Making Omelets: The essence of leadership

Another aspect to the perils of collectivism is the cheerleader for the concept of a “TEAM” especially when great emphasis is placed on the specific terminology. One of the premier drivers of social and economic socialism is the desire to hide one’s cowardly behavior under the blanket of society pointing to the greedy management of some organization to rise up against and overtake. But then there are those who provide justification to the cowardly by becoming abusive tyrants when given authority through position who are clueless and inept attempting to hide their minor dictatorships behind the concept of a “TEAM.”

Many years ago I worked at one of many fast food restaurants and without question I was one of their most productive workers. However, the manager there and I did not get along. She was a raging feminist who was attempting to live all her life’s failures through her career decisions hoping beyond hope that a successful management career would somehow off-set two decades of diabolical personal decision-making mistakes. She looked for respect not by earning it, but simply because she had schemed some executive within the company to give her responsibility and that by simple virtue of a nameplate identifying her as a “boss” she had earned the right to infinite respect. Well, she was wrong.

 

At this job I was just a grill cook—but I was the fastest in the area and I could work two lines by myself saving the company two staffed positions, sometimes three, four, up to five so I knew the value I brought to the table. I also knew that this manager’s role within the company was purely ornamental; after all she was a young woman who helped their staffing numbers—especially in management, and fit the profile of what corporate wanted to see on paper for their labor statistics. However, she was ineffective as far as official management duties often carrying her store over staffed, under stocked, and ill prepared for dinner rushes. And because she treated everyone like slaves on her personal plantation the workers would lay down on her and refuse to give her a good shift of productive output—because they didn’t respect her. They simply showed up to collect a check.

I’ve always believed in authenticity so I never pandered to her authority or the company overall. I let her know that I could see that she didn’t know what she was doing and I offered to help her help herself if she needed proper counseling on how to perform such an elusive task. But of course she thought she knew everything so she refused to listen—instead she chose to pick fights with me at every turn which ultimately sealed her fate.

When a member of corporate came through the drive thru window to check on things and see how the store was operating—he asked how things were going. I told him that the store manager had no idea what she was doing and that she was pushing his margins toward the negative needlessly. Of course he wanted to know more where I proceeded to disassemble her piece by piece which was easy because she had been hiding her ineptitude behind a love for her title and the authority it wielded. When she had to actually be accountable, she was absolutely clueless and had no resort but to fall on her feminist teachings accusing the executive and me of being prejudice against her because she was a woman in a man’s world and all that other nonsense. Of course I told the executive that too, right in front of her which sent her deeper into defense without being able to bring up anything professionally which justified her continued existence as manager of that store. Instead she leaned on her title, her authority, and her sex to shield her ineptitude from further social judgment.

The executive gave her another store after that encounter putting her into a really bad neighborhood where the workforce was much more antagonistic toward management. The store was already performing poorly so she couldn’t screw that up any worse. She had a nervous breakdown within two months and actually ended up in the hospital for psychological treatment. The reason was that she had to actually perform to hold her job and not rely on titles or even her feminism to shield her incompetence—so with no other option to lean on she had a mental breakdown as her only escape from the situation.

 

I felt bad for the manager only in that she had to take things so far before she actually listened. But she should have known better than to think I was going to let her abuse me and others just to fill her own ego with pride as a second-hander. I used that example of failed leadership because it is one of the easier to explain—and one of the shortest examples of how top down incompetence can fuel the collective desire for communist concepts like socialism, unionism, or committee driven consensus—it is because leaders fail to lead when they place the value of their positions on a nameplate or organization chart instead of the actual performance of the position.   In my past I have so many examples of such conflict with authority similar to that above story that I can’t even remember them all—given that I have an excellent memory, it should provide context to the multitude. Behind me is a dark and bloody river of many such conflicts and people from my past reading this—which of course they do can offer nothing in defense because they know it’s all true. The difference is that I never felt compelled to join with others to solve any of these problems. I simply confronted those targets with the truth about their real desire for power—and exposed them to the people who fund the endeavors.

There have of course been more men than women but in general there are far too many people who enter the work force believing that a title of authority will grant them power they otherwise don’t have. Once they get this power they find they need their egos constantly massaged and instead of their productive effort going into making money for their company’s needs, they use the workforce as their personal playground of boosting their own internal worthlessness. They often use authority to mask their own incompetence which they hope will go undetected from behind their commands. But it never does—people can naturally detect bullshit and immediately set about ways to protect themselves from it—which leads often to collective unification against a tyrant. So in the end both sides end up wrong and the business suffers or goes out of existence all together unable to produce a profit.

 

I have been in the business of making omelets and to do that you have to break a lot of eggs. In that metaphor of course eggs represent the ego of the type of people who fall in love with power out of their own insecurity. This has been exposed at the Lakota school district, many businesses, and within several organizations and I have behind me a lot of omelets made and eaten by grateful financial interests. And the omelet making will continue wherever I am at the time—because I personally have no tolerance for abuse of leadership. It’s not a mystery that requires collective endeavor to stand up against—all it takes is a good heart, a clean conscience, and a will to do well. If one possesses those traits they will find that they can move mountains and solve the world’s problems just by showing up for work without malice or social gratification.

Most businesses that fail do so because of poor leadership at the top. Most organizations are weak and next to worthless because they have people running them who care more about the nameplates on their desk than in accomplishing the task at hand. And government is filled with poor leaders who seek office not on merit but by popularity allowing them to believe they are important when in fact they are just more examples of detrimental human frailties. The way to fix all these issues is to recognize the attributes of proper leadership as the values are removed from social consensus and instead based upon individual performance. And for the worker who thinks they are at the bottom of the food chain and not able to do anything about the tyrant they work for, take it from someone who knows very well, if you are a superior worker and bring a good heart to your business backed by honesty you will find that your employer will value you far more than the guy with the brass nameplate on their desk. And your counsel will be very valuable because it is so rare these days to have such authentic people on a payroll.   Don’t be afraid to expose an idiot when they present themselves. The cost in not doing so only brings misery to more people for a longer period of time needlessly. In the end, it’s not just you who will suffer, but everyone else.

 

A TEAM is not something where everyone contributes equally. A “team” is where a leader rallies people behind a common cause not out of duty—but respect. Not everyone is capable of being a leader. Most people are terrified of it. But if you are one of the rare few who are of leadership quality be careful when nameplate lovers start using the word TEAM to describe an enterprise. The reason they do it is to cover their own ineptitude and to piggy back off your efforts so they can use your leadership to mask their own fallacies using the designation of a “TEAM” to perform the task. When a politician says the words, “we did it as a team” look carefully at what is going on behind their words—because there is likely something hidden there they are trying to mask. Likely what it is will be a series of abused people who have done all the work and lost the credit to a politician who seeks to associate themselves with success by gradually taking over the enterprise by putting their nameplate upon it and expecting their authority position to allow them to do it without question. When that happens there really is no choice, its time to make some omelets by breaking several eggs and making something positive out of a bunch of broken shells and the contents which ooze from them once shattered. It takes a leader to do the shattering and to see the need for an ordered up omelet.

Erasing History: Glenn Beck’s vision of sheer terror

I had a nice talk with Doc Thompson the other day about some really cool things that are on the horizon—which ironically corresponded to some of the really good work that Glenn Beck has been doing. Beck on December 18th 2014 did a very dystopian video playing himself as a man 40 years older thinking back on this time and the events of our day. His message corresponded perfectly with the contents of the discussion Doc and I had just hours earlier. In a lot of ways the reason I write this blog every day, and produce the other creative content that I do is that I know we are entering a new age where collectivism will be the new open mantra and it is my responsibility as an individual to speak out against it. The revisionists are already hard at work steering the world in the direction Beck alluded to in his video just as they did with the Christopher Columbus voyage—declaring that Europe had discovered America—even though that was very far from the truth.

I have watched and learned over the years how diabolical the church aligned with politics can be in destroying history. In order to maintain the theory that the North American Indian was “native” to the New World and that Columbus discovered them the government has virtually destroyed those nomadic people so to remove the evidence of their very lives, and destroyed numerous archaeological sites that proved human beings had advanced cultures in America thousands of years before Christopher Columbus ever thought of sailing across the Atlantic. In America there were of course Vikings who moved as deep into the country as Oklahoma and Minnesota. There were also Chinese who apparently mated with a giant species of man possibly from the lost tribes of Israel. There were Aztecs and Mayans who traveled up the Mississippi to exchange goods with Cahokia and other large population centers with advanced knowledge of astronomy and mythology. And likely there were advanced cultures in America before any of those groups came to be—well before Europe was even a land of kingdoms. But to maintain the illusion that Europe had discovered America—much evidence had been destroyed on purpose.

So Beck’s video drama is not far off the mark. Revisionist history is hard at work in the present trying to erase events only decades old—let alone centuries so that an order centered around collectivism can rise to power. And if that assault is not met with aggression, Beck’s apocalypse will come true. So I write my postings, my books, and do whatever I can to preserve the history that I have witnessed personally through a colorful life full of experience. I have first hand witnessed the world before the revisionists put their hands on fate—so I’m dedicated to that preservation.

 

The history erasing is mostly happening by the public school system followed closely by the media. The most current evidence of historic revision is the Cuban issue of Obama reopening ties with the southern communist country. In my lifetime I watched the Cold War struggles between America and Cuba and have watched how during the Obama presidency that slowly the anger toward communism has abated with full support of the media culture to watch the revision of a former enemy to a friendly southern neighbor occur virtually overnight. Within a few years the dark days of the Cold War will be wiped away.

 

Ironically the best way to study revisionist techniques comes from the attempted passage of local school levy issues where public relations professionals spin reality often and hide crimes to gain tax increases by public vote. They will cheat any way possible to acquire their funds. The same basic Alinsky methods have been used by the Obama White House to cover their many scandals. Once that game is understood it is easy to see how history is being erased right before our eyes as fast as it is created.

Beck’s apocalyptic vision is quite realistic if taken at the value of true observation. Those who might call it conspiratorial or paranoid are the type of people erasing history presently. And this cannot be allowed to occur. So in a lot of ways I have dedicated my life to the preservation, and resurrection of the proper history before it is gone forever—wiped clean by the revisionists trying to hide their tracks. And that was the content of the talk Doc and I had. 2015 should be a very interesting year.

Communist Cuba Open for Business: Obama’s master plan

Book your trip to communist Cuba now; America’s unofficial communist president has just declared an end to the half century stalemate between capitalism and communism by surrendering to the later. Barack Obama showed what kind of secret deals he’s capable of as he arranged between the United Nations, the Pope, and Cuba a lifting of the sanctions against the oppressed island to the south of Florida to provide that communist country an infusion into their economy that will at least allow American tourism to flow money into the pockets of the Cuban people. What Obama gets out of the deal is that Americans will get a taste of communism polished up specifically for the influx of tourism to help expand the ideals stateside. Ultimately it’s about economically propping up Cuba in much the way that tourism helps Mexico so to disguise the terrible failures that socialism and communism have been to that country with American capitalism slowly weakened by inclusion into the international community watered down by Socialism International.

 

The Cuban deal is the opposite of OPEC’s maneuver where the oil-producing countries in agreement with the United Nations are lowering their prices to squeeze Russia out of the Ukraine—to take away the teeth of the aggressive president and former KGB member. The declining oil prices are meant to strangle Russia’s emerging oil markets and choke off their economy until Putin says uncle and plays nicely one again on the playground of the international community. At that time, oil prices will return to the previous levels so to force car companies and airline manufactures into more environmentally friendly innovations.

 

The Cuban model as Obama sees it will follow a similar path as communist China by allowing private investment to bring money into the country so that the communist nation can appear to be successful only by marriage with the capitalist America. Communist countries in such a marriage are like the parasitic spouse who simply lives off the money the other spouse makes—and does little to contribute to the relationship—like a trophy wife without the trophy. China likes western money because it makes them look like they have an expanding economy—but without capitalism in the world, there would be nobody to give them money leaving China to be an armpit in the global economy.

Cuba has not been forced to amend its oppressive ways—Obama has simply folded and given the communists everything they wanted. In the chess game of global politics which desires socialism to accompany a central power at the United Nations governing world affairs, Obama can further weaken America while propping up Cuban communism so that the ideals of collective endeavor can gain a further foothold among countries like China that are emerging markets of expanding economy.

Obama has simply shown the cards we always knew he held—but denied. Now in his last two years of office he is clearly the communist from the South Side of Chicago that he has been accused of. The only difference is that now it is unmistakable what his intentions have always been. It’s not the freedom of the Cuban people from oppression—it is the lowering of America into the grip of communism by allowing tourists to visit the country—buy its cigars and come back to the voting booths declaring—“its not so bad in Cuba.” But what they won’t see on the tours are the prisons of those prosecuted under the Castro brothers—and the oppression that has long stained that country with the taint of communism and all its ugly tenets.

Even though Obama brought the Pope into the deal to take the edge off the conservative right and their Catholic followers—the intent is clear. And again I can only say that I and several others told you so dear reader. But you didn’t listen.

The DOJ Cover-up with the IRS: Caught by Doc Thompson and Judicial Watch

There is likely more to the sudden appearance of the CIA report regarding the liberal senate’s disapproval of waterboarding occurrences during the Bush Administration. At the same time the $40 million dollar report was produced, Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber was testifying about his role of deceit in fooling Americans into accepting the takeover of the health care industry by hidden tax methods in front of congress—which somehow mysteriously took a back seat to the waterboarding information—even on Fox News. The Gruber story was the second story on Fox as the waterboard story was the primary. But even deeper was the revelation that the Department of Justice who is supposed to investigating the IRS targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status was forced against their will to reveal a few pages of internal DOJ documents that prove Lois Lerner was talking to officials about prosecuting tax-exempt entities criminally. Only under a lawsuit by Judicial Watch v. the Department of Justice, N. 14-cv-01239 did the DOJ hand over two of their withheld pages showing many redacted emails. There was only one news source that covered the story that I know of as the information hit—and that was my friend Doc Thompson, at The Blaze Radio Network. Below are the contents of that powerful radio show which should be listened to from beginning to end.

Documents from a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the IRS show that Ms. Lerner asked the DOJ whether tax-exempt entities could be criminally prosecuted. This May 8, 2013 email by Ms. Lerner went to Nikole C. Flax, Chief of Staff to Acting IRS Commissioner Steven T. Miller, who would later be fired by President Obama:

“I got a call today from Richard Pilger Director Elections Crimes Branch at DOJ … He wanted to know who at IRS the DOJ folk s [sic] could talk to about Sen. Whitehouse idea at the hearing that DOJ could piece together false statement cases about applicants who “lied” on their 1024s–saying they weren’t planning on doing political activity, and then turning around and making large visible political expenditures. DOJ is feeling like it needs to respond, but want to talk to the right folks at IRS to see whether there are impediments from our side and what, if any damage this might do to IRS programs. I told him that sounded like we might need several folks from IRS…”

DOJ’s Mr. Pilger admitted that DOJ officials met Ms. Lerner in October 2010. Moreover, according to congressional investigators, a Lerner email from October 5, 2010 shows the IRS sent the FBI and DOJ a “1.1 million page database of information from 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations” that contained confidential taxpayer information. So there you have it, the DOJ who is supposed to be investigating this criminal activity was involved—intimately. Lois Lerner stepped way out of her position at the IRS to act as an activist to prosecute those in political opposition to the big government views of the Obama administration. Using the IRS and DOJ as a personal weapon against political opponents and a labor union president who worked directly with Barack Obama, the IRS launched an attack against the American people using coercion in any means they could get by with under the law—or the DOJ’s interpretation of the law—to destroy their political rivals.

Doc Thompson broke down the entire story with his partner Skip LaCombe. The story is out, the proof is there, and prosecutions should happen immediately. Yet, the media caught in their complacency, and just about every level of the federal government has been caught red-handed and nobody wants to deal with the embarrassment of the public ridicule which should follow if there was any justice in the world. Instead the cover-up continues leaving only a few radio outlets and typical conservative journalists to report the matter to a public consumed over waterboarding ten years ago and what Christmas presents they have yet to purchase a week away from the end of the 2014 year.

This story is far larger than Watergate and involves many, many more people. Likely, if the same standards of Watergate were held today, a large part of Washington D.C. would have to throw themselves on the sword and resign. It is the biggest story of the year, but not even Fox covered it—which should tell everything.

The proof is there, the emails exist and the paper trail is conclusive even with mountains of evidence still ready to be uncovered. Even with the danger of bringing up a story over ten years old regarding waterboarding during the Bush presidency we are now told that we should not look further at the Benghazi tragedy because it was too far removed in the past—a whole three years ago during a presidential run that could have knocked Obama out of the election if the story had not been contained with sheer lies. But worse even than that story is that the DOJ directly worked with the IRS and the White House to bring down political rivals using their tax-exempt status to hold them back and encumber them with paperwork and a silent shrill of bureaucratic terrorism to stall their efforts. I know of that work first hand through the Liberty Township Tea Party. I had to help with the paperwork because some of my videos came under scrutiny by the IRS in their investigation of the Liberty Township Tea Part and more specifically, Justine Binik-Thomas. But it was my friends there who suffered the most—they had to waste hours of their time filling out paperwork to hold off the IRS attempts to halt their progress as an education oriented organization designed to produce a more alert voting population. In the world of the criminals running things at the White House, DOJ, and the IRS, being an educated voter is a very dangerous thing and that is what they targeted to cover the tracks of their crimes.

It is not an issue for dispute any longer. The proof is there, the time-line is complete. Doc Thompson laid out the entire case, and there are documents to prove the accusations. The DOJ is the only real investigative body capable of prosecution on this issue, and they are directly involved—so who goes to jail, who resigns from office, and who carries out justice in this case? Nobody. It gets swept under the rug and forgotten about until finally ten years from now, just as Democrats have thrown the Bush administration under the bus yet again trying to deflect attention away from their vile actions with public sympathy toward waterboarding that they will finally run out of hiding places over this IRS debacle. Because it’s not going to go away. People like Doc, and I will never let it die. So they can run—but they can’t hide. Eventually, they will peek around the corner of their hiding places and see that justice is before them—and they will have no other option but to accept it. Eric Holder, Barack Obama, Lois Lerner and all those like her involved in this scandal will have to deal with that justice for the rest of their lives. Because even with all the proof that there currently is, it is just the tip of the iceberg, and the American people will be uncovering that evidence for decades. And with each new introduction the anger will only increase and the only institution truly at blame will be the DOJ for its actions in participating in the scandal—and its active role in the cover-up.

Trey Gowdy’s Symposium: Establishing proper managment systems

 We always hear from radical left-winged protestors that “this is what democracy looks like” as they chant in mass over a particular issue—whether it is police shootings in Ferguson, union pensions, or that Breaking Bad is moving to a new night. But seldom do we get to see what proper government management looks like. So it was quite enjoyable to watch congressman Trey Gowdy of South Carolina apply proper management methods to the Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber. Gruber had been caught talking about how Obamacare was passed by a Democrat controlled congress and senate through deceitful means, so Gowdy had an obligation to apply some force to the matter in articulating the crime and mismanagement of taxpayer resources.

Every city council meeting should look like the way Trey Gowdy conducted his interrogation of Gruber. Every school board meeting, every trustee meeting, every gathering of government managing of tax payer resources should look like Growdy in congress. It is not the job of politicians to be liked, it is not their job to pander and get along with a consensus—it is their job to manage—and that’s it.

Of course unpopular politicians tend not to get re-elected, so that is part of the problem for the typical attention seekers who desire public office. But they should at a bare minimum attempt to behave as Gowdy did in the hearings over Obamacare. Of course the current congress has no stomach for actual management—just tough talk—but it’s a start. The congress has an obligation to not fund Obamacare especially after the Gruber testimony. But such a position in modern Washington is considered radical and Republicans won’t walk into the touchy-feely trap that Democrats have set to snare them in the court of public opinion—so they won’t do anything “tough” with Obamacare except talk.

Without management of resources you get run away budgets—just like what is found at virtually every public school dominated by radical labor unions were overwhelmed school board members lay down to be run over by left-leaning radicals who advocated collective bargaining agreements without any management opposition to keep them in check. But on each one of those school boards should be people like Trey Gowdy to provide an equal opposition to the radical nut cases who declare large sums of money with no oversight but only tax increases every five years.

The goal of every government body should be to create surpluses with the same voracity that corporations seek profits. Money saved is money made so no government should look at a budget surplus and think of new ways to pass out money to potential voters. And any government that hires consultants, like public schools often do to find ways to deceive voters into higher taxes deserve to be grilled the way Jonathan Gruber was by Trey Gowdy. Gruber was paid millions of tax payer dollars for discovering a means to deceive them with Obamacare—and the people who made those decisions mismanaged the money under Gruber’s charge. The only way to prevent such abuse is with management of resources in the manner the Gowdy provided.

The sad condition of our modern times is that Gowdy is looked at as an exceptional case—and not the norm. By those who wish to perpetrate a con against the taxpayer, of course Gowdy is hated. He is paid as a congressman to be hated—not loved. If a manager of any kind is loved by everyone, they are not doing their jobs. So it is a compliment for a manager to be called names and to have quibbles said about them behind their backs or by organized masses seeking collective efforts. If such a thing occurs, the politician is doing their jobs.

Many felt pride at Trey Gowdy’s grilling of Gruber because they instinctively understand the value of the exchange. Gruber a once arrogant government despot was reduced to admitting that he had been an ostentatious fool seeking to take advantage of the system for his own ideological and financial gain. Gruber’s strategy was to throw himself on the sword, take his millions of looted tax payer dollars and go into hiding with his loot. He was willing to sacrifice the self-respect he had gained within progressive academic circles for the stolen wealth he had acquired during the Obamacare fraud. So he declared foolishness and took the beating.

But imagine that there wasn’t a beating for Gruber—where would there have been any justice? Gruber without Gowdy would have disappeared into the sunset a progressive hero wealthy and wise. At least now, because of Gowdy, Gruber is only wealthy off stolen money—at least he had to endure some punishment—even if it’s just verbal.

Not everyone is capable of management—but for those who are—management provides a hedge against the despots of looting inclination. Without management there is no protection from the forces seeking to attack value—that is why communism and socialism seeks to make management the villain in their philosophy. That is also why labor unions make management into villains—because they want open access to the wealth of a corporation so that they can exploit it for all the worth—just as Gruber did. So we cheer on Trey Gowdy for his management chastisement of Gruber because we wish it was more commonplace. Not to mention that the mass conspiracy conducted right out in the open as Democrats released the controversial CIA report against the Bush administration on the same day that Gruber was dissected by Gowdy—hoping to take the edge off the government deceit that is Obamacare—there is much more management that needs to be done on behalf of tax payer resources.

Government is filled with many more people like Jonathan Gruber. In fact, most of the Washington D.C. wealthy suburbs are filled with government looters just like him. Without people like Trey Gowdy there is no resistance to their bottomless needs of tax payer funded lifestyles. There is no management of revenue taken in by the federal government under force and the distribution of that vast wealth—but to surrender it to the diabolical menaces who make careers out of politics for the purpose of creating personal wealth in ways they could never do under any other means. Without management, there is nothing that stands in the way of crime and justice. At least when it comes to the words spoken by Gowdy—at least we know Gruber will lose something due to his corruption and arrogance. Not enough—but at least it’s something.

Staying Fat, Dumb and Happy: Edward Leedskalnin’s thoughts on public education

To those who have read Edward Leeskalnin’s book Magnetic Current they have the fortune of knowing that it is as revolutionary as Einstein’s E=MC2. In the book Leeskalnin explains how to remove magnetic currents from objects and to manipulate them in a way that is useful. Yet the information is technically impossible by modern methods of science as there is some missing knowledge in getting from here to Leeskalnin’s assumptions. The impact of Leeskalnin’s understanding to magnetism will eventually be much more revolutionary than Tesla’s experiments with AC current as opposed to Edison’s DC. Tesla was attacked and buried by his former boss in Edison so to preserve the power grid model we see today that is unionized as a public utility—and controlled by government backed monopolies. Yet Leeskalnin and Tesla were using electrical current and magnetism in ways that tapped into the cosmic supply of that energy—which never runs out making the levitation of giant objects and perpetual use of power completely free as an obtainable possibility. The difference is essentially the Internet we have today which costs a fee to have access but once there, the world is at your feet in as much abundance as you can handle—as opposed to Obama’s attempts through the FCC to control and regulate the Internet as a public utility.

Once the government gets involved in anything its game over for invention and options and this has never been truer than with government schools. Leeskalnin was a certified genius—click here to read more about him—and in his small book A Book in Every Home, he addressed the education problem emerging in America as early as the 1940s—well before the creation of the Department of Education which I have railed against so intensely. Many would look at the education methods from Leeskalnin’s day and declare that they were the best in the world and created some of the best people ever to walk the earth—they defeated Hitler, unified the world with technology sending people to the moon, encouraged the greatest period of economic growth ever seen in the world prior, brought equality to women, and people of color, and still had time to raise decent families. However, Leeskalnin was not impressed and dropped out of school in the 4th grade because it bored him. His complaints about school were similar to Einstein’s and both had little reverence for the government backed institutions.

In A Book in Every Home Leeskalnin had some very interesting thoughts about the quality of an education system and how to determine if it was any good. He stated:

 

Now, a few words about eduation. You know we receive an education in the schools from books. All those books that people became educated from twenty-five years ago, are wrong now, and those that are good now will be wrong again twenty-five years from now. So if they are wrong then, they are also wrong now, and the one who is educated from the wrong books is not educated, he is mislead. All books that are written are wrong, the one who is not educated cannot write a book and the one who is can be proved, to possess appreciation and self control.

 

Now, if you lack willingness to learn, you will remain as a brute and if you do things that are not good and right, you will be a low person, and if you believe in things that cannot be proved, any feeble minded person can lead you, and if you lack appreciation, it takes away the incentive for good doing and if you lack self control you will never know the limit.

 

So all those lacking these characteristics in their makeup are not eduated.

 

Essentially what Ed was saying in a manner that reminds me of the way Sun Tzu wrote in The Art of War—which is still used today by military minds—is that most books are written by people not properly educated and of no mind to teach others. The government’s motivation in this debacle is revealed by their desire to go through the motions, yet still delivering people to an ignorant state so that they are easy to control by creating a society of the feeble minded. The government only wants to educate people in the methods of instruction that will lead to a career which serves the state—and not in the wisdom of perpetually obtaining knowledge.

To confirm the results of this vile approach just look at any slack jawed loser who has been trained by their public schools into incurable ignorance. Their minds were destroyed in public education and they now can do very little with their lives but show up at a job they trained for and vote for one of the two members of a political party. The rest of their lives are virtually wasted.

 

If society had listened to Tesla every home in the world could have free electrical power. There would never be grid failures but each power generation supply would operate like an air conditioning unit does now—they would run and supply free power for as long as the perpetual generator lasted instead of the J.P. Morgan backed debacle we ended up with through Edison. The government wanted unionized employees servicing a power grid, and that’s what we ended up with vulnerable to every downed tree, heavy wind, or car accident that hits a power line. Edward Leedskalnin and his anti-gravity techniques could eliminate huge power equipment for construction and manufacturing methods—but most of those suppliers of equipment are also unionized, and they don’t want average people to gain the ability to lift 20 to30 ton objects the way a child picks up a penny off the sidewalk. The technology is there, but it cannot be unlocked because government schools have taught mass swarms of individuals to think of the collective good before individual selfishness—and in that way nobody dares to provoke the systems put in place by government intrusion—to question their merits.

 

Yet if you step off the path the governments of the world have led you down dear reader—you will see easily that a better life is easily obtainable. Tesla discovered many of those secretes and so did Edward Leedskalnin. They tried to help people see those secrets by overcoming the public faith in a government backed education system and Leedskalnin’s books were obvious efforts toward that objective. Sadly, especially in Leedskalnin’s case he remained a hermit most of his life because it is just too tormenting for highly intelligent people like him to watch others behave so ignorantly following the same outdated education methods even in a time where the world envied the American system as the best in the world. Leedskalnin understood the deficiency and he tried to warn people of it—but they did not have a mind to listen.

 

Because of the poor educating methods applied to mass society, there are no minds able to unlock the secrets of Leedskalnin’s book Magnetic Current. There are only knuckle dragging assumptions that always look toward mother government for encouragement and breast milk. And the same slavery of ignorance which has persisted for millennia continues to ruin minds, destroy societies, and eradicate family structure. The only thing government schools are good for is creating compliant minds who will drink too much, shorten their lives considerably with unhealthy choices, and pay their taxes for the employment of slugs who eye every conceivable holiday with a yearning for the intoxication that comes from the hit of a bottle and too many groceries in the refrigerator—keeping them fat, dumb, and happy.

Allowing Loafers and Weaklings the Power to Vote: Edward Leedskalnin’s ‘A Book in Every Home’

I have reported on the work of Edward Leedskalnin before—the little man who mysteriously built Coral Castle in south Florida. I like the guy and his science and am puzzling through his mid-twentieth century writings for my new Cliffhanger project. In his writing is a unique glimpse into how people from a previous time thought contrary to the contemporary—which I have stated often I abhor. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ABOUT LEEDSKALNIN. It is not a debate that one of the greatest generations of Americans was the World War II generation, which Leedskalnin was a part of. He was also a fine example of an American mad scientist in that he was eccentric enough to remove his vantage point back far enough to provide commentary based on his unbiased observations. He marked these observations down in a small book called A Book in Every Home meant to impart wisdom to future generations curious about the little 5’ man who could lift 3 ton coral rocks like a child plays with toys. Leedskalnin is an American enigma and his writings are quite intriguing.

In his A Book in Every Home Leedskalnin only writes on the left side of the book leaving the right side for a future decoder of his cryptic work to decipher his numerous mathematical puzzles. He dares readers to attempt to top his work by writing their own contributions into those blank pages. Of course for my task, I’d rather leave them empty for the evolving analysis that I am conducting with his work. Rather, I will gladly place my thoughts on his work here in Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom for my readers to ponder. Leedskalnin’s written efforts are a time capsule through our own corrupted education systems softened by political communist infiltration over time. Leedskalnin’s mind was extremely observant of the human race and was unconcerned with political correctness. For me his work is refreshing as many of my thoughts are similar observations uncovered from under attempted suppressions by contemporary corruption. For instance, below is but one small section of his book that I will focus on in this article written about Leedskalnin’s view on voting. He says:

 

It is not sound to allow the weaklings to vote. Anyone who is too weak to make his own living is not strong enough to vote, because their weak influences weakens the state and a degenerated state cannot exist very long, but every state should be sound and lasting.

 

By voting, the voters dictate the state’s destiny for times to come and then allow such a weak influence to guide the state, it is not wise and so you see one should vote according to how he is carrying the State’s burden.

 

Another unwise thing about equal voting is that it gives the loafers and weaklings the power to take the property away from producers and stronger people, and then another unjust thing about equal voting is that it gives the loafers and weaklings the power to demand an easy life from the producers and leaders.

 

Self respecting producers will not stand such an injustice for long. It is not the producers’ fault when one is too weak to make his own living. The producer’s life is just as sweet as the weaklings and loafer’s life is to them. All people are independent so you see everybody will have to take care of themselves and if they cannot, they should perish and the sooner they perish the better it will be.

To be lasting, the government should be built in the same way as the Supreme power of the land “the army.” Governments have been rising and falling but the army always remains. You know there is no equality in army and so there can be no equality in the state. If you are not an equal producer you cannot be an equal consumer.

 

In hindsight what Leedskalnin has said has proven 100% correct. From the vantage point of the counter-culture hippies and bra burning despots, Leedskalnin was participating in hate speech, but from the context of historical accuracy, nobody could argue the truth of his statements. The only criticism possible is to declare that it is mean-spirited to allow the weak in society to perish while the strong prosper and that it is up to the intellect of mankind to outthink the whole survival of the fittest mentality. However, which is a better mentality for the collective whole, the view-point of progressives who want to raise all boats even those with holes in them determined to remain on the ocean floor, or people like Leedskalnin who thinks society should advance regardless of those who desire to be the bottom feeders drowning from their own ineptitude? Obviously, the old hippie model has brought us all the elements that Leedskalnin predicted, so it was the little 100 pound man who stood at just 5’ in stature who said that weaklings should perish if they do not desire to be strong—that society should see itself as an army not as a government of equals—because such a view forces the strong to be weak so that the weak do not feel lowered in value.

There is no modern choice for the strong but to diminish themselves to the weak as the lesser have no ambition to become strong. So when society decides to make all people equal whether they are producers or takers the takers will always have leverage over the producers. This of course leads to the monstrosity that we have today in modern politics—a valueless system of corruption and disaster—just as Leedskalnin said it would. It’s not mean to say the truth unless the desire for society at large is to hide the truth from their own eyes to fulfill a fantasy of equality as possible no matter what level of ambition that an individual exhibits.

All people are created equal, as our founding documents in America declare. From there people make choices—even the mentally handicapped have opportunities under capitalism to overcome their stature and become something more. But people have to decide if they wish to become leaders or followers. Most people desire to be led about and to follow behind someone on the cutting edge. Those people are not equal to the leaders. It takes courage to be a leader and courage is lacking from the typical follower. So when the decision to become a follower is made, those people surrender their rights to be equal to a leader. There is no way to trick the system into some behavioral nonsense when distinctions between the strong and the weak need to be made.

For the followers nobody is proposing that they be blasted into space or imprisoned for foolishness—or even left to die. Actually Leedsalnin did say it would be better for weak people to die, but what he pointed out is that a democracy cannot survive if weak people have equal rights to vote with strong people—because the weak are not qualified to make proper decisions about such matters. In modern times we can now see what happens, campaign donations are horrendously high, progressives are pushing the ignorant to vote so that they can have wind in their sails of insurrection toward communist thought and the entire political system is bent around the will of lobbyists because of the intellectual vacuum created by such a failed system. When the weak are mixed with the strong and all assumed equal, the weak bring down the value of the strong and the sum of democracy becomes lessened.

All people do start in life equally, but as decisions are made in those lives a vast number of any given social population will desire to fall behind a leader. Such people then cannot expect to have the right to vote equally with people who have proven themselves to be leaders. To allow such a thing brings about the very conditions we are struggling with in American society presently. A continuation of that commitment will only lead to more of the terrible behavior currently witnessed on the political scene.

As hard as Leedskalnin’s comments were in the context of the World War II generation toward an emerging threat that he saw percolating through his scientific observations of unquestioned genius—the results are now confirmed. The progressives ran away from such wisdom and guided society to a precipice of destruction. At the time of his writing, Leedskalnin in his little book A Book in Every Home could not prove the debacle that would soon come from the 1960s in America continuing to the present—but he did predict it. Now looking back, it is time to analyze what values we must carry with us into the future knowing what we do. To fail such a task would be to doom ourselves to our own extinction. The weak cannot be made to sap off the strong so to make everyone equal because that is the only way such a thing can occur. The sum than of such a society is one relegated to the efforts of the weak and not the strong—which does nobody any good—not the weak or the strong. So it is time to take seriously the wisdom of our past and apply it to the future and a good place to start is where Leedskalnin properly identified a potential failure in American democracy within a republic—at the voting booth and the type of people qualified to handle such an important task.

Cirque du Soleil’s Guy Laliberté Journey to Space: A reality we will all soon face

Guy Laliberté is the kind of man who most everyone likes no matter what side of the political aisle they may reside. When someone becomes a billionaire whether or not they want to—they have a major impact on the culture around them—by default. Through his Cirque du Soleil Guy Laliberté has touched many lives, including mine. If not for that Cirque du Soleil in Central Florida particularly at Downtown Disney it is likely that there would have never been the invention of a firewhip—which is something I have become known for with my small jaunts into entertainment. So Guy Laliberté with just a little help from the Canadian government invented a new concept for an animal free circus that has raked the world with creative ambition as one of the most astute entrepreneurs there is. Guy in a relatively short period of time went from a carefree street performer breathing fire into a one of the world’s richest men becoming one of the world’s first space tourists. Guy was able to purchase a ticket in excess of $35 million dollars through a company called Space Adventures who booked him on a Russian rocket destined for the International Space Station.

In many ways all the companies such as the Virgin Galactic endeavor I have been so keen on will be much more affordable opportunities for civilians to move into space. Guy—who is hardly a bastion of conservatism, represents the excessive hunger that the human mind has for a fate destined in space. Too many people, particularly liberals who want to make a religion out of earth worship have attempted to designate the hunger for space as a “dream for the extreme rich.” But what is behind their fearful utterances is the reality that people like Guy Laliberté have opened space to the minds of as many people as Cirque du Soleil has for changing the definition of a circus experience. A ticket aboard Virgin Galactic will only cost $250,000 dollars as opposed to Guy’s experience-which was fairly rigorous. Virgin Galactic’s attempt will be comparatively much more luxurious and inexpensive.

Guy didn’t find just being wealthy fulfilling. He had the world at his feet, yet it wasn’t enough. He had the means to purchase a ticket to space without it draining his bank account, so he did so for the opportunity to scratch at the boundaries of earth. His story carrying him to the deck of his private ship contemplating space travel is a fascinating one that is a tale of hope that should be inspirational to anyone. It wasn’t about being wealthy that made him into such a rich man, it was in pushing himself to new challenges that created it by default—they way it is supposed to work. His wealth is not to be hated—or envied—it is simply the byproduct of a mind at work that happened to change the way everyone sees a circus performance.

Seeking a career in the performing arts, Guy Laliberté toured Europe as a folk musician and busker after quitting college. By the time he returned home to Canada in 1979, he had learned the art of fire-breathing. Although he became “employed” at a hydroelectric power plant in James Bay, his job ended after only three days due to a labour strike. He decided not to look for another job, instead supporting himself on his unemployment insurance. He helped organize a summer fair in Baie-Saint-Paul with the help of a pair of friends named Daniel Gauthier and Gilles Ste-Croix.[6][9]

Gauthier and Ste-Croix were managing a youth hostel for performing artists named Le Balcon Vert at that time. By the summer of 1979, Ste-Croix had been developing the idea of turning the Balcon Vert, and the talented performers who lived there, into an organized performing troupe. As part of a publicity stunt to convince the Quebec government to help fund his production, Ste-Croix walked the 56 miles (90 km) from Baie-Saint-Paul to Quebec City on stilts. The ploy worked, giving the three men the money to create Les Échassiers de Baie-Saint-Paul. Employing many of the people who would later make up Cirque du Soleil, Les Échassiers toured Quebec during the summer of 1980.[17][18]

Although well received by audiences and critics alike, Les Échassiers was a financial failure. Laliberté spent that winter in Hawaii plying his trade while Ste-Croix stayed in Quebec to set up a nonprofit holding company named “The High-Heeled Club” to mitigate the losses of the previous summer. In 1981, they met with better results. By that fall, Les Échassiers de Baie-Saint-Paul had broken even. The success inspired Laliberté and Ste-Croix to organize a summer fair in their hometown of Baie-Saint-Paul.[17]

This touring festival, called “La Fête Foraine“, first took place in July 1982. La Fête Foraine featured workshops to teach the circus arts to the public, after which those who participated could take part in a performance. Ironically, the festival was barred from its own hosting town after complaints from local citizens.[19] Laliberté managed and produced the fair over the next couple years, nurturing it into a moderate financial success. But it was in 1983 that the government of Quebec gave him a $1.5 million grant to host a production the following year as part of Quebec’s 450th anniversary celebration of the French explorer Jacques Cartier’s discovery of Canada. Laliberté named his creation “Le Grand Tour du Cirque du Soleil“.[6][20]

The rest was history making Laliberté one of the wealthiest people on the planet. But feeling drained and unchallenged he began to look toward space after learning of a civilian going there in 2001 that had opened his mind to the possibility. So he bought his ticket through Space Adventures and trained with the Russian astronauts for a trip aboard their rocket for a grand adventure into space in 2009. Space is the next Gold Rush; there are manufacturing opportunities on asteroids and in the zero-G environments that will simply carry mankind to an entirely new evolutionary stage. Politics, philosophy and religion will have to be completely redefined—education totally overhauled just to deal with the psychosis of a species scrambling to space. It will be as unlike anything anybody has ever seen just as Cirque du Soleil is nothing like the old Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus acts—they both take place under a tent or arena, but one is an extreme evolution over the other to the point that they are barely recognizable as being born for the same intent. The jump into space which is going to explode over the next decade with the kind of wave that ushered in the Internet will change completely the way everyone does business.

Those who ride that wave will do well; those who resist it will plunge into a poor state. Virgin Galactic will likely be the first company to bring satellites to the furthest corners of the world giving Internet access to the poorest village of Africa providing those people access to entrepreneurial activity which will give them access to wealth. Hollywood’s Lost Opportunities: Bo and Luke Duke return to the General Lee

I once had an interesting discussion with Skip Press, the author of several books on screenwriting and an instructor of the topic in Hollywood. He was even kind enough to put me in touch with Steven Spielberg’s manager but in my endeavors I hit a brick wall of opposition there centering on the ridiculous progressive belief that characters written for the screen needed to be flawed. Skip Press is a good guy and a very helpful and generous person—but he and I disagreed fundamentally about the very nature of character narrative. He will tell writers that the best way to get a screenplay funded and made for the big screen in Hollywood is to write a comedy, a vampire flick, or a story filled with flawed characters that mass audiences can relate to. I on the other hand have no interest in such topics, my characters are always strong—nearly flawlessly strong, and they take life very seriously—certainly not a comedic flair for the irrelevant. There are no fart jokes in my material—so Skip tried to advise me where I was wrong and needed to correct my approach—which I was not interested in resulting in the referred to “wall.”

Over many years I stand by my argument, there are many vampire flicks that have come and gone, many comedies that have drifted off into irrelevancy—but the kind of films I have always loved and are still loved by millions even if the quality of the originals are cheesy–have stuck around. To that consideration, I wrote my novel Tail of the Dragon which stayed sold-out at Amazon.com nine months of the year my publisher carried it as a direct tribute to the Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey and the Bandit violating every modern law of content writing—because I still love those stories and wanted to update that type of content. And I’m not alone. Recently as an ad for Auto Trader illustrated with great spectacle the Duke boys returned to their famous car the General Lee to film a two-minute commercial that featured a good old classic car chase. Bo and Luke Duke were looking for a faster, more updated General Lee to outrun the more modern police cars in hot pursuit. It was a lot of fun, and a very clever campaign which can be seen above. The Dukes of Hazzard was a dynamic slapstick comedy and each of the characters was an exaggeration of a real life counterpart. Boss Hogg was the epitome of the crony capitalist corrupt to his very core with a name resembling a pig. Daisy Duke, who still has an impact on our modern culture with Daisy Duke shorts was a dream girl who was nice, loyal, beautiful, feminine enough to be everyone’s favorite mother, sister, or wife, but strong enough to hold her own with the guys. Then of course there were the Duke Boys, Bo and Luke. Both of the guys looked like male models and were good clean people who didn’t drink too much, did not smoke, did not curse, and always—always helped people who were in trouble. They were the closest thing to perfect human beings that there was on television and at the end of each show they always won. They always overcame any obstacle and achieved their objective without being hateful monsters.

Now, over 35 years later people still hunger for that show. They still want Bo and Luke Duke as the Auto Trader commercial eloquently displayed. Their popularity is so intense that there is even a 2014 Christmas album coming out featuring the characters from the Dukes of Hazzard. That old television show is still popular, even with young people who weren’t even born when it originally aired. It was nice to see Tom Wopat and John Schneider playing the Dukes again. Wopat was (63) in that Auto Trader commercial and still in fantastic shape. Schneider was (54) and has even been successful as a song writer and performer—after all he became a born-again Christian while living with none other than Johnny Cash. They are just good dudes who have spent their careers making decently clean entertainment. But for all of their lives no matter what they do elsewhere, they will always be known as the Duke Boys which they embrace openly.

That returns us back to the premise that Hollywood screenplays should feature, comedies, vampires, or some other emotional travesty to become a viable seller–and the answer is a resounding NO. Hollywood is losing massive amounts of money by producing that kind of crap as opposed to more of the material represented by the Duke Boys. Movie audiences want bold, flawless characters as much as possible. If they want flaws, they’ll look in the mirror for free. They go to the movies and watch television to see something greater—not to revel in mediocrity.

Hollywood as they currently are for the most part with only a few exceptions—mostly coming from filmmakers like Christopher Nolan and his brother, and a few others—are completely wrong in their selections of cinematic material to purchase and produce. The Hollywood studio system is a rudderless vessel caught in the tumultuous chaos of river rapids. By default their projects will move down river although not very efficiently. They bounce off a lot of rocks in the process and take on enormous damage—and they are slow to get where they want to go. Material like the Dukes of Hazzard may be frowned upon by the social reformers who think it’s better to get wet and banged up in the rapids of life toward humbling imperfection as opposed to just jumping over the river in the General Lee—but they would be wrong. Nobody remembers the loser who chooses to just cruise down the rapids of story telling—they remember the daredevils who seek to leap the gorge and the river all together—and those that survive are always loved and memorialized for their valor in the effort. That is what the Dukes of Hazzard mean to our 2014 American culture.

It is better to have characters who are so larger than life that they are silly compared to reality than to have grimly realistic characters who really aren’t much better than the slugs who often populate the lives of most people. It is in that yearning that Bo and Luke Duke still have star appeal and represent a time when men were men, women were women, and good wanted to defeat evil instead of make friends with it that fuels that hunger for the Duke Boys. Hollywood has missed many opportunities convincing nice screenwriters like Skip Press that they need to bend their projects to the will of movie producers who fall in love with Democratic politicians and feel good social policies. The core of America does not relate—so the lack of box office take and quick life-spans of most modern films—such as 22 Jump Street and Let’s be Cops will always lose their audience before the Duke Boys or a classic Clint Eastwood cop drama like Dirty Harry. Average is not memorable, but super good is—and in the context of television and movies in modern entertainment, there were few better than Bo and Luke Duke. Their short two-minute commercial for Auto Trader was better than most feature films and television from over the last 30 years—and that is truly a sad statement that only Hollywood can look in the mirror and blame.

Return of the McDonald’s McRib: One of the greatest gifts of capitalism

I spent the previous weekend riding 24 miles on my bicycle for the first time in over 20 years. It’s something I just wanted to do, and the journey took roughly three hours against the wind. I have always enjoyed riding bikes. The last time I had that particular bike out was nearly 10 years ago when I racked it to Hilton Head Island with the rest of my family and we rode them all over that island. But since then, there really wasn’t a good reason to get it out. So I broke it out just to see if I could still ride those kinds of distances—and the answer was that I could. While riding I had to drive past our local McDonald’s and I noticed that the McRib was back for its annual appearance which is always a favorite in our family. So naturally my wife went back up to that McDonald’s once she received my report not just once, but five times during the same weekend to get for us McRib meals for lunch, dinner, and just snacks as the inclination provoked us. What a delight those are.

I love McDonald’s. Sure the food is not the healthiest in the world, but when you need something in your stomach quick, they are just wonderful. One of my favorite aspects of traveling is visiting new McDonald’s restaurants that I’ve never been to before—especially for breakfast. Each one is an oasis of capitalism and I cherish them. Some of my favorites are the one in Eaton, Ohio along RT 127; another is on I-10 in Florida just outside of Jacksonville. Yet another is the one outside of Universal Studios in Florida. Another is the one in Carrollton, Kentucky which we stop at about 6 to 7 times a year while visiting family in Louisville. Wherever they are, I love McDonald’s, I love their Big Macs, I love their Sausage McMuffin’s with Egg. And I love……LOVE their McRibs. When those come out each year my wife and I eat at McDonald’s three to five times a week. After my bike ride and the calories I burned from the exercise I ate three McRibs back to back and loved every last drop of oozing barbecue which dripped from them.

In the early days of my company Cliffhanger Research and Development when I needed extra money to pay my yearly taxes because I had not paid enough through the year—I would often work at fast food restaurants to make a few thousand extra dollars to cover tax bills so that they didn’t pile up while revenue generating aspects of the business could be developed. I have worked at Wendy’s, I have worked at Frisch’s, and I have worked at McDonald’s—so I have a clear understanding of what goes on behind the scenes. I always feel better about the food coming out of McDonald’s as opposed to a little family restaurant because I know the large company has everything as idiot proof as food preparation can be. They literally take the error out of food prep so uncooked chicken and raw vegetables are not even an option. The method that a Big Mack is made is so fast that there isn’t much time for a disgruntled worker to tamper with the food. Sure it happens, but it happens less at McDonald’s than just about everywhere else because the process is so fast and mechanical, that there isn’t time for the vandalism of food. At the Frisch’s I worked at if a cook thought a guy in the dinning room didn’t deserve to be with a particular date they thought was attractive—they’d spit on their Big Boy. It actually happened a lot. Nobody ever knew so long as the tartar sauce covered up the saliva. The cooks would laugh behind the safety of their line as they watched their target eat their vandalized burger unknowing.

At McDonald’s there is too much visibility and the pace of food sales too great for such shenanigans. The food is usually sold within minutes of being prepared and the workers are too consumed with the basic needs of moving product than worrying about who is sitting in the dinning room with whom. The food itself is precooked off-site with idiot proof machines guaranteed to give customers food that won’t kill them—because of the large amount of food that McDonald’s offers the public on a daily basis. To watch a line leader prepare a table full of Sausage McMuffins with Egg is literally a work of art as the eggs are all real and grilled in a very specific way with complex—idiot free presses that always fascinated me with their precise timing.

When I eat at McDonald’s I never worry about my food. I don’t expect a steak dinner from a place like Jags in West Chester. I expect good food that fills my belly fast with as little tampering from human hands as possible. Another favorite McDonald’s in my family is the one in downtown Gatlinburg. A few years ago my wife wanted a new purse so we went to Gatlinburg for the day to let her go shopping for a very specific design she had in mind. After a few hours in town the mission was accomplished and we stopped by our McDonald’s there and had a couple of Big Mac meals, then left on our motorcycle for home. Prior trips had us visiting that same McDonald’s before a hard day of hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains living completely off the breakfast served uniquely by McDonald’s. I was still eating my Sausage McMuffin with Egg as we were parking near the trail to begin our journey and it filled me for the entire day in the mountains.

So after 24 miles on a bicycle, McRib sandwiches from McDonald’s were a very special treat.   I love everything about those meals, the McRib of course, but the French Fries and the Coca Cola all taste so much better. As my wife is about to pick some up for dinner she’ll tell me to find something on TV to watch when she gets back. She leaves and I scan through our DVR programs and literally by the time I find something good to watch she is back with smoking hot McRibs freshly made with delectable Fries and an oversized Coke—the whole process might take ten minutes including the drive out of our garage and back. McDonald’s is just a wonderful invention of capitalism and such a delight to have in our lives.

 

But there is nothing better than the time of year when McRibs are offered by McDonald’s. There is nothing better than the constant reminders of capitalism during the Holiday season topped with the yearly delight of a McRib sandwich. It is productivity that makes those combinations so wonderful—the ability to make good food cheaply and very quickly that serves best the interests of people like me. I wish every corner of the world had their own McDonald’s so they could share such treasures. Perhaps they could if only they embraced capitalism with more vigor—because it takes capitalism to make McDonald’s run correctly. It is machines over the fallacies of people who make McDonald’s safer than your average “mom and pop” restaurant. It is their ability to control the market forces of food production that makes them such an American powerhouse in the economy, and it is their ability to stand as testaments of capitalism in a world trying to default to socialism. For me, there is nothing better than a McDonald’s McRib not just because they taste good—but because they are reminders of the values that make America great. And I never tire of them.
