Doc Thompson at The Cincinnati Freedom Expo: A new age of radio at The Blaze

Doc Thompson’s speech at the Cincinnati Freedom Expo had for me a tinge of sadness even though it was electrifying in delivery.  It was sad because before he spoke two men had stood on the stage for a moment as giants in the radio business, at least locally within the Cincinnati area.  The man who introduced Doc Thompson was Brian Thomas of 55 KRC who is a wonderful person and has been with the liberty movement from day one.  He does a show from 6 AM to 9 AM every weekday morning that has done much to fan the flames of freedom over the years.   Doc Thompson just over a year ago worked with Thomas at Clear Channel Radio but as fate would have it is now part of a national show on The Blaze radio network that Glenn Beck has started which utilizes the Internet in ways that are innovative and pure from a moral standpoint.  My sadness came as I thought of all the battery operated radios I have had over the years where I would listen to AM radio at all hours of the day and night learning infinite amounts of information from minds communicating over vast distances to be received in the privacy of my own home.  Even as a young child of 8 years old as I turned on my radio to listen to WLW at 2 AM in the morning careful not to get caught by my parents for violating my sleep, I felt the privilege of being an American with access to such stores of knowledge passing over invisible airwaves.  As an adult I have participated in radio as a frequent guest and used the power of debate to articulate complicated arguments that are most successfully framed in such a fashion.  I love radio, and some of my best friends are radio people because we share the value of such thought freedom.  Unfortunately the reality of knowing too much is the result of such relationships, and this was the cause of my sadness as I watched Doc speak during the following clip.

The radio as it is today is dying.  It is being replaced with Internet radio, phone apps, and much more powerful and free means of communicating that stand to end the powerful rule of radio as controlled by the so-called public airwaves.  My sadness is that I like Brian Thomas at 55 KRC a lot, and I feel that within the decade his job at Clear Channel will be in peril as the kind of leap that Doc Thompson has made with Glenn Beck will change the world in a way that has not yet been foreseen.  Doc and his producer, long time friend Skip are truly on the cutting edge of technology with their all Internet radio show on the powerful Blaze Network.    Doc’s style of radio is traditional American with copious amounts of humor.  Doc like Glenn Beck likes to tackle stories that are very critical of the government, and it is the government who runs the FCC, Federal Communications Commission.  Under the First Amendment this should be no problem.  But radio people will testify privately that they have the same problems with the FCC as controversial figures often have with the IRS.  It is well-known that when controversial, small government types put a light on themselves, the risk of being audited by the IRS goes up dramatically.  The IRS is not shy about imposing themselves upon targets under the laws they helped shape to “inconvenience” the lives of the people they audit.  The threat of IRS audits is enough to change human behavior to stay away from any conduct the IRS might not approve of.  The same kind of performance goes on with the FCC.  If a radio station does not do enough “balanced” content a radio station is often audited by a FCC regulator and this can spell big trouble for a station trying to stay in business with ad sales and any revenue streams they can manage offering free content over the airwaves.  This is a hidden tyranny that few know about but those who are close to the business.  For instance, hypothetically speaking of course—perhaps a radio station provided too much content attacking public schools as incompetent and that the government took notice deciding they wanted to crack down on the station for “unfairly” targeting public education.  The concern is that public education is a shared government program, so the FCC activists seek to crack down on the violating station providing their government co-workers with a little help.  They audit the station’s programming and determine that the program director needs to provide more opinions from both sides of a political debate even though only one side represents the truth, and is accepted by the listening public.  Offering false progressive oriented information just to appear “balanced” has a negative impact on the listening audience whom the station seeks to appeal to in order to sell advertising space.  But failure to comply can mean the revocation of the FCC licenses for the station.  This is how the media has become so liberal over time is through this type of activism on behalf of the FCC.  The same content challenges come on television, and producers of content have had to learn to dance around the regulations to appease auditors.

The government grabbed this control with the Act of 1927 where the Commissioners had total power over the fate of professional broadcasters.  They did this in the fashion that they always do, by declaring that the airwaves where in the “public interest.”  From the outset public radio waves as quickly as they were discovered, or rather invented as a means for utilizing through technology, was taken over by government statists like President Herbert Hoover who declared in 1924, “radio communication is not to be considered as merely a business carried on for private gain, for private advertisement, or for entertainment of the curious.   It is a public concern impressed with the public trust and to be considered primarily from the standpoint of public interest in the same extent and upon the bases of the same general principles as our other public utilities.”  Hoover was of course wrong and was being influenced at the time by the global push for communism which had infected Europe.  To stave it off from the education institutions in America, Presidents like Hoover tossed sacrifices to the statist oriented big government progressive advocates in return for peace; much the way station directors do for FCC auditors in the present time.  The result has been a gradual erosion of the First Amendment from day one in radio and this is why I was sad watching Doc Thompson speak.  It wasn’t for Thompson that my heart went out, but for Brian Thomas and the station he works for that struggle with the FCC.  Doc Thompson who is now working for Glenn Beck is totally free of that FCC drivel which should have never been put in place to begin with.

The Internet is driving big government types insane with worry, which is why there are constant attempts to tax and regulate the Internet which in its current state is the perfect example of laissez-faire capitalism.  The government starting with Al Gore has tried to lay claim that it was he (government) who created the Internet so that they can hope to build in the minds of society the moral means to create some modern form of the Act of 1927 allowing the FCC to regulate Internet content and put a stop to all the free expression that goes on because of the unregulated content where competition crushes bad ideas, but encourages creativity.  It is because of the Internet that blog sites like this Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom site can thrive and bypass the regulated controls of newspapers and television.  It is because of the Internet that Doc Thompson now has the potential to reach listeners all over the world instead of the meager power of a radio station throwing information to the airwaves controlled by the government.

So far, the government has not been able to control the Internet with a moral argument that has duped the public, and it is driving them absolutely crazy.  As of this writing the CISP (Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act) passed the House of Representatives by a 288-127 vote, receiving support from 92 Democrats. It will move to the Senate and then to the president’s desk. That bill has been proposed in the same spirit as the Act of 1927 and is a gateway for the government to regulate Internet usage and information exchange.  The Internet powered by new media like blog sites, YouTube and Internet radio like The Blaze hosted by Doc Thompson has far more power than any FCC controlled business because good ideas will be accepted by the public, and bad ones will be flushed out the way capitalism is supposed to work under a laissez-faire system.  The FCC has harmed the flow of information in an attempt to control the behavior of on-air content in the same way that the government has destroyed the economy, through tampering, meddling, and coercion.  Because of the FCC Brian Thomas cannot say whatever he wants whenever he wants to, and put at risk his reputation to his listeners if he believes the risk is worth the reward.  For him, the decisions are already made.  He can discuss content in a certain way so that he does not violate the FCC license of the company he works for.  If he crosses the line, because of the license renewal process, management can reel him back under control, and this is the direct result of government intrusion into broadcasting.  CEO’s and other managers trying to keep their professional broadcasting companies operating, have learned to stray to the political left in order to keep auditors off their backs and keep advertisers secure.   To understand how serious this situation is watch this broadcast between Doc Thompson and Matt Clark on WAAM radio in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Doc Thompson now on the other hand only has to worry about Glenn Beck.  Doc is free to do and say what he pleases and the risks are completely on his shoulders.  For instance, when Doc shared the hallways of Clear Channel with Brian Thomas during the fall of 2011, Doc would wrap up his show each day with a five-minute segment “What have we learned today.”  It’s a fun segment that allows for a lot of humor, and is an aspect of his show that his audience enjoys.  On The Blaze network Doc and Skip do over 10 minutes of the segment and have a tremendous amount of fun doing it.  Most of the segment is deeply critical of modern government and the outrageous hypocrisy that is often associated with institutionalized sacrifice.  Doc’s show has only been active since January of 2013 and is quickly growing in numbers.  After listening to Doc now for a couple of months and noticing how it has evolved, the success of it is a foregone conclusion.  It is successful because it follows the rules of laissez-faire capitalism and will soon crush the kind of radio stations that I have grown up listening to because the FCC will not allow direct competition.  The government has declared itself owners of the airwaves and have put themselves out of the emerging market.  It is because of the FCC that the Internet is a thriving, vivacious place of anything and everything at any time a day, the way the American economy is supposed to be.  For instance, last week my Jacuzzi had a heating element that went out in it, so I took the removed part up to a pool specialty shop where they told me they couldn’t find a replacement.  Discouraged, my wife went to Ebay and looked up Jucuzzi heating elements.  She found a match for our tub that was $22, about $40 cheaper than I was expecting.  She ordered it, it arrived by UPS and I installed it within a few hours.  The tub was back up and operating again in no time at all while I was in attendance watching Doc Thompson’s speech.  Ebay is a dynamic market driven supplier whereas the carefully controlled regulated pool store could not help me get what I needed.  If not for Ebay, I may have had a really difficult time getting a new heating element.  The same kind of flexibility is what is happening to the First Amendment in public broadcasting.  The old radio business model is dying, whereas the new one represented by Doc Thompson is growing rapidly.

The sadness I felt at Doc’s speech wasn’t so much in that the old radios of my youth were becoming extinct.  It was more like witnessing a young child who was born and immediately had its legs cut off so that it could never run away too far from mother government and had just now been seen for its handicap.  Such a comparison was only noticed in a side by side analysis.    The FCC put the clamps down on free thought in a direct reaction to the great communist threat coming from across the pond, and what America ended up with was broadcasting which reflects the mixed economy of our present society—full of diversity, and content, but always possessing a subtle reminder that America could do better, have more, and reach much loftier heights.  It’s the thought one has who visits Disney World and sees that there are wheel chair ramps up the Swiss Family Robison House in Adventure Land which reminds viewers that the ADD had their input on the creative impulse of such capitalistic endeavors represented eloquently in amusement parks.  More and more listeners of radio programming are switching to Doc Thompson on The Blaze radio network from 6 AM to 9 AM Monday through Friday to hear the unregulated truth separated gleefully from the long arm, and nanny state FCC.  Shows like what Doc Thompson and Glenn Beck are producing on the Internet is what radio should have always been. But radio never had a chance, because of the government’s innate instinct to behave as European statists devoid of logic, encapsulated by a mask of goodness, only to discover the roots of tyranny were uttered in the well-intentioned words of Herbert Hoover which created the Great Depression prevailed.  The Internet is all about laissez-faire capitalism and this has never been truer than the wonderful work Doc Thompson produces each day in thought, humor, and news delivery.  His show can be heard anywhere in the world where the Internet can be received and is the future of America and the continuous pursuit of freedom.

Making of ‘Tail of the Dragon’ The Novel Part V: Morality beyond the limits of political law

Many people used to say that someday I would learn my place, and stop being so rambunctious.  They said that someday I would turn down the music and place my foot lighter on the accelerator.  They used to say that once I did some jail time, or paid enough fines that I would “settle down.”  That was nearly three decades ago, and those people if they are still alive themselves, have stopped tapping their foot waiting for it to happen.  They have had to accept that after all the many, many times that I have stood in front of judges, all the countless times I have had patrol car lights behind me, and even the times that I represented myself in court because my legal representation was incompetent and not able to defend my cases to my satisfaction, that their dreams of defeat would come.  People who have stood against me, or wished for me to fall in line with typical human acceptance of authority have had to give up on their dreams of my compliance.  What they never figured out was that I learned when I was very young that the American legal system was made up of social looters who were more interested in making money, than justice, and the intent behind law was not the protection of private property—as its supposed to be, but in the rule of a political class over the “common man,” and I have fought that tendency since I was a 5-year-old child with my Big Wheel.  And I haven’t kept my opinions to myself over the years.  Instead I have taught them to my kids which can be seen in the below video, which is Part 5 of the Making of series chronicling the creation of my latest novel Tail of the Dragon.  CLICK HERE TO REVIEW PREVIOUS INSTALLMENTS.  In the video, my daughter and her husband accompanied my wife and I to the Indie Gathering Film Festival in Cleveland, Ohio to accept an award for a short film I had entered for competition titled The Overman, for the best experimental film category.

Because of my thoughts about speed, and the legal system I had no problem telling the operators of the film festival that I would arrive at 10 AM that morning from Cincinnati.  My daughter and her husband wanted to go with us, so we planned a motorcycle trip for the weekend up to Cleveland.  I wanted to take a break from the writing of Tail of the Dragon to accept the award, so we decided to leave on a Saturday morning, spend the night at the Holiday Inn at West Lake where the film festival was being held, then return on Sunday.  At 5 AM in the morning, we hit the road on my Boulevard motorcycle.  My son-in-law rode the GS750 that he bought from me the year before, and my daughter rode their Kawasaki Ninja.  However, my daughter had never ridden a motorcycle on her own.  Previously she had ridden on the back of the Ninja with my son-in-law, but that was the extent of her motorcycle riding experience.  So I promised her we’d take several breaks along the way.  Her only real concern at the time was that she only had a temp permit, and was concerned that she’d run into trouble with the law being so far away from home on just a learners permit.  This was the way I came up with the plot line in Tail of the Dragon where Rick Stevens gets pulled over by the police while on a learners permit in Tennessee.  My daughter was taking a big risk riding a very fast motorcycle as her first real riding experience, and over such a vast distance.  But as I’ve always taught her, without risk the rewards are often not very profitable, so she desired to take a risk in hope of rewards and push herself in a way she had never done before.  600 miles over a weekend on a motorcycle at over 80 to 90 MPH the entire time as a beginning rider with only a motorcycle temp license was challenging, and I was proud of her.

We stopped short of Columbus well before the sun came up to get a feel for how she was doing.  Early in the game, she was getting used to the bike and the speed, so we were able to move on up the highway making a few fuel stops and a traditional breakfast at the Cracker Barrel—which we tend to do when traveling as a family.  Much of the time we were traveling at over 90 MPH as the sun was coming up which was spectacular.  It’s the kind of experience that cannot be explained to people who have not participated in that kind of activity.  With me the speed is necessary.  I was scheduled to arrive in Cleveland at Lake Wood around 10 AM to get my booth set up and report for the screening of my film.  But I set such deadlines knowing the pace I typically travel at, which is faster than flight if TSA lines are accounted for.  I can often travel to far-flung cities quicker than an airplane can load passengers, takeoff, and land dispatching their customers.  So I often take full advantage of that ability.

Many people over the years have told me that my driving tendencies are reckless, but this is based on the perspective of “average” people who desire to be led around like cattle by a political class afraid of their own shadows.  Never-the-less, my attitude has put me into a lot of trouble with the law.  The goal of these legal altercations has not been justice on behalf of the safety of mankind.  The goal is to use the law, which has set speed limits unnecessarily low so that politicians can have the opportunity to have a tax increase against the public in the disguise of “justice.”  The point of my new novel was to illustrate this fact based on my many experiences in front of judges and police officers.  My editor at American Book at one point challenged one of the confrontations that Rick Stevens, (the protagonist of Tail of the Dragon) had with a police officer—as there were several—and didn’t believe that a cop would behave in the way I described in the novel.  I explained to her that I had been in nearly the same exact circumstance in real life which involved a gun, and that Rick Stevens story had its roots more in reality than in fiction.

We arrived in Cleveland  to meet the day ahead of the other contestants even though many of them were already staying at the hotel.  We were the first to arrive in the networking room, which is the way I like to perform my business.  We set up our table and did our work at the festival.  I shook hands, signed autographs, posed for pictures and received my awards.  When the other filmmakers went to a party at the hotel bar that night, my family was in our hotel room working on philosophy concepts and taking notes from the day.  My son-in-law does a lot of thinking of his own and had many thoughts to capture from his observations, and my daughter naturally does as well.  She often stays up late every night writing down ideas, editing pictures and doing research, so we don’t attend many parties.  We socialize in a festive fashion on VERY rare occasions.  I spent many hours after everyone went to bed working on a re-write of the completed Tail of the Dragon manuscript based on some of my observations from the previous day.

The next day, we awoke, had a nice breakfast and said goodbye to everyone in Cleveland.  We hit the road with the same fury for which we came.  At a fuel stop, my very fatigued daughter let the Ninja fall over as she was extremely tired from the hard riding the previous day and so far during our trip south.  The bike’s fall bent the shift shaft that went into the gearbox preventing the Ninja from shifting out of second gear.  This essentially halted our progress as it would be impossible to do any highway driving without the ability to shift out of second gear.  My son-in-law and I went to fix the bent shaft and get the bike operating again.  My daughter felt terrible.  She was tired, strained to her limit, and still nearly 200 miles from home.  She was caught between the tough spot of wanting to complete the journey and hoping that the motorcycle was broken beyond repair to relieve her of having to ride it back home.  For people not used to such long rides, a 90 MPH journey on a crotch rocket over 200 miles of highway is tough.  The wind beats at the body in terrible ways and there is no way to shift a seating position to become more comfortable.  She was tired, and her legs weren’t working very well from being deprived of movement which is why the bike fell over during a fuel stop.

But she toughed it out once we got the bike operating again.  We stopped just above Columbus for dinner after spending most of the afternoon fixing the bike in a parking lot.  Once we arrived above Columbus we were close enough to home that she knew she could do the last hour and a half on a full stomach.  She swore to me that she’d never ride that far again, and it took her a long time to get back on a motorcycle.  She was never so glad to arrive home as she was that day.  The first day had been fun, but tiring.  The second day had been too much.  It did occur to me on the way home to back off the gas, and drop down to 75 MPH or even 65 MPH.  But I was worried that if we yielded to the circumstances that my daughter would always feel that the situation had conquered her, instead of her conquering the situation.  As a father, I did worry about her blanking out from the strain and crashing all over the highway.  But I wanted her to know that I trusted her, and her desire to not let me down was a gift from me to her in delivering her to a conquest that she will know all her life as one she didn’t walk away from.

When my daughter was a little girl, a bully spit on her while she played with her sister and friends at the playground.  He had been showing off for his friends and was older by several years.  My kids were targeted because I had been known in our neighborhood as the most vicious advocate against marijuana sales anywhere in southern Ohio.  I caused such a ruckus over the sale of marijuana in my community that I knew all the cops by name as they came to my house so often.  After a while I gave up calling the cops because it was revealed to me that they were involved in the pot sales directly and passively.  In fact I had a next door neighbor who was a cop and he fought me viciously as he thought I was a NARC, and made sure everyone knew it, not only in the neighborhood but also on the police force.  I gave up on the legal system when it was realized that it was corrupt beyond repair, and my experiences thereafter became my novel The Symposium of Justice.  Once it became known that I would not yield to my neighbors who wanted to buy and use marijuana we went into a stalemate since the law was technically on my side.  So they sent their children after my children which is how the little boy spit on my little girl.  My daughter has always been a very confident person, full of life, and the look on her face when she came home with spittle on the front of her shirt was one of the moments that could have shattered her for the rest of her life.  The intention by the boys was to impose their will upon her with force and push her into social compliance.  They were bigger and meaner and the message to my kids was that they would have to submit to the thuggish authority of the neighborhood bullies or suffer the consequences.  So I packed my kids and their friends into our car and tracked down the bullies at their house where I “forcefully” made the guilty boy apologize to my daughter in front of his father—who had actually encouraged the behavior.  About a month later some much older boys, from 18 to 20 years old gathered in front of our house across the street in a mob of about 30 young people and harassed my 9 to 10-year-old children for riding their bicycles on the sidewalk.  My wife called me at work, so I rushed home and instantly engaged the boys in “aggressive confrontation.”  The police never came, the owner of the house stayed inside looking out their upstairs window hoping that the fight would go their way, but it didn’t.  The boys were forced to disperse in retreat.   The next morning there was a broken egg at the end of my driveway where some smartass thinking they were tough threw an egg from across the street to land on my driveway behind our family car during the night.  They were testing the waters to see if I would let it go.  That night when the sun went down, I bought two dozen eggs and lunched them at the home blasting the windows and doors with slimy yoke and broken shells.  The homeowners were in their living room watching TV, but never came to the window or even opened the door.  And they certainly didn’t call the police, not with the amount of pot they had in their house which nobody wanted to address.  The cop next door was friends with the owners of that home, and did not make a move either.  Watching all this activity my children learned about justice in life, and what sometimes has to be done to get it.  This is why my daughter exhausted from 600 plus miles of riding a motorcycle across the state of Ohio twice in two days struggled to keep the bike upright and conquer her exhaustion to arrive home save and sound.  The whole point of riding the bike herself and not just sitting on the back with my son-in-law was so that she could prove to herself that she could achieve the feat. And she did.  If I had interfered with her as an adult, I would have done her a disservice.  It was my job when she was a child to interfere and kick the crap out of some neighborhood kids that were harassing her because I was teaching her not to give up…….as a father.  But coming back from Cleveland, Ohio after a weekend film festival, she had to live up to what she had become as an adult.  It was hard, I was worried she might not make it, but I was more worried about what would happen if she didn’t fight through it and conquer a lingering fear.

These thoughts and history are what went into the fearless nature of Rick Stevens in my novel Tail of the Dragon.   When we arrived home, I again wrote pages and pages of dialogue and thoughts about what I had witnessed.  I was proud of my daughter, and everyone who had traveled those roads with me that weekend.  The climax for many would have been getting the award at the film festival.  But for me, it was only a footnote.  I like getting awards, and enjoy the company of people at those kinds of events.  But it was the journey I remembered most from that weekend which is why there isn’t more footage of the actual festival in my video.  For me, it was the boldness that my daughter tackled in her challenge of riding a motorcycle to Cleveland and back during a weekend on a learners permit at high-speed that mattered.  The experience would have been denied to us if we stayed within the parameters of the law, as concocted by politicians.  I have learned over the years such as in the situation with my neighbor and the many trips to court that I have personally endeavored in; that the law is more adequately used to restrict the lives of people more than it is dedicated to justice, or “fairness.”  So I typically consider law as a second-hand notion.  This attitude is reflected in my characters from Tail of the Dragon exceptionally well.  It also makes it a unique work of thought. Readers of Tail of the Dragon get the rare opportunity to climb into the mind of outlaws like Rick and his wife Renée Stevens to discover aspects of themselves that long ago yielded to the parameters of fear that has been imposed upon them tragically.  The idea of freedom is as foreign to them as the surface of Jupiter is to a villager in the Congo.  It makes me proud when my family goes on trips like the one to the film festival with me and overcomes a number of obstacles to enjoy a fine meal in utter exhaustion just north of Columbus on a hot Sunday afternoon an hour and a half away from home.

Some might read what I’ve said here and think that I am a bad parent for encouraging my daughter to break the speed limit, and drive under improper endorsements.  Those are the same type of people who spit on that same child and earned my wrath when the police had conspired with them to clear me from a neighborhood so that marijuana sales could flow without opposition.  And it is that type of utter hypocrisy which causes Rick Stevens in Tail of the Dragon to thumb his nose at the government of The United States and take his fight to the death under the mantra “live free or die.”  For Rick Stevens, he meant it.  And the way to make the words come to paper came from rides like the one to a Cleveland film festival with my daughter who was stepping into her adulthood with the fearless conquest of obstacles that most cower from in trepidation only to punch through the other side in a life of illumination that shines through in virtually every action of human endeavor.

It was never my intention to grow up in a typical fashion to become a nice compliant adult that does whatever a political class determines in their infantile wisdom to be sufficient to the human experience.  In that regard, I have always been on a quest for the “super human” experience.  I have taught my children nothing short of living their lives as “super humans” themselves.  And upon delivering my children into adulthood I am not done with parenting.  Only now, the students are not my biological children but the inquiring minds of those who know there is more to life than what they see before them, and lack the faculties to meet that life.  For such minds, being an average human will not be enough.  They must become more so.  For them, I present Rick Stevens and the greatest car chase in the history of the world in the novel Tail of the Dragon.

When many years ago my wife and I pulled our kids out of public school to teach them at home there was a fury among our friends and family members that really never ended.  I have never been a fan of public education.  I rebelled against it as a youth with every fiber in my body.  I’ve always seen public education as dangerous, brainless, and a menace to the human race.  But while I was raising my own children, I was willing to give society the benefit of a doubt, so I let my kids attend those indoctrination centers knowing that I had the ability to deprogram them with copious amounts of fatherly advice.  But when the obvious intentions of public education made themselves known, my reaction has been either to pull my children from their tyrannical grip, or starve the beast by denying them funding through taxation.  And those true intentions have never been more evident than they are now over the issue of Common Core instruction.

I am obviously not a supporter of Common Core in public schools.  Common Core is an honest attempt by the political class to bring the standards of all public education establishments up to the same level so everyone attending a government school is getting the same knowledge.  The intention as it always is–is a good one.   I sincerely believe that the characters involved truly believe they are doing well for humanity and the world’s children.  That is because their own educations have taught them to think in such a fashion, and their ignorance as tribal leaders of the human race has misguided their logic.  The result of Common Core is and will be that good schools will be pulled down to the level of bad schools making all schools “bad.”

For most adults they want their children to get out of public education the “social” experience of making friends who are their age, have exposure to team sports, and gain the basic abilities to read, write, and do some math.  Outside of those basics, they also want out of public education a free baby sitter to watch their children during the daytime hours while the parents pursue “other” activities.  This was not my goal upon raising my children.  I wanted to raise philosophers and great thinkers, and they were not going to get to such a lofty height of mental acuity listening to some raving lunatic stand at the front of a room preaching to them the merits of liberal philosophy, so my wife and I pulled them out of school.   The protests that came from our family and friends were because they had all bought into Lyndon Johnston’s Great Society idea of strong central government and a persistent yielding to the village chiefs of politics.  Such yielding assumes that “other” people know better and are smarter, so they are equipped mentally to shape the lives of our youth.

I have always been weary of public education, but I tried to suppress that sentiment when I created No Lakota Levy to stand against my own neighborhood school system’s bottomless pit of tax requests.  After successfully defeating three consecutive levies, my group demanded that the administration ask the employees of the teacher’s union to take a 5% cut in pay as the average wage was $63K per year—which was too much.  They ignored those demands and revealed that their impact strategy as an institution under the command of modern politics was not in the education of children otherwise they would not have attempted to hurt children with pay-for-play sports, cutting electives, and other hardships.  Their impact strategy was to fulfill the desires of socialists, communists, and Fabian Socialists who infected American education through the Department of Education many years ago, changing their names to “progressive,” and “democrats,” then seeking to pull the wool over the eyes of America by conning us all into funding our own destruction eroding away the values of our property for the “good of children.”  Once this was understood by facts rather than theory, I was officially done with support of public education of any kind.  I am no longer an advocate for reasonable fiscal spending in public schools.  Instead, I am an advocate for the complete dismantling of public education to be replaced by competitive replacements.  I do not want “the government” to teach the youth of America.  They cannot be trusted.  The evidence is in and it is everywhere.

The news revealed by the Glenn Beck program and other sources is not new to me.  I have been where they are currently for a long, long time.  The unintended consequence of Common Core instruction for anybody who is on the fence currently will be 100% the advancement of “statism” to the youth of America, and that is not acceptable.   Government does not understand any other concept besides “statism.”  It’s not that they can help it……………they can’t.  Statism is the result of all government to seek ways to preserve itself as a collective unit.  Statism is an old, archaic social idea that has outlived its usefulness.  It is a shackle upon the human race, and has no place in the minds of mankind.  Common Core in American schools is “statism” instruction, which is why it must be rejected not only as a federal program, but also the premise of their entire education system.  It must be scrapped and completely re-thought from the ground up for it’s a menace to children’s minds.

For my needs public education was never sufficient.  It wasn’t when I went to school, and it wasn’t certainly for my own children.  Public education was so unimportant to my wife that she didn’t even graduate with her class even though she was an honor student.  She simply received her graduation certificate in the mail skipping the ceremony completely.  And we’ve only been to one class reunion.  We went to my fifth and realized that we had grown so far away from all those people that we had nothing in common with them.  We’ve never attended another one in over twenty years now, and never regretted it for a single moment.  My children did the same.  Both of them spent their senior years traveling Europe as their school friends were attending their graduation ceremonies and getting drunk with senseless mental evasion techniques (smoking pot, drinking alcohol, and watching mindless programs on television—all things that I am adamantly against).  I remember that my oldest daughter had sent me a text message with pictures from the Terracotta Army on display at the British Museum of Natural History she was attending on the same night that Lakota was graduating their students from her senior class.  She wasn’t missing anything by skipping out on the ridiculousness of public education and the Fabian Socialist attempts to dumb down the students so that they all grow up and become willing servants to the kings and queens of politics.  She was living real life and studying real history up close and personal.

Common Core is everything and more that Glenn Beck has stated in the above videos.  Most everyone reading this will likely have difficulty understanding since they have accepted that public education is some kind of civil right, and that it’s all about friends, school jackets and a sense of belonging to greater concepts than oneself.  I call public education collectivist indoctrination.  For virtually every modern problem coming from the minds of human beings everywhere from their sexual dysfunction, to their lack of mental capacity in the field of business, to their family issues, to their utmost failures in politics, to the growing acceptance of socialism over capitalism, it is the fault of government-run public schools. Common Core is just the most recent debacle that has good, pure, intentions which in reality turn out to be destructive to the minds of children because the idea came from statists taught their values through the political philosophy of socialism.  With that in mind it deserves to be met with resistance, revulsion, skepticism, and tenacious defunding of the program so that it doesn’t spread to another generation of young people and destroy their minds like a rotten apple that has fallen to the ground and been consumed by parasitic insects.  We already have more than three generations of rotten apples, and another one will end American culture, which is the Fabian Socialist plan, and has been from the beginning.  Common Core is a parasite to the mind of mankind because it is a statist policy that will instruct children to grow up with a statist mindset.  And statism leads to perpetual war, perpetual tax increases, perpetual expansion of government, and perpetual regression of the creative mind for all human beings.  That is why if you truly love your children, they should be removed from any school that is accepting Common Core as their new standard.  And because of the federal money involved, most schools will be accepting Common Core.  That leaves American society with a difficult decision to make—one that I understand completely.  I’ve been there myself.  But I’ve told the story of what I did and why, and I can report that my family is better for it.  The question is what will you do dear reader?  Will you take the easy path of blind acceptance in government leadership, or will you carve your own path through the wilderness of uncertainty?  I’d recommend the later, and your children will be much better for it.

Glenn Beck’s New Book ‘Control-Exposing The Truth About Guns’: coming to the Cincinnati Freedom Expo April 19th

George Lang on 55 KRC with Brian Thomas: Success in West Chester, Ohio and why

It shouldn’t be astonishing to hear, but Brian Thomas of 55 KRC had difficulty hiding his surprise during an interview with George Lang, who is a trustee from West Chester, Ohio.  Lang was fresh off a vote where he stood against the other two trustees on the board who wanted to file for a federal grant to build a new sidewalk in the community he represents.  During the interview Lang explained to Thomas that building sidewalks was not a part of the core competency of local government and was irresponsible.  Brian Thomas has a history of advocating such small government positions and was noticeably impressed by Lang in a conversation that should be the standard for every politician in America.  Hear it for yourself at the clip below.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Lang’s comments is that he didn’t attempt to do as almost every politician has done for decades and take credit for the success of West Chester as a township due to his political leadership.  Instead George Lang made it known that the success of West Chester is not because of any policies of government.  The success of West Chester is not because of any law that was created by the trustees.  The success of West Chester is because politicians like Lang have managed to create an environment where businesses can make money, which brings jobs to the township, creates tax revenue, and feeds the economic life blood of the community.  Without jobs, there isn’t any money for anybody to spend on restaurants, shopping complexes, or on any form of charity.  George Lang understands that the secret to success in any community is to keep government off businesses backs as much as possible so that a friendly commerce environment is conducive to growth.

It is very tempting for a typical politician to declare that the success of a community like West Chester is due to the construction of sidewalks, or the quality of the schools.  But the truth is that communities are not built by government in any fashion, they are established for good or bad by the quality of the residents who live there.  In the case of West Chester, where there is a pro business environment, investment makes sense to entrepreneurs.  They come to West Chester to make money, not to serve some altruistic purpose.  The only reason that a business would endeavor to set up a place of exchange where they offer goods or services is for the benefit of profit.  The byproduct of that profit is in jobs provided to the community, and money to spend on other businesses.  Without business, a community is a failure.  There cannot be success if there is no business.  If there are no jobs, there is no money for other businesses, and there are no taxes for the government to loot from.  In essence, there is nothing without business.

Brian Thomas was surprised that George Lang understood this very basic economic principle, since it would appear that most of society at large has failed to come to grips with such an elementary idea.  The school system Lakota in West Chester is one of the largest in all of Ohio, and they are proud of their Excellence with Distinction awards obtained for over a decade of consecutive years.  The government workers at the school wish to believe that the cause of their excellence is in their wonderful skills as employees.  But they are wrong.  The cause is that the children who come to their schools and attend their classes are better than children from other classes in other schools.  With government schools, one teacher is not better than another since they are all trained the same way and are motivated by the same profit structure.  Collective bargaining in union contracts means that bad teachers get paid the same as good teachers so every school has good and bad teachers proportionately no matter what the school or the pay rates as pay is primarily dictated by years of service and not performance.  This means that the elements that make one school better than another is the quality of the children who attend, and that quality starts in the home.  In West Chester there are an above average number of homes with two parents, most of which have traditional families.  Unemployment is low with government dependence on welfare being nearly non-existent.  The children who show up at Lakota come from families that value private property and respect responsible behavior, and have parents who participate in children’s lives.  As I have said many times, all the employees of Lakota could be eliminated with a RIF and replaced with employees fresh out of college from every position, and Lakota would still be ranked Excellent with Distinction.  The children would perform the same, because the parents tend to care about their kids, and those parents tend to work in jobs in and around West Chester.

The quality of a community begins with the number of businesses in it, and the amount of money they can make.  For proof look at any community anywhere in the world where government has stuck its nose into the affairs of entrepreneurs and it will quickly be noticed that these places have empty buildings with signs in them looking for suckers to lease them.  But nobody in their right mind would sign a lease in a community that has a looting government that wishes to stick them on a cross to suck out their life in service to the altruistic aims of a pathetic name-plate addicted politician.  Most of the time politicians attempt to do as all government does, especially schools–they take credit for the success and efforts of others with collective ownership.  These types of politicians are like those football fans who leave a stadium after the quarterback of their favorite team throws a last second touchdown to win the game.  Upon leaving these fans declare, “WE WON.”  They are mistaken.  The quarterback won with his individual effort.  The fans simply sucked off his success to share in the glory of victory.  Government schools do this all the time, and politicians are notorious for performing such social looting.  They wish to believe that just because a business posts a profit after four quarters of activity that they had some input into that success because they built a sidewalk, or created some foolish zoning ordinance regulating signs and other forms of advertising.  But the politician is actually worthless.  All they can really do for their communities is fulfill their core competency obligations which is to protect private property.  Anything more than that is theft and looting of other people’s effort.

George Lang is only one of three trustees in West Chester.  One is a registered Democrat who is no different from the typical fan at a football game.  They proclaim “they” win but the reality is that they only sit on their ass and watch others do important things.  The other one is a registered Republican, but behaves like an extreme socialist from Greece.  That particular politician is the kind of football fan that watches the game at home and falls asleep in their chair with a bag of nachos lying across their bloated belly and wakes up four hours after the game is over and declares, “WE WON.”  Meanwhile the warriors on the field of battle who actually played the game have long showered and are at home playing video games on their Xbox unites.  With only one trustee of any real worth understanding that creating a pro business friendly environment is the key to economic growth and community prosperity West Chester has thrived.  If those other two trustees could be replaced with other politicians like George Lang the success West Chester could experience would be explosive.  But any community could have success if they thought like George Lang.  It is because they don’t that Brian Thomas was so surprised by an elected politician who actually understood that the key to success in politics is to sit down, shut up, and let the players on the field play the game.  Stay out-of-the-way of business, and politicians will bring wealth to their communities.  The more they tamper, the worse their economies will be.

Doc Thompson at The Cincinnati Freedom Expo: Third time’s a charm!

883218_10151579628380520_1951080891_oDoc Thompson from The Blaze Radio Network is confirmed to be one of the speakers at the Cincinnati Freedom Expo at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on April 19th 2013.  Ann Becker president of the Cincinnati Tea Party and Doc Thompson sealed the deal after Doc was able to clear his schedule for the event.  It took some effort as Doc Thompson was filling in for Glenn Beck’s show in Dallas, Texas during the first week of April, and was extremely hard to get a hold of.  Doc is the usual fill in for the Glenn Beck Program when Beck is off on vacation, which keeps Doc busy not only doing his own morning show on The Blaze from 6 to 9 AM each morning Monday through Friday, but Beck’s normal 9 AM to noon slot as well.  Beck’s radio show has a footprint of well over 7.5 million weekly listeners so even though it’s difficult to do 6 hours of radio per day on those occasions, the effort is well worth the expense.

For those who are coming to the Cincinnati Freedom Expo and want to get pictures taken with Doc, be prepared to wear your tallest shoes.  Doc stands over 6’ 4” and dwarfs most normal sized people, so keep that in mind.  Doc is usually very gracious about doing those kinds of publicity things, so come prepared.  The Cincinnati Freedom Expo will have a casual atmosphere where radio celebrities like Doc and 55 KRC’s Brian Thomas will be accessible which makes it unique for such a large event.  Not often is such high-caliber talent able to interact with the spectators in a causal way, but that is the intention of Ann Becker’s approach to the Expo, which she describes as being essentially a giant Tea Party meeting.  The early rumblings from the organizers believe that this event will become the CPAC of the Midwest, as it appears to be shaping into.  Next year the talk has already evolved into making the event an all day spectacle to satisfy the intense interest.  This year the event begins at 7 PM and should wrap up around 10 PM, and the content providers are filling up with the addition of Doc Thompson.  FreedomWorks is hosting a booth, and The Tenth Amendment Center will also be prominently present just to name a few.

Doc Thompson is one of the most entertaining radio talk hosts anywhere on the radio today which accounts for his consistent success.  His brand is difficult for modern radio producers as he tends to have an old-fashioned sense of responsible world view but mixes it with sincere yet over-the-top comedy bits laced with satire.  Doc has had a colorful history bragging often about the many radio jobs he’s been fired from.  He has worked in Richmond, Virginia, Lincoln, Nebraska, Las Vegas, Nevada and Cincinnati, Ohio to name a few. It was when he was at 700 WLW that he and I developed a friendship while exposing the horrors and hypocrisy of public education with dozens of broadcasts reaching 38 states and parts of Canada living to this very day on YouTube.  His most recent job was with CBS radio in Detroit before moving to The Blaze Radio Network at the start of 2013 working directly for Glenn Beck. He was instrumental in some of those stations winning 5 Marconi Awards, the equivalent of the Academy Award for radio excellence.

Making people laugh is important to Doc. His medium of choice is of course radio. He dabbles in many styles with sarcasm and satire usually present. Although he is candid and forthright he loves good spirited practical jokes.  And he is not afraid of controversy as can be seen the following video regarding North Korea’s recent attempts to beat the drums of war.

When I first announced the Cincinnati Freedom Expo here at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom I provided a list of all the types of people who shouldn’t come to the Expo, and given the length of the list, one would wonder if there was anybody left in the entire world who should come.  CLICK TO REVIEW.  The freedom movement does not fit nicely into the modern view of things from either the Republican side or the Democrat side.  I wouldn’t even call it Libertarian.  It is more of a philosophy shift away from the political emphasis which the media has steered social concern towards Plato–back to the epistemology of Aristotle.  The current trend has philosophically migrated toward Plato for many centuries most accurately summed up in the great work The Republic.  The philosophic idea of America rejected Plato’s form of republic and instead formed a republic based on Aristotle’s ideas of reason.  These thoughts elude 99% of society currently, so the point is not one of political sway, but of re-teaching society what social progressives have sought to destroy in foundation philosophy.  The best way to describe the current freedom movement is to point inquiring minds to The American Adventure at The Epcot Center in Disney World.  For me personally, I consider that exhibit sacred as it allows visitors to understand what the kinds of people who are attending the Cincinnati Freedom Expo are fighting for.  It is that type of America that Glenn Beck is fighting for, and why he has hired the unique talents of Doc Thompson.  It is that America that I defend when I write here at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom and it is the heart and soul of the Tea Party movement of which Ann Becker currently represents in the Cincinnati area.

The Freedom Movement is not for everyone.  Recently I explained to some of my extended family members who are staunch Republicans that future presidential candidates like John Kasich, Chris Christy, and other machine politicians that fall under the tent of the John Boehner types, are not desirable for my support just because they can win elections by manipulating the masses to vote for them.  My picks would be people like Dr. Benjamin Carson, Rand Paul, or the skeletal remains of Ayn Rand.  I explained to them that I am to the political right of the current political right.  I don’t consider myself at all a radical, but compared to the current Platonic political landscape, I am a radical in favor of capitalism.  Of those three candidates, one is a man of color who is being condemned by the political left—(so much for civil rights), another is a white guy from Kentucky with a tendency to filibuster in the Senate, and the other is a deceased woman who is wiser as a skeleton than the flesh and blood of all Washington D.C. put together.  All those candidates would be better than what current politics has to offer.  The people coming to the Cincinnati Freedom Expo know it too, which is why they are coming to be around like-minded people and hear from people like Doc Thompson who are on the front of the freedom fighting movement. It is toward that commitment The Blaze under Glenn Beck’s direction is dedicated and why Doc Thompson is now a direct employee of Glenn Beck—to advance the cause of freedom in a way that is unique to Thompson’s radio style.

That style will now be on exhibit at the Cincinnati Freedom Expo as the feature speaker.  If you have not registered for your tickets yet, then you better do so now.  Starting Monday, the radio ads heard above will be broadcast on 55 KRC where Brian Thomas hosts his own radio show during Doc Thompson’s usual time slot.  It is expected that the tickets will go fast once they are made public over the radio to the target audience.  And now that Doc Thompson is scheduled, he will be talking about the Expo on his own show which is national.  So it is advisable that you register before Monday to ensure that you will be able to get into the Expo.  For more information on the Expo and the other speakers attending, CLICK HERE.

Ann has told me that I will be in the press box, so I expect to spend most of my time there.  Feel free to come up and say hello.  I don’t get to visit with all my readers here in person very much, so this Expo will be a great opportunity to touch base.  And remember, especially ladies, if you want a picture next to Doc Thompson, be sure to wear heels otherwise it will be hard to frame your head in a picture with Doc due to his extreme height.  Again, secure your tickets, mark your calendar, and be ready to arrive early.  Be prepared for a riveting speech by Doc Thompson who has a lot of stories to tell about the fight for freedom and the cost of that fight.  It will be an evening that will resonate for many years, and start a new trend in Cincinnati dedicated to the very, very few who reject the current philosophy of political order in favor of a new philosophy that embraces real freedom for only the third time in world history.

Miguel’s Pizza at Red River Gorge: The best pizza I never had a chance to taste

IMG_8640 PART 2When we celebrate birthdays we are celebrating the joys of life.  The whole point of any kind of birthday ritual is the act of acknowledging the value of life and the direct impact that life has on others who share your values.  Usually, this comes from family, who are attuned to the peculiarities of an individual’s value.  This was exactly the situation when my family elected to celebrate my 45th birthday in the rugged mountains of Red River Gorge.  My wife organized a day when my two daughters and their husbands could free themselves up at the same time to go rappelling with us on a journey to one of my favorite lands of adventure.  Before leaving, my wife stayed up late well after I had gone to bed and finished prior to my 4 AM wake up baking me a cake which she presented to me at the peak of Chimney Rock.  The road to Chimney Rock was rugged, featuring a 5 mile dirt road after a 4 mile paved stretch located at the entrance.  It is the only way to arrive at Chimney Rock unless of course a climber scaled up the side.  The presentation of the cake in such a place was unique and a nice touch by my family, which can be seen in the video below.

Among the many adventures and miles of hiking we did on this trip, it was my daughter and her husband who coaxed me into visiting Miguel’s pizza joint just down the road from the entrance to Natural Bridge.  As they suggested the meal I found myself between a rock and a hard place.  They were very adamant about wanting to take me there because they figured I would appreciate the style of the pizza place.  However, my wife had worked very hard to pack a wonderful meal that we planned to eat in picnic fashion.  The Miguel’s idea was something that my kids came up with spontaneously and upon hearing it, I was skeptical.  I was very concerned that I would not like the experience because Miguel’s pizza place looks like the dream of a deranged hippie.  The building is way too small, it’s bright yellow, only has one bathroom, and most of the dining room is outside the building scattered among beat up picnic tables and well-worn dirt void of any grass.  But most noticeable of all is the bizarre artwork that is displayed all over the building which looks like it belongs to an old “flower child.”  But after some urging, my daughter had talked me into it, so after celebrating my birthday on top of Chimney Rock, we headed to Miguel’s across the valley nearly an hour away.

IMG_8764Rock climbers from all over the world come to Red River Gorge, and their absolutely favorite place to dine is Miguel’s.  There isn’t even a close second.  Miguel’s in the rock climbing world is a Holy Place.  The owner of Miguel’s is Miguel Ventura from Portugal.  He describes himself as a pizza maker, an artist, a family man, and social servant.  Ventura, now aged 56 bought himself a slice of backwoods real estate in 1984, opening the Rainbow Door, an ice-cream shop the next year catering to the handful of climbers in the area. Now, 24 years later he slings pizza and climbing gear instead which is sold in the store with the pizzas.  On a busy spring or fall weekend there are upwards of 80 tents in his campground out back. (Miguel’s wife, Susan, and three kids, Dario, Sarah, and Mark, help run the bustling business.) Miguel makes large wood carvings, also, and if you’ve eaten his pizza, you’ve eaten from his garden.

The Red River Gorge area is not a heavily populated area.  In fact, the area of Slade, Kentucky is considered remote.  So I was slightly stunned to see that the parking lot to Miguel’s was so large for such a small building, and it was full with cars belonging to adventurers from all over the world.  Naturally, the small restaurant never planned to hold every customer inside the little yellow shack, so there are tables set up haphazardly all around the building.  Behind the structure a basement was discovered which had additional seating and a small game room.  Directly behind Miguel’s was a large patio area for additional seating.  At these picnic tables were a wild array of climbers and campers cooking food of their own on Colman stoves and other propane driven portable units.

While we waited in line, I watched the employees rush around attempting to serve everyone.  There was a sense of urgency that was strangely calm.  In many ways, the place reminded me of all the reasons I love Key West, which I spoke about in a recent article.  CLICK HERE FOR REVIEW. After the climate of the place sunk in for me, the kitchen reported that everyone in line, which went out the door, were out of luck.  They had run out of food.  They couldn’t make one more pizza.  All they had left in the kitchen were three sandwiches.  Once we elected to leave and return some other day, the people behind us bought up the remainder of the kitchen’s offerings.   Looking into the kitchen one name came to my mind, Hugh Akston from the novel Atlas Shrugged.  Miguel’s Pizza restaurant nestled in the mountains of Kentucky reminded me of the small café where Hugh Akston worked as a cook in that famous fictional novel.   Akston was the college philosophy instructor of the three main characters in Atlas Shrugged and it was clear that Miguel Ventura had a quality of mind that has only been attempted in any novel the human mind has ever produced but Atlas Shrugged, and maybe The Fountainhead.

It was for this reason that my kids wanted to take me to Miguel’s Pizza.  Even though many of the visitors to the restaurant might find themselves repulsed through social conditioning to the concepts of Atlas Shrugged and Miguel himself clearly sees himself as a public servant, which is not how characters from the novel see themselves, there was a quality to the food and the place in general that was so exceptional that it has become a thriving world-wide business.  My kids wanted me to see first hand the thriving success of such a national treasure.  Miguel’s is the perfect example of how magical capitalism is.  Miguel from another country was able to move to the mountains of Kentucky where consumer traffic is about as poor as anywhere in the world, and build a thriving business because his product was superior.  In such a place if everyone had the ability to open a pizza place near Natural Bridge State Park and generate the kind of business Miguel does, they would.  Many have tried, and many have failed.  The fact that Miguel has succeed where others have fallen short speaks specifically to the kind of definitions attributed to the classic novel Atlas Shrugged–such examples that are so clear to the human eye and obvious no matter what their political affiliation is are not easy to find.  This was the gift my children wanted to give me for my birthday—an example of quality and capitalism that is unique and obvious defying confusing ideologies.

Because Miguel’s ran out of pizza, we packed up and left, going down the road to Natural Bridge State Park to have the fabulous meal that my wife prepared for us after.  We had the picnic area to ourselves which is how I like it, so we were able to enjoy a wonderful spring evening in the mountains discussing the philosophic reason that Miguel’s was such a successful enterprise.  We had hiked a lot, repelled a lot, climbed a lot, drove a lot and we were so hungry that the food my wife packed tasted like it came from a 5 star restaurant.  IMG_8656The cake on the mountaintop was something that I will never forget.  But intellectually, my trip to Miguel’s for some of their famously fresh pizza was the best event of the day.  Even though all I was able to do was smell their pizza from the kitchen, witnessing their success in the deep mountains of Kentucky was the best present I could have received, because it was an example of my foundation beliefs which I constantly preach about to my family.  This was why my kids were so obsessed with their desire to take me to a small yellow shack covered with hippie imagery, featuring a small unisex bathroom that was so small I had to duck my head to enter, a dining room stuffed with dirty, sweaty visitors and a sea of dust-covered cars parked outside with clientele that would look more at home at a Grateful Dead concert.  My children’s present to me was in showing how the heartbeat of capitalism beats hardest and fastest where government is GONE, and the rules are kept to a bare minimum.  If Miguel’s had tried to locate in any city, or township filled with looting politicians, they would have been put out of business years ago.  Yet, because of where it is, Miguel’s is one of the greatest, and most pure examples of lassie fair capitalism that could have been presented to me, and that is the kind of birthday present my children know to give me when the years become filled with wisdom, and the spontaneity of youth becomes more of an inconvenience.  Seeing Miguel’s run out of food due to too much business when the world outside of the Red River Gorge area is struggling under the red tape of government regulation made my dinner at Miguel’s Pizza the best pizza that I have never had the opportunity to eat.

The U.N. International Arms Treaty: Meet the Smith & Wesson .500 Magnum

UNITED NATIONS — The U.N. General Assembly voted overwhelmingly on April 2nd 2013  to create the first treaty regulating the international arms trade, a landmark decision that imposes new constraints on the sale of conventional arms to governments and armed groups that commit war crimes, genocide and other mass atrocities which sounds delightful from a distance.

The vote was hailed by arms-control advocates and scores of governments, including the United States, as a major step in the global effort to put in place basic controls on the $70 billion international arms trade. But the treaty was denounced by Iran, North Korea and Syria, which maintain that it imposes restrictions that prevent smaller states from buying and selling weapons to ensure their self-defense.

In short, the new United Nations treaty is step one in an international gun ban intended to spread across the world to disarm private citizens under the guise of the generally agreed upon measures of preventing the sale of conventional arms to governments or terrorist groups.  The treaty is simply lip service as even The United States will violate the treaty within moments of having signed it.  After all, these types of events are precisely what led to the arms debacle occurring under the Obama White House with Fast and Furious and apparently the Benghazi tragedy – so even the largest supporters of this new United Nations Treaty will openly break the terms then lie about it later leaving the only conclusion about the treaty intentions to be revealed, the actual intent of the United Nations is not to regulate the sale of firearms to hostile groups, but to establish in the mind of the world that 1. The United Nations is a powerful group with global influence, and 2. That citizens all over the world will find they can be brought together on common ground to take steps of disarmament surrendering their personal sovereignty to the “wisdom” of global government.  Such an audacious declaration from The United Nations justifies a response, and for me it comes in the video below.  I would like to introduce The United Nations to my good friend the Smith & Wesson .500 Magnum, the most powerful production revolver in the entire world.  It delivers an astonishing 2600 ft/lb of muzzle energy and has enough kick upon firing to dislocate a shoulder by the sheer power.  The gun is designed to stop elephants while on safari and can be effectively used to hunt the largest of big game animals, but more than that it is a wonderful self-defense weapon for protecting private property, should the tragic circumstances ever arrive.  The .500 Magnum can split the body of an attacker in two if wad cutters are used, and disable a get-a-way car by penetrating the engine block with a well placed shot into the valve assembly.  The bullets are so big they can sheer away the lug nuts that hold a tire to an axel making a rolling car’s wheels pop off upon impact leaving the escapees sitting ducks awaiting justice.  I would bet that not a single one of the pin heads who make up the United Nations General Assembly could fire the .500 Magnum with only one hand and hit a target square in the heart like I do in the video below, and it is due to their lack of skill, strength and logic that is the real motive behind their desire to ban firearms in the world is revealed.

None of the U.N. Assembly members would disclose in the light of day without the benefit of drunkenness their desire to ban firearms in the world is because they wish to be the governing force the world bows to, yet their actions deceive their intentions.  They know that so long as people like me have access to .500 Magnums that no military force, no policing force, or authority on Earth could force me into compliance to their socialist leaning tendencies.  So they must remove such tools from human civilization so that they can implement their further plans of global conquest.

For anyone who has read Agenda 21 which is a United Nations program, global control is clearly the intention even if Ambassadors reading this are saying to themselves that they have no such global desires.  The trouble with The United Nations is that they are a collective group driven by a force that is difficult to put the mind around.  CLICK HERE TO READ ABOUT “THE NOTHING.”  Generally such motives where collective organizations attempt to dominate the minds of individuals would be called evil, but it’s much deeper than that.   For instance, even as The United States signs such a treaty and the U.N. General Assembly pats themselves on the back for gaining the support of America even with the staunch support of the country’s Second Constitutional Amendment, arms trade is being conducted presently with shady governments hoping to topple rebellions, appease terrorist organizations, or set off gun violence so that the world will join together in solidarity against gun violence with cleverly disguised “false flags.”   So the United Nations treaty means nothing to the governments involved as they will continue to break such treaties as it suits them.

In The United States this is why we have a Second Amendment, because it keeps governments from packing up in a Humvee and showing up on our doorsteps to arrest rebels who plot against United Nation mandates, fight Common Core implementation of socialism into schools driving a “Global Marketplace,” or desire to protect their private property which a vast majority of the United Nations General Assembly desires to banish from human practice so that Mother Earth can live fruitfully till the sun eventually blots out destroying the planet in roughly 500 billion years.   When guns are taken from private citizens, they have no defense when organized governments decide they wish to grab power for themselves, and global governments like what the United Nations is attempting to become will not be tolerated by me in the United States due to this hidden intention.  The United Nations will never declare that they wish such things as a strong central government in charge of everything.  They simply wish to believe that they are making the world safer, just like the school teacher wishes to believe they are making children “better,” in American schools.  But the reality is that they are all servants to the evils of collectivism and nothing more.  The byproduct of collectivism is personal tyranny.

That is why in America every home should have their own .500 Magnum.  Ideally every household would have at least one human being under its roof that could fire the weapon one-handed, because such strength is needed to protect families from the perils of evil which do reside in the minds of man.  Such a threat is the only governing force that works in a civilized society, something the global academics have been terribly naive in understanding.  They believe falsely that words on a paper will change the course of evil, but it has only fed it throughout history.  Academics believe falsely that if they construct one more paragraph of legislation that evil will be banished from the Earth forever, but what they miss is that such evils grow with every legislative word constructed in the minds of a bureaucrat.

The truth is easy to see when visiting a gun range like Target World in Cincinnati, Ohio which is where I was in the video above holding the most powerful handgun in the world.  With the gun it is realized that even aircraft could be brought down with such a weapon and drones would have no chance if spotted.  The .500 caliber bullet could shatter such aerial surveillance with one shot because of the extreme size of the ammunition.  Upon that understanding, the mind is brought to peace as it is realized that those who hold a .500 Magnum in their hands and have learned to use it have nothing to fear from any assailant in the world, and that is freedom from tyranny—even the tyranny brought on by good intentions from pin heads and bureaucrats.  It is also realized that the true intentions behind the gun bans advocated particularly among socialist leaning politicians is that they are physically and mentally weak human beings to start with, and hope that they can be made to rule over the strong with the stroke of a pen, or new law built behind collective ambition.  The .500 Magnum would shatter the arm of the frail boned weaklings who make up the United Nations General Assembly, so they are naturally terrified of such weapons—and they should be, because they have the power to call armies to their disposal and put down rebels who stand against their Common Core education proposals and Agenda 21 schemes.  So for people like me, the .500 Magnum is the great equalizer.  I know as long as I have it that no government in the world even through collective force can organize against my property and my rights to protect my family.  I would never surrender such a task to the bureaucrats of The United Nations, The United States or even my local police department.  Instead, I entrust that task to my own two hands and the awesome power of the .500 Magnum which can decapitate an attacker upon demand.  It is within the 2600 ft/lb of muzzle energy produced by the Smith & Wesson .500 Magnum that freedom thrives, and the sovereignty of The United States can continue on into the next centuries well beyond the twenty-first.  The .500 Magnum is the tool with which freedom is obtained from the academic intentions of the dainty minded United Nations politician and their naive world view reflected in appalling constructs such as their first treaty regulating the international arms trade which is step one in a global gun ban they hope to enact within the next three decades.  With that in mind, please get to know my friend, the .500 Magnum.  And if I were you, I’d become intimately familiar and make friends with your own so that together the aims of The United Nations can be beaten back into submission from their intentions to rule over the affairs of life in America and every household within its borders.

The ‘Cold Dead Hand’ Video From Lost Thoughtless Brains: Hypocritical ideas from those “comfortably numb”

The Jim Carrey satire against Charlton Heston, southern culture, and the Second Amendment titled Cold Dead Hands is a blessing in disguise for those of us on the more conservative side of politics.  It is good to see the mind of opponents for what they truly are without the public relations facades that often conceal the true activist nature of the subject in question.  The radical goof balls on the left expect conservatives to take it when they dish out character assassinations, but they don’t expect it in return.  In Carrey’s case he took a shot at a majority of America and their love of freedom guaranteed by The Second Amendment.  The public knows Carrey has made a living off violence in his films, namely his use of guns in the film The Mask and a film career that really got off the ground when he appeared as a drug addict in the fifth Dirty Harry film with Clint Eastwood titled The Dead Pool.  Guns have been good to Carrey, and watching him turn against them speaks openly about the hypocrisy of the left and the current culture of progressive Hollywood and the types of things they believe.  The left will never attack Carrey’s radicalism shown in his video or the disgraceful rendition of asserting that Charlton Heston is trapped in some eternal purgatory because he is still holding onto his guns.  Even when progressive leftists attack members of the conservative right, the right is attacked even further when they express outrage.

Over the last couple of days I received two emails from people who frequently read my work here at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom and took note of some of my recent articles where I expressed outrage of my own.  In both cases, they feel that indignation on my part is misplaced—and uncivilized, and that I should just suppress my thoughts for the ridiculous common good.  Here are those emails along with my response.

I told you I am done with public education.  I see them as a threat to our next generations because of the left leaning tendency of what they teach.  If there were more balanced world views, I’d feel differently.  But that’s not the case.  Profit based strategies need to be the future of education as it tends to root out the good from the bad.

Since people have the memory span of paper clips, I have to remind them of the Kroger Survey for context.  You are likely to see and read it at least 100 to 200 more times in the months to come.  That was my bench mark of the type of people who support public education where I realized who supported the education system as it is and why.

You seem to ignore the comments of Becki in the Kelly Kohls incident.  You pick what you want and paint things up the way you wish them to be.  I don’t like to see people pushed around, and I see that happening a lot in public education from employees who forget that the tax payers are their boss.

Kelly or anybody else has their choice whether to align themselves with me.  Obviously you are used to dealing with other types of people, because I don’t have a shortage who wish to do so.

You can speculate on my aims, but you can bet that there is a reason for everything.

Thanks for writing and showing me your mind.  There is a lot there; I can understand your frustration.

There are a lot more of those types of emails, but they happen to have come through within a short time of each other the other day while I was thinking about the Jim Carrey video.  They are derived from the same kind of culture where the progressive left steps up and punches the conservative right in the face then runs off not expecting to be hit back.  In the case of those emails when I am called derogatory names, or a union representative uses the word “war” to describe their plight against the tax payer it makes me angry, and I direct the anger where appropriate.

The Carrey video and the video above where progressive analysis is given praising the anti gun message, the commentator is happy and dancing on the grave of Charlton Heston because Carrey represents the progressive beliefs of that particular pundit.  So it is only fair that those of us with conservative beliefs do the same when necessary and beat on the war drums ourselves when provoked.  In that regard it is healthy to give progressives back what they dish out and then some, to teach them that it is not appropriate to use force, or coercion of any kind to advance a political agenda, which is what progressives are adamantly committed to.  However it is not my fault that the generations before me who happened to be conservative were as Jason Ibanez declared above, allowing progressive to punch them without getting it back.  Those days are over.

Jim Carrey probably does believe what he says about The Second Amendment.  He does not connect the dots of his career with the rights of the First Amendment to play characters that speak out of his butt (literally) and to use guns like he did in The Mask to boost his career.    The Hollywood culture which has been consumed by progressive Democrats, just as Ayn Rand warned about with Walt Disney and many others (CLICK HERE TO SEE FOR YOURSELF) is awash in hypocrisy in much the same way that public education believes they are on the moral side of goodness by teaching forced collectivism and anti-private property instruction against community tax payers.  Most of the time the activists like the two email writers above, or Jim Carrey in his attack against the image of Charlton Heston fail to see how their actions in the microcosm are shaped by events in the macrocosm.  They only look at their small piece of the pie and expect all of society to adhere to their viewpoint even if the cost is a loss of personal freedom, Constitutional revision, or the destruction of a movie legend’s memory.

When Hollywood attacks itself, as Carrey is doing against the recollection of Heston, the battle lines are clear.  The difference is that now conservatives have learned that taking the abuse and mockery from the progressive left will not be tolerated.  Carrey may not see the immediate impact of his actions against his next couple of films, but he has changed the way people see him.  Before this incident I was a fan of his.  I doubt I’ll ever watch another one of his films just as I haven’t seen a George Clooney film in about 10 years.  I cannot watch those types of actors anymore knowing that they stand against the personal beliefs that I have, and when they remind me of it in such a glorious fashion, they dig their own grave—because I’m not alone.  Many people think the way I do; they just don’t speak their thoughts.  And if I didn’t know that, I wouldn’t even bother with this site.

The flyover states that Jim Carrey insulted in his video made him the star that he is today and those people will reject Carrey in the future.  It will have an impact on his box office totals.  Jim Carrey has successfully taken himself as an A List actor and put himself in the mind of America as an activist equivalent to Sean Penn, an actor that is impossible to watch without thinking of his communist oriented politics.  For the same reason, Jane Fonda will always and forever be known as Hanoi Jane because of her support of communists in North Vietnam—no matter what she may have done in the rest of her life from playing in On Golden Pond with her father, to her workout tapes.   In the history of her legacy, she will always be known as a communist, which most Americans reject when the word is not hidden behind the mask of progressivism.  70 percent of Americans have a genuine mistrust of government.  About 20% of those people are willing to overlook that mistrust because government pays their paycheck—and pays them quite well to remain “comfortably numb.”  Because the government cannot be trusted, The Second Amendment will always be needed in case the tragic worst case scenario should ever reoccur, which is another American Revolution.  The Second Amendment is not for hunting, or target shooting, it is for warding off the government if government imposes itself too arrogantly upon the personal liberty and freedoms of the American people.  It’s a unique concept in the world, and progressives in love with Europe find it appalling.  In Hollywood where European culture is so revered and noticeably out of step with the rest of the country, Jim Carrey is just another activist showing off for his liberal friends so he can stay relevant.  But in so doing he created his own legacy that he will come to regret.  He won’t be known as the actor for the Truman Show, or even Ace Ventura.  Rather, he’ll be known as the progressive stooge who danced on the grave of a Hollywood legend and took aim at the heart of America with a blind attempt to appease the extreme minority in Hollywood who holds the purse strings of the Hollywood money machine.   In the end, Carrey will wish that he had said something as bold as Charlton Heston did, and that some future loser would attempt mock him in death with a song titled Cold Dead Hand, because when Carrey is no longer on earth, it will go as un-noticed as a fart lost in the wind of a career built of childish jokes and frail beliefs.


That is the legacy of Jim Carrey, throw him a fish–he’ll perform.

Secret Service Alien Program Cut Due to Sequestration: The outrageously overpaid federal employee

When The White House addressed last week the conspiracy theory accusations that a member of the President’s Secret Service detail was a shape shifting being of some alien race, which should easily have been explained away be saying the agent was a burn victim, or some other reasonable explanation, the radicals at The White House used the same methods of drama as we see in typical public education strategies where higher taxes are the aim.    For those curious to see the video for yourself, it can be seen by CLICKING HERE.  It says a lot about the Obama White House when people are looking so far into conspiracy in order to discover the truth behind this modern American president.  Even so, the response by The White House regarding the footage of the strange Secret Service agent prompted this response:

The White House dismissed the alien bodyguards as too costly in this era of budgetary austerity. “I can’t confirm the claims made in this video, but any alleged program to guard the president with aliens or robots would likely have to be scaled back or eliminated in the sequester,” Caitlin Hayden, the chief spokeswoman for the National Security Council, e-mails Danger Room. “I’d refer you to the Secret Service or Area 51 for more details.”

Obviously a smart assed answer in response to a hoard of speculative theories thrown in Obama’s direction, but the attempt to connect it to the sequester cuts is particularly telling.  For those who have been mystified in the past when public schools have illogically cut busing from children and made sports programs pay for play along with other extortive measures it is even more interesting to see the exact same types of strategies utilized in regard to the sequester cuts.  The sequester at the federal level amounts to nothing in regard to the debt or deficit in America. CLICK HERE FOR PERSPECTIVE.  The cuts coming from it are hardly a blip on the radar, yet it has soaked up nearly all the talk by big government supporters who are kicking and screaming about the very minor cuts in nearly an identical fashion that public schools use to wrestle more tax money off the backs of property owners.  CLICK HERE to review my personal situation at Lakota where the public school in my district cut busing after their second levy defeat.

The White House in response to the sequester cuts has been toying with other highly visible social inconvenience measures so to convince the public that they need tax increases to keep the government growing, just like public schools do.  Isn’t that amazing?  It never occurred to anybody that the federal worker may be making too much money, which currently stands at a $130,000 average in compensation.  Instead The White House chose to cut self-guided tours in The White House itself taking a page out of the book of Saul Alinsky to manipulate the public with nuisance, stating:

“Due to staffing reductions resulting from sequestration, we regret to inform you that White House Tours will be canceled effective Saturday, March 9, 2013 until further notice. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule affected tours,” the White House said in an email.

These strategies are endemic with anything involving government.  The employees of government cannot be trusted to manage their affairs properly and if left alone, they chose to give themselves outrageous raises off the public dime.  There are very few jobs in the federal government worth six figures, yet it’s the average.  It is no wonder that the Washington D.C. area is one of the richest in the world as far as real estate values.  Its entire economy is built off the looted money of the American tax payer for jobs that have little, if any value.  When it comes time to engage in management of their financial resources as is customary in anything involving payroll, the federal government chooses to cut White House tours, blame Marine accidents on lack of funding, and even jokes that the Alien Secret Service program has been cut because tax payers don’t want to fork over any more money.

The compensation level with all government positions is never analyzed, just as they aren’t in public schools.  It is just assumed that wage levels will never be an issue.  No wonder so many people are willing to work for big government, and support big government politicians—because the pay is so outrageously high.  There are no management mechanisms in place to keep the wage levels reasonable in government because virtually everyone is ripping off the system.   And when they get caught, they chose radicalism over logic as seen in the belly aching over sequestration cuts.  The behavioral characteristics are common from the local school all the way to The White House and at every level in between.

Why should any American have to pay for sports fees at their school because teachers refuse to have a “normal” salary?  Why should Americans have to be denied access to their house because Secret Service agents had to be cut due to sequester?  With the tax rates that Americans currently pay for virtually everything why should it be acceptable to ask for more money so that an average compensation package of $130,000 can be maintained for federal employees?  Yet, it is expected by all members of government from the school teacher to the President himself, that taxes should be raised so that federal workers can continue to live in a fantasy land of employment compensation where they almost always tend to vote in a representative republic for the elected candidate who supports more government expansion, higher wages for meaningless jobs, and will cancel the alien Secret Service details before asking overpaid federal workers to take a hair cut of 30% to 50% of their compensation packages to bring the value of their jobs back to reality.

The very fact that the government doesn’t expect to be managed says everything.  They expect run away budgets and tax increases to constantly flow in their direction as though the American people should live in slavery to the level of comfort the federal employee enjoys.  And when taxes are not increased and cuts are demanded, like children the first thing the government does is attempt to close National Parks, White House tours and training supplies to soldiers in the same fashion that public schools cut sports, busing, and band electives.  All government workers are using the same radical handbook to make their case for outrageous salaries, and ever-growing government with no accountability at all to reality.  And they expect it audaciously by making jokes as though everyone outside the Beltway should understand.  Instead of offering a reasonable explanation for the alien looking agent discussed The White House chose to make fun of those who were left to speculation, and blamed their explanation on the sequestration not wasting even that opportunity to promote their radical behavior.  The situation we are left with is a dire one, where the eventual management that must come will be painful as Americans appear to have finally hit their limit leaving the greedy federal employees who have never been told “NO” to wonder what to do next, as their lives have been constructed upon an eroding beach and their jobs are in a sand castle that is being whipped about by an encroaching tide.  By the time the tide recedes, there won’t be much left standing so the pain for the federal worker is just getting under way.  The scam is no longer working……………thankfully.  But the time for painless management of tax payer resources has already passed when the first thing that goes are things the public truly values teaching them to despise the entire system, like what has been happening in public education all across the country as those thresholds have been reached.
