Kristin Bell Begging for Tuppence: The falsehood of a living wage

It was nearly unbearable to watch all the idiots crying in front of Wal-Mart on Black Friday 2014 protesting in favor of a “living wage.” The radical concept of inconveniencing shoppers trying to impose an unrealistic minimum wage reminded me of the absolutely preposterous video done by Kristin Bell from Funny or Die mimicking Marry Poppins. In a parody the Disney character (played by Kristin Bell) she quits her job because the Banks family won’t pay her more money. According to Bell’s character she is struggling to make ends meet at $7.25, the federal minimum wage, pleading for a $3 raise. Bell, who is a young talented kid ignorant about basic economic concepts, has swallowed the socialist notion of a minimum wage without any critical thinking espousing the same stupidity as the Wal-Mart protestors who are attacking the shopping giant with a contentious desire to unionize those employees.

http://money.cnn.com/2014/07/25/news/economy/mary-poppins-minimum-wage/index.html

Rightly, Reason Magazine answered Bell’s video with a Mary Poppins satire of their own against the federal increase of minimum wage laws. The unintended consequence of increases in minimum wage is that the money has to come from someplace—business owners are in the business to make money, and wage increases cut into their profit margins—which determine whether or nor they wish to involve themselves in the risky business of operating a money-making enterprise. If employees become too troublesome and desire more money than they are worth—a smart business owner to maintain their interest in a business must replace those employees with something more reliable—like a machine.

Already in manufacturing 3D printing is threatening to remove many delicate manufacturing jobs that would have before been done with a punch press or plastic injection machine. Even fast food restaurants are nearing a phase where they could be almost completely automated. The only reason they presently aren’t is because wage labor is still cheaper. But at a $15 dollar rate—nobody will bother—they’ll just buy the machines and cut the cry baby employees. Machines don’t unionize and they do what you tell them to—and they don’t have unrealistic expectations regarding personal value.

Ironically Bell in her video complains that Social Security and other taxes are removed from her check before she sees much of the money and this is why she needs more money—well—welcome to the club. Anybody who works sees this theft of their weekly paychecks with a wealth redistribution scam that favors the lazy and unmotivated. But it was the same progressives who are behind this minimum wage increase who voted for all those stupid “society” projects like Medicare, Socialist Security, and a progressive tax system. Now they want more money on their weekly paychecks to pay for the stupid things they voted for which is utterly ridiculous. It was progressive mismanagement which caused this issue of depleted personal revenue.

The protestors who want to shut down Wal-Mart are utter idiots because if they eventually are successful society will lose the stand-alone stores that are quite a community asset for those who have them. People won’t rush out to a store with a bunch of radical union protestors to buy their cloths and milk. If it becomes too much of a pain in the ass, they’ll just order what they need online and have it delivered to their house. Twice over the Thanksgiving holiday recently I sat in the comfort of my chair at home next to a roaring fire—sipping on a Mello Yello, watching football, and ordered items from my iPad. Two days later those items arrived on my front porch. All I had to do was open my door to retrieve them—that is my concept of shopping. Occasionally my wife drags me to Wal-Mart which has value because I don’t have to wait for the shipping of the item—as Wal-Mart has already done that part for me. That is what the brick and mortar store offers—immediate gratification. But if that experience isn’t gratifying—and cheap—people will reject it.

Consider when we go to the bank these days to get money—so we can go shopping. I used to hate going through the window talking to a person who sometimes gave me back the wrong amount of money. I much prefer the ATM because in 20 years of using them, they have never miscounted my money and are dependable every time—the average transaction time is 4 minutes—then I’m off onto something I would rather be doing. Progressives would argue that what we are losing is the human contact which makes us all sensitive to each other’s needs. But that squishy sentiment isn’t often the reality. Unless the person working with you is pleasant—I’d rather deal with a machine. For instance, going to the license bureau is always unpleasant. There you have a bunch of unhappy government workers who know you can’t go anyplace else—and that you have to do what they say. So they take their time, are often cranky, and have no fear of competition. If the minimum wage activists get their way with Wal-Mart and McDonald’s what we will end up with is a bunch of grumpy nags bitching about everything asked of them—and nobody wants that.

Just the other day my wife and I were going through the McDonald’s drive thru picking up some McRibs and the people working the window were nice on both the money end and the push-out window. It was actually a pleasant experience to receive my food from a real human being and it made me want to order again a few hours later, so my wife and I went back up for dinner to get more food. But that’s not always the case—sometimes people who you know don’t want to be there are at the window and you can’t wait to get your food and be off and away from them. They are the kind of people who clock into their time clocks at the last possible moment and leave as soon as possible when their shift is over. You can always tell a bad worker because they are the type who stands at a time clock wanting to leave the moment they can. Their behavior carries over into their productive output. It gives them away on sight—you can tell who they are by their body language. Those people are not worth $15 dollars an hour. They are not worth a mythical “living” wage as determined by a bunch of knuckle dragging progressives. They are lucky to have a job at all, and if Wal-Mart and McDonald’s have to pay those types of people more money, they are better off investing in a machine that will do the work more reliably, and cheaper. Because the goal of every business is to MAKE MONEY—not give things away for free.

The Kristin Bell Mary Poppins character is far different from the Walt Disney version. The Disney version might be worth a few more dollars for what she brought to the table but the Bell version is the kind of baby sitter who brings over her boyfriend the moment the parents leave the house. When the parents return they find that Bell has wrecked their house with a rave party complete with drug paraphernalia strewn about and the kids out cold from intoxication. Then Bell gives the parents a bill saying that she’ll sue them if they don’t pay her $15 per hour instead of the $7 they agreed on since her boyfriend wrecked her car leaving that house intoxicated, since the parents would be responsible for what happens at their house. Then Bell would complain and protest about how greedy the parents were because they still refused to pay, or hire her for another night. After all, she needs money—so somebody owes her some.

Human beings can be better than a machine to deal with, but only under certain circumstances, and none of those circumstances are brought about with an increase in the minimum wage. Such an increase doesn’t just impact jobs on the bottom end, but raises all wage levels with artificial inflation which is why people support such a stupid proposal. People, who currently make $15 an hour which is a good wage, would want to be compensated at $20 because some fast food worker is now making what they once did. And if they don’t get it, it’s better for them to quit the harder job so they can make milk money at a $15 wage at Wal-Mart. Only people who don’t understand how money is made and why businesses do anything support a minimum wage increase. Those who do understand find the proposal reprehensible—because they know that the unintended consequence is what the video from Reason Magazine revealed. Machines are more reliable when the expectations of employees are too great. When humans become a pain in the ass, they will find themselves jobless in a hurry—and Kristin Bell’s Mary Poppins would find herself begging for a tuppence within a few days of walking out on employer with her broken umbrella and terrible attitude. Because nobody wants to deal with a bitch like that—the money just isn’t worth it.

Obama’s Illegal Immigrant Executive Order: The violation against a meritocracy

To explain why Obama’s executive order on immigration is so dangerous requires a bit of a deconstruction—then rebuilt education. John Boehner doesn’t understand it, nor does Mitch McConnell or most of Washington D.C. for that matter. Most members of upper management in typical company structures and the typical unionized slug—they don’t get it. Most every member of every college, most members of the various social clubs, most public school administrators—they don’t get it either. The real evil that is the net result of Obama’s executive orders imposed during his particular presidency are lost to most people because they have lost the definition of value and forgotten the importance of merit. Glenn Beck had a wonderful break-down of the post executive order Obama imposition with the following video describing how Obama’s executive order destroys the value of merit among immigrants and why that is so dangerous, and destructive to the American experience.

If you really care about somebody—or some people—the responsible thing is not to rob them of their merit, their ability to earn for themselves knowledge, resources and experience. For instance when raising a child it is better to let them walk than to carry them around, even if there is danger such as crossing a busy street. If you teach the child self-reliance, they will be able to do it without help in the future empowering them to navigate the world safely. Carrying the child might seem compassionate, but ultimately robs them of the ability to function without the assistance of others—and the opinions that come with them. Merit cannot be purchased with a degree from college. A piece of paper on the wall of an office does not make anyone qualified to be one of the “wise ones” as people like Obama believe. The pretense that one can buy a degree with money and time invested into a four to eight year education is a false one. The belief that the pain earned through trials and tribulations could be avoided was the primary reason that post World War II parents sent their children to college only to be corrupted there by left-winged radicals teaching the social safety net of big progressive government—and those kids had kids of their own who are among the laziest and discombobulated yet known to the human race. Too many from that age group have a hard time getting up to go to work let along leading productive lives because they have had merit ripped from their lives by an education process that sought to destroy it with the promise that obedience to organizational charts would solve all the world’s problems.

Obama is addicted to the organizational chart of Washington D.C. politics. His Democratic party was destroyed by Republicans in virtually every corner of the nation and they are blaming him for his bad presidency. Democrats still feel that Obama didn’t do enough to help many senators and congressional members win seats during the 2014 Election. Obama was so toxic that many didn’t want his help, but now with clarity of hindsight and the need to blame someone beside themselves Obama is a good person to charge. Obama being the typical improperly educated oaf that he is spent a lifetime of having everything given to him by a mother who was guilty of placing him in bad male company, grandparents guilty of raising a crappy daughter who became a crappy mother—lovers of his mother who were communist revolutionaries, and college professors who wanted to blow up the federal government but instead invested their efforts into the color of Obama’s skin to place him behind American defense and into the White House to undo the Western Imperial evil imposing its will to the rest of the world. Obama as a kid never had a chance. He had merit robbed from him as a kid and has since stood wherever other people told him to and said what they wrote for him to read from. He has no thoughts of his own, he is not his own man—Obama is an imprisoned soul destroyed from birth and raised to be a terrorist bureaucrat using organizational charts to replace merit to rule over others. So when Democrats lost the election of 2014 the powers that move Obama’s mouth—those “Open Border” advocates, those radicals at Think Progress and other ultra liberal organizations demanded that Obama accomplish something in his last two years beneficial to them so to cut their loses. That’s why Obama signed the executive order for illegal immigrants offering protection at the voting booth for Democrats already losing the philosophical debate across the North American continent.

Obama however is a rather typical person even though he gets to maintain the illusion of being a king from the Oval Office. There are too many people now in America addicted to their offices, to their nameplates, to their titles yet they are ineffective as leaders because they lost the value of merit in their lives believing that papers like executive orders and college degrees could be suitable substitutes.   They were wrong. Most businesses across the world now function with complete idiots at their helm because of this treacherous disease taught in colleges of every kind that a plutocracy, bureaucracy, or even a monarchy has more value than a meritocracy. Yet America was founded by those seeking a meritocracy not a democracy which would simply issue by popular opinion who the ruling class would be over those who were supposed to be subjects based on how many years they attended a university. In the Obama way of thinking college professors because they never really leave the education system should rule the world because they put the most years into an education system that creates the democracy which then issues out power through popular elections. In that type of system, giving millions of illegal immigrants the ability to vote for Democrats out of sheer thankfulness makes sense to a person vacant of values.

But the Republicans aren’t any better—they don’t understand anything that I just said because they are functioning from their own plutocracy and bureaucracy view points. They want to be in power too with a belief that they rule over others just because popular opinion placed them into an office. So they foolishly sued a president that actually controls the legal system—and is a snake oil lawyer to begin with—meaning their silly piece of paper will do nothing and go nowhere. There is no merit in Republican actions, so there will be no respect for their actions. Their lawsuit is just another piece of worthless paper passing from one hand of bureaucrats to another.

There is nothing worse than a worthless person who needs their ego massaged and people who function in life like Obama cost more to the organizations that employ them than anything they attempt to productively do. They are worthless because their beliefs cause them to believe in organizational charts over the value of merit so their focus is always to climb higher on that chart so that they can sign an executive order like Obama did, instead of actually performing tasks that require thought and skill in concert with others operating from the same motivations. Worthless people don’t begin that way—but are taught to be that way through their education systems. Most children are wonderful until their parents screw them up with the assistance of 13 years of government schooling. Meet a child at 7 and the world is open to them—their eyes are bright and wisdom is emitting from them by the handfuls. Meet a child ten years later at 17 and often you have a slug—a confused oaf lost, confused, and primarily concerned with satisfying their animal instincts—eating, disposing of their waste, and reproducing through mating customs. You meet a future Obamanation of young fools ill prepared to live in a meritocracy perfectly willing to surrender their lives to rulers—because they are crippled in their educations of how to think with value instead of social structure.

That is what Obama did with his executive order aimed at amnesty for illegal immigrants. It is also why everyone is missing the point in the aftermath. A nation cannot survive if it does not function from merit—that desire to earn things instead of being given them. Too many kids today expect to just show up for something and be given money, or a piece of paper telling them they are good, or smart. But they lack the merit in actually earning it. Obama has spent his life in this way, so he sees no reason to just make it easy for illegal immigrants to become citizens—after all his party all along wanted to overload the system so to bring down the financial power of Imperial America from the inside anyway—and amnesty helps them do it. Yet, Obama just put another nail in the coffin of merit showing millions of young people that the organizational chart is more important than earning a living the honorable way. Obama has demonstrated that if you can get to the top of the organization chart with lies, deceit, and even corruption that you can literally write laws that control the lives of millions of others. That is where the failure in Obama’s executive order for illegal immigrants is of an utmost travesty in justice—not because it breaks the law in so many ways—but takes aim at merit in America and suppresses it even further than it was before Obama’s demoralizing presidency.

Return of the McDonald’s McRib: One of the greatest gifts of capitalism

I spent the previous weekend riding 24 miles on my bicycle for the first time in over 20 years. It’s something I just wanted to do, and the journey took roughly three hours against the wind. I have always enjoyed riding bikes. The last time I had that particular bike out was nearly 10 years ago when I racked it to Hilton Head Island with the rest of my family and we rode them all over that island. But since then, there really wasn’t a good reason to get it out. So I broke it out just to see if I could still ride those kinds of distances—and the answer was that I could. While riding I had to drive past our local McDonald’s and I noticed that the McRib was back for its annual appearance which is always a favorite in our family. So naturally my wife went back up to that McDonald’s once she received my report not just once, but five times during the same weekend to get for us McRib meals for lunch, dinner, and just snacks as the inclination provoked us. What a delight those are.

I love McDonald’s. Sure the food is not the healthiest in the world, but when you need something in your stomach quick, they are just wonderful. One of my favorite aspects of traveling is visiting new McDonald’s restaurants that I’ve never been to before—especially for breakfast. Each one is an oasis of capitalism and I cherish them. Some of my favorites are the one in Eaton, Ohio along RT 127; another is on I-10 in Florida just outside of Jacksonville. Yet another is the one outside of Universal Studios in Florida. Another is the one in Carrollton, Kentucky which we stop at about 6 to 7 times a year while visiting family in Louisville. Wherever they are, I love McDonald’s, I love their Big Macs, I love their Sausage McMuffin’s with Egg. And I love……LOVE their McRibs. When those come out each year my wife and I eat at McDonald’s three to five times a week. After my bike ride and the calories I burned from the exercise I ate three McRibs back to back and loved every last drop of oozing barbecue which dripped from them.

In the early days of my company Cliffhanger Research and Development when I needed extra money to pay my yearly taxes because I had not paid enough through the year—I would often work at fast food restaurants to make a few thousand extra dollars to cover tax bills so that they didn’t pile up while revenue generating aspects of the business could be developed. I have worked at Wendy’s, I have worked at Frisch’s, and I have worked at McDonald’s—so I have a clear understanding of what goes on behind the scenes. I always feel better about the food coming out of McDonald’s as opposed to a little family restaurant because I know the large company has everything as idiot proof as food preparation can be. They literally take the error out of food prep so uncooked chicken and raw vegetables are not even an option. The method that a Big Mack is made is so fast that there isn’t much time for a disgruntled worker to tamper with the food. Sure it happens, but it happens less at McDonald’s than just about everywhere else because the process is so fast and mechanical, that there isn’t time for the vandalism of food. At the Frisch’s I worked at if a cook thought a guy in the dinning room didn’t deserve to be with a particular date they thought was attractive—they’d spit on their Big Boy. It actually happened a lot. Nobody ever knew so long as the tartar sauce covered up the saliva. The cooks would laugh behind the safety of their line as they watched their target eat their vandalized burger unknowing.

At McDonald’s there is too much visibility and the pace of food sales too great for such shenanigans. The food is usually sold within minutes of being prepared and the workers are too consumed with the basic needs of moving product than worrying about who is sitting in the dinning room with whom. The food itself is precooked off-site with idiot proof machines guaranteed to give customers food that won’t kill them—because of the large amount of food that McDonald’s offers the public on a daily basis. To watch a line leader prepare a table full of Sausage McMuffins with Egg is literally a work of art as the eggs are all real and grilled in a very specific way with complex—idiot free presses that always fascinated me with their precise timing.

When I eat at McDonald’s I never worry about my food. I don’t expect a steak dinner from a place like Jags in West Chester. I expect good food that fills my belly fast with as little tampering from human hands as possible. Another favorite McDonald’s in my family is the one in downtown Gatlinburg. A few years ago my wife wanted a new purse so we went to Gatlinburg for the day to let her go shopping for a very specific design she had in mind. After a few hours in town the mission was accomplished and we stopped by our McDonald’s there and had a couple of Big Mac meals, then left on our motorcycle for home. Prior trips had us visiting that same McDonald’s before a hard day of hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains living completely off the breakfast served uniquely by McDonald’s. I was still eating my Sausage McMuffin with Egg as we were parking near the trail to begin our journey and it filled me for the entire day in the mountains.

So after 24 miles on a bicycle, McRib sandwiches from McDonald’s were a very special treat.   I love everything about those meals, the McRib of course, but the French Fries and the Coca Cola all taste so much better. As my wife is about to pick some up for dinner she’ll tell me to find something on TV to watch when she gets back. She leaves and I scan through our DVR programs and literally by the time I find something good to watch she is back with smoking hot McRibs freshly made with delectable Fries and an oversized Coke—the whole process might take ten minutes including the drive out of our garage and back. McDonald’s is just a wonderful invention of capitalism and such a delight to have in our lives.

But there is nothing better than the time of year when McRibs are offered by McDonald’s. There is nothing better than the constant reminders of capitalism during the Holiday season topped with the yearly delight of a McRib sandwich. It is productivity that makes those combinations so wonderful—the ability to make good food cheaply and very quickly that serves best the interests of people like me. I wish every corner of the world had their own McDonald’s so they could share such treasures. Perhaps they could if only they embraced capitalism with more vigor—because it takes capitalism to make McDonald’s run correctly. It is machines over the fallacies of people who make McDonald’s safer than your average “mom and pop” restaurant. It is their ability to control the market forces of food production that makes them such an American powerhouse in the economy, and it is their ability to stand as testaments of capitalism in a world trying to default to socialism. For me, there is nothing better than a McDonald’s McRib not just because they taste good—but because they are reminders of the values that make America great. And I never tire of them.

David Pook ‘s White Privilage: Radical co-writer of Common Core poisons children’s minds–on purpose

The Freedom Outpost got it right when they captured a story about Dr. David Pook who is one of the co-authors of the new Common Core standards. Most politicians including Jeb Bush, and financiers like Bill Gates think that by just stating they are dedicated to better education is equivalent to a financial commitment, or a new policy. They fail to understand that the content of the type of education that government schools build by their policies will have a direct impact on the success or failure of education methods. It is not enough just to say you support something, and it is not enough to throw money at it. Education has to be of a type of content that is actually useful. And as many studies into Common Core have revealed, it is clear that its content was assembled by radical leftists who intend to instruct young people into become future radicals. In that regard, David Pook was caught—the details as reported are below:

According to Onan Coca, “Dr. David Pook is a professor at Granite State College in Manchester, New Hampshire. He’s also the chair of the History Department and one of the authors of the Common Core standards. He was a guest at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics when he opened up on his reasons for participating in the creation of the Common Core standards.”

So what were his reasons? You are about to learn the motivation behind Common Core.

The truth is, not surprisingly to some, that Common Core is very racist and very political.

According to Dr. Pook, he helped write it to balance the scales because he, and many others, are benefiting from some mythical ‘white privilege‘ that was not earned.

http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/11/common-core-co-author-admits-wrote-curriculum-end-white-privilege/#ZHBPthTdxzcQCmdu.99

It is impossible for any hope nice guys like Bill Gates and Jeb Bush could obtain as far as education quality when they surrender Common Core to radicals like Dr. Pook who is an obvious bleeding heart liberal given extreme power to destroy the minds of young people through progressive nonsense.

White privilege in 2014 America is a myth—it does not exist. The quality of one people over another is completely dictated by the content of their character. It is impossible to build a productive culture when young people want to live a “narco” life as opposed to a Christian rancher, or an engineer with six years of schooling directly applicable to their field of study. Those two lifestyles are not compatible—one will be successful one will not and it has nothing—absolutely nothing—to do with skin color.

There is no way Common Core could work even under the best of circumstances—because government schools are run by progressive labor unions and the policies are set by pin-headed politicians. When radical liberals are allowed to set the pace for all the nations’ standards on education—then failure on a massive scale will be the direct by-product. This is what has happened even in these early phases and every governor who has signed up their states to operate under Common Core standards—they have doomed their youth through the education system to guaranteed failure unprepared for adulthood. Bill Gates Company Microsoft invented the Excel spreadsheet which I think is one of the most magnificent inventions of the 20th century. Using his spreadsheets the path to failure in public education is very easy to see—the numbers simply don’t add up to success when it is front loaded with progressive garbage and liberal jargon.

There is nothing positive which can come out of a belief in white privilege other than the belief that goods and services are dished out based on the color of one’s skin—which is absolutely not the case. It is the decisions that one makes with their life which dictates if they will live as a parasitic scum in a government slum, or a productive six figure earner living in a suburban neighborhood where the greatest crime occurring is the occasional toilet paper tossed across lawns during graduation periods.

David Pook is just another example of why it is dangerous to depend on one common standard set by government for students to achieve ignoring the benefits of competition to make those standards better. Without competition people like Pook look like geniuses—but with competition, they look like the idiot radicals that they really are. That is why they support a Common Core standard in the first place—and why it is wrong and vile taking American children backwards toward liberalism instead of forward to productive success—regardless of sex or skin color.

The Curse of Santa Muerta: Washington D.C. legalization of pot and the “narco” culture

On August 25, 2011, four vehicles loaded with armed Los Zetas gunmen pulled up to the entrance of Casino Royale in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. After spraying the entrance of the casino with gunfire, they dumped gallons of gasoline at the doors and set the building ablaze. Officials claim that 52 people, mostly women, were killed in the resulting fire. Some sources indicate that the body count may have been even higher. When several members of Los Zetas were arrested, they claimed they had not intended to kill anyone, but were simply trying to intimidate the owners of the casino, who had refused to pay extortion money.

http://listverse.com/2013/08/22/ten-atrocities-committed-by-mexican-drug-cartels/

To those who passively contemplate support of the open border movement which is a major push behind amnesty and the current flood of illegal immigrants over the southern American border, and support the legalization of marijuana you are functioning from the possession of Santa Muerta, the grim reaper-like figure of the Mexican people. She has had many tributes paid to her begging safe passage of drug trafficking shipments into the United States and is the premier deity of the drug culture cartels which currently run Mexico with as much furious terrorism as ISIS is conducting in Iraq and the Syrian border. To understand how much of a threat these terrorist organizations are to American life–watch the video below. To understand how much they have penetrated our culture from the streets of New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago on down to the smallest street in the Midwest—to the music industry, into movies, into the “gangsta’ culture” of little street thugs who walk around with their pants halfway pulled down playing Grand Theft Auto into the small hours of the morning—the many shrines to Santa Muerta can be found along the coveted I-35 artery in Southern Texas. It is that curse against America invoked by the drug lords of Mexico—who have shaped young American minds and seek to destroy the country one drug shipment at a time.

Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte or, colloquially, Santa Muerte (Spanish for Our Lady of the Holy Death), is a female folk saint venerated primarily in Mexico and the Southwestern United States. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees.[1] Despite opposition by the Catholic Church, her cult arose from popular Mexican folk belief, a syncretism between indigenous Mesoamerican and Spanish Catholic beliefs and practices. Since the pre-Columbian era Mexican culture has maintained a certain reverence towards death,[2] which can be seen in the widespread commemoration of the syncretic Day of the Dead.[3] Elements of that celebration include the use of skeletons to remind people of their mortality.[4] The worship is condemned by the Catholic Church in Mexico as invalid, but it is firmly entrenched among Mexico’s lower working classes and various elements of society deemed as “outcasts”.[5]

Santa Muerte generally appears as a female skeletal figure, clad in a long robe and holding one or more objects, usually a scythe and a globe.[6] Her robe can be of any color, as more specific images of the figure vary widely from devotee to devotee and according to the rite being performed or the petition being made.[7] As the worship of Santa Muerte was clandestine until the 20th century, most prayers and other rites have been traditionally performed privately in the home. However, for the past ten years or so, worship has become more public, especially in Mexico City after Enriqueta Romero initiated her famous Mexico City shrine in 2001.[4][8][9] The number of believers in Santa Muerte has grown over the past ten to twenty years, to several million followers in Mexico, the United States, and parts of Central America. Santa Muerte has similar male counterparts in the Americas, such as the skeletal folk saints San La Muerte of Argentina and Rey Pascual of Guatemala.[9]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Muerte

Santa Muerte is now found commonly on college campuses all across America, in marijuana stores particularly in Denver and soon Washington D.C. She is a direct result of the drug cartels and their products—which is essentially the economy of the oppressed Mexicans—oppressed by the terrorism of the drug trade—a product designed to destroy human minds for short-term relief by mental evasion. No culture can survive drug abuse and with each state which ponders the legalization of marijuana for any reason—for every libertarian who begs for the “right to get high” Santa Muerte is whispering in your ear for acceptance of her death grip on your life—sent to you from the offerings given by the drug runners of the cartels.

If American law enforcement wanted to catch these drug runners all they would have to do is arrest those offering flowers, candy, fruits, water, bread or incense to the many shrines along southern American highways. There is nearly a 100% chance that a major drug trafficker would be caught. But for every cartel worker caught and put in jail covered in Santa Muerte tattoos another takes his place because Americans want to get stoned, they want to conduct their lives under the influence of intoxicants and wish to give in to the temptations promised by the evil hand of Santa Muerte who dances through their dreams with rebellious rapture and declarations of independence away from their parents of square minded conservatives.

The drug lords of Mexico fight each other constantly for territorial rights into the points of entry into America—like the I-35 corridor—which result in the kind of assassinations described at the Casino Royale in Monterrey. Those drug lords consult the supernatural aid of Santa Muerte and hope that with all the billions of dollars they inject into open border polices through American magazines, music, and movies that the minds of America will loosen up. The resistance to their drug products by American law enforcement will make legalization more appealing if supernatural aid lends a hand. Sante Muerte does not wish to operate so discreetly—she wants to be out in the open and have shrines of tribute to her from every home that has been touched by her vile evil. By flooding the border with immigrants it makes drug trafficking easier losing less shipments per run past American authorities. And with every stoned abuser in the States an alley to Sante Muerte is utilized. With legalization of marijuana comes a guaranteed supply of Mexico’s top product flowing across the border as a legitimate business. The governments of Mexico believe they can then gain control of their cartels by making the illegal activity legal and taxable—which will take away the massive profits currently enjoyed. But the drug cartels also support legalization because they can then operate legitimately out in the open and will no longer have to hide in the mountains of the Sierra Madre. They will be free to live on the coasts in Mexico, in the resort towns and sell their product directly. As resistance to border patrols weakens the DEA seizure of shipments there is more of a chance of the products reaching their destinations in Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Kansas City. With legalization of marijuana it will make smuggling cocaine, opium, and other drugs much more profitable mixed in with those shipments. That is the real intention of drug legalization and open borders advocated by the drug cartels.

Santa Muerte is the demon who is attempting to whisper America into a curse induced sleep—who seduces politicians into loose border policies so to help the drugs get to their destinations, to the abusers who want those drugs, and to the short-lived seduction of their result. Santa Muerte influence is spreading among young people who have adopted the word “narco” to refer to a lifestyle they wish to embody delivered to their minds by Santa Muerte through music and video games carrying her influence to the rudderless youth of the millennial generation. After the election of 2014 and vote to legalize marijuana in Washington D.C. it is the granted wish of Santa Muerte at work eating the offered fruit of a drug lord in Northern Mexico–fulfilling their wishes that is most at work. Soon the system will be overwhelmed, and the DEA will be defunded and Santa Muerte will rule the economy of America for the first time in history—out in the open.

Santa Muerte is already in the life of most Americans and is far more dangerous than ISIS or any Islamic driven terrorist organization. They have penetrated the culture of the United States to such an extent that they operate nearly invisible to the inquiries of the media and the conscious mind of the typical suburbanite. Santa Muerte is in the bars of Key West and strewn throughout the Caribbean and has gently whispered America into a deep sleep by her intoxicating curses of inaction. She is the greatest threat to America that there is as she is the mistress of the many drug cartels and their vile evil which seeks to destroy American capitalism with “narco-capitlism” which is essentially a more brutal form of communism. To understand it read this example from a New Yorker story of May 5th by Patrick Radden Keefe—a remarkable tale called “The Hunt for El Chapo.” Read the whole story at the link following.

Guzmán had other weaknesses. “He loves the gourmet food,” a D.E.A. official told me. From time to time, he would be spotted at an elegant restaurant in Sinaloa or in a neighboring state. The choreography was always the same. Diners would be startled by a team of gunmen, who would politely but firmly demand their telephones, promising that they would be returned at the end of the evening. Chapo and his entourage would come in and feast on shrimp and steak, then thank the other diners for their forbearance, return the telephones, pick up the tab for everyone, and head off into the night.

To those who passively contemplate support of the open boarder movement which is a major push behind amnesty and the current flood of illegal immigrants over the southern American border, and support the legalization of marijuana you are functioning from the possession of Santa Muerta, the grim reaper-like figure of the Mexican people. She has had many tributes paid to her begging safe passage of drug trafficking shipments into the United States and is the premier deity of the drug culture cartels which currently run Mexico with as much furious terrorism as ISIS is conducting in Iraq and the Syrian boarder.

She is a direct result of the drug cartels and their products—which is essentially the economy of the oppressed Mexicans—oppressed by the terrorism of the drug trade—a product designed to destroy human minds for short term relief by mental evasion.

Biden’s Cocaine Induced Hallucinations : Senate predictions only a drug addict could concieve

It appears that Joe Biden representing White House viewpoints was smoking the same type of crack that his son did when he was recently kicked out of the Navy for drug abuse. The Biden family obviously has a permissive attitude toward drug abuse as is evident by their politics, but it has migrated from just casual use to out-right believing that the hallucinations are a reality only they can see. For a politician with all the resources that come from the Obama White House—and being a so-called political heavy weight—Biden ridiculously predicted that Democrats would keep control of the senate. The evidence was extremely heavy against such a fantasy prior to the Election of 2014, yet he still went on the networks and gave speeches driven by hallucinations of hope knowing full well that his words would come back to haunt him—yet he did it anyway—as chronicled by Reuters:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Vice President Joe Biden predicted Democrats would retain control of the U.S. Senate in Tuesday’s congressional elections but said that whatever happens, Republicans would have to work harder to make sure things get done in Washington.

In an interview with CNN, Biden said he did not agree with forecasters who say Republicans are poised to capture the six seats they need to take over the Senate. They are also expected to expand their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I don’t agree with the odds-makers,” Biden said in the interview broadcast on Monday. “I predict we’re going to keep the Senate.”

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/11/04/White-House-Cites-Joe-Biden-s-Superior-Knowledge-For-Predicting-Election-Wins-For-Democrats

http://news.yahoo.com/biden-predicts-u-democrats-keep-senate-cnn-143137238.html

Just weeks prior to the election Biden’s youngest son Hunter was kicked out of the Navy for testing positive for cocaine use—yet the story by the media was nearly completely overlooked, which was a very significant report involving such a prominent politician. Cocaine is an illegal substance—yet for the progressive Democrats, they wish very much to decriminalize drug abuse obviously carrying over into destructive habits taught from parent to child. Here is one of the view media outlets who carried the story—Ben Swann—the reporter formally from Channel 19 in Cincinnati.

On Thursday, it was revealed that Vice President Joe Biden’s youngest son, 44-year-old Hunter Biden, was released from the Navy in February, after he tested positive for cocaine use.

In a statement from Hunter Biden’s lawyer, he said:

It was the honor of my life to serve in the U.S. Navy and I deeply regret and am embarrassed that my actions led to my administrative discharge. I respect the navy’s decision. With the love and support of my family I’m moving forward.

Hunter Biden graduated from Yale with a law degree, and he currently works in Washington as the private equity executive and board director of an international energy firm, in addition to practicing law in Connecticut.

Yahoo News reported that Biden, “faces no automatic review of his law license in Connecticut following his discharge from the U.S. Navy Reserve after testing positive for cocaine use.

According to Connecticut’s Statewide Bar Counselor, Michael P. Bowler, lawyers in Connecticut face automatic review of their bar admission only when they have been convicted of a crime.

http://benswann.com/vice-presidents-son-discharged-from-navy-for-cocaine-use-keeps-license-to-practice-law/

The Vice President’s son was discharged from the military which is run by President Obama while both of them currently reside in the White House for consuming an illegal substance yet nothing was said about it. And just weeks later Joe Biden was confident enough to tell the media that the senate would be retained by Democrats even when all the evidence pointed to other results—which eventually came true even more robustly than predicted. The only conclusion that can be surmised from these events is that Joe Biden is either ridiculously stupid and naive, or is on crack himself and should be drug tested—because he would likely fail.

Biden was arrogant enough to defy logic in favor of political ideology which is a symptom that most drug users are guilty of. They often abuse drugs so that they can escape the effects of reality upon their conscious minds—which is why drug induced users are dangerous to themselves and others. There is a reason that drugs are illegal—it is largely because it is proven that some of them—like cocaine have a detrimental effect on human beings that not only makes them dangerous and stupid but has a carry over effect into society at large imposing their destructive habit into the lives of the innocent. Alcohol is certainly a dangerous intoxicate also, but it takes much longer and a lot more consumption to arrive at the point of danger than a few lines of cocaine. People who want to cheat the evasion process of shrugging reality propose the decriminalizing of drugs—as Biden has because in his family he obviously endorses it. However, cocaine is still illegal and the Biden boy should go to jail—not just lose his standing in the Navy. Only a victim of a drug induced stupor would fail to see such a thing—just as the same condition would have been needed not to see that the Republicans were going to take the senate. For those who favor drug use and its effects—if you want to know the dangers of habitual use—just look at Vice President Biden and listen to him talk. Then you’ll know why cocaine is an illegal substance.

Defining the “Right Stuff”: Virgin Galactic has it, government doesn’t

There are too many in the wake of the two commercial space endeavors which tragically ended during the last week of October 2014 who still believe that the government are the professionals in space flight, whereas the private sector are the amateurs. First was the 140-foot Antares rocket operated by Orbital Sciences Corp that blew up 15 seconds after lift-off destroying $200 million dollars of investment. Then there was the even worse Virgin Galactic spaceship that suffered a structural failure and crashed killing one and injuring another pilot destroying over $400 million dollars of a very unique craft. There seems to be a belief that if the federal government had been involved that these accidents wouldn’t have happened and that only the deep pockets of a looting government can fund such endeavors.

Well, here’s the deal—if it were up to the federal government there wouldn’t have been any crashes, because they wouldn’t be going up into space in the first place. They would employ a lot of engineers to sit in a room and talk about theory, they’d go to lunch and perpetually build spreadsheets of data which politicians and administrators would look at and decide that the risk was too great to act—and that they’d need more data points. This would go on for decades until everyone retires and the program gradually falls away into disrepair—which is the current experience at NASA—which is run by the government. They would not be where Virgin Galactic is today—because there are too many government bureaucrats in the way of their development.

Space travel in the fashion that it should have continued after the Apollo programs—as the Space Shuttles were already well under construction at that point in time—diminished after the rival of Russia collapsed and governments were no longer worried about nuclear weapons falling out of space. The short-sighted government simply stopped worrying about space and lost their sense of vision. They—as a collective entity–were unable to conceive of the type of space activity that Virgin Galactic is pursuing. It is beyond their reach. It doesn’t matter that the government has the ability to throw virtually unlimited amounts of money at space, what matters is that they lack the vision to do so—whereas the private sector isn’t so encumbered.

Now that the federal government is involved in the investigation of the Virgin Galactic crash, it will likely take years to get another ship ready for take-off and testing because of the bureaucratic elements involved. Government does not move at the speed of business and when they stand in the way—very little happens and by the time it does—everybody looses interest. That is the great danger involved from the Virgin Galactic disaster.

Richard Branson was extremely skilled in his press conference stating that Virgin Galactic would remain on course—which was a relief. But even he knows that it will take a monumental effort to get another ship to the phase that SpaceShipTwo was on the morning of October 31st, 2014. Mindless bureaucrats and pin-headed statesman will stand in the way of galactic adventure with a boldness they display in no other endeavor. Politicians and government workers only have valor when they hold up progress.

If not for the movies of The Right Stuff and Apollo 13 what would NASA have used as a tourism hook for the last 15 years at Kennedy Space Center? And what is the Right Stuff—I know, but do you dear reader?   I can tell you one thing, government doesn’t have it—and those who work for government either gets it by breaking the law, or by performing it before bureaucrats take over the administrative process. Would Chuck Yeager have broken the sound barrier in today’s Air Force? No. Obama and his senators would have cancelled the funding in favor of making the people in the Middle East, or Indonesia feel better about their collective contributions to science back in a day when some thought the earth was flat. Politicians have no reverence for valor, or appetite for danger. I would bet $100,000,000 dollars that the pilot who survived the crash of Virgin Galactic on Halloween would literally give everything he’s got to climb into the next plane to push the boundaries again—which is what the Right Stuff is all about. Politicians don’t understand that kind of valor. They are too busy figuring out where they want to go for lunch. They don’t risk anything, especially themselves. They are in the business of playing it safe. Test pilots and entrepreneurs like Branson are all about the risk. Politicians loot off the effort of that risk to skim tax money away for their pet programs of election security and demographic maintenance. The Right Stuff was when John Glenn told his wife she didn’t have to pose for a photograph with LBJ when she didn’t want to. Glenn’s effort was what made the voyage into space worthy; it wasn’t a worthless politician who wanted to pose for a photo-op so to gain a few percentage points of popularity to the voting public.

The people of Virgin Galactic have the Right Stuff—they show up for work when nobody cares about the thousands of decisions they have to conquer just to complete one phase of spaceship construction. When there are triumphs, they bang wine glasses together and celebrate. When they go bad, as they did on Halloween of 2014, they attend the funerals and scratch their heads to figure out what to do next. But they do what they do for the life of adventure that valor dictates. Government people don’t understand that yearning and are good for nothing toward that end—they simply get in the way.

So for those who think that these latest disasters could have been prevented if the federal government applied its extensive regulations to the task of space travel—you are sadly mistaken. The only thing that would come of that arrangement is nothing—just perpetual stagnation and a constant desire to reach two points of productivity in their tax payer funded days of employment—their lunch hour, and quitting time. Everything in between those two periods involves stalling productive output until the relief of those times present themselves. So nothing happens. That is why Virgin Galactic is the only hope for those who see space as the answer to so many modern problems. There is no plan B or no government on earth who can duplicate their efforts even with endless budgets. Because it takes the Right Stuff to go into space and Virgin Galactic is filled with them. The people who work in government aren’t.

What Happened to Mark Sennet: Bethony Station and Lakota Schools

Just for the record, Mark Sennet’s comments lately in the Pulse Journal do not reflect my involvement with No Lakota Levy. While it was true that many of the members of that levy fighting group were developers—which I support to a certain extent because they make things that do not exist before their efforts—there were some major philosophic differences between us. The pro tax people realized this when Mark went behind enemy lines looking to mend fences while we were in the middle of the fight, and the public school of Lakota exploited that in their strategy which I have blamed Mark for over the last 3 years. If he had kept quiet and done what I told him, Lakota would still be looking for their first levy passage. But, Mark as a former postal office employee was sympathetic to government employment and like an abused wife came back to them under crises. The type of developer that Mark is forces him to build alliances with the government school—so his involvement in a levy fighting group was unusual. That is the reason I found his comments just as ridiculous as others reading about his new development of Bethany Station.

“The Steiner development is a regional destination shopping center. Bethany Station will be a neighborhood shopping center (at an) obviously excellent location due to the schools and events at school and its convenient and easy access,” he (Sennet) said.

http://www.journal-news.com/news/news/more-retail-development-coming-to-liberty-twp/nhs7G/

When I came into the picture Mark was the leader of an anti-tax fighting group called Citizens Against Lakota Levy. He and I had a rivalry from the past but he invited me anyway to work with their group to help defeat the Lakota Levy attempts. At that time Mark was already feeling the stress of working against the school instead of with them. He craved being on good terms with the administration leaders and other public officials because in a lot of ways he was at their mercy during zoning hearings for his properties. In a simplified explanation the Chamber Alliance has great input into zoning approvals and school boards because they involve politics and children heavily shape the opinion of the Chamber. If he doesn’t fall in line within reason to the political machine of the area, things likely won’t go so smoothly for him during future land use hearings.

When I arrived it was to bring fresh ammunition to the fight because as a tax fighting group they were already wavering under the constant pressure. Mark as a person had a lot more in common with Joan Powell than he did me, so I knew that would be a problem eventually. I convinced the other members to repackage themselves and form No Lakota Levy. I became the spokesman as Mark drifted willingly into the shadows eventually not showing up for the meetings at all. After a few years some people forgot that he had even been involved with an anti-tax group.

During 2011 Mark and I had an obvious rift which forced the other members to choose between us. He came out at a school board meeting in favor of a levy increase if certain conditions were met. I didn’t like that he was negotiating with the government school when we obviously held the high ground and could hold it. But his attachments to the school and desire to attach his business interests to a tax payer funded entity proved too much, so he gradually withdrew all together.

The split that eventually happened between me and the rest of the No Lakota Levy members is of this nature. Since many of them had businesses that were under threat from school levy radicals, they were worried about a sustained fight and the school knew it. The rest has been documented extensively. I will forever look on that time and those people as wimps for cowering to the pressure of those who had the weaker hand. When the goal was always to leech off those weakened entities—then breaks in ranks were bound to occur.

People who have supported No Lakota Levy all this time don’t need to feel that you have been sold out by alliance. When the situation required a dirtier and more aggressive campaign most of the members simply weren’t up for the fight and that’s pretty much the gist of it. But at least they lasted longer than Mark did which led to these comments in the recent Pulse article.

Crony capitalism.

I hope this project goes belly up…..just like all the school levies that he wanted to fail…..all about the might dollar for him!

Obviously over time I developed an increasing hatred for the whole government school system and think that it should be reinvented. Mark wanted to make money off it in an alliance and those really aren’t compatible positions. I was not kicked out of a group that I started, but I was left as one of the few standing on the field of engagement by people like Mark. If Mark held strong and others like him, there would still be a resilient group against Lakota’s ridiculous spending. There would have likely been 3 out of 5 pro business people on the school board—but that was too much for most as they simply wanted to repair their relationships with the government school so that other aspects of their lives could return to normal—especially during zoning hearings.

So when he says things like he did in the paper, I don’t want my name associated with such weakness. I’m happy to call levy supporters whores and fat-assed despots all day long, but being a sell-out is not something I conduct my life with. He is free to make money and cut deals with whoever he wants—but it is important to know that he and I were not on the same page and when he stepped away from the picture and kept his hands out of the situation—we won handedly.

Renaming the Norwood Lateral: The disasterous and toxic memory of Barack Obama

You might have heard that a group of progressive liberals want to rename the Norwood Lateral in Cincinnati after Barack Obama. At first this seemed like a terrible idea–absolutely appalling. Obama will be known in history as one of the most terrible American presidents ever—even worse than the worst. I don’t say that as a racist because I’m not—I would have gladly voted for Alan Keys, Herman Cain, or Ben Carson—skin color doesn’t concern me in the least. Rather it is the content of the character of the public official and Obama is dreadfully lacking. I do sometimes use the Norwood Lateral to get back over to I-75 when visiting downtown. If Obama’s name were on the road I would likely find another way—just because I would hesitate to use a road with Obama’s name on it even if it saved me some time. Channel 12 news reported the attempt this way:

NORWOOD, Ohio (Angenette Levy) — The Norwood Lateral could be renamed for President Barack Obama. State Sen. Eric Kearney has introduced legislation in the state legislature to rename State Route 562 for the nation’s 44rd president. “The Norwood Lateral would be renamed the Barack Obama Norwood Lateral because we have the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway and so it would be a complimentary type of naming opportunity,” Sen. Kearney said. Kearney was a supporter of President Obama’s during his two election campaigns. Kearney said President Obama deserves the honor because he won Hamilton County twice as President Ronald Reagan did in the 1980’s. State Route 126 – also known as Cross County Highway – was named for Reagan in the 1990’s after he left office. “I don’t have a problem with that. I like President Obama,” said Norwood resident Charles Gatling. Norwood Mayor Tom Williams, a conservative democrat, wants the lateral’s name to stay the same.  “I’m as opposed to it as I can get,” Mayor Williams said.

http://www.local12.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/senator-wants-norwood-lateral-named-barack-obama-19657.shtml

I am likely even more opposed to Barack Obama having a cat named after him, let alone a tax payer funded road. But, after some consideration, it might actually be appropriate as the Norwood Lateral actually does represent the Obama presidency. After all, the road does run past the parking lot that used to be the Norwood General Motors plant which used to build Camaros. Unions killed the productivity at that plant and now the jobs are gone. Also, the Norwood Lateral runs past the empty lot that used to be the Showcase Cinemas of Cincinnati—one of the largest and best movie theaters in the Midwest—just twenty years ago. Now it’s gone and is an empty lot filled with grass growing between the cracks in the pavement. Also, the Norwood Lateral runs by homes that used to be some of the best in the city, but are now considered Section 8 as government intrusion into the neighborhoods there have built a dependency culture that has destroyed the local economy and crushed future investment. Where the Norwood Lateral begins used to stand Cincinnati Milacron, a vast campus of precision machinery manufacturing that dried up and died by the year 2000, just eight years before Barack Obama became president—liberal policies and a nation of labor unions killed the machining market in America giving no place to go for Cincinnati Milacron but to close. Now the buildings which used to make such technical wonders are gone and replaced by some retail shopping selling shoes and cloths made in China

Perhaps the Norwood Lateral should be named after Barack Obama after all, as it represents what he has done to the nation of America during his tenure. I won’t drive on it any longer, but others who voted for that complete idiot would and could reap the world they helped to create—lost businesses, welfare expansion, and redistribution of wealth. The only thing Obama has created during his presidency was a wasteland. He will be the first president since perhaps the Civil War that has left America less than it was before he was first elected—a depleted place destroyed by progressive politics and old hippie economic philosophy.

There would be nothing worse for the economic development of Norwood going into the future than to remind Americans of such a ridiculously stupid and terrible president than to force them to see his name each time they drive down the Norwood Lateral. Social degenerates will love to see the name of their religious savior who stole from the productive and gave to the lazy, but unfortunately for Norwood the entire community will trend toward the latter and not the former, dooming the city forever. At least the current mayor of Norwood is smart enough to understand just how toxic the name of Barack Obama will be in the future. Obama is still fashionable among radical groups for the time being, but that window is quickly closing as history is about to cast its opinion of the debacle for posterity.

What’s even worse than the possibility of naming the Norwood Lateral after Obama, it is the sheer stupidity of suggesting it in the first place as the news headlines are currently filled with his immense failures. It is a terrible idea brought forth with equally terrible timing. Naming the Norwood Lateral after the diminished president would seal the fate of Norwood forever—because there are people who feel even stronger about the guy than me and just the site of such a name is enough to cause them to go someplace else. It’s not due to race, but the reminder of such a failure. Nobody wants to remember the terrible game their favorite team played, nobody wants to remember the time they did something embarrassing—and nobody will want to remember a president who was such a sheer failure. They will do whatever they can to overlook that failure in the future and those who wish to remember are the types who are capable of nothing short of destruction.

Cancellation of Union Contracts: The self-entitlement of public workers

A regular citizen shown in the video below pulled over a police officer—a government worker who believes that they are exempt from the law. The officer was driving an unmarked police car and using it for traffic citations—which in Washington state is illegal. The private citizen knew as much and pulled over the bewildered officer. Notice the arrogance of the officer in believing that because he was a police officer, that he was held to a different standard than the rest of society.   Wisely, he realized that the citizen knew more about the law than he did, so he shut his mouth rather quickly—but his irritation at being called out for illegal action was classic.

This is what you get when you have unionized employees in charge of society. Unionized behavior doesn’t work in private industry and it certainly doesn’t work in the public sector. It is because of the lack of competition in promotions, raises, and benefits acquisition that there is so much incompetence in the public sector centering around union contracts paid for with tax payer funds. As predicted at this site four years ago, time is running out for this kind of behavior as city managers and councils are beginning to understand that the only way they can manage tax funded resources is to introduce competition to the equations so that they can get better value for the consumed dollar.

Two remarkable stories happened over the last week resulting in the cancelling of union contracts by public officials. One is the dissolving of the Lincoln Heights police department in Ohio due to excessive insurance costs triggered by union driven law suits so to move the bar of progressive activism far to the left—which has cost Lincoln Heights a lot of money. They decided to just drop their police department to stop the bleeding—which was an excellent decision. The other is the Philadelphia school system cancelling their teacher’s contract because of the excessive cost of health care contributions. The union over the years refused to budge on their golden plans with little contributions from themselves which has broken the bank leaving the only responsible thing to do is to just drop the contract. I have reprinted each story with the original links below. The Lincoln Heights story was the result of a WCPO I-Team investigation and is what journalism is supposed to be about. The Philadelphia schools system story is a Fox News feature. Both have their roots in the same crises located in different parts of the country to show that this is not a regional problem. One is in a relatively conservative area, the other a very liberal one. In the coming months and years this will become a much more common occurrence as it is the only way to properly manage tax payer resources from the greedy hands of public sector unions who just don’t know when to stop asking for more, and more, and more.

CINCINNATI – Lincoln Heights police and fire departments were shut down Thursday after a “lapse in insurance coverage,” but at least one service returned Friday morning.

Hamilton County dispatchers said the fire department reopened, but the police department will remain closed.

Public Entities Pool of Ohio (PEP) – an insurance group that provides property and liability coverage to public entities – terminated the village’s insurance at 12 a.m. Thursday, forcing the departments to shut down.

“It was a yearly renewal,” Lincoln Heights Village Manager Stephanie Summerow-Dumas said. “It was time for a renewal and (PEP) made the decision (to cut coverage) because of certain variables.”

Those variables are lawsuits, according to PEP Executive Vice President JT. Babish.

Babish said coverage was pulled due to the “substantial negative financial impact” of wage disputes, employment harassment, wrongful terminations, allegations of wrongful arrest and violations of civil rights within the departments.

Twenty-three of those claims have resulted in lawsuits – nine of which are still being defended, he said.

PEP officials said the village could not keep up with the costs of those suits.

“Any company would look at that and see if they want to be vulnerable to offer insurance,” Summerow-Dumas said. “I’m sure that came into play and they looked at some of that.”

Lincoln Heights emergency dispatchers were advised to tell callers to contact the Lockland Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, which have taken over emergency duties.

RELATED: I-Team: Lincoln Heights police department struggles with ‘corruption’

The closure of Lincoln Heights’ safety services comes on the heels of an I-Team investigation looking into allegations of corruption inside the police department.

The I-Team uncovered several officers within the department have been cited with violations and charged with crimes .

Lincoln Heights Mayor Laverne Mitchell called Ohio Rep. Alicia Reese Thursday after the insurance coverage was revoked.

Reese said she is working to find a solution.

“I contacted the governor to ask for help,” Reece said. “Safety has to be the top priority for the residents, both in the short and long term.”

Reece said she also held an emergency meeting with cabinet members and representatives from the Department of Insurance and Public Safety.

She said the state agreed to work with Lincoln Heights officials over the next several weeks.

Philadelphia schools cancel teachers’ union contract

PHILADELPHIA – The troubled Philadelphia school district abruptly canceled its teachers’ contract Monday, a surprise move designed to force health care contributions after two years of stalled labor talks.

The announcement came at a hastily-called meeting of the state-run School Reform Commission.

District officials said they have no plans to cut wages of the 15,000 teachers, nurses and other members of the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers. They would pay about $55 to $140 per month for health care premiums, and face other benefit cuts, starting in December, unless the move is challenged in court.

The American Federation of Teachers called the vote Monday “a well-planned Hail Mary ambush” by Republican Gov. Tom Corbett, who faces a tough re-election fight next month.

“Corbett’s School Reform Commission has amped up a war on teachers and support staff,” AFT President Randi Weingarten said in a statement. “The commission would rather attempt to impose a contract than work with teachers to figure out what is best for Philadelphia’s kids.”

The district, one of the nation’s largest, has 135,000 students. Officials have eliminated 5,000 jobs and closed more than 30 schools as they cut nearly $1 billion in expenses in the past few years. The district perennially struggles with a structural deficit caused by rising pension and health care costs and payments to charter schools, which serve an additional 65,000 students.

Officials said the benefit concessions were on a par with those made by administrators and other workers in recent years.

“Requiring teachers and other employees to contribute to their health care costs is a change and a sacrifice, but contributing to health care benefits is the reality of today’s workplace,” Superintendent William Hite said in a letter to parents. “Limited resources require difficult decisions.”

He expected the teacher health care contributions to yield more than $50 million in savings and new funding per school year. At the same time, Hite urged parents to keep pushing state lawmakers for what he called a fair funding formula.

“Philadelphia families have made extraordinary sacrifices: students come to school every day in buildings that lack critical resources necessary for teaching and learning,” said SRC Chairman William J. Green, a longtime Philadelphia councilman appointed to the post by Corbett earlier this year.

Corbett just two weeks ago signed off on a $2-a-pack cigarette tax in Philadelphia, which city leaders had sought to raise $83 million a year for the school district.

One Democratic lawmaker, Rep. Mike O’Brien of Philadelphia, called the SRC’s unanimous vote to break the contract Monday “an exercise in union busting.”

“It’s certainly a violation of all laws dealing with collective bargaining,” he said. “I think it winds its way into the federal courts.”

Union officials planned an afternoon news conference.

City schools have been under state control since 2001, but have always worked under a negotiated contract. Under the takeover law, teachers do not have the right to strike.

Only a few dozen people attended the surprise session Monday morning, according to parent activist Helen Gym, who said she only learned of the meeting at midnight.

“It’s a disgrace in terms of public governance and democracy,” said Gym, the co-founder of Parents United for Public Education.

“As parents, we’re obviously concerned, because the only thing that is really holding our schools together right now is the teachers and staff,” she said. “I just don’t know how we’re going to sustain and keep a talented teaching force without a contract.”
