person John Boehner is—he has fallen from grace and is ineffective. He has lost his credibility and he’ll never get it back in political office. He enjoys the pageantry of the Presidency, he likes to golf with President Obama, and he is willing to cut deals surrendering conservativism to progressivism. Clearly Boehner should not be re-elected and a fresh face needs to take over.

However, because of Winteregg’s challenge of Boehner, Cedarville University has fired the young man and robbed him of his livelihood. Instead, they as a supposedly Christian college are willing to stand behind Boehner who has lost tremendous ground to an abortion advocate, a gay community cheerleader, and supporter of the legalization of illegal drugs. By supporting John Boehner they strengthen President Obama. Boehner has been kicked around and abused handedly by Obama and has proven himself unable to compete against a complete idiot—so why should he gain one vote in the May primary? Why would Cedarville University not back a fellow Christian soldier marching off to war in Winteregg, because they are part of the problem—enablers afraid of confrontation and real support of conservative ideals. They are happy to allow themselves to be fed to the lions of progressivism without raising a fist, or defending themselves in the least way, instead, they threw Winteregg to the lions in much the way that the mob in Jerusalem released Barabbas and convicted the “King of the Jews.” That is not to say that J.D. Winteregg is Jesus Christ, but like the Christ he is challenging the authority of his day, and they are treating him the same way. With a crucifixion intended to place the insurgents back into the shadows to lick their wounds and preserve the livelihood of the Pharisees, the Republicans under Boehner are protecting their party from innovation.  And they don’t care who they have to sacrifice to do it. Today it is J.D. Winteregg, tomorrow it may be you dear reader. But on May 6th when voters cast their support behind John Boehner, they will essentially be declaring…………………”GIVE US BARABBAS!” And through the election process baffled Pontius Pilot types within the political establishment will quietly be surprised to see Barabbas set free to continue playing golf with the American insurgent—Barack Obama. Meanwhile, J.D. Winteregg will be treated as an outcast, jobless and battered for challenging the orthodox authority of the Republican Party—particularly at Christian Colleges.

Those same minds will then wonder why there is so much evil in the world, and why there are no courageous heroes rising up to fight it. Then they will find themselves following Barabbas to the ends of the earth rolling in the looted wealth of established—legalized theft—and Cedarville University will get its desired donations to keep it funded from the same people who gave Boehner money to stay Speaker of the House—in name only.

Dr. Duke Pesta’s Speech on Common Core: Public education is dangerous and detrimental to children

I recently wrote an article about a popular band teacher at my school district of Lakota who is in trouble, and many of his supporters came to his defense, angry at me.  CLICK HERE TO REVIEW. Read the comments there to see what I’m talking about.  The teachers and the parents who supported the band teacher are simply malfunctioning humans who have been programmed incorrectly through progressive educations, and the more I hear from them, the angrier I get at modern public education.  I am 100% convinced that public schools are DETRIMENTAL to the American way of life, and it is clearly on purpose.  The proof is all around us, it’s not even hidden.  I hate public education because it is run by the state—the federal government should not be involved in a capitalist society’s education, and it is purposely dumbing down the students so to attack the premise of capitalism in America.  For proof I submit the following video which is a two-hour lecture about the dangers of Common Core by Dr. Duke Pesta.  Why am I angry at public education…………………watch the video at the 1 hour 10 minute mark.  You will see it clearly.

Teacher unions are radical organizations committed deeply to the progressive transformation of society.  Even good teachers who know this keep their mouths shut because the unions give these employees high rates of pay that they wouldn’t get at Wal-Mart—which most of them are only qualified to do as far as productive equivalency standards are concerned.    The money teachers make is hush money while they accept progressive transformation methods driven by communism to destroy American capitalism.  I would not hate public education if they taught young people how to make money, create a good work ethic and expand the influence of capitalism throughout the world. Instead, public schools sponsored by the federal government is at war with capitalism and are fully open in their support of socialism and that makes government schools enemies of the state.

The commenters on my article referred above do not wish to accept this—just as you dear reader are having difficulty with what I am saying right now.  Yet I have never been surer of something than I am that public education institutions are hell-bent as a unified organization on destroying the minds of children and their families into a collective whole where group consensus rules over logic.  For anybody who has tried to hire an American worker, the results of three decades of idiotic teaching methods are in.  Where farms used to produce good hard-working young men and women who could be relied upon and an occasional loafer would sometimes be seen, the trend now is that such hard workers built within public schools is rare—almost nonexistent and the loafers are everywhere.  The work ethic of the modern American is terrible and they are not motivated to improve because their minds have been ground into mush during their public school days by progressive institutional instruction.

The situation is so bad that I didn’t even want my daughters to date American boys when they were teenagers.  So many young men, not necessarily of their fault—are just douchebags, scummy, smelly, drunkards proud of their lack of sophistication.  The young men learned this behavior in their public school culture which promotes stupidity.  I was so serious about this problem that my oldest daughter actually married a young man from England who grew up with socialism but came from a good family that still believed a little in traditional value.  There are good young men still out there, but they are hard to find and women are struggling to locate them.  The situation is technically the biggest contemporary crises of our time yet it is also one of the most ignored because most people exploring these topics are guilty of being the douchebags.

The point of Common Core as exhibited in the video by Dr. Pesta is to perpetuate the false belief, the Kantian philosophic theme that belief by the many can shape the reality of the whole.  God forbid when these young Common Core students try to build a bridge with the mathematics that doesn’t allow stacking numerical values but symbols and belief.  If a consensus of the majority believes that 4 + 4 = 40062, then who are we as individuals to question the reality of that proposition.  That is the public school way—the instruction is not to learn that the value of two groups of four add together to give eight, but that value is a relative term.  Under that belief system, good is relative and so is bad.  Is it any wonder that so many people have lost their way these days?  Is it a mystery that Ohio government cannot build a bridge into Kentucky any longer along the I-75 corridor through Cincinnati—because public schools have taught that no action can be made until there is a group consensus—and government is awaiting action until that consensus is reached.  Until then all parties will be mired in stagnation.

American business is plagued presently with this very debacle.  It is extraordinarily difficult to find any member of a business transaction willing to make a decision—even easy ones.  Fear of overregulation, lawyers, and just general responsibility have created in America a trend where the spineless run everything and they are as numerous as the stars in a desert night sky.  The occasional bold, decisive, decision maker on the other hand is as rare as a four leafed clover in the middle of a Pentagon parking lot.  That fault is the education system which taught everyone involved–public education which is teaching the kind of crap seen in the video by Dr. Pesta.

Stupid people don’t often look in the mirror and declare that they are faulty products of bad mental programming which started when they were 5 years old when they entered a public school.  It is only over age 55 when their bodies are in rapid decline, their marriages are in a shambles, their children are idiots and their own parents are dead when the realization hits them hard.  At that point they take up golf to find some peace on the vast greens of Americana, or maybe take up a young mistress, gamble their life away in a casino, or join a Tea Party and try to correct a lifetime of errors.  They do this because they reason that they only have thirty years of their life left to them—but its often too late.  Public schools made them into idiots and 50 years or more of such behavior cannot be erased with a few good deeds.  Just like the Common Core math, a few good things done does not cancel out thousands of stupid decisions, like getting drunk at frat parties in college, or being a loser in their careers and being happy with it, or dropping their children off at a public school and surrendering them to the progressive teachers who want to radically change society into a communist utopia.

I hate public education because of what it has done to over 300 million people who would otherwise be better off without the creation of the Department of Education.  It’s not hatred of learning, but because of a love of it that I hate government-run education which is insisting on Common Core and the nightmare shown in Dr. Duke Pesta’s video.  No civilization including America will survive long taught the methods currently popular in public education.  And wishing for a different outcome by the group consensus of over 300 million people does not make my opinion about it wrong.  In the end anybody who wants success in their life and their children will have to come to the same realization that I have, and Common Core math will not make the medicine go down any easier once that realization hits.  People may get mad, but the reality won’t change because they have achieved “consensus” and determined that they are correct.  The actuality of their circumstances will say otherwise and they will not like the results.

Hives of Scum and Villainy: What casino gambling in Ohio is all about

When advocates of Issue 3 in 2009 walked away from their victory in Ohio they declared that the “people had spoken.”   Their looting tendencies were infected with the sudden cash cow known as casino gambling which would now become a constitutional amendment in Ohio that had finally overcome the previous four attempts by the casino industry to operate within the long tradition against such things in Ohio.  It might be realized that it was shortly thereafter that election I began this blog, Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom as a personal answer to the debaucheries of politics which placed on my doorstep a casino.  The manner for which Issue 3 passed broke my trust in elected office when the voice of voters was ignored so many times and the Fraternal Order of Police came out in favor of casino gambling.  The method of election approval was the same process that school, fire and police levies all were passed and were rooted back to a basic premise among politicians from Washington, Columbus to Butler County—my own people.  They will impose themselves upon anybody, anywhere to get their hands on more tax revenue.  Essentially, casinos are just new forms of taxation designed to extract wealth from people and put the money into the pockets of public employee unions and politicians.  They are hives of scum and villainy at best and at their worst regress the human race into a primordial cess-pool of vile excrement sympathetic only to the most didactic fragilities of desire.

I am against gambling.  I don’t like Vegas, I don’t like the casinos in Lawrenceburg, I don’t like them in Michigan—I don’t like them in the Caribbean or anywhere in the world.  I don’t like the cheesy shows, I don’t like the stupid color schemes of the typical décor, and I don’t like the employees.  They all have an emptiness to them that is ever-present—as though their minds are turned off.  I don’t like the arrangement of the neon lights, the bulletin boards, or the way the announcers sound.  The food is often good because the casinos use it as a trap to pull people into their maniacal temple of social regression, no different from a trapper might bait a steel cage with delectable food for an unsuspecting animal.  Casinos are parasites to the human condition and they only feed the power and influence of state-run authority by feeding public officials—including police, firefighters and teachers—with more tax money stolen from property owners.  The only difference in this tax is that it is voluntary.  Casinos lure people into their traps with the promise of gain, and send them away back into the world in most cases poorer.  For the few who win, they are taxed on their winnings, and it is there where the taxation is deceptive.  The victor of the money doesn’t mind paying the tax because they won it anyway, so they leave with more money than they came with.  But for the people who tossed their money into the jackpot, they did so only to serve the state and leave the casino to run on a treadmill of productivity again only to gamble their money away weeks later when they’ve accumulated enough to try again.

Down the road from my home in Liberty Township is the Miami Valley Gaming facility which was placed near the wealth and farmland of my community—to extract wealth like a parasite off my neighbors.  The politicians in the area as well as the police support the casino because it is guaranteed revenue to pay for their labor contracts without the constant pressure to get their wages approved by property owners during contentious elections.  They are willing to trade away the soul of the good city of Monroe, named after President James Monroe—a Founding Father—for easy cash and a morally depleted population.

The downward spiral of Monroe began years ago when Larry Flint opened up the Hustler of Hollywood store in Monroe next to the strip joint Bristol’s.  At that “gentleman’s club” there were frequent games of topless volleyball in the back fenced-in area along I-75.  The Christian community around Monroe hated the place, and eventually after several prostitution raids the place went out of business, and remains an empty husk to this day.  But the Hustler store has thrived and broken the will of the traditionalists of Monroe in much the same way Ohio broke the back of voters with the fifth attempt within the decade to pass Issue 3.  Now Monroe has a prison at its exit, a flea market, a Hustler store an outlet shopping center and now a giant casino called Miami Valley Gaming complete with its own race track.  Coming soon, will be more strip joints, because the stage is set, and property value will plummet.  Nobody wants to live next to a strip joint and once Liberty Center moves in at the next exit to the south, real estate investment will be of the more unsavory type—not the high-end establishments that might be found in places like Kenwood and Indian Hill.

It’s a path to decline that is assured.  Nothing good can come out of the Miami Valley Gaming facility.  The restaurant Cin City Sea and Steak along with the supposed dedication to Ohio called  the 1803 Bar are designed to pull in levy supporter types ignorant to the ways of the word with their heads so far in the clouds that they stop by for a quick drink with other adults between running their kids to soccer games so they can earn that “coveted” sports scholarship and learn “teamwork.”  The trusted name of Jim Labarbara, the “music professor” is there to pull in the minds of Butler and Warren County wealth with a blast from the past so that they will connect him to the trust built-in their minds from his years on the radio.  Once that trust is earned, their pockets empty into the mouths of a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing.

Most reading this will assume that I’m a Bible thumping Sunday puritan that believes that the sins at the casino will bring everlasting damnation to my community.  They would be wrong.  My hatred of casinos is much deeper than that.  I hate the way that casinos pander to people’s weaknesses—attributes that I want to see fixed among human beings, and casinos take people the other way.  The Miami Valley Gaming facility is designed to do one thing—and that is to empty the pockets of the productive and pour that money into the parasites of public service and make the owners wealthy by pandering to both groups.  A casino does not produce wealth, it simply extracts it.  There is no product at a casino, only a chance to win something for a small investment.  There are no inventions being made there, there is no thought—in fact thought is discouraged.  There are games of chance and random winners to keep fools migrating to that hive of scum and villainy.

I’ve been to casinos.  I’ve watched old ladies camp out at a slot machine and dump all of their money coin after coin into them while chain-smoking packs of cigarettes.  One woman I knew once had been a Christian woman who read the Bible every day and ran her family with an expectation of purity.  Her husband took up the hobby of gambling during their middle years and ended up falling for a stripper who was only 21.  The couple divorced and the old woman lived alone for 10 years until she could collect Social Security.  At the age of 69 she took up slots in Lawrenceburg.  At 81 she was a wrinkled up wreck of a woman, her children were busy with their lives and her husband long dead after three failed marriages after their divorce left her broken emotionally as well as financially.  When I asked her what she hoped to achieve at the slot machines her answer was to hit it big—so that she could send money to her kids so they’d come and see her—or so she could fly out to see them.  She had won small jackpots of $1500 and $5000 a few times, but spent it again looking for the big one, the one that would change her life and pour six figure winnings into her pocket.    One time she hit it, she won $150,000 dollars, but by the time she paid the taxes and other associated fees it was just over $50K.  That money was consumed in plane tickets quickly and one visit from her children—the kids who could come and see her did, those who couldn’t she went to see them.  After three weeks, the money was gone and she was back at the slots trying to win more money so she could do it again.  I felt terrible for the lady.  She died a year later at 82 and six people came to her funeral—one was the floor waitress at the casino who had developed a small friendship with the old woman.  How did I know her…………she worked for me.  When I gave her a check every Friday, she took the whole thing to the casino and camped out at the slot machine for the entire weekend hoping coin after coin that she’d get one more chance to see her kids before she died.  That is what casinos are all about.  The casino ruined her marriage and after being alone for a number of years she turned to them for help, because there was nothing else—she was unable to see how the chain reaction of events migrated to her ultimate fall from grace.

In Ohio and everywhere that there are casinos the product they create is misery.  They are traps for human beings designed by crony capitalists and political alliances.  There is nothing—nothing good about them—not even the food.  Everything is a trap which leads to more scumbag behavior for which once ensnared there is no escape.  They were made legal by deceit, they operate under false pretense, and have only a parasitic characteristic as their foundation—and they bring out nothing but the worst in people of all ages and sexes.  That is what gambling in Ohio is all about.

Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals: Taking new members

My argument as to why Disney World is the happiest place on earth, and why so many people love that popular vacation destination is because of what the films, television shows, and theme parks ultimately represent—traditional American value. One of my most popular articles is about the publication of the Ayn Rand pamphlet sent to filmmakers in 1947 warning them of the communist infiltration in America at the time. Few people these days know what a battle raged in those times which was so pervasive that written works like Ayn Rand’s work was even needed. Communism was so robust that a group of Hollywood film industry professionals got together to form the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals and two of my favorite entertainment personalities of all time were in it, John Wayne and Walt Disney. Disney would continue his pursuit of the values from that alliance the rest of his life and Disney World is the living tradition of his firm commitment to the values of the MPAPAI. You can see the Ayn Rand pamphlet and the values of the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of the American Ideals at the following link. They represent my America, and if you are reading this likely your values too. If you enjoy Disney World it is likely you are one of these people. The company of Disney today has been infested by progressives, and lawyers sensitive to progressive causes. But they cannot stray too far from the formula that makes them money and that is their theme parks which are undeniable references to Disney’s commitment to the MPAPAI. Because of Disney, American has not completely lost its way and the message of the MPAPAI has not been lost.

The Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals (MPAPAI, also MPA) was an American organization of high-profile, politically conservative members of the Hollywood film industry. It was formed in 1944 for the stated purpose of defending the film industry, and the country as a whole, against what its founders claimed was communist and fascist infiltration.[1][2]

The initial, immediate purpose in forming the organization was to assemble a group of well-known show business figures willing to attest, under oath, before Congress to the supposed presence of Communists in their industry.[3] And indeed, when the House Un-American Activities Committee investigated the motion picture industry, the vast majority of “friendly witnesses” were supplied by the Alliance.[3][4][5]

Prominent members of the Alliance included Robert Arthur, Martin Berkeley, Ward Bond, Walter Brennan, Clarence Brown, Charles Coburn, Gary Cooper, Laraine Day, Cecil B. DeMille, Walt Disney, Irene Dunne, Victor Fleming, Clark Gable, Cedric Gibbons, Hedda Hopper, Leo McCarey, James Kevin McGuinness, Adolphe Menjou, George Murphy, Fred Niblo, Ayn Rand, Ronald Reagan, Ginger Rogers, Morrie Ryskind, Norman Taurog, Robert Taylor, Barbara Stanwyck, King Vidor, John Wayne, Frank Wead and Sam Wood.[3][5][6][7]

The Alliance officially disbanded in 1975.[8]

John Wayne served four one year terms as president of the Alliance starting in March, 1949.[9]

Shortly after its formation in 1944, the Alliance issued a “Statement of Principles:”

We believe in, and like, the American way of life: the liberty and freedom which generations before us have fought to create and preserve; the freedom to speak, to think, to live, to worship, to work, and to govern ourselves as individuals, as free men; the right to succeed or fail as free men, according to the measure of our ability and our strength.

Believing in these things, we find ourselves in sharp revolt against a rising tide of communism, fascism, and kindred beliefs, that seek by subversive means to undermine and change this way of life; groups that have forfeited their right to exist in this country of ours, because they seek to achieve their change by means other than the vested procedure of the ballot and to deny the right of the majority opinion of the people to rule.

In our special field of motion pictures, we resent the growing impression that this industry is made of, and dominated by, Communists, radicals, and crackpots. We believe that we represent the vast majority of the people who serve this great medium of expression. But unfortunately it has been an unorganized majority. This has been almost inevitable. The very love of freedom, of the rights of the individual, make this great majority reluctant to organize. But now we must, or we shall meanly lose “the last, best hope on earth.”

As Americans, we have no new plan to offer. We want no new plan, we want only to defend against its enemies that which is our priceless heritage; that freedom which has given man, in this country, the fullest life and the richest expression the world has ever known; that system which, in the present emergency, has fathered an effort that, more than any other single factor, will make possible the winning of this war.

As members of the motion-picture industry, we must face and accept an especial responsibility. Motion pictures are inescapably one of the world’s greatest forces for influencing public thought and opinion, both at home and abroad. In this fact lies a solemn obligation. We refuse to permit the effort of Communist, Fascist, and other totalitarian-minded groups to pervert this powerful medium into an instrument for the dissemination of un-American ideas and beliefs. We pledge ourselves to fight, with every means at our organized command, any effort of any group or individual, to divert the loyalty of the screen from the free America that give it birth. And to dedicate our work, in the fullest possible measure, to the presentation of the American scene, its standards and its freedoms, its beliefs and its ideals, as we know them and believe in them.[2]

In 1947, Ayn Rand wrote a pamphlet for the Alliance, entitled Screen Guide for Americans, based on her personal impressions of the American film industry. It read, in excerpt:

The purpose of the Communists in Hollywood is not the production of political movies openly advocating Communism. Their purpose is to corrupt our moral premises by corrupting non-political movies — by introducing small, casual bits of propaganda into innocent stories — thus making people absorb the basic principles of Collectivism by indirection and implication.

The principle of free speech requires that we do not use police force to forbid the Communists the expression of their ideas — which means that we do not pass laws forbidding them to speak. But the principle of free speech does not require that we furnish the Communists with the means to preach their ideas, and does not imply that we owe them jobs and support to advocate our own destruction at our own expense.[10][11]

Rand cited examples of popular and critically acclaimed films that in her view contained hidden Communist or Collectivist messages that had not been recognized as such, even by conservatives. Examples included The Best Years of Our Lives (because it portrayed businessmen negatively, and suggested that bankers should give veterans collateral-free loans), and A Song to Remember (because it implied that Chopin sacrificed himself for a patriotic cause rather than devoting himself to his music).[12]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_Picture_Alliance_for_the_Preservation_of_American_Ideals

In the end communism did win. After the McCarthy hearings of which the MPAPAI fueled, the communists won the battle of public relations. Communist infiltration of American education had produced a generation of young progressives not sympathetic to the values of the MPAPAI so McCarty was cast away into irrelevancy; the MPAPAI was disbanded after the deaths of Disney and others from his generation. John Wayne who was such an important part of the MPAPAI died just a few years later, and Ayn Rand a few years after that. Ronald Reagan who was a part of the MPAPAI went on to become President of The United States and brought at least the illusion of the MPAPAI to America once again, but after 1988, the last remnants of this important group lost its political influence as progressive global unifiers like George Bush and Bill Clinton rose to power.

Now few people know what the values of the MPAPAI are. Public schools have sold socialism to three generations of American students and communism has spread into virtually every branch of government through legal case-law. Most law students who filled political offices from the time of the MPAPAI never studied the American Constitution; they instead studied case law from the Supreme Court which was a design by the communist infiltration of law schools as far back as the 1940s to slowly erode away Americans from their “Ideals.” Those lawyers have taken America toward communism in virtually every scenario for which they have endeavored through their extensive progressive educations. The only trace of the MPAPAI today is old John Wayne movies, Disney World, and the hot selling novel Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand.

The continued popularity of both John Wayne and Disney World provides a view into the true heart of America. Even with all the progressive educations which have corrupted their minds, most people still yearn for the ideals of the MPAPAI. Communism has not won the hearts and minds of America—just the policy. And that is as far as they will ever get. Disney World is not about Goofy, Mickey Mouse or Cinderella castle—it is about American value and tradition which is not at all disguised there. Disney World is a popular vacation destination because of how it makes people feel—because it is about American ideals and visitors want to be close to those ideals. Every time I think of Disney World it reminds me that communism did not get its way—that they did not win completely. It also reminds me that the good work done by the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals is still alive. And I intend to help keep it that  way.

Rusty Humphries at the Cincinnati Tea Party: Why “WINOs” are in a lot of trouble

imageI have been extraordinarily busy of late—much, much more than I care to be. My bullwhip friends from the Western Arts had of course my top priority and that occupied most of the last weekend. Then of course there are family obligations, normal career type commitments, a meeting Monday at the Elks Club for the Liberty Township Tea Party which I wrote about yesterday. Then there was the event on Tax Day out in Eastgate, the Cincinnati Tea Party rally which brought out some of the most vigilant patriots of the current liberty movement anywhere. Doc Thompson was there, Ann Becker and all her posse including Chris Littleton, Mike Wilson, Ted Stevenot and Libertarian Girl were there. Rusty Humphries flew in from his Washington Times gig representing the new Atlas Shrugged movie. My friend Matt Clark came down from Ann Arbor to do a live podcast from the event. There were many, many more names—all of them very good—and all of them fighting hard every day for what’s right by way of the American Constitution—but my time was occupied primarily by those names mentioned. To do the event justice, there is no way I can cover everything in a single article, so I’ll start with the Rusty Humphries speech, which can be seen below—and embodied the tone of the entire evening magnificently.

Rusty also did an interview with Matt Clark who was set up outside the main conference hall. The interview was every bit as entertaining as would be expected by Humphries who has a nationally syndicated radio show. He also writes for the Washington Times, and is even acting in the new Atlas Shrugged Part III movie. Watching he and Matt work together was like watching the present and future aligned. Matt Clark certainly has in his future a syndicated talk show as he shares with Humphries the ability to use social media to blast his message to the world. The only difference is that Humphries has been doing it longer, and already went through the kind of criticisms that Matt Clark often inflicts upon himself constantly looking for broadcast perfection.

All evening there was a constant steam of interviews which went through Matt Clark’s WAAM broadcast table, most of which will be featured over the next couple of days. One of the funniest comments made over the course of the evening was Humphries reference to Hillary Clinton. During his speech he talked about the various RINOs in politics, people like John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, any of the Bush brothers, etc. RINO of course means “Republican in Name Only,” which is to say that those so-called Republicans have been terrible at preserving conservative ideals. They’ve been more interested in compromising with people who want to fundamentally change American life, and have done a great disservice to their nation. This is when Humphries said that Hillary was a “WINO,” a “Wife in Name Only.” That drew quite a laugh and it stuck with me throughout the night.

The “WINO” comment was funny because most people feel that Bill and Hillary Clinton have an open relationship where they have simply pulled a ruse on the American public for more than three decades of scandalous crusade. Their mission as Marxist loving young college students was to deliver America to the doorsteps of the Socialist International controlled United Nations and they pretended to be like every day Americans to concoct the ruse. Part of that deceit was to pretend that they are a traditional married, husband and wife–while at the same time advancing LGBT agenda points and a gradual erosion of American sovereignty to the chaos of the world cesspool. Does anybody honestly feel that Hillary would not do anything to become elected into an office, even if it meant committing herself to a loveless marriage in the typical European style of power arrangement? I don’t doubt it for a moment, and it is likely that she cannot even relate to a typical American romantic comedy because she does not have the kind of feelings in her life associated with “love,” “passion,” or “sexual longing,” as her primary motives appear to be exclusively—for her entire life—committed to social reform built on a progressive reference established by Marxism—which she learned in college.

It was good to hear Humphries say what virtually everyone was thinking—it was therapeutic and was the primary reason that most of the hundreds and hundreds of people came to the Cincinnati Tea Party Rally on a Tuesday night. They needed relief from the insanity of a world spinning out-of-control and into perpetual progressive madness. The people present were awake and all aware of the follies around them—and having so many people in such a state gives hope that the world will not degrade into a bottomless pit from which it will never return.

Matt bought a hamburger for me once the event was over at the bar. We barely placed our order before the kitchen closed as the rally went late into the evening. Humphries had already left as many others were leaving, but Matt and I hadn’t had any food all day, so a well-earned hamburger was just the thing. Kelly Kohls and some of her party joined us in the bar for a bit as the waiter brought us our food. Kelly laughed when she saw the incredible size of my hamburger, complete with everything on it, onions hanging over the edge with huge leaves of lettuce, largely cut tomatoes and a tremendously huge bun sprinkled with sesame seeds. Her son happened to be sitting next to me and I took his mother’s comments and expanded on it by saying that this was an example of American food. “You wouldn’t get a hamburger like that in France, or Spain, or Italy. In those countries they give you some silly little noodles and some crappy vegetables off on the side of the plate—and they consider it art. Their food is like their crappy little Fiat cars, their bad breath, terrible economies, and wimpy sports. Here in America, like this hamburger,” which I had to put all my weight on to smash together to fit into my mouth, “we like V-8 engines, fast cars, violent sports, guns and women in thongs.” At that point Kelly called me a few names and took her 15-year-old son away from my bad influence. I told her that her son was a guy, and that he needed to hear those kinds of things. She laughed and hit me in the shoulder and walked off. I didn’t blame her, after all she is running for a Senate seat, and she needed to maintain her respectability in the eyes of the masses. But I don’t. Hamburgers, fast cars, rock music, football and chicks with thongs are the kinds of things I think of when I think of America—and specifically freedom. So after the evening festivities the gigantic hamburger from the hotel bar complete with Coors beer was the perfect night-cap to a busy day.

Much of what was discussed at the Cincinnati Tea Party could be summed up into not apologizing for what Americans are, but rather, being proud of it. It is clearly time to stop feeling sorry for every other country on earth and to make ourselves less just to make other countries feel equal. I know I’m done with such things, and according to Matt, Doc, Rusty, Ann, and all the others, they are too. The biggest difference between those at the Tax Day Rally and everyone outside of that room is that the attendees have arrived first to a conclusion that is inevitable—that progressives like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and many others, have taken America to a bad place, and people don’t like it. My friends are the first to express that displeasure—and soon, so will the rest of the nation. imageThe old WINO tricks won’t work this time, as an $18 trillion-dollar deficit looms over the richest nation in the world—caused by progressive mismanagement of American resources. And once the rest of society gets to the level of frustration that the people attending the Cincinnati Tea Party rally displayed on April 15th, 2014 in Eastgate, Ohio—WINO’s like Hillary will be in a whole lot of trouble—and I’ll celebrate with an even bigger hamburger. The secret to American excess is not that The United States consumes too many natural resources, but that it has produced so much—because of capitalism. If more nations throughout the world adopted capitalism over socialism, they’d discover excesses of their own and would be a whole lot less miserable.

The Whip Artistry Studio: A tribute to the beginning of cinema and the Wild West

I wrote yesterday about Richard Best and his Black Lightning Wild West Show.  But the location where we shot the video displayed in that article deserves its own mention, The Whip Artistry Studio of Gery Deer in Jamestown, Ohio is a one of the kind temple dedicated to the art and preservation of the bullwhip.  Gery is currently a freelance television producer and writer in Dayton, but his heart centers on the preservation of Western Arts—particularly the bullwhip.  Like me, he has worked with whips most of his life, and traveled the world providing shows.  Gery and his wife Barb have been on major television shows and have been personally endorsed by “A” list celebrities and stuntmen.  Gery’s Whip Artistry Studio is a museum of old westerns, autographs from Halle Berry, Antonio Banderas and many others, and a tribute to the golden age of cinema.  Gery’s whip holstering systems were used in a film done by The Rock called The Rundown and it was because of that film that Gery specially designed my Cliffhanger quick drawl holster which I wear every day.  My bullwhip holster is the only one of its kind and was made by Gery specifically for my use.

It is sometimes impossible when you know such people to revere them properly for what they are.  I have known Gery for a long time, and we have so many things in common that I don’t often consider how unusual his life and his studio are.  But in a world obsessed with preserving every species of animal that is on the brink of extinction, Gery is fighting to keep alive something that many more progressive modernists hope to force into distant memory, the American cowboy.

As unlikely as it is, Gery’s Jamestown, Ohio studio is all that stands between extinction and advancement of the kind of America that was so beloved by viewers of old Republic Saturday morning matinees, and wonderful silent films like Don Q, Son of Zorro.  As many Hollywood producers these days bulk at such things, it was George Lucas who adopted these very Republic serials and made Star Wars, and Indiana Jones.  Students at Gery’s studios want to learn to crack a whip like Indiana Jones, because those films inspired them.

Gery and I share a great reverence for Douglas Fairbanks, particularly the old film Son of Zorro.  Of course we’ve always loved Indiana Jones, but that character never went to the whip handlers of old, like Douglas Fairbanks, Lash LaRue, and all the Republic Serials—especially another favorite of mine, Zorro’s Fighting Legion.  When I wrote my book The Symposium of Justice I dedicated it to that old Republic serial including naming the restaurant Fletcher Finnegan worked at, “Republics.”

My current love of Star Wars is because Lucas shot those films in the way of those old serials—and that just isn’t done by any other film studio.  And all that harkens back to Douglas Fairbanks and his whip tricks from Don Q, Son of Zorro.  Gery Deer’s whip studio in Jamestown, Ohio is really the last gasp of air holding on to that past attempting to preserve it.  Gery and I both came into our love of bullwhips the same way but he choose to actually move into show business.  At age 46 I have lived my life much the way Don Diego did in Zorro’s Fighting Legion, only I haven’t pretended to be foppish to save my family and reputation from villains.  Gery has taken a non-violent approach to the art, where I’m all about the violence.  Even when I was writing The Symposium of Justice, I didn’t feel comfortable writing about the bullwhip heavy action scenes if I had not done all the stunts in real life to confirm their viability.  And with stories like that, I have never felt comfortable writing about characters like Fletcher Finnegan (Cliffhanger) from behind an author’s stories.  I always felt a responsibility to actually be those characters in real life, otherwise the task was hypocritical.  In that regard, I am a lot more political than Gery.  Gery has made his living often with a whip, as I have not.  But I have used mine to confirm the stunts of Don Q, so that I could write about them knowing what was possible and what wasn’t and what really went on in the life of Zorro in a quest to fight evil.

But in a confusing world where every other influence is competing for attention, that old past ushered in by Douglas Fairbanks is most alive in Jamestown, Ohio, and I love it every time I get to visit.  It is like a farmer returning to his land after plowing a field and smelling the fresh soil, or an artist during a late night epiphany—Gery Deer’s The Whip Artistry Studio is grounding to the roots of cinema, justice, and the genuine pursuit of goodness triumphing over evil.   I never get tired of visiting, and I suspect that I never will.
