On a previous article that I did on this topic there is video of the Tri-State Warbird Museum firing up its big Allison 1,12 hp 12 cylinder V-1710 engine. My wife and I had the privilege of being inside this aircraft early in its restoration, and it is delightful to see it completed and functional. Of the 13,738 P-40’s of all variants produced between 1938 and 1944 only around 85 exist today—one at Wright Patterson and one at the Tri-State Warbird Museum. I am so proud to live within 40 minutes of those two famous planes.
When General Stilwell came to China where Claire Chennault was the proven authority—yet outranked the Flying Tiger leader, the expectation was one where Chennault was expected to bow to authority and respect the chain of command, which of course didn’t happen. If Stilwell had his way America would have lost in China and Japan would have occupied and dominated Asia. When Chennault was called from China at the end of the war it was then that communists overtook the country. Chennault wanted to stay and fight the communists after the Japanese were defeated but American command wouldn’t allow it—and their folly cost America its soul from the Korean War to present. Of course the Soviet Union was pushing the Vietnam War advancing communism which was overtaking all of Asia and was also feeding the counter-culture movement at American schools through KGB subversive penetration. The “hippie” was a KGB creation and they are largely forming American foreign and domestic policy to this very day as they are now of age to be in senior management positions. The pinnacle mistake that sent America on a downward spiral was when the defiance of Chennault was removed and the bureaucrats got their way. That is when the problems started for The United States. The key to American success is in defiance. When that defiance is suppressed, America is just as worthless as every nation that does exactly what they are told by pinheaded fools and worthless politicians.
In the 1986 film Heartbreak Ridge by Clint Eastwood the film opens with his character in trouble with the law—particularly for urinating on a police car. This is to establish that Eastwood’s character is defiant, and something that American movie audiences can relate with. In that film, Eastwood was essentially playing a variation to the kind of leader the real life Claire Lee Chennault was. For a long time I wanted to write a novel about The Flying Tigers and have Eastwood play the role, but he’s too old now, and I am still working out the story details. I don’t want to just write another World War II novel, I want to explore this theme of American defiance as the most important ingredient. I would say that defiance is as important to American success as sugar is to cookies—it is a must have.
The rest of the world struggles because they are too structured, too compliant, and too obedient to worthless bureaucrats. The reason that communism, socialism and every big government attempt does not work, is because institutional systems produce too many people like General Stilwell and not enough like General Chennault. If General Patton had done as his superiors had instructed him to do, World War II would have been lost in Europe. Britain, France, and all of Africa would have been dominated by the Italians and Germans. It was Patton’s defiance that made him great, not his ability to follow orders.
In American music we like our artists defiant to the rules—that is because it is deeply inherit to the American psyche. We do not admire compliance. American heroes are not good soldiers who go down with the ship of sacrifice—but the ones who bark back at their chain of command and do what they think is right as individuals, not cogs in the wheel of society. There are a lot of competing ideals floating around which confuse the issue, but for me it is quite clear whenever I see a P-40 Curtiss-Wright airplane what the key to American success was, and continues to be. It is defiance like that of the Flying Tigers who were terribly outnumbered, and up against superior airplanes to paint that gaping mouth on the front of their planes to represent the swagger of American ingenuity, and defiance. The Japanese would have never done anything like that to the planes of the Emperor. German pilots would have never conceived of defacing the planes of Das Führer. And even American pilots under Stilwell would have been frowned upon if Chennault had not let his men express themselves creatively before his arrival. Chennault had set a standard that carried over into just about every branch of service for the next 60 years, as orthodox military generals frowned upon it.
I have told many stories about the original Pirates of the Caribbean led by Henry Morgan, another personal favorite of mine. The privateers in early Jamaica were really no different from the Flying Tigers of China, the Henry Morgan pirates were essentially hired guns by the English Crown to prevent Spain and France from acquiring too much Aztec gold. Morgan let his men be as free as possible and the results were staggering. America was born on Morgan pirate vessels as Thomas Paine observed the antics first-hand and how much gold the King of England received from Morgan’s adventures. The key again was in defiance. The real Pirates of the Caribbean were so bold, and able to win against impossible odds because they were fighting for profit, and spitting in the eye of compliance.
I love the Flying Tigers and specifically the P-40 airplanes they used, because it is the most obvious example of why capitalism, defiance and free thinking destroy the rigid chain of command adhered to by the rest of the world. There have been other successes since—many, and they all share an element of pushing against authority, not yielding to it. Statistically, there isn’t any real evidence that any other way of thinking but that of the American is successful time and time again. It is the only proven method of achievement that has a real track record of success. So the million dollar question, or otherwise, the $17 trillion, which is the current U.S. debt, is why would America copy off the rest of the world’s stupid submission to authority—because time and time again those authorities are corrupted with human error and not qualified to make the best decisions at the best times? Why do we teach our children to follow orders, when they should be taught to give them?
Why would we teach blind submission to compliance when history proves that is the quickest way to personal and national destruction? And why would we teach military generals to be more like Stilwell when they should be more like Patton and Chennault? The answer is that we shouldn’t. We need to rethink our entire thought process in America and start with following what works, while setting to drift that which doesn’t. Compliance to authority will not take anybody where they need to go and this needs to be embraced openly for the first time in American history instead of around the edges of our movies and music. It is time that our schools teach defiance, our colleges teach conservative capitalism, and our businesses seek the renegade manager who wears business suits without soaks and has no interest in being in charge—except for the freedom to execute their individual visions and follow their blissful passions to the ends of the earth running over all the opposition that gets in their way. It is time to admit that this is what it means to be an American, and to embrace it fully for the first time without the shameful judgments by the idiots who run the rest of the world.
The same thuggish intentions which those officers displayed against Lewis are now being applied to their boss, George Lang, only this time without the police batons and “chemical irritants.” Instead, the cops are using the legal system to attempt to beat Lang into submission. The situation is just as ridiculous as a French labor union suing Goodyear for wanting to leave France over their unproductive workers—who only work 3 hours a day, the West Chester Police expect financial compensation, promotions, and community merit even when they exhibited errors in judgment. The West Chester Officers actually expected to be promoted, compensated financially and treated with respect after their disastrous mistake—which is laughably out-of-touch with reality.
Lang presented the reasons for the $265,000 settlement publicly. The lawsuit against him contends that Lang slandered the officers when he let it be known that the officers were “bragging about the beating back at the patrol room,” that the victim was taken to the hospital with severe injuries and that his face was very puffy and bloody—as if that fact could not be verified by the doctor who attended Lewis. The suit maintains all those statements were false and caused the officers to lose an opportunity for promotion. The township has not yet filed a response to the lawsuit alleging defamation, slander, “tortious” interference with a business relationship, intentional infliction of emotional distress and civil conspiracy. (Tortious interference, also known as intentional interference with contractual relations, in the common law of torts, occurs when a person intentionally damages the plaintiff‘s contractual or other business relationships. This tort is broadly divided into two categories, one specific to contractual relationships irrespective of whether they involve business), and the other specific to business relationships or activities (irrespective of whether they involve a contract).
In other words, the West Chester Police want to teach Lang a lesson for breaking ranks with them and are seeking to punish him with any means available. It wouldn’t look good to attack Lang with batons, as they did Jeremy Lewis so they are using the legal system instead. This is a long time tactic by labor unions to teach governing officials such as their bosses to shut their mouth. In this case, the West Chester Police conducted an internal investigation which essentially states that the training the officers received were in accordance with policy and that the beating was justified leaving the officers innocent. That is just as ridiculous as the many times Lakota teachers have been caught trying to have sex with students, or flirting with students only to be protected by the union with virtually no punishment—because the school board doesn’t want to get sued by the union—so they let the actions go without discipline. The same situation applies in this police case against Lang. The reason these crimes by public employees happen is because these unionized government employees believe they are above the law and exempt from ramifications for their bad decisions. In the case of Lang, he is the first public person in a long time to actually stand up to them—and the police are acting violently toward him as a result.
Nobody can ever know what really gets said behind closed doors, and when gangs of thugs get together and whisper off the record about things, they expect that those things cannot be used against them in court—because unless there is a recording, or it is written down—then it cannot be presented as evidence in court. Police unions because they control the legal process—at least the public interpretation of it–believe they have all their loose ends tied up in this case against Lang and that they have a right to attempt to ruin his life for standing up against them.
But there is always more to the story which will not come out in court—most likely. Lang as a trustee has voted against the mindless pay increases the FOP union wants out of West Chester, where the officers are already some of the most highly paid cops in this part of the country. If a bet had to be made in what the real motivation behind this lawsuit was, it would be that Lang would be discouraged to stand against future labor negotiations with the FOP union. The cops are using this law suit as a way to soften him up—to remove his opposition toward their upcoming contract negotiations. Most likely, this lawsuit has nothing to do with what the cops are saying it is—but rather its all about their contract. CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW MUCH THESE OFFICERS MAKE. The police are simply acting like a band of thugs who are above the law. Their behavior against Jeremy Lewis is obvious. But their behavior against their boss, George Lang is even more so—when the totality of the story is known. Whether the weapon is a police baton or the legal system the goal is suppression of the truth and the desire to inflict the desires of the Fraternal Order of Police upon a society of victims living in fear underneath their tyranny. If such desires are left unchecked, the situation will spiral out of control. This is why we must all stand with George Lang. If he goes down, we will all go down and the police will turn on private citizens like they did Jeremy Lewis in less than a moment. This lawsuit is about power and control and who really has it—and by the evidence presented by the West Chester Police against Lewis and now against Lang their lust for power is undeniable.
I feel sorry for people who feel this way. The reviewer simply can’t relate. They have no concept of having the kind of passion for something where sleep, rest and comfort are secondary concerns. They don’t feel those kinds of things, so they think good characters are the type of people who strive to have faults, where they work simply to eat, drink, rest, and have sex. People like that are like monkeys at a zoo looking at human visitors across a gulf of intelligence, beyond the barriers of a cage, and can’t understand why zoo visitors have drinks, and strollers, and small humans in their arms with sunglasses shielding their eyes from the sun. They are primitives, sad and left behind lost forever to faulty thinking and stupidity.
That was a comment I made to an article published on Atlas Shrugged is a Ridiculous Book posted in the Galt’s Gulch site where I have quite a few friends. I read the review linked below and thought that the author Robert Nielsen did a good job citing his opinions, that he did thoroughly read the book and made an effort to have pointed comments. I thought the author was a generally curious person of above average intelligence. However, I also thought that the author might be a radical left winged oriented socialist (Democrat) who was a staunch Keynesian and after looking into the guy a bit, that is exactly what he was. He was a European born and raised amidst the socialism of Europe and simply had no mental mechanisms that could relate to the novel Atlas Shrugged and believed that through democratic consensus that just because a majority of the population on earth does not think like the characters in Atlas Shrugged, that the book is ridiculous and should not have an audience. Nielsen had a number of opinionated passages in his article, but the one below struck me as being the most revealing.
“All of the heroes have this absurd element to them. They don’t stop to eat or rest a single time in the book and it is casually thrown in that they haven’t slept for two or three days as though that would have no effect on them. They have no hobbies or interested (sic) outside work. Even when they are bleeding they don’t feel any pain. In other words they are soulless robots, machines good for working and nothing else. Atlas Shrugged bears a strong resemblance to Fascist propaganda in its treatment of heroes. There is a strong emphasis on the cult of personality, of worshipping men of action in contrast to the masses who are too stupid and cowardly to achieve greatness. Democracy destroys accountability whereas dictatorship is the only system where anyone is responsible. All of the best firms in the book are named after their owner and collapse without them.”
Nielsen says a lot here and represents a large portion of the world who have grown up for generations under kings, princes, fascist rulers, and tyrannical dictators who to them represent the “right” on a political spectrum and democratic socialists, communists, labor unions, and religious collectivists on the other representing the “left.” Yet for me personally, I don’t even consider any of the categories on that scale relevant and long ago designated Europe and its history to be corrosive to the human experience. My ideal of a good time is not sitting in a “pub” with my mates watching a socialist soccer game and thinking that James Joyce was an intellectual giant as the benchmark of good literature. The guy could write complicated metaphors—but to what end—to be haunted by dreams of a fragmented past as in Finnegan’s Wake or to visit a brothel in Ulysses. Nielsen is from Dublin, and so was Joyce and because of my experience with those works, I feel I have a pretty good feel for life in Ireland and what it represents—and none of those things are concepts that are attractive to me.
I find it utterly disgusting that so many Americans have been bred through the education system to believe that the cities of Europe are exotic destinations of culture and sophistication. To me the entire land mass from the shores of France to the end of Russia protruding out into the Bering Strait is a corrupt embodiment and continuation of The Dark Ages. The people from those lands have been conquered and beaten so many ways by so many tyrants that the only way out of the cycle was “democracy” through majority rule. And if the majority are idiots, than so be it. Visiting a BW3’s on a Friday night disgusts me as much as it would if I were in a Dublin Pub with a bunch of socialists banging mugs of beer together in communion around a soccer match—so my feelings are not specific to Europe. And before I say any more, one of my son-in-laws is from England, just outside of London on the eastern side. My other daughter dated a guy from the boarder of Scotland. I have family members from Europe, and I deal with people almost every day in every time zone from London to New Zealand, so I have a very good understanding about the lifestyle of Europe which leaves me shaking my head when Americans seek to mimic that cold landmass with a history of oppression extending from here to the dawn of man shown in the Caves of Lascaux. America was founded by people seeking freedom from Europe and they were willing to die to leave that place. In a lot of ways the pilgrims were the original Gaultchers from Atlas Shrugged they were looking to be free of the religious and political persecution of Europe, which still exists to this very day in Keynesian economics. The thought process moved from churches into the economy but the mentality is very much the same.
Once America was founded and Europe saw that they could visit without being killed by natives, they settled the New England area and brought their stupid European socialism with them in the form of “progressivism,” and started voting for Democrats while encourage America to give up football and making “soccer” the national game…………………………..NO. In many ways Europe is still stuck under the veil of tyranny that they have been confined with since there was an Ice Age and it is utterly disgusting. Atlas Shrugged is one of the first great American novels produced under a relatively new country with a new way of thinking. Now of course the jealous European trained in the liberal schools of Ireland, England and France will scoff at the characters of Atlas Shrugged because they are clearly outside of the European experience.
In reference to many of the successful Americans that I know, it is true that if they do not come to work, or leave a company after they have led it, the company does collapse. Making money is their hobby. I remember a lunch meeting that I had in downtown Cincinnati with some very influential financiers and patent attorneys where the bill was $11,000. These guys did this every day of the week. They made their money under an American capitalist system and could not have done what they were doing in Europe because people like Robert Nielson would think that they had equal rights to that money just because their mothers gave birth to them in Dublin. The people I had lunch with had a hobby that was “making money” which is why they had it. The wealth they produced carried over into every aspect of society from the nice waitress who tended to them daily to the people who imported the food required to feed them. If those types of people didn’t show up for work one day, or decided to go on a vacation, their businesses fell apart because “the people” working for them lost focus and drifted without proper leadership. That is not fascism that is leadership. Fascism is where such a human trait is taken advantage of.
America has created its own definitions and fascism is not even an option. A business leader of an industry is not a fascist, they are a job creator. People are free to leave that job if they discover they don’t like the direction of the company. But to allow a fascist to rule over the entire nation of America—that simply isn’t going to happen. Europeans can’t wrap their mind around that ideal; it doesn’t fit with their history and their foundations of education. To them the political “right” is fascists like Mussolini and Hitler and the “left” are people like Lenin, Stalin, and Marx. America rejected all those idiots because they are collectivists, and in Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged she is introducing an entirely new way of looking at the old problems so that Americans can understand why their capitalist system is so superior to European socialism. Those in love with “democracy” (majority rule, even if a majority are fools) is to commit a political and economic structure around collectivism. In America where individualism is the foundation concept, collectivism is a curse. It is a waste of time to achieve group consensus because not everyone is capable of making proper decisions. The reason for this has been explored by Robert Pirsig in the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, another revolutionary work of philosophy done specifically in America. Slowly the old philosophers of Europe, people like Nietzsche, Marx, and Descartes are being replaced by Rand, Pirsig, and Adam Smith.
The characters of Atlas Shrugged are my kind of people. They represent my daily life and I do feel sorry for those who can’t relate. It must be terrible to wake up each morning in such a fog that human faults are the first area of focus. It must be terrible to even consider if “group consensus” is something to measure before taking action. I once went to Disney World with a large group and watched everyone standing in Tomorrow Land for an hour arguing about which thing to do first. Finally, I got sick of it and gathered up a crew who wanted to go with me and I left to explore the park. We had a blast because most people just want to have someone give them direction in life. They don’t want the burden of thinking, they just want to follow—and that’s fine so long as they don’t get in the way. But if they try to hold things up with indecision and personal insecurities, then it is unacceptable to me. The primary question explored in Atlas Shrugged is if the majority should be allowed to hold up the few, when it is the few who move the world, and the answer is no.
People like me do not reach out to the “democracies” of the world trying to sell Ayn Rand or Atlas Shrugged because I really don’t care if people like Robert Nielson accepts it or rejects it. I just don’t want Nielson in a position through his Keynesian economics to hold me up when I want to do something. If he wants to hang out in a Dublin pub watching soccer matches instead of being productive, that is his decision—but he does not have a right to hinder me. The point of Atlas Shrugged is that when this process happens, people like Nielson do suffer. Europe sucks…………..most everyone is stuck somewhere between fascism and communism. The topless beaches of France and Spain do not give culture to a society—it does not make them enlightened. French wine is not better than California wine and the Caves of Lascaux are representative of the same tribal collectivism as the Navajo of the American Southwest—both represent primitive collectivist cultures mired with a basic premise of tribal sacrifice. The America that took Adam Smith’s lead, and John Locke and was first commented on by Ayn Rand, then Robert Pirsig is one that exists outside of European definitions for things. It is not my task or those of my friends in Galt’s Gulch to “sell” Rand to anybody. Her books have sold for decades quite well on their own—people come to her work in their own time in their own way. The difference between a republic and a democracy is that a republic is supposed to represent different people as a representative as opposed to a democracy with majority rule. America is a republic not a filthy democracy! A group of thugs do not have a right to impose on me their beliefs just because they outnumber me. The stupid will always outnumber the intelligent—so the stupid should not have power over the intelligent. The intelligent should not be hampered by fools, lowlifes, and insecure collectivists. That is what Atlas Shrugged is essentially about and why it offendshttp://youtu.be/bWebZ_OqU_c so many people. I can understand that many people don’t like the book or the movies if they identify with the villains—nobody likes being called names. But for years in every movie and book that has attacked capitalism, they have attacked my values, which is what the artists have done to people like me—so Atlas Shrugged is art that I can relate to. I don’t expect the democratic masses to enjoy it—it wasn’t written for them.
It is sad that people like Robert Nielsen are stuck behind on an island of Keynesian economics, socialism, communism, and soccer matches over beer in 200-year-old pubs that smell like dirty feet and swamp ass stained to their wooden chairs after 50 years of use. Like monkeys stuck on an island display at a zoo designed to contain them they can only look across the void at America and wonder why we have it so good, why we have so much money, so many tools at our disposal. But they never get to the answer of why because they are lacking the intellectual tools to step across the barriers which contain them. If they knew how to swim or were not afraid of the water they could free themselves—but instead they spend their days grooming each other and beating on their chests in memory of their primitive ancestors and call those who have left them behind—cultists driven by “selfishness.” I would love to help those people, but not by coming to Europe to copy off them, to play their stupid soccer matches where the game resembles socialism with their ridiculous off-sides rules—where a forward cannot be behind a defense—give me a break! That makes for a boring game and a boring economy, and Europe has both. Atlas Shrugged, an American story, is about productivity, individualism, innovation, and the corruption of the masses and their need for leadership. John Galt is certainly not the next European fascists. He is beyond that kind of thinking—he is all about total independence where individuals are not compelled into imprisonment by the weakest links of society—because those weak links chose to be stupid, perilous, or otherwise reckless with their lives—then expect others to shield them from reality through collectivism. Atlas Shrugged philosophically is a divorce from Europe, and obviously in such divorces there are hard feelings and one side will always try to make the other look bad. But in the end, Atlas Shrugged is a change in thinking that the spouse left behind resents and in this case it is Europe and all its faulty past. Robert Nielsen might feel the chill of abandonment and call after their former lover with disdain and envy, but the merit is rooted in jealousy. The proclamation that some people, some economies, and some ideals are better than others, and that people who love Atlas Shrugged are willing to go off and do their own thing is a reality that the European and the Americans who love the dank culture of that haze covered land is simply too much to comprehend.
Atlas Shrugged is about a new way of thinking where the roots of productivity are not explored through mystical hocus pocus balancing limited resources against equal distribution to the world. It is about what makes resources in the first place so that new things can come to be which ultimately benefit everyone. The question must first be asked, who is responsible for productivity—is it the democratic masses or the few who possess leadership and ability? My trip to Disney World is confirmation that Atlas Shrugged is the only artistic work to properly identify the answer. At the end of that day, a majority of the people in the argument of what to do were still there. They had simply sat down at a few tables and ate food most of the day stuck in inaction driven by their indecisiveness. Me and my group, we rode Pirates of the Carribean—5 times, road the Thunder Mountain Railroad, did the Swiss Family Robison Tree House, saw a number of shows including the Presidents Showcase, ran all over Tom Sawyer Island, did everything in Fantasy Land, shopped, road Space Mountain—3 times and still had time to do more. The rest of the group had not even left Tomorrow Land except to get a place on Main Street to watch the fireworks. That is what has happened to Europe and every single Keynesian economist and every political socialist. They are still stuck in the politics of Europe and are chained to its dismal fate where America has moved on. The philosophy of that “moving on” is chronicled in Atlas Shrugged and is only growing as more and more of those monkeys on the zoo island learn to swim and discover a big bright world outside of their intellectual confinement.
I have on more than one occasion wondered if Glenn Beck reads from this site and gets inspiration for his shows based on the content. Too many times I have said something on a particular day only to hear him discussing it two days, or two weeks later. However, the likely scenario is that I share with him the ability to calculate the future based on observational computations and can pinpoint at a particular point in space and time the need to address an issue. The accuracy of those computations for people able to perform them is as simple as 2 + 2 is 4 or 4 + 4 is 8, they represent a logic that is observable and predictable if the acknowledgment of reality is pure. This has never been truer than when Beck announced recently that he was done with politics because he saw it as a game, and that he had plans to run his company, The Blaze, as a culture building mechanism as opposed to a political pundit reporting service.
I have thought this for a very long time, and have pointed often to the modern Star Wars saga and Walt Disney from the past, as tools in this arsenal, which mankind needs desperately. One episode of a 30 minutes Star Wars cartoon is maybe 100 times more potent than a typical political speech which is often reported by the news in the same way that ESPN reports the happenings of a baseball game. The real power to change the world is to affect culture not the news that comes from the culture once it’s established. This is why The White House in a desperate push to get more health care enrollees by the end of March turned to YouTube in an attempt to reach young people. Most of society is not watching Fox News, MSNBC, or the nightly news on the primary networks—they are plugged into entertainment culture—which molds the ideals that we all function from everyday. As Beck said in the article linked above, the news is simply the tail of the dog—which is culture.
On so many occasions I have been asked to be a part of the political establishment, as my wife has railed in protest. She knows what my real talents are, and she doesn’t want to see me distracted with petty pursuits which waste time. Often elected office is responding to the tail of the dog as it wags it and I would rather deal with the dog. That is not to say that other people shouldn’t tend to those kinds of things, but everyone has to do what they are good at—and I am at my heart and soul, a culture builder. From the time that I was a little kid to the present time, I have been obsessed with cultural aspects and how they relate to one another. In my present form, many consider me to be the most manipulative person they know, because they sense fractions of what I often do to them upon interaction—but in the end they end up thanking me for the effort. Hind-sight often shows the logic, but foresight proves most will be lost—and I gave up trying to explain it to them a long time ago, because it just slows things down.
There is nothing more important than culture building whether it is a business, an educational philosophy, a family unit, a local government, or a national government, without a proper culture things always go amiss—100% of the time. It is never important to discuss the tail of a dog, it is important to deal with the dog and by the time a school board makes a decision, or a group of trustees takes action after many meetings and the collaboration of many minds, or a president signs an executive order, the opportunity to solve the problem occurred many decisions ago in the cultural aspects of the decision, not the decision itself. Culture determines the quality of a decision otherwise all decisions are like throwing darts—you can get close, but accuracy is often random and plagued with uncontrolled variables.
Glenn Beck has announced that he is producing motion pictures, specifically one about Christmas, which is important and another about just how bad Thomas Edison was in his climb to power and how he was used to give power companies a monopoly on every home in America—as designed by J.P. Morgan. For most of our lives in America we were told that Edison was a tireless worker and inventor who created electricity. But in reality, he was corrupt and motivated by greed when a pupil of his, Tesla showed far more promise—and innovation. That part of history has been suppressed culturally which led to the political acceptance of a financial system of electricity delivery designed by a wealthy financier in Morgan to expand his holds and influence in a negative way—a way that still persists to this day—even though lots of options exist. Beck instead of attempting to discuss this corruption through news outlets is going to take the message to the cultural level and make a movie about it. This has infinitely more power than thousands of hours of Beck standing in front of chalk boards trying to explain to a few intellectual types the error of their ways. A movie has the power to reach the masses, and actually change culture.
This is why Hollywood hates John Aglialoro’s efforts at making Atlas Shrugged into three films, the last of which is coming out in the fall of 2014. A movie is the captured turf of modern progressives, and they want to maintain their ability to impact culture without the competition of other ideals. Their hatred of the Atlas films is motivated exclusively by this realization. Beck will experience even more intense hatred as his projects begin to percolate into cultural competition—because the enemies of his work know what is at stake.
So it makes me very happy to hear Glenn Beck declare what his future plans are—because he is once again way ahead of everyone else. It may not be so obvious today, in 2014, but in 2100 it will be very obvious, and history will remember these efforts in how culture changed in dramatic ways. One of those molders of culture will be Glenn Beck, and history will owe him a lot of thanks.
The central premise of the progressive argument which has been the undercurrent of communism for all of the 20th Century, emerging in popular culture during the 1960s—is that The United States was built on theft. The argument by progressives like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Noam Chomsky is that America stole their land from the “Native Americans,” that it stole its labor from the African slaves, and that it stole its wealth from Middle Eastern oil. But the real attack is an old one that was most spectacularly on display during the Russian Revolution of 1917 and was conducted much more subtly in The United States—it is a frontal assault against capitalism hoping to destroy the economic engine of prosperity which progressives stood vehemently against. Progressivism shaped the mind of Barack Obama and others like him; it was not them who shaped progressivism. Like termites they believe that their view of the world is the right one and their collective efforts were larger than their individual will—and their aim from day one of their acceptance of progressivism has been to burrow out America into a hollow shell to give back to the world what was stolen from them by capitalism. This is the premise of the new film by Dinesh D’Souza called America, which will be released on July 4th 2014, and promises to do something that has not yet been done before—take on directly the premise of progressivism in a film by high-profile Hollywood talent—most specifically the great Gerald R. Molen. Molen has turned from producing Steven Spielberg films to dedicating his talents by producing films which question the basis behind progressivism the way only Hollywood can—and is one of the first obvious defectors from the movie machine in California.
I’m not going to lie, I knew five years ago after attending a film festival that things needed to change. I had written a few very conservative novels. My Symposium of Justice opened with a serial rapist being bullwhipped to near death for the deliberate staging of a sexual assault by the city police in order to win more support from the public. Not exactly the kind of material a 2004 reading public was ready to deal with. My 2012 novel Tail of the Dragon was about an open civil war against statism done against the backdrop of the great car chase films of the past like Vanishing Point and Smokey and the Bandit. Readers of my blog loved the novel, but the general public wasn’t sure how to feel about it—as it went against everything most people were trained to consider acceptable. After a film I worked on in 2008 and understanding the Hollywood culture up-close and personal I changed direction in my life not to fit the times, but to the times I knew that were coming. Creative people where emerging from their hiding places, people like Glenn Beck, Hollywood defectors like Gerald R. Molen, and Harmon Kaslow. John Aglialoro went into production on the Ayn Rand classic Atlas Shrugged, and of course Dinesh D’Souza started making movies leading up to 2012: Obama’s America. The Batman films by Christopher Nolan were certainly making arguments against progressivism on a huge scale. I saw in Hollywood that progressivism was about to go to court, California had spent itself into oblivion, several American cities were on the edge of bankruptcy, and a radical progressive president had just been elected. Times were changing and as the people in position to usher in those changes, the masses would need more details to explain to them what went wrong and how they could come out of it. This has led to the blog site you are now reading which has over 2 million words worth of my opinions, history, and strategy on how to defeat progressivism. I knew as people like Molen, D’Souza, and Kaslow produced films that would wake up people to the slow cannibalizing of their country by progressivism, that people would need support for their personal journey while coming out of that deep sleep. So I started Overmanwarror’s Wisdom to help them with the difficult journey of waking up from the terrible sleep imposed upon them for years by respected progressives such as Noam Chomsky.
Noam Chomsky had already written several bestselling books over many years which have been pushed like intoxicants into American students through universities thoroughly corrupting the minds of millions for several decades toward progressivism—really to the doom of American capitalism. Chomsky’s essential philosophical premise of Universalism is that “we are choosing to live in a world of comforting illusion,” alluding that the truth of American imperialism is theft of other people’s resources exploited by the evil West. He has sold progressivism with the argument that America should “apply the same ethical principles that we apply to other governments to our own.” In this way, he and others in intelligentsia have paralyzed conservative America into a defensive posture when attack was the needed strategy. That paralysis has lasted for at least four decades, but in 2008, the cracks were forming and a collapse was about to occur. So I determined to help with the transition.
Many wonder why I don’t try to sell my work done here at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom. The reason is that I am fighting to preserve America so that the intellect of the buying public is not lost to progressivism forever. It won’t do any good to sell my work to a bunch of mindless drones and I’m not interested in writing for a drone driven public. A Wilshire Blvd talent scout told me about 15 years ago, “Mr. Hoffman, your work is too hard-edged, too political, too violent, and too judgmental. Loosen up a bit, and put some occasional tits in your stories, everybody likes boobies.” This was a female agent from one of the big firms. She was telling me how to sell my work so that it would be marketable to the masses. But that just wasn’t interesting. What good was a condo in Florida, and a Lamborghini, if America failed? So I stopped writing for other people and started writing what I wanted to. And on this blog site, I write what I damn well please at whatever cost. Because the casualties are strategic objectives that will help pave the way for the other media to gain more of an audience—such as D’Souza’s new film, or the Atlas films by Kaslow and Aglialoro.
In the upcoming film by D’Souza, called America, he will take on directly the premise of Noam Chomsky’s arguments, which for the left is like attacking Jesus Christ. Chomsky is forbidden territory that has been beyond refuting, and question. D’Souza will attack the basic foundations of Chomsky and his roots into Immanuel Kant going all the way back to 1785 when the roots of progressivism were forming in Europe. While Immanuel Kant was publishing his works Critique of Pure Reason, (1781) the Foundations of the Metaphysics of Morals (1785) the Critique of Practical Reason (1788) and the Critique of Judgment (1790) America was working through the difficulties of becoming the first nation on earth to have a free people driven by capitalism protected by a Constitution rooted in Aristotelian logic. Over the next three centuries countries who followed the lead of America succeeded wonderfully, while those who followed after Kant have suffered under the terrible weight of poverty. This is where Noam Chomsky gets his foundation arguments about progressivism which have done so much damage.
On July 4th, the progressive left, and right will be very outraged by Dinesh D’Souza’s latest film, but the time has come, and I knew it would for a long time. My goal was to have thousands of articles available to viewers of these new movies to combat directly the swarms of progressive propaganda that currently exists. Even with my millions of words produced in defense of free markets and capitalism, there are literally trillions and trillions of words in favor of progressivism. But the big difference is that there are severe holes in their theory and it has always been the progressives who have conducted the theft—like Robin Hood, where they intend openly to steal from the rich and give to the poor. The grim reality that Chomsky refuses to see with his Kantian mindset is that the Middle East sat on their giant oil fields for generations, and did nothing with it. It was capitalism that found a use for it, and made the families of Saudi Arabia wealthy beyond measure. Without the West buying their oil, the wealth that pours into the Middle East would dry up like a torrential downpour in the desert. It would evaporate as quickly as it came. It was America who taught the Japanese how to have one of the world’s most powerful economies, and it is America who buys most of what China produces. It is America who keeps dictators from overrunning the entire world and it is still NASA technology that makes space travel in Russia possible as our astronauts have been forced by the progressive Obama into hitching a ride with a contentious enemy all in the name of “progressive peace.” The American Indian, the so-called “Native American” lived life as nomads for centuries regulating themselves to begging the gods for rain so that crops would grow. The American had science which could help them produce more food under adverse conditions than anyplace on earth. America has produced so much food that going hungry in America is a choice instead of a random option. Within two centuries of the mystic Native American dances around campfires asking the gods to bring food to their tribe, McDonald’s restaurants sprung up every 50 miles across America and NEVER run out of food. It is inconceivable to stop by a McDonald’s and find that they don’t have meat for a hamburger. Noam Chomsky and other progressives think that the Native Americans had the right approach to life and that McDonald’s is a vile construct of capitalism creating a consumer based culture, and the premise of progressivism is to destroy it forever—preserving the earth with a foolish notion of tribal tribute to ancient gods and human reason being troubled by questions it cannot dismiss, but also cannot answer. The American seeks to answer all questions and overcome all obstacles as progressives see such behavior as theft—theft of resources that are finite and not renewable by human ingenuity—in the same way that Indians believed Buffalo kills were spiritual gifts, and rain was given because of a stupid dance.
As the rest of the world learns of these falsehoods they have been taught all their lives, it is my intention to give them a safe place to find the answers with a simple Google search. There are so many articles now on the World Wide Web from me that people all over the world are reading for the first time and having their epiphany moments. Most of the articles are long, and if I charged money for them, people would skip reading in favor of some pornographic material. So I offer them for free so that people will be encouraged to study them. And when people see films like D’Souza’s America, or Aglialoro’s Atlas, or Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, people enlightened will do their Google search and get the details here at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom. They’ll learn how they have been scammed by people like Noam Chomsky, and Barack Obama—for a very, very long time. A new rebellion of intellectual thought is emerging, and it is the opposite of the one that Nom Chomsky has been a part of for so many years. The time has come, and not a moment too soon. But the next step will be the hardest. It is one thing to have filmmakers like D’Souza make wonderful films; it is another to understand what to do with that information. For that, I have dedicated myself, and my fortune. I have been on strike so to speak for several years now, and it has been expensive. But well worth it, because the fight is not just for wealth, but the quality of minds needed to have commerce with. Without quality people in America to conduct business with, the quality of the capitalist experience is greatly diminished, which has been the ultimate reason for the progressive attempt to dumb down America through public education. For them, it was always about attacking capitalism—at any cost—even people’s minds.
If I speak to 100 people on any given day, 85 of them carry a loaded gun—most of them concealed. Those 85 people range in personalities from six figure executives to back yard mechanics who are more than willing to lift up their own pickup truck by hand while changing a tire to avoid the complication of going into the garage to get a jack. Guns are a fact of life in American culture and are the primary reason no country in their right mind would dare invade our homes because it would prove a tactical nightmare. Most of those 85 never draw those guns on another human being and will spend their entire lives never shooting anybody. They have the guns just in case—and for especially young boys; guns are a right of manhood. When a person carries a gun they are proudly stating that they are not betting their life on government controlled security like the TSA, the police, the manipulative CIA, the comb-over heavy FBI, the politically driven military or any other louse who yearns to dominate other human beings with government backed authority. That is why it was so disgusting that Lakota schools made such a huge deal over Deangelo Jones who had a loaded 9 mm in his backpack inside a friend’s car and was arrested and thrown in jail because of it.
By the way, all the videos shown here took place in the Lakota district over the last year, this even under very stringent security of police and Lakota officials during a levy attempt, when it matters most to them. Government workers are not a substitute for personal security.

I have some experience with school shootings which I’ll share in a few days specifically because of this case—and Lakota’s extreme overreaction to it. I was in one when I was a kid—at Lakota—so I have some authority on the subject from which to speak. Sometimes young men have issues with other young men that need to be settled, and the school imposes itself on that process when they infringe on the private rights of people, especially going through their back packs based on the word of some tattle tale who told school officials that there was a gun on the Lakota property. Lakota West Principal Elgil Card talked boldly after the arrest of Jones saying, “Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the Lakota Student Code of Conduct. It is not permissible to bring any weapon onto school property even if secured in a private vehicle.” Smart…………..now you know dear reader why so many schools are attacked by lunatic gunman—because everyone knows that they unarmed places and the people there are vulnerable and too heavily dependent on complacent government workers to protect them. If you are a bad guy, or a deranged student looking for some sort of revenge, a school becomes a prime target because of the stupid comments of naive people like Principal Card.
You know what else is in the Lakota Student Code of Conduct, drug possession, and if the same vigor had been applied as the one who went through Deangelo Jones’ backpack, it is highly likely that marijuana busts on a grand scale would far eclipse this gun story—but in public schools these days, drugs are cool, sexual molestation of the students by the teachers is shrugged off, but if someone brings a gun to school—it is plastered all over the news and the freedom of a young 18 year old kid are violated ruthlessly. This Lakota story was even covered in Toledo, Ohio as school administrators beat on their chest as if to justify their awesome security methods—and ability to protect students from a potential crazed gunman on the heels of their latest tax increase. Lakota exploited the kid—Jones, for the benefit of the institution and trampled all over his rights as an American citizen—and are damn proud of it.
Meanwhile the panicky levy supporters in and around Lakota are holding their little ones a bit closer thanking Lakota officials for protecting their children from the dangerous Deangelo Jones. They are proud that they raised taxes on property owners all in the name of safety so that a do-gooder could get Jones in trouble for carrying a gun on school property. These same people have given a free pass to teachers who were caught sexually seducing students, or other teachers who are very permissive to drug use.
I would argue that drugs are far more dangerous than guns, because drugs destroy the ability to think, where guns are simply designed to tear open the flesh of another person. Without a mind, there isn’t much of a life for anybody—a mind is far more important than the flesh—because without a mind, a person really doesn’t have anything but blood which pumps through a living carcass. The amount of drugs in the Lakota West parking lot on a daily basis is likely to cause a whole lot more damage to other people and the future economy of our nation than a tiff that Deangelo Jones felt he might have had with another student—or his desire to show his friends that he was a man—and could now carry a gun at 18-years-old. Where are the tattle tales over the drugs in backpacks of the Lakota West parking lot even to this very day, and where is the will to do anything about it? There isn’t one.
Lakota made a big deal about the gun brought onto school property by a student because their social position fits the nationally driven progressive agenda against personal firearms—which was delivered to America from a United Nations intent to see the entire planet stripped of personal protection. The public education stance against personal firearms fits that progressive message—so they feel entitled to infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of Jones and anybody else operating outside of progressive politics. Jones is an 18-year-old man, not some kid any longer—in spite of what some corpulent politicians decided was best in Columbus, Ohio. The Lakota position against firearms is not about safety and logic—it is more about reassuring the line of dialogue that guns are “bad” and should be feared. Lakota, and the media, used Deangelo Jones to instill fear into the public by making them even more terrified of firearms in the same way that student athletes are used to solicit more tax revenue from property owners under Friday night lights on cold October evenings. The goal is community manipulation toward a direction that the progressive institutions desire—and Lakota is a very progressive institution.
The students at Lakota who witnessed this whole Deangelo Jones situation will grow up and accept that the school has authority over individuals who carry guns. They will accept the molestation of the TSA without concern, or when the police break down their door someday during a suspicious tip from a neighbor—all in the name of protecting the “state,” they will obediently submit to authority. If the students at Lakota learned anything from the Deangelo Jones case it was that guns are to be feared, that the state has authority over the individual, and that even close friends will rat out suspicious behavior to do-gooder authority figures. Those lessons will carry over into adulthood when those same students will someday vote, and they will think of Deangelo Jones and vote against concealed carry laws, and personal protection not controlled by local law enforcement. When that time comes, the 85 people I know who are law bidding citizens and are the makers and shakers of the local economy will become outlaws who will have their property confiscated by the state and held against their will in jail with a $10,000 bail. And that is the real intent behind the press releases, and the ecstatic dream of every progressive institution in America, especially those in public education. Those same schools will applaud a woman’s right to kill a baby, or a college student to intoxicate themselves on weekend nights destroying the genetic code of their own physiology with THC marijuana smoke and non-thinking commitment to “getting high.” But if a person declares they have a right to the Second Amendment……..watch out………the howls of fear will emit from the mouths of the school levy supporters and weak-minded government advocates—because the real goal is not the one they advocate, but the ones left unspoken and from a foreign land—who secretly yearns to possess all that we have—and can never until Americans yield their love of guns to the benefactors of authority—which they control through political strings and financial contributions. That strategy is being implemented by do-gooders laced with too much cellulite around the midsection, and people who are too lazy to change their own motor oil, let alone a tire. And when they see gun, they wet their pants, because they have been taught to fear such things by progressive institutions like the one at Lakota—a parasite on virtually everything that has value.
As to all the news stories shown above, how can Lakota keep all those stories contained so that the public thinks they are getting a lot of value for their tax dollars……………well, they spend a lot more tax money on public relations to keep their image good so that all the sad little things like murder plots, vandalism, sexting, and mass shooting threats stay off of people’s minds. But for students who know the reality, carrying a gun isn’t a bad idea. Smart people do carry, because they don’t trust other people to their own security. Obviously, Lakota isn’t up to the challenge of providing security, as the evidence presents.
It is time to have a serious discussion about education outside the realm of simple difficulties in funding it. It is time to challenge any assertion that government schools have of taking American schools into a realm suitable for a “global marketplace.” Any educator who says such things should be instantly terminated for non conformance by American standards. As proven, the rest of the world has been corrupted by the Cold War of the 20th Century where communism spread through virtually every institution of academics in the world, from Jakarta to Cambridge, to Yale. To understand more clearly, read the book We The Living. It will tell all everything they need to know about the current problems in public education. There is NO doubt that the conditions described in that book are what’s causing our present problems in education. Yet only in America has any real economic progress of any worth taken place. If American economic markets failed, the car industry in Japan, China, Korea, Germany and elsewhere would be destroyed, the iPhone factories in China would whither away. Many other products that are produced by American companies in oversee markets essentially to run away from American labor unions and the tyranny of the Department of Labor, and the EPA would cease, because the initiative to create those markets started in America and no place else. It is time to have a heart to heart discussion of just how bad the situation truly is and to stop apologizing to the world for being so damn good, and America has been. The rest of the world should try to be like America, not America trying to be like everyone else corrupted by communist attempts to alter their economies.
After my article the other day about the OEA union in Ohio, I received a lot of interesting feedback from my friends in Galt’s Gulch, it’s an online community who have created in cyberspace the kind of Atlantis found in Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged. The filmmakers created the place to promote their Atlas films, but the site has taken on a life of its own where really intelligent people from all levels of society are spending time with like-minded enthusiasts who are generally philosophic Objectivists. I would say that the intellectual capacities of the typical people who spend time in the Gulch are well above average, so feedback from them is very valuable to me. After my article, I received two comments from Gulch members who have been involved in education for a great many years and left their impressions. Those impressions were worth noting and have been listed below along with the links to the place in the Gulch where the original comments can be found. They are worth reading as specific entries into the education argument and I offer them here for that purpose. These are not people who are like me in that they just despise public education as a primary infringement on personal liberty. These people tried to work within the system and have turned away to report their experience—something which I think is just the tip of the iceberg. I have spoken to quite a few teachers in person, on the phone, and am friends with quite a few, and they all reflect these next two entries. Once a few teachers see others breaking ranks and voicing their opinions, I am confident that many more will follow—and they need to.
I retired from teaching 7 years ago, after 20 years in education, for several reasons, one of which was that the Progressives had completely taken over public education. I taught American History to 11th graders. The textbook I was to teach from was ridiculously slanted left: half a chapter on the American Civil War, 1 chapter on WWI, 2 pages on the Spanish-American War, on 3 chapters on Progressivism, 3 chapters on the New Deal, 1 chapter on WWII, lots of information on LBJ, Nixon was the anti-Christ, the usual leftist views on Vietnam, etc.
I usually assigned the textbooks to the students because I was required to do so, then taught from my own notes and my own materials. Until the last few years, I had an assistant principal that did not concern himself with what I was doing and so I taught American History, not Revised American History. The last few years I taught, though, I had a new assistant principal who was a dyed-in-the-wool Progressive. The woman hounded me like a coon dog on the scent. I was reprimanded several times for not using the textbook, subjected to unannounced observations, and once suspended without pay for 2 days.
Common Core is the Progressive’s wet dream. It does not teach any higher thinking skills, no extended thought processes, no critical thinking. It turns out nice, stupid automatons who will not question TPTB. It destroys any interest in life-long learning, because learning under Common Core is so tediously not fun.
I don’t know how much this adds to the discussion, but I want to add my conviction that public education is broken … has been broken for some time. There is no quick fix; I don’t believe it can actually be fixed at all. At this time, charter schools or private schools are a parent’s best bet.
This is definitely representative of what is happening in Ohio schools (as well as across the country), and has been for 15 years or more. 15 years ago we had Maslow group therapy and group hypnosis on all classes in grade schools here, instead of academics. We had history teachers teaching kids they had “rights” with no mention of responsibilities. We have ongoing values clarification in required health classes. It leaves one asking, “Where’s the academics!”
These teachers are brainwashed, either by the colleges where they get their free Masters degrees or by their unions. Our local union leaders once admitted to me they were turning children against their parents, because THEY thought it was best for them. Kids are taught, “There is no I in team.” – at which point I gave our daughter “Anthem” to read. khalling just talked to the father of a 7 year old the other day, who said he could not understand why his daughter suddenly acted to disrespectful to her family – I filled him in..Teachers and even administrators are all in for this collectivist agenda. I thank Tom DeWeese (Ohio guy) of American Policy Center for letting me know 15 years ago.we were facing a nationwide agenda. Actually it is UN driven at this point. Kids will be taught to embrace UN Agenda 21, and already learn property rights must go.
Yeah, I too started out the 60s as an anti-Vietnam liberal, while my grounded brother told me another Civil War was in our future. He read history more than I did, but being curious, I started reading history. Mao did it for me, I began to see the agenda around me, I began to learn that McCarthy was right, there were commies in the government and other professions, trying to turn the US. I should have known, living in North Dakota in the early 60s, my Dad moved us to Texas, after he felt overwhelmed by the scope of an active CPUSA up there at the time. I hated Johnson, still do, and that also helped wake me up.
“’What got everyone re-energized was the debt ceiling,’ said Ann Becker, president of the Cincinnati Tea Party, who attended a meeting in Mr. Boehner’s district of more than 200 people Saturday to discuss a long-shot challenge to him for the GOP nomination.” That was a quote out of the Wall Street Journal where Cincinnati Tea Party President and personal friend Ann Becker made nationwide news following the straw poll results in Eaton, Ohio trying to determine who will run against John Boehner in the upcoming primary. Traditional big government oriented Republicans like John Boehner, John Kasich, Mitch McConnell and many others specifically in the Ohio and Kentucky region are facing major challenges—which is how things are supposed to be. The Wall Street Journal is one of the last of the respectable papers in America, so it was wonderful to see Ann make the news.
A lot of people throughout the country do not know that Southern Ohio is ground zero for the heart and soul of the country. The primary resistance to public education solidified in this region, it is the front yard of major GOP Republicans and is the heart of a current civil war within the Republic Party situated specifically in Butler County, Ohio where old school cronyism is meeting up head on against the new rebels of the party who are insisting on Constitutional purity. At the heart of many of those activities in many different capacities has been Ann Becker. So it was good to see her mentioned in the Wall Street Journal.
Many traditional Republicans like John Boehner and the money machine that funds him primarily coming from the Carlos Todd Republicans, are bewildered as to what people like Ann have been yearning for. They thought that all they had to do was come out against abortion, stand for lower taxes with lip service, and present a resistance to same-sex marriage that the religious base of the Republican Party would fall in behind. The well-known business method which people like Carlos Todd of Butler County—a developer who has used political involvement to ensure the stability of his investments—is that you pay to play ball and if someone wanted to work hard, got to know all the right people, that anybody could make it in America.
But that’s not how things were supposed to be, and people like Ann have stood against it—and behind her legions of much more radicalized advocates for Constitutional purity are calling for the heads of Carlos Todd’s Republicans. Ann was always level-headed and understood all sides of an argument. She even ran against me in 2005 in support of the Lakota levy. By 2010 she joined me in opposition, but we did not always stand together on those battle lines just as now there are many who wish she’d take a sword to the head of the GOP when other methods are already well under way that don’t make such a mess. But the underlying current to the politics of Southern Ohio whether it is the efforts of the West Clermont School District to stand against organized labor control of the school board, The Liberty Township Tea Party fight against the IRS and being in the middle of the civil war in Butler Country where John Boehner/Todd Republicans are fighting against Tea Party activists, or Ann Becker’s efforts to dethrone the Speaker of the House in Washington D.C., and my overarching attempts to throw a light on all forms of collectivism spanning through all those fields. There are few places in America where the war wages more vigorously than Southern Ohio, and Northern Kentucky. Not to be taken lightly, Rand Paul is from the area, and is taking the political message of people like Ann Becker to the front lines of a presidential race. Paul is too liberal for me, but he does represent the future and I’m rooting for him.
Few people know it, but the Doc Thompson Radio Show on The Blaze is broadcast from Southern Ohio across the entire nation and they have directly taken on virtually every House and Senate seat up for grabs in the 2014 election. They broadcast from a secret location and often not in the same place day-to-day. Other popular personalities from Southern Ohio are Libertarian Girl who is also personal friends with Ann Becker and is bringing a youthful following to the libertarian movement pulling votes from traditional Republicans and activating young people who might otherwise be inclined to vote for a Democrat.
The landscape is changing rapidly, and the end result will be something different. It is hard to tell at this time exactly how, but one thing is for sure, the Grand Ol’ Party will not be a bunch of old men protecting their real estate investments in the future, and they will either adopt, or they will become extinct. They will either get on the train, or they will be run over by it—because going back to the old ways won’t happen. Too many people are awakened now to return back to those complacent times.
People are still apathetic, but as Ann gave me a series of very important news reports of which the Wall Street Journal article was only one, this new upcoming generation is different and is not tolerant of stuffy old Republicans like John Boehner. There are still plenty of people who will vote for Boehner, probably enough to keep him in office, but that is changing quickly. Two years from now, Boehner may lose his base completely at the rate of change that we are seeing. Even if he hangs on to win the primary in 2014, the next time won’t be nearly so easy.
Just four years ago when the Ohio Education Association put out a press release, every newspaper, television station, and news report followed their statements without question. Now, those same outlets are taking OEA reports far less seriously because there is a lot of scrutiny thrown in the direction of that government based labor union that wasn’t there before. Southern Ohio has been a place where much-needed gasoline has been thrown on a fire that was already started by Glenn Beck, John Stossel, and many other high-profile commentators who began questioning the status quo. Like Ann said in the Wall Street Journal, “What got everyone re-energized was the debt ceiling.” It did, and everything mentioned was an offshoot of that issue. My opposition to public education is driven off the extraordinarily high cost of public education forcing taxes higher on people who may not support the liberal viewpoints of the government schools. Boehner has done nothing to stop the national debt but use his majority in the House of Representatives to lay down for the President to run him over. The Republicans have been complicit in the crime of looting the nation, and people like Ann have stood strong against very strong forces who demand the status quo. But that status is no longer relevant, and the cracks in the system are growing into crumbling supports of a structure that will come crashing down very soon—because there’s no money, intellectual will, or credible aptitude to continue the charade.
I am proud to know Ann Becker. She has done some great work, and she will always be near and dear to me—because her fight for liberty, justice, and honor started a chain reaction that cannot be stopped now—and she will always be known as one of the first. It’s a pleasure to know her.
John Stossel is a regular at the yearly Atlas Society events, which is a large group advocating the Objectivist views of Ayn Rand’s work in philosophy. You can see Stossel’s speech from the 2013 conference below. One thing that jumps out at such events is the large number of people who are involved from all levels of society. If this event were directly compared to a recent Ohio Education Association meetings of a same general type, anybody would conclude that the Atlas Society members were much better prepared for life, had vastly more intellectual capacity, and were generally better people in virtually every category. However, the OEA is much more widely known and accepted in political circles where the Atlas Society is still considered a “fringe” group, but this is changing rapidly.
I am not a group oriented person. I avoid them like a plague—even those where I generally agree with the participants, I quickly become disenfranchised when too many people are in association. The reason is not that I dislike the people; it is that I value my individualism to a greater extent. Group associations are corrosive to personal authenticity so I avoid them. Objectivists are closer to my personal epistemologies in virtually every category except for their position on drugs, personal relationships, and religion. Objectivists are more likely to be sexual swingers which is not something I find attractive. So there are issues where my values do not completely align with Objectivists, but in many more ways than not, they are best positioned to represent my general philosophy.
Ayn Rand essentially was advocating for the freedom of the human mind to be creative without the restriction of group oriented psychological anchors. In business, to her, the activity of an entrepreneur was a creative enterprise that had great value and most groups–socialists, governments, hoards of second-handers imposed themselves into that important attribute destroying production. Being productive is what Objectivists are all about, productive in the way they cook their food, make their money, even how they maintain relationships—everything is centered on productivity. Productivity in this case is the creation of something new whether it is art, a material item, or even an ideal.
Contrary to this is most every faction of human existence where the goal is to avoid productivity. Group oriented activity is all about sharing burdens so that one does not have to go it alone—and in that process individual productivity is lost. This is why such group associations are essentially evil—because they hamper individual creative input. In my life I create something in virtually every hour of every day. I typically get up at 5:30 every morning and I go to bed often very late. In those waking hours I am creating, whether it is for business, art, philosophy, or personal growth—I am always looking for ways to create. One of the most despicable moments for me is when someone comes to my door wanting to sell something—not because I don’t want to buy Girl Scout cookies from the little girl down the road or hear a sales pitch from a representative of a local church—it is because of the lost time robbed from me to be personally productive. While I’m standing on my porch listening to someone else’s needs, I am not being productive, personally—and it bothers me. Without shared values to unite people in such a conversation, I will always come away emptier than I began while the other party will leave filled and I will have also lost my productive time.
I have spent hours upon hours alone and closed to my thoughts being productive and been quite happy because the enterprise was not so much to get a pay check, or have someone else recognize my value—but in conducting my life as an individual contributor to my own authenticity which is fulfilling in itself. Only people at the Atlas Society understand these traits. The local teachers union has no comprehension of these things. They are simply parasites off the tax payers. The local firemen have no idea about such things because their entire existence is built of personal sacrifice. The local church has no idea because they are built off sacrificing this life for the next. The local business has no idea because to them everything must be sacrificed for the greater good of the company. The unifying theme of all these groups is the term, “sacrifice.” It’s the old notation left over from our Neanderthal past that something must be given up so that something can be created and this just isn’t the case.
Creation occurs from a free mind. It is not something that can be concocted by force as government believes. There are no kings, queens, college professors or figures of authority who can use force to “create” anything—whether it be a work of art, a magnificent novel, a painting, or a business. The more rules that government creates only serves to destroy creativity in the human spirit. It does not “create” fairness, it only limits creativity.
This is why the only organization that is really doing the right things for the right reasons that I can see is the Atlas Society and those similar attempts to take the work of Ayn Rand and take the next step. The people in that room with John Stossel, and the people who are involved with the new Atlas Shrugged films, and the site Galt’s Gulch are truly pioneers in a time where all the elements of oppression are aligned against them. They are literally on a new frontier of human thought which can be a scary place, but it is good to see that they are up to the challenge and facing the tribulations against creativity with a boldness that will become the headlines of future folklore.
If you were listening today across the vast frozen plains of Southern Michigan to WAAM radio in Ann Arbor you would have heard Clarkcast Radio host Matt Clark speaking to me about the future of America starting in 2014. The theme of our discussion centered around “Tapestries of Ideology” which I mentioned as a way to explain whether or not people cared enough about anything to change the direction of the Republic away from the socialism, liberalism, and sometimes open communism that has infected the American way of life by rabid progressive influence. When the “Tapestries of Ideology” are removed from people—the need for power structures to utilize pairs of opposites to herd people into a particular direction—people find they have more in common than less 100% of the time. I have had elegant dinners with “hit men” who did what they did to keep their wives wrapped in gold and perils, but loved watching Davy Crocket on The Wonderful World of Disney as kids. I’ve associated with judges who ran their entire local political structure ruthlessly—but discovered that deep down inside they loved the movie, “The Sound of Music.” Presently some of my best friends are the kind of people who used to be professional educators and would have hated me a decade ago, but find themselves united with my present crusade. Once those “Tapestries of Ideology” are removed, often it is discovered that people have more in common than not. This led to a very interesting discussion as Matt recorded it with video. He didn’t just want me to call in like a typical guest on talk radio, but he utilized Skype so he could have our discussion on a split screen—which turned out to be a really good idea. Have a look:
Progressives are often given credit for propelling forward the Civil Rights movement, bringing equality to women, and creating a five-day work week with labor union pressure against their employers. Using “Tapestries of Ideology” all those groups propelling so-called “rights”—actually exploited certain collective groups by focusing their energy on pairs of opposite duality so to steer their efforts toward progressive causes. For Civil Rights, progressive groups exploited black oppression, for women, progressives sought to create a “war against women” perpetrated by evil, vile, dirty, heterosexual men. For the weekend oriented work week, labor unions painted the pictures that corporations were evil and slave shops of doom that could not put a check on their selfish motivations. However, once those ideologies are removed from people one on one, it can easily be discovered that most women yearn to have a man’s specific touch in their life and want to be cared for in a passive way, blacks integrate quite well with whites, and most union members are happy to have a job that was created by a corporation and are often grateful. Progressive organizations can only advance their positions with duality and hate—which is why they never really wish to solve any problems. Instead they are perpetually on the outlook for more problems so that they can exploit them to gain power from the process.
What I said to Matt during our half hour broadcast was that this power trick is changing—the old progressive behavior is altering exposing the game of duality that has been played behind the “Tapestries of Ideology” for decades. When those tapestries are removed, people tend to find they have a lot in common—more so than politics would care to admit. When Denver plays Seattle in the next Superbowl entire cities supporting those respective teams will find themselves united. Ideologies of political and progressive nature will be removed because they find themselves supporting the exploits of Payton Manning or the terrific defense of the Seattle Seahawks. However, when the game is over, those tapestries of ideology go back up and the duality nature of progressive politics will return.
I most saw this duality during a game I attended in Tampa, Florida when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers retired the jersey of Mike Alstott. My wife and I flew down from Cincinnati for the game to watch the prime time Sunday night extravaganza. Before the game I attended a tailgate party where firefighters, local girls from the Penthouse strip club, cops, teachers, radio hosts, former players and a number of colorful personalities were enjoying the extended hours before the game. The event began at noon and lasted up until around 7 PM and featured great food, lots of drinks, and a very festive atmosphere. Ideologically I was opposed to most of the people at this tailgate party—but on that day at that time, we were all dressed to kill with skulls, and pirate paraphernalia with the united goal of seeing the Bucs beat the Seahawks. It was very exciting. These are some of my friends from “What The Buc?”

The Bucs won that game and Raymond James Stadium was rocking as the palm trees inside the stadium waved from a slight breeze to the massive crowed juiced up from the victory. But that wasn’t all, just across town at another stadium the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team was on a run for the World Series and were in the final innings. The game was a game seven as they had been down 4 to 1 against the Boston Red Sox just a few days before. Their comeback was one of the great sports stories at the time and if they won that particular game they’d go to the World Series against The Philadelphia Phillies. In Tampa this was an electrifying moment. My wife and I flew to Tampa essentially just for the Buccaneer game and the night before on a flight out of Baltimore the captain knowing that game 6 was so important to most of the passengers headed for Tampa piped in the game to the in-seat headsets. I listened to the Rays win that game going to game 7 the following night and the plane erupted with cheers. It was a phenomenal experience as perfect strangers were high fiving each other just because the game ended with the Tampa Bay Rays winning the game.
The next day prior to the Buccaneer tailgate party my wife and I had lunch outside at a nice restaurant at the International Mall. On October 19th 2008, it was a warm day in Florida and very pleasant around noon. We had stayed the night before at the same hotel where the Seattle Seahawks were staying. Due to the collective hostility toward them, they stayed in their rooms confined to their wing, mainly for their own protection as Tampa was revved up for their sports teams everywhere anybody went. It was a hostile environment for a visiting team to the Bay area. My wife and I ordered up a fine bottle of wine since we arrived late into town and the hotel let us have the outside pool area to ourselves until 2 AM as a special favor. We were having a nice time. This carried over to a nice breakfast by the bay, some quick phone calls to my Tampa contacts at the tailgate party, then arrangement for lunch. At the International Mall even that early in the day on a Sunday people were absolutely ecstatic having two massive sports events in town at the same time, the Buccaneer game and the Rays’ playoff game. It was an electrifying lunch which just intensified as the day wore on.
Many hours later, the Buc game ended in a victory but the Rays games was still rolling on. So the Raymond James Stadium crew turned on the rest of the Rays game onto the jumbotron scoreboards so the fans at the Buccaneers game could watch the Rays win that remarkable comeback performance against the Boston Red Sox. When David Price got the final out of that game I have never heard such an eruption of fan excitement as I did that day. The entire Raymond James Stadium exploded into cheers that were so intense that I thought the concrete of the place would shake apart. And it wasn’t just inside the stadium, but outside as well. The cars on the streets tooted their horns wherever they were and a rumble of cheers came from the city streets from as far away as sound could carry them. The ceremony went on for many hours and lasted all the way back to our hotel. The streets were clogged with people who stopped in the street and were dancing on their cars. It was an amazing experience.
I found myself joined with those people as a rugged individualist even though many of the people who wanted to shake my hand and hug me were likely people who would find my politics and social stance reprehensibly too strict for them. This was because the “Tapestries of Ideology” had been removed by the Buccaneer football game and the World Series entry of the Tampa Bay Rays. That emotion lasted until we got on a plane the next day, on a Monday and flew home. Once we landed back in Cincinnati, the “Tapestries of Ideology” were back in full force as Cincinnati had not experienced such a thing. The Reds had lost yet again, and the Bengals still sucked and people had nothing to unit them away from their personal ideologies created for them by power groups and charlatans.
As I told Matt, in 2014 the “Tapestries of Ideology” are coming down not because of a sporting event, but because information is so easy to receive from new media, video games requiring thought are outselling movies, television is being forced to produce thoughtful programming instead of sophomoric “booby humor” and the realization that most everybody has been lied to by a politician from both parties is impossible to escape. Common non-political people are sick of politics because it’s in their face now that Obamacare is taking more of their money with unjust taxation. For the same reason that the Seattle Seahawks had to stay in their hotel rooms in Tampa gazing from their balconies down onto my wife and I lounging at the pool below them trapped like convicts, politicians are finding that the world outside of Washington D.C. is not friendly to them. The “Tapestries of Ideology” are no longer hiding the antics of Obama and his miscreants of duality. They are exposed, and the things that normally divide people are failing, uniting unlikely souls toward uncharted territory.
I predicted to Matt that before 2014 ends this illuminating statistic would become more pronounced. It may not be measurable month by month—like the hands of a clock. If you stare at the situation, little movement will be observed. But if you turn away and look again five minutes from now, a huge change in hand position will be noticed. Thus, the same type of thing will occur throughout 2014. Watching day by day throughout February, March, and April, little will appear to change, but by the time that we reach December of 2014, quite a lot will. People are waking up and the old tricks executed with the “Tapestries of Ideology” are not working because people know what are behind those tapestries. They now know what they conceal and it is no longer enough to just look at the surface of things. People are looking deeper.
The top-selling books on the market are not the Steven King types as they have been in the past, they are Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, Charles Krauthammer and Star Wars all works of tradition, thought, and rebellion against established thinking. The time has come and gone for the progressive. They have ruined the world, and are presently still in power, but the mess they made people resent—and they can no longer hide behind “Tapestries of Ideology.” Without those tapestries, there isn’t anything to hide the true intentions of the progressive—and that is what 2014 in the context of history most will be known for. Mark it on your calendar—because it will be a big year for truth, justice……………………..and the American Way as the “Tapestries of Ideology” come crashing down.
