The First Day of Summer at Premier Shooting: A nice way to celebrate what America is all about

I can’t say enough about Premier Shooting and Training Center which is in West Chester, Ohio. Every time I go there I feel renewed it is one of those places that has a spirit about it that is extremely positive. It’s a unique creation of American philosophy that does not shy away from their positive impact into the local community. They make West Chester so much better in what they do which is train people not only in proper firearms conduct, but general self-defense with various martial art forms. They are a really neat operation. Of course I’ve been to a lot of gun ranges over the years, but Premier is absolutely the best.

I was taking a VIP there the other day and it just happened to be the first day of summer and Premier was giving out free water bottles with the Premier logo on them and hot dogs. In addition to a really nice gun range that is wonderfully well ventilated and training classrooms that are equal to any college campus, they have a cafeteria overlooking their fishing lake which is very well stocked. So after doing a little shooting, they welcomed us to some hot dogs as a way to celebrate the arrival of summer which I thought was a very nice touch. Me and this VIP might have otherwise have gone to Jags for lunch, but the hot dogs were good enough given the atmosphere.

I’ve been to Premier before but recently since acquiring a gun that I had been thinking about for a very long time I have been going regularly to shoot it. Most of my shooting these days has been in my private range in my home where I shoot Cowboy Fast Draw. While that is fun, and still constitutes most of my shooting activity, the bullets are wax and not the same kind of experience as shooting my .50 AE Desert Eagle. To shoot that, you really need a range like they have at Premier. On this particular day I brought along my .500 Magnum, so we were shooting some very big ammunition for which the Premier ventilation system really showed its use. There was no lingering smoke from those big guns hanging around, it was all scooped up leaving a very pleasant environment to shoot in which is what they do best at Premier.

When I shoot in my garage with Cowboy Fast Draw, my wife loves the smell. The gunsmoke is part of the appeal for her. I leave the garage door closed when I shoot there so that the sounds don’t wake up the neighborhood. It’s not uncommon for me to shoot really early in the morning or late at night. But as good as the smoke smells it’s not good to breathe. When I’m done I usually open the garage door to let the smoke out and get the ventilation moving again. But with that type of shooting the only real explosive element is the 209 shotgun primers which are used as the propellent for the wax bullets. We’re only talking about a 7 grain bullet with about 600 FPS velocity at the barrel. You always need to use proper gun safety but these are not the types of bullets that are killing anyone. They can sting, but are perfectly safe to use in a sport like Cowboy Fast Draw. They are effective up to about 15 feet, although we compete with them up to 21 feet. But firing the .50 AE is a different matter, it typically has a 300 grain bullet with muzzle velocity of 1475 FPS and a whopping 1449 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. It really is a remarkable cartridge and what I consider an engineering marvel, to be able to contain all that power into a relatively small gun. The Desert Eagle is not a small gun by any means, but for the power output that it is utilizing, it is a real engineering feat to have such a thing work so well under such violent conditions. The smoke that is left behind if you are shooting indoors can be a lot, but at Premier, you don’t even notice it. Their ventilation system picks it all right up, it’s very impressive all its own.

Shooting for me is a daily occurrence so it’s very disingenuous to listen to people who don’t understand the sport of shooting to cry out against the 2nd Amendment. It really gets on my nerves because guns in America are not a brutal thing, they are a deeply philosophical element to the freest country on earth. Because without all the guns that we have, and places like Premier which helps take the gun from a thought to a practice, the Constitution would have been eroded away a long time ago. The only thing that keeps the three branches of government working properly, in that one doesn’t try to take over the others is the very defined understanding that the people of the nation can at anytime take back their country from the grips of corruption, should they choose to. That gives weight behind our police to do their jobs in defending our laws because if that doesn’t work, an armed society is there is a backstop. I view gun ownership as an essential American right that every household should participate in. But that right comes with responsibility and places like Premier Shooting do a fantastic job of defining that balance. The atmosphere of the place is very family oriented and patriotic. It’s the kind of place that certainly charges me up whenever I step into their doors and by the time I leave I’m good for a few days. My new Desert Eagle gives me a reason to go there more now than I did in the past and that has greatly enhanced my life.

Smaller caliber guns really don’t excite me, because I do so much shooting with the wax bullets. Working on my accuracy just on paper targets wasn’t a big attraction for me prior to the Desert Eagle. My big .500 Smith & Wesson Magnum was just too expensive, ammunition is over $3 a shot, so shooting it regularly isn’t practical. It wasn’t until this Desert Eagle for me that the slightly over $1 per shot made visits to Premier Shooting a viable option for my personal lifestyle. If I’m going to shoot a gun, I like it to be a big one because that’s kind of the point. The ballistic power so self-contained is amazing to me and is part of the joy. But to enjoy it I need a good range and that is where Premier comes in. They are the best certainly in Cincinnati and compared to most places in the country. Specifically, to West Chester, they are a great asset to a community that already had it all. I’m glad they are there. When I want to have such an experience with a VIP and we don’t feel like spending a whole half of a day playing golf or some similar activity, a half hour on a shooting lane at Premier is just the right thing. We were in and out and back to our professional tasks within the hour, and that included enjoying a hot dog by the fishing lake—and that is what makes shooting in America such a special thing, and Premier does it better than anybody.

The Miracle of Capitalism: Why every country should try to be like the United States

The solution to helping others in the world is not to keep throwing money at them, or in letting them live in the United States as immigrants—its to help them make their own countries better than they are now by exporting American ideas that could help them become better. Let me tell those people a little story about life near my house this week so that they can understand why capitalism is such a wonderful thing and why they should adopt it in their own lives for the great improvements that it could bring them. In telling this story I have to start with the gun shop at the end of my street, Right 2 Arms which is located on Rt 4 in Liberty Township, Ohio that I use often, especially when I make a new gun purchase because everything about capitalism starts and ends with gun possession. It is the reminder to the government that they should tamper with the American economy as little as possible and to let the free market determine successes and failures and it is what made for a pretty remarkable day that I had recently.

I had hit one of those milestones in my life where it justified the purchase of a gun I’ve wanted for a very long time, a .50AE Desert Eagle from Magnum Research. I first decided I wanted it way back in 1988 when I was a newly married 19-year-old, and the guns have only gotten better over the years. It was something I have wanted for a whole bunch of reasons, manly the technical value of it. I’m looking for a good concealed carry gun that can deal with the unique challenges of our modern age and for me it’s just the right thing, a seven shot semi-automatic pistol that shoots like a high-powered rifle within the tight confines of a pistol frame. Why would I ever need such a thing? Well, thugs, goons, radicals and terrorists these days wear body armor and should there come a circumstance, having the ability to neutralize them is what would be the strategic objective. So when it came time to buy it, I went to the gun store at the end of my street and purchased the .50AE Desert Eagle to add to my assets.

But that wasn’t all I needed to do that day. I additionally had three trees that I needed to cut out of my yard and I had a major brake job that was pressing me on an older vehicle we have. The 12-year-old Town and Country has been a workhorse in our family since we bought it new, so I’ve kept it running nicely all that time with occasional repairs. But my dilemma was that I was concerned that the new rotors I needed to fix the brakes were just too old to be on the shelf at the O’Reilly auto parts store I go to often across from the great Elk’s Run Golf course. So after I bought my new Desert Eagle, I swung by to see if the O’Reilly guys could track down some new rotors for me to put on that old van.

Like gun stores one of my favorite places are auto parts stores. One thing about American culture that is unique in the world is their personal automobiles. The ability to own two or three vehicles per household is unique in the world and are directly attached to our insistence on personal freedom. If firearms keep politicians honest in America cars give us the freedom to use our time for whatever use we choose. We can literally go anywhere, any time of day any time we want and that is a big deal that is not common elsewhere in the world. So to have auto stores so common in the United States is a real treat because that’s how we keep our vehicles running and I love going down the aisles and looking at all the different products intended for that purpose. I go to an auto store about twice a month, I love the way they smell, I love the colors, and I like talking to the people working there who know things about cars. We always have a car in our family that needs an oil change, spark plugs replaced, or fluids topped off, and I enjoy doing the work. But I had no hope that O’Reilly’s would have the rotors I needed on the shelf in their inventory.

But guess what, I inquired about the rotors and the clerk went to his computer to check the status and I was quite shocked to find that O’Reilly’s had them. So I bought two for $40 each and left amazed that I was going to be able to get that brake job done that day instead of having to wait for an order to come in. I continue to be surprised that O’Reilly’s most always has the things I need for auto repairs—even items that given the number of different cars on the road, they seem to always have for both new and older models. The inventory control to always have that type of stock is amazing, and you would only find it in a capitalist country that has a lot of wealth to justify the personal investment by the store itself. I can’t imagine there are many Town and Country cars left that need major brake jobs as most of them are headed for the scrap heap now—not being rebuilt from the suspension outward. Yet they had them proudly on the shelf when I needed them, and it amazed me.

However, I wasn’t done for the day. The last time I used my Huskvarna 455 Rancher chainsaw was during the previous fall when I did some tree work. After I put it away that day I knew the chain was dull so the next time I used it I’d need a new chain. My philosophy on these types of tools is that I like big and mean so that they have all the force needed and then some for whatever I’m doing. My Desert Eagle is part of that philosophy. Most of the time you’d never need a semi-automatic .50 caliber magnum bullet to stop a problem, but if you do need it, it’s there. That’s the same philosophy behind my Huskvarna 455 Rancher chainsaw with a 20-inch blade. When I first bought it most everyone said that it was too big to work with, which I disagreed completely. It’s big and known to be a bit of a beast. My wife has been after me to cut out a tree stump of an old ash tree that was on our property which fell victim to the Ash Bore insects that killed it a few years ago. It was a big mature tree so it had a large stump. Just big enough for my big chainsaw with a 20-inch blade. To do that type of job, you really need a sharp chain because you have to keep the saw horizontal without hitting the ground while making the cut so once you get started you don’t want to pull out.

I literally pulled out of the parking lot of O’Reilly’s and drove a few hundred yards down Rt 4 to Tractor Supply which is another store I love going to for similar reasons as the auto stores. That’s where I was able to get everything I needed for my chainsaw job. Of course, Tractor Supply had everything I needed as they have a nice Huskvarna chainsaw section and all my blades where there along with the oil I needed. For that big chainsaw I need the 20” 72 drive chains which are the largest they carried, but I found a two pack for about $37. I was able to get home and do all my jobs within about three hours of buying all that and I still had time to enjoy my evening. Would you believe that everything I described was within one mile of each other, including the gun purchase?

Part of being a wealthy country means that there are options like this near most of our homes, and the things I described are more specialized than the average types of things that might be needed typically on a Saturday afternoon. That is the magic of capitalism—those things were all there for me when I needed them because of the free market system and because I didn’t have to waste a lot of time looking for all those items, it made my time much more productive which is always the name of the game. If my time is not wasted, it provides more opportunities for me to make money so that I can do more things like buy guns, fix cars and do landscaping in my yard. Most places around the world can’t do one of those things, let alone all three in the same day and still have time to binge watch a show on Netflix later that night. Life in America is the best and other countries would do well to adopt what we do here for their own benefit, and that all starts with embracing capitalism. To really improve the lives of people around the world, capitalism is the magic trick they all need to learn. Its something we take for granted in America because we are used to getting what we want when we want it, but on days like I have described I realize just how special all those abilities are. And I’d like to see that for everyone.

How the NRA and America are One in the Same: Understanding what defends values and why its important

There is a very philosophic reason for supporting the NRA if one wishes to protect the basic foundations that founded the United States of America. Of course, those who want to change the American idea into something else are against the NRA and things really do play out along those lines. People would like to believe that there is some waiver room there, room to have varying opinions, but basically if someone or a group of people are working against the 2nd Amendment, they are working against the political philosophy of America—and essentially against me and you personally. To that effect, I have never been prouder to be an NRA member. Over the last few weeks after the latest gun free zone shooting I have heard the NRA being bashed by just about everyone but the members themselves and that has only solidified my resolve on this matter. I am the NRA. You are the NRA. We are the people who make the NRA what it is—a lobby group representing our interests and when people talk about abolishing it, they are talking about abolishing us.

We are told that the two things we are not supposed to talk about are politics and religion—so to allow for the non-conflict type of discussion that should go on between people of different backgrounds and beliefs. The only problem with that are that both are part of the basic philosophy epistemology of our culture—and if those basic foundations aren’t agreed on, there really can’t be a society at all. Without a foundational philosophy, no society can hope to preserve themselves into the future. Essentially a country is just an organized group of people who have decided to live a certain way under constitutional foundations. Anyone who wants to change those basic foundations is looking to overthrow the nation as it was. And that is why it became popular to suggest that when speaking with other people that we don’t talk about politics or religion—because both provide the foundations for which nations are built.

Politics is the study of the principles governing the proper organization of society, it is based on ethics, the study of the proper values to guide man’s choices and actions. Politics and ethics have been fundamental branches of philosophy from the beginning. Religion of course is typically associated with the type of ethics a society uses to flourish. With these things stripped away from society mankind has nothing to hold their values to, which is precisely why we can say that we live in a time where values are stripped from us and people are functioning from a rootless existence. The people of today with all their problems were made that way because the essential foundations of philosophy for which they would otherwise function have been removed from them and they are left empty and open to whatever tyrant of activism might come along to sweep them off their feet.

And we’ve seen the worst of these people in the days after Donald Trump was elected president. If there was anything that really was wonderful about his election it was that these types of people who have been seeking to reshape American foundational philosophy were rooted out. ANTIFA comes to mind with their violent protests in our city streets and the lunatic feminists who proposed very violent actions against our government yet do not expect to see the wrath of justice thrown back at them—because they understand that they are hiding behind the destruction of America’s basic foundational premise. This is also why the FBI expects to get away with serious crimes they committed against the Trump transition team and even in tampering in an American election—then trying to blame the Russians. These criminals know that a vast majority of the people within America these days have been stripped of their basic philosophies of goodness, righteousness, and valor—and that they are naked and afraid waiting for the gods of institutionalism to shape their opinions to the flavor of the day—rootless into history or any kind of sense.

Philosophy is the science that studies the fundamental aspects of the nature of existence. The task of philosophy is to provide people with a comprehensive view of life. When that comprehensive view is disrupted or even reshaped into something destructive—such as what we see from the ANTIFA members where they are exactly what they declare themselves not to be—anti-fascists fighting for the right to be fascists, then the forces behind that thought corruption can sell any contrary idea to the public and not expect to be questioned back. We live in an age where young people have been taught that nobody should judge their actions, and once they are adults they believe they can conduct their lives in this fashion. This is largely how Hillary Clinton’s campaign expected to hide her many crimes, and she succeeded largely by those who call themselves Democrats, because their foundational philosophies have been stripped away from them to the point where they can no longer make value judgments about anything. They can talk about their favorite music, what they are watching on Netflix, or what the latest fashions are at Hot Topic, but they can’t tell you what they think of Hillary Clinton other than they want to see the first woman president sitting in the White House. Since so many people have been taught not to judge others, it allows criminals like the Clintons to roam through our political stratosphere without consequence for their power play politics.

The political left has been in the practice of deforming human beings essentially since their political philosophy shaped largely by Immanuel Kant and the peripherals took to the global stage challenging the Aristotelian foundations of Adam Smith, Thomas Paine, and John Locke. To beat those philosophies which caused people to create their own country in North America away from the European failures, the political left had to introduce decades of philosophic deformity to the basic foundations of American ideas to nonviolently introduce the type of political suppression which would advance the political left and stunt the growth of the political right. Leftists did this essentially by taking over the education institutions and seeking quite openly to remold the American youth from their very foundations so that they could pull off the destruction of America without any military assault or mass protest in the streets—but home by home and over a long period of time.

But, those forces of insurrection ran into the membership of the NRA and nobody who has supported that Second Amendment group has budged at all for well over 100 years. The NRA was founded in 1871 and has maintained a firm grounding into the type of roots that founded our country and the members which have supported that cause have been very successful in preventing the type of deformation of our basic philosophy which the political left has been so aggressive in perpetuating. The secret to the success of the political left in how they essentially lobotomize people in what they know has been the threat of force to bring harm to people who think differently than they do. Yet the essence of the Second Amendment is to provide protections from that very threat. Free people armed to defend themselves do not have to fear having their basic philosophic foundations robbed from them by force—and that has really been all that’s kept America going all these years. Its been those 5 million NRA supporters and the 10 to 20 million others who support the NRA but haven’t yet sent a check to the organization to lobby on their behalf. We become members so that the NRA will work on our behalf to prevent violence. Because if there isn’t an NRA and the political left comes to attempt to remove reason from our minds—what are we supposed to do—just sit there and let them do it? Of course not.

Guns Are What Make America Great: Coming to terms with reality

In the wake of the mass shooting in South Florida which occurred in February of 2018 we need to make some basic things clear as a foundational argument. I agree, we should change gun laws so that we don’t have more violence in our schools by disturbed people. But the solution isn’t feel good gun laws which provide a false security blanket over the eyes of our most liberal American citizens who are suffering from their own psychosis indicated by their political affiliation. Their view is similar to a child pulling their bed covers over their eyes to avoid being eaten by a monster that lives under their bed. If the monster wants to eat children, a flimsy layer of covers won’t stop the violence from happening. It only covers the eyes of the victim from the possibility, and that is all liberals want to do in the wake of gun violence. They want to cover their eyes to the real problem and hope that it doesn’t happen again. This is a typical liberal approach to just about everything and it stands against the basic nature of what America is all about.

America is a lot of things, it’s a nation of immigrants, it’s a nation of capitalism and private property. There is a big reason that Siberia takes up approximately 10% of the earth’s landmass yet it as the economic development of a kid’s lemonade stand whereas the vast expanses of land in America known as the West has at least a McDonald’s every thirty miles in every direction—and that is because of private property ownership and incentives which are fundamentally protected by personal firearm possession—a decentralized element which allows such vast expanses of land to be developed for the enterprises of human thought. No matter where you go and what you do in America it is the right to personal firearms which defines our nation under a common thread of philosophy. We are a nation built on guns and of course America’s enemies understand that. If they want gun control, they essentially want to change the nature of America from what it is to what it isn’t.

When you visit England, what do you think of as their cultural heritage—tea? Ships? Monarchy? What about Germany—what do you think about in regard to their culture, beer, pretzels, Hitler? Japan—samurai swords and sushi? How about Spain, bullfights and cheesy men who want to sleep with our wives? Every nation has their thing which defines their culture, and in America it is the gun. Guns are what binds all Americans together, young and old, rich and poor, man and woman, black and white—no matter who, what, where, and how, guns are what define our nation and always have from the very beginning of revolution to the westward expansion. Guns made our nation and to this very day are important parts of our culture.

It was my wife’s birthday over the weekend and we went to LaRosa’s by our home to celebrate it. It was a Saturday night and we were talking about militarizing public schools with metal detectors and military personnel to prevent school shootings in the future. I explained to my family that within LaRosa’s that night there was a crowded dining room and among the occupants I estimated that there were at least five to six concealed carry holders there. If a terrorist of some kind were to barge in and try to shoot the place up, they would be engaged promptly by the concealed carry holders. Some people may be injured, but the aggressor would not have his way with the public. He would be shot dead, maybe worse. And the same could be said of every place containing people all across the country. The reason there is peace and stability in America with so much money floating around in a free society is because so many people are carrying guns, bad guys never know who is or isn’t and it forces them to behave themselves.

Liberal people do not understand human nature, it is part of their personal psychosis which has contributed to their intellectual deficiency leading to their liberal attributes to begin with. I can sympathize that they are too soft natured to want to handle a gun, or that they have hope that humanity can be trained away from violence and the desire to take what other people have. I can also see how they might be seduced by the work of Karl Marx and to just make everyone equal, give all the private property to the State and eradicate guns from our lives so that we can live in a utopia. Being people who aren’t prepared to deal with reality, such things may seem appealing. But history says what you get is not a great world of philosophic understanding, you essentially get Siberia, a vast wilderness of little economic activity because nobody really owns anything and there is nothing to protect if they did. Earth first advocates and environmentalists might find that idea appealing too, because they see the human race as inferior to planet earth and would like to see people removed from climate influence. Again, we aren’t dealing with irrational people when we talk about the political left. They are people often suffering from various degrees of mental illness so they aren’t prepared to talk about guns—only that they think civilization should not have them.

But look at the human condition and the way its evolved. Look at the toy aisle in Wal-Mart or Target where superhero action figures occupy one entire section, and each action figure has some kind of gun so that kids can go home and play with them. Go another aisle over and there are Lego sets with the same kind of message. Go another aisle over again and there are the Nerf guns which allow kids to shoot at each other harmlessly—for the sport of it. Go to the video game section and you’ll see that most of the top-selling games are first person shooters like Battlefront, Call of Duty and Doom—where guns are the feature attraction of the whole experience. Then go to the television section and see what they are playing on the demo screens—action movies filled with guns. Americans love guns—they love them deeply. Guns are so much a part of American culture that many don’t realize just how much. And that’s not going to change. We aren’t going to see a liberal push away from guns, I think the next generation because of their video game exposure and other modes of entertainment will be more pro-gun than ever. What they lack is parental guidance, which makes them more dangerous, but the love of guns is still there—probably stronger than ever.

I went to GameStop to do a little shopping for some fun stuff and I was met at the counter by a really scary looking young lady covered in tattoos and body piercings. She had blue hair and looked like she was the lead singer of a punk rock band. But I had a question about the release date of the new game coming out this fall called Red Dead Redemption 2, which is a western video game. You might recall that I thought Red Dead Redemption way back in 2010 was the best western I had ever been exposed to, so I am looking forward to the sequel. Well, this girl became very emotional with excitement. She wouldn’t stop talking about how excited she was to finally play this new game which had been delayed for three years, and was finally going to hit the shelves in just a few months. The game is all about shooting other players, and has typical western themes and obviously to this clerk, she was very excited about it. If the game was all about bagging groceries do you think she’d be so excited? Of course not.

I lived a normal childhood, one that is very close to what we watch at the end of every year with A Christmas Story. The right of passage back then as it still should be was that we get a toy gun from our fathers and grandfathers before we are five. When we are six to eight, we get our first Red Ryder BB gun. They sell those at Wal-Mart too, not because the retailer is psycho about guns, but because that’s what customers want. They even come in a pink version for girls these days because getting your first gun for a kid is a big step into adulthood. By the time kids are 12 to 16 they should get their first 22 rifle. And of course, the initiation into adulthood is that a 21-year-old can purchase an AR-15, a Glock, or even their first 12 gage shotgun. Speaking personally, it was one of the proudest days of my life when I bought my Smith & Wesson .500 Magnum. I don’t go out and shoot people up with it, in fact it never crosses my mind in daily thinking about it. But if I wanted to I could disable a car with it, and that is great to know for self-defense. Knowing that I don’t have to worry about somebody coming and taking away my private property allows my mind to think about other kinds of things which contributes mightily toward the “invisible hand” of Adam Smith’s capitalism. The right to have a gun to protect yourself from villainy is the best deterrent of those villains from taking action in the first place.

Our gun laws should be changed from being too strict to having them be a lot looser. Schools should not be gun free zones. If teachers and administrators were allowed to carry, then they wouldn’t be sitting ducks when some aggressor does show up to get revenge on former students they are having problems with. I don’t think we should have gun free zones anywhere, in any business, any school, or any government building. Guns are a tremendous part of our natural American heritage and its time we embrace that aspect of ourselves instead of letting timid liberals define our culture based on their personal insecurities. If there had been concealed carry holders at any of these school shootings over the last couple of years, or even in Vegas during that concert tragedy, there would be a lot less carnage. Likely, we wouldn’t have even witnessed the attempt because the villains would understand that their chances for glory would be greatly minimized by the concealed carry holder. The answer to gun control is to have more guns not less and to loosen up possession not to further restrict it.

As we’ve seen in the FBI just this year, we can’t trust law enforcement fully to do their jobs. That’s not going to change tomorrow, police are people just as anybody is, and if they get caught looking at dirty pictures on the internet while sitting on the side of the road trying to nail speeders, and they miss a big occurrence because of it, an apology later won’t bring back our loved ones. Courts are slow, police are slower, and the FBI is about as incompetent of a police force that I’ve ever even considered. I wouldn’t trust them with a bag of groceries, let alone the life of someone I care about. But I do trust people who obtain concealed carry permits. Why, because they have a personal incentive to protect themselves and the people around them. The same reason I trust people driving in a car coming from the opposite direction from coming over into my lane and hitting me head-on. Sure, it does happen, but not enough to keep me from driving a car. People with guns are safer to be around than people who don’t have them—and that is a unique attribute to being an American that we all share. If there is one thing that symbolizes American life, it is the gun. The gun is the secret to our success and the way to embrace that is with lesser rules, not more. That is the only way forward and the sooner everyone realizes that, the better.

Robert Cushman in the Westgate Tower: Where America was born–and the reason for separation of church and state

img_4159For my wife and I it was a bit of an overwhelming moment, only because we both love history and have a strong reverence for the Holiday of Thanksgiving in the United States. I had known that Robert Cushman who originally commissioned the Mayflower for the famous voyage to North America which of course unleashed the famous Thanksgiving Holiday that we celebrate each year unlocking the Christmas Season, but I didn’t think I’d ever get close to sitting in the cell where he was held imprisoned by the Church for spreading protestant pamphlets.  Yet, while touring the city streets of the ancient city of Canterbury, England at the Westgate Towers I found myself in a room exhibiting the shackles that were used for holding prisoners there and sure enough on the wall was the information talking about Cushman’s ordeal that led to the start of the Mayflower voyage in that very room.

img_4175A lot of people these days don’t really understand the necessity, and context of the argument between American separation of church and state because they have been free all their lives and have a shallow knowledge of history. But for Cushman who’s only ambition in life was to be a grocer on the streets of his childhood home in Kent he was a very passionate religious person who found himself in the crosshairs of the Church and their desire to be the primary vehicle through sacrament to Heaven.  Cushman naturally resented that control and wanted a more passionate relationship with God directly.  So the Church had him thrown in jail and as he sat in the cell at Westgate his young mind set him on a life course that would usher in the first pilgrims into the New World and start the concept of America.img_4161

In a lot of ways, the birth of the United States happened right in that spot in Westgate so it was a little overwhelming. The role that Canterbury played was phenomenal—it was a town that featured at least two major earthwork mounds that are credited to the pre-Roman period, but I personally think are even thousands of years older—likely the same type of people who inhabited the Stonehenge area over 100 miles to the west.  Both St Augustine’s Abby and a gigantic mound the size of the Miamisburg Mound in Ohio sit among the ruins of the great Roman city that set Canterbury on its start.  But then the Romans pulled out a few 400 years later and in came the Anglo Saxons from Germany and elsewhere.  But William the Conqueror from the lineage of the Viking Rollo invaded from France and dominated the countryside. When he came to Canterbury the people surrendered without a fight and thus the great Cathedrals began, first at St Augustine’s Abby, then the great Canterbury Cathedral and the region quickly became known as the Church of all England.  Fast forward another 500 years or so and Robert Cushman was wanting to apprentice as a grocer but as a young passionate man critical of the Church’s role in the issuing of the sacrament found himself locked away in that old Roman tower.img_4169

As many historians understand, the Church of England was always in a perilous relationship with the kings of England and some, especially Henry II and Henry VIII had especially contentious relationships with the power the Church held and pushed up against it. This often put the people of England in the crosshairs of politics whether they wanted to be or not just by their association with needing religion in their lives.   The church and the state were always at war with each other leaving people like Martin Luther and eventually Robert Cushman to make extreme personal sacrifices to be free of the mess.  As he sat cold in the Westgate Tower Robert Cushman made a decision that if and when he was released that he’d escape to someplace friendlier to his religious views.  When he was released, he fled to Holland to live for 9 years but had to leave again because a treaty with Spain was due to expire in 1619 which meant the Spanish Inquisition would soon legislate that little country—so Cushman had to flee again back to his homeland to find some other means of escaping the tyranny of the church and its battles with the state.  So he commissioned the Mayflower in Canterbury to take his small group of protestant followers to a New World where they’d be free to follow their passions which took them to the famous Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts.img_4215

When Satanists and radical Islamic lunatics want to claim that separation of church and state allows them to do whatever they want to whomever they like—they have an inaccurate view of the context of the statement. The separation of church and state was to prevent the situation that Robert Cushman and his pilgrim followers experienced on the ancient streets of Canterbury, England—where they couldn’t be thrown in the Westgate Tower just for having a different view of how the sacraments should be administered to the public.  The Church in its insecure position with the kings of England felt that Rome should continue to stand at the gateway to Heaven, and not those heredity selected masses of human flesh called kings—and if they lost that authority for just a decade of their existence, then the kings would push against the church for power over the people—so the poor people of England were caught in that vice between the state and the church.  People in America didn’t want to find themselves in that situation and they certainly didn’t want to be thrown in jail for having a different belief, as Cushman was.img_4160

For my wife and I it’s one thing to know these stories, it was quite another to stand in those spots and walk down the same corridors as Cushman did and to see what he did under similar conditions. If I had been Cushman, I would have been beyond pissed off and I don’t blame him a bit for organizing his pilgrimage to America to escape such nonsense.  It’s also important for those of us in America to honor the spirit of that first journey.   In many ways, this is the big debate surrounding the immigration debate to this day.  Refugees around the world are fleeing broken regions for the hope that America can shield them with freedom of persecution and economic mobility.  However, there are some who flee to America to destroy it from within from that same jealous Europe and all the fallen empires of the past for that first sinful act of defiance which Cushman fled from to begin with.  They do so not with military might, but with that paradox of squeezing society between the church and the state once again—such as what the radical Islamic terrorists have been advocating in their terrorist’s attempts.  The imposing religious beliefs of these modern terrorists are just a modern version of the medieval inquisitions being imposed on the here and now.  Yet the argument between church and state is the same as it was in Cushman’s time, only now we’ve run out of places to run.  So now we have to stay and fight because America is the last place on earth that is free of that type of tyranny.  And that is why we really celebrate Thanksgiving, and why for my family, it’s a very special Holiday.img_4174

John Lennon’s Stupid Song, “Imagine”: Why the political left hates “lone wolves”

This line could have been straight out of any classic dystopian novel, whether it be Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Fountainhead, or Atlas Shrugged.  Actually it reminds me of the wry satire of a Terry Gilliam film like Brazil, or George Lucas’ THX-1138.  Yet it was the offered critic of the reasoning behind the killer in England of Jo Cox—the beloved leftist politician who happened to be murdered a week ahead of the critical vote on whether or not to leave the European Union and reclaim their national sovereignty from the gross mismanagement of the socialist bureaucrats in Brussels.

“Many people who suffer from mental illness are socially isolated and disconnected from society, feelings of worthlessness are alleviated by doing voluntary work.

So that is “their” explaination on the matter?  It sounds eerily like the profile of the Orlando shooter.  I couldn’t help but think back to my school days—of which I rebelled heavily—and recall the thoughts I had of the entire public education system, rule through peer pressure and drive the herd toward mass collectivism which makes it easy for a central authority to administer.  That is precisely what we have here just hours after a legitimate tragedy of a young political star.  Despite her politics, Jo Cox seemed like a nice sincere lady who meant well.  But also common mainly caused by long-term unemployment.

“All these problems are

the political class for which she belonged cared much more for what they could get out of her martyrdom than what the individual life lost of her presence accounted for.  Here is the rest of the story in case you missed it. The slant of the report is more telling than the content.

Update — Suspected killer may have had “mental health problems”, in receipt of “psychotherapy and medication”

The suspected killer of MP Jo Cox has been named locally as Thomas Mair, who has featured in a number of local news reports in recent years as a mentally ill man who claimed to be benefitting from local voluntary opportunities.

An archived 2010 article about a country park which welcomed Mr. Mair from the Pathways Day Centre for adults with mental health problems to volunteer in building a “faith garden” reported Mr. Mair as saying: “I can honestly say it has done me more good than all the psychotherapy and medication in the world.

“Many people who suffer from mental illness are socially isolated and disconnected from society, feelings of worthlessness are also common mainly caused by long-term unemployment.

“All these problems are alleviated by doing voluntary work.

“Getting out of the house and meeting new people is a good thing, but more important in my view is doing physically demanding and useful labour.

“When you have finished there is a feeling of achievement which is emotionally rewarding and psychologically fulfilling.

“For people for whom full-time, paid employment is not possible for a variety of reasons, voluntary work offers a socially positive and therapeutic alternative.”

The political left in both the Orlando case of the mass shooting there and the English case of an assassinated political figure is that loners are the problem, not the failures of their open border policies, their economic philosophy or their inability to use legislation to create a utopian existence.  There were gun laws that were extreme in England and yet that didn’t prevent the murder of Jo Cox in city street.  (The Manchurian Candidate in the wake of this tragedy seems less like fiction given the proximity to such an important election) Rather, the political left—particularly the socialist progressives point to those who are outside of their direct control as the culprits—lone wolves who stay to themselves and don’t socially “assimilate” toward group conduct.

From my own grade school days to the present, of nearly five decades, I tend to look down on people who “need” social assimilation.  I see them as incomplete people.  I don’t harbor hatred for them, or seek to “destroy” them in any way.   For instance, people who desire to be in a bar on a Friday night drinking socially with friends I would consider to be less evolved than a person who can sit quietly with a book or just their thoughts for an entire weekend.  When it is first desired to be in the company of others because one does not feel comfortable alone, I would say that people like that are the ones who are suffering from mental deficiency—and they require some evolution.  However, our public schools all over the world are committed to nurturing that weakness in people, and the net result has been the failures we are seeing all over the world at this very moment.  That is the story in both the Orlando shooting and the Jo Cox case.  It’s not lone wolves that are the problem, it is a meddling political class of socialist loving progressives who have forced people next to each other to satisfy their ridiculous love of some Marxist John Lennon song, “Imagine.”  By the way, I think “Imagine” is one of the crappiest songs ever recorded.  I hated it when I was a kid before I even knew what it meant, and I despise it now.   It is the song of the progressive left—Lennon’s wife did have a lesbian affair with Hillary Clinton which makes the thinking of those deranged people very relevant to today—because they are still injecting themselves into our lives four decades later.

And really that’s how all this ties together.  When I was in grade school starting very early kids would ask what your favorite rock group was and if you didn’t have one, you were made to feel bad.  I didn’t care at all for pop music during my grade school years.  I was happiest spending time alone with my thoughts.  Many counselors and teachers tried to twist the arms of my parents and make them feel terrible about my lack of social consideration.  I never went to a school dance until I was a senior in high school and that was only to show everyone that I could bring one of the most attractive girls in Cincinnati—who was much better looking than any girl in my graduating class at the time.  It was an act of rebellion, and once I did it, I didn’t have to do it again.  I never even thought twice about it, until people put the social pressure on me to make me think there was something wrong with me.  It wasn’t me, it was actually a mass psychosis induced by the masses going to the trough to listen to popular music like what John Lennon was making in his private studio with Phil Spector to launch the world into global socialism.  And now that a majority of the world has followed those doomed lyrics, those idiots are looking for someone to blame, and the lone wolves are their most convenient target—because as long as they exist, the failure of their “Imagine” policies will be grossly obvious.

These violent events of recent, and all that follow are responsibilities of the political left and its salesmen–losers like John Lennon.  They obtained their song and now people are rejecting it.  In England, the people there want their country back from the European Union.  In America, we are about to vote for Donald Trump—the ultimate individualist.  John Lennon’s song has lost its appeal because the utopia he sang about has turned out to be a nightmare.  People did “Imagine” through the pot infested smoke they inhaled, and what they saw scared them.  And now they are turning away and the first people they see to follow are the lone wolves who have never been part of the group to begin with—people like me, Donald Trump, and many others.  These killers are not like me; they are not lone wolves who think on their own.  They require some doctrine to think for them—some institutional claim.  They are not lone wolves.

A lone wolf is a higher form of evolutionary living.  In the United States it is something to aspire to, even though many never get there.  It takes a lot more courage to sit alone at home with a book and your thoughts than it does to sit in a bar with five friends on a Friday giving you peer review of your clothing, your jewelry, and your economic status.  But for the political left, they can’t even think of such a thing because the goal of their existence is John Lennon’s stupid song—a path to nowhere and the hard truth that everything they ever believed in has failed our civilization.  Take it from a lone wolf—it is obvious.  That’s why they hate us.

What an idiot, yet she and her former husband are the leaders of the modern progressive movement.  And they call that art……………………………….LOL

If I Wanted America to Fail: The Evil of Progressive Attacks

A wonderful video has been created to display vividly that America is, and has been under attack for quite some time by enemies who seek the complete destruction of everything we stand for. The pain you are feeling at the gas pumps, the lack of jobs, and the declining quality of your life can be blamed on one thing—economic suicide committed against America by its enemies who occupy our public offices. They did this with trickery and double-talk, leaving us with a crisis that threatens our very lives. So watch this video carefully not just once, but several times—then pass it on to your friends and family so that they can understand the magnitude of the problems that reside right in front of our faces.

The fate of our future is in your hands—you must act or you will lose everything you possess within a generation.
