What’s Wrong With America: Matt Clark covers Walt Disney as Abigail Disney seeks relevancy

Matt Clark had spent the last week in Disney World running in a yearly marathon event he has made a ritual of embarking on.  During his trip he sent me a nice picture taken under the Liberty Tree which permeated the glum of the winter blues with reminders of the southern family haven of Disney’s vast empire I love so much.  Matt shares this love with me and he wanted to pay tribute with a visit to the Liberty Tree at Liberty Square, a place that Walt Disney wanted to ensure that America would never forget.  Once Matt arrived home, he did a radio show on WAAM with his Disney trip still fresh on his mind and opened up the phone lines.  He asked a simple question, would Walt Disney be able to amass such a large media empire in modern America—with only a high school education, and a federal government that wants to be in the pocket of every business in America.  Matt opened up the phone lines, and this is what happened.  Have a listen.

My answer to Matt’s question is that Disney could not exist today.  In fact he is currently under attack as Meryl Streep displayed just last week.  In a previous time of common sense, Disney made comments about women stating, “women do not do any of the creative work in connection with preparing the cartoons for the screen, as that task is performed entirely by young men.”  That was the quote Streep uttered which was then backed a few days later by Disney’s grand niece Abigail Disney—who is the granddaughter of Walt’s brother Roy.  Uncle Walt could not exist today as he would be picked apart by progressive ideology which would have encumbered his imagination needlessly, and prevented him from doing what he did in bringing to the world a ray of light with the Disney media empire which we all enjoy from ESPN to the Disney Channel.

http://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/2014/01/17/abigail-disney-doubles-down-on-disinformation-about-her-great-uncle-walt/

Abigail’s comments would be similar to the daughter of one of my nieces criticizing the things I wrote here on Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom 70 years from now—the context would be evaporated by a watered down family member who is the kid of a kid of a brother who lacked Walt’s abilities and secretly has resented it their entire life.  Abigail said on the heels of Meryl Streep’s comments:

“And if you are going to have mixed feelings about a family member (and we all do) take it from me, you really need to be as honest as possible about those feelings, or else you are going to lead yourself into many a blind alley in life!! … Anti-Semite? Check. Misogynist? OF COURSE!! Racist? C’mon he made a film (Jungle Book) about how you should stay ‘with your own kind’ at the height of the fight over segregation! As if the ‘King of the Jungle’ number wasn’t proof enough!! How much more information do you need? But damn, he was hella good at making films and his work has made billions of people happy. There’s no denying it. So there ya go. Mixed feelings up the wazoo.”

Abigail posted again 10 hours later: “I feel I have to clarify. I LOVED what Meryl Streep said. I know he was a man of his times and I can forgive him, but Saving Mr Banks was a brazen attempt by the company to make a saint out of the man. A devil he was not. Nor an angel.

To defend Walt Disney if I had the chance to speak with him back then when he made those statements about women in his animation department in the context of his times I would say that he was concerned about bringing women into a room full of animators who were expected to draw pictures all day.  When men and women are brought together in the same time and same place—they tend to attempt to engage in sexual relationships which distract from the work a person like Disney was performing.  Considering that nobody has come along like Disney then or since, his formula should be studied not rejected.

Progressives do not have a way to deal with this intermixing problem of men and women working together.  Their solution is to advocate gay rights so that they can bring the same tensions to male to male relationships and take the light off the fact that women still tend to sleep their way to the top, and provide temptations to slack jawed men—and Disney wanted to avoid that kind of thing.  Of course men and women have learned to work things out over time, companies like Lucasfilm, Weta, and Pixar come to mind as similar companies that do the same kind of work that Disney did which still gets done when men and women work together in close proximity.  But at the time, in the 1940s when labor unions were trying to destroy Walt Disney, and women were demanding “equal” rights which threatened to bring sexual drama to his skilled animators—the emergence of all these progressive concepts were threatening to destroy what he spent his life building.

Now many years later man haters like Meryl Streep and Abigail Disney corrupted by progressive propaganda wish to paint Walt in the light of the modern progressive times—which is actually quite screwed up.  Disney wouldn’t get media, Disney wouldn’t get financing, and Disney would find himself always in court defending himself—and he wouldn’t have the time or energy to conduct the kind of projects he embarked on.   He barely was able to do what he did in the context of his times……………he would surely be destroyed before he ever got started today………….so the answer to Matt’s question is that no, Disney could not do today what he did during his time.  There would be no Disney World, there would have been no Zorro television show, no Davey Crockett, no Disney Channel there’d be nothing but a film maker who made a few cartoons that would be immediately panned by critics and disposed directly to Red Box to die a quick death on the rental market in direct competition with pornography.

But here is the real reason for the increase in attacks against Walt Disney, especially lately after the release of Saving Mr. Banks.  You see, nothing is by accident and rival studios run by liberal labor unions see the writing on the wall—and everyone knows how Walt felt about labor unions—he didn’t like them.  But you won’t hear those quotes from Meryl and Abigail—only the things that can be distorted to suit the modern progressive agenda.  Disney in the next four years is poised to explode with their mythic relevancy.  With the acquisition of Star Wars that alone will drive the company toward economic growth that will exceed all the other production companies in Hollywood combined.  Yet in addition to that, they also have Marvel comics as well as Pixar leaving the Disney Company in prime shape to bring in new revenue streams combating the escalating production costs of making motion pictures—which is destroying the other studios and drying up  work on Wilshire Blvd.  I have said it many times; Star Wars is going to ignite a revolution of creative thought across the entire world.  I remember what it was like in the 70s under the independent hand of George Lucas—who designed his companies after Walt Disney.  The Disney Company has even more power and ability to expand that mythology to a society that is lacking social and intellectual value and are hungry for it.  In just a few short years it will be impossible to go anywhere and not see something of Star Wars from action figures to party napkins.  The merchandising alone will rock the coffers at the Disney Company to levels never seen before with an entertainment company.  Disney will of course do what they always do, they’ll take that money and produce good family films like Frozen, The Little Mermaid, The Lone Ranger, and Saving Mr Banks—good traditional family productions that will drive progressives out of their minds with anxiety—because they desire to crush traditional America.  Disney was committed to preserving it, and Star Wars will give the company the financial leverage to do more of it.

Family members would say the same things about me as Abigail did of Uncle Walt for much the same reasons—because their frame of reference is skewed by the progressive times by progressive concepts that have infected their belief systems.  The value of the statements about Walt come from the faulty beliefs of the advocates.  Meryl Streep would be nothing if she did not brown nose producers in the early days of her career to get film roles.  She is entirely dependent on other people to give her work.  When those people line up the financing, direct the make-up people, lighting and camera guys, and hire writers to make a movie they hire Meryl to stand in front of the camera and do what they tell her to do.  As much of a liberated woman as she wishes to pretend she is, she still does what people tell her to do.  If they tell her to kiss somebody, she does.  She learns the lines that other people write for her, acts the way other people tell her to.  If they say to take off her top off she does or pose seductively with another actress, she does.  Check out this for the proof where Meryl did a lesbian love scene with Penelope Cruz for Harper’s Bazaar.  How is Meryl Streep a free—independent woman?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2127756/Penelope-Cruz-recounts-getting-topless-Meryl-Streep-shows-hourglass-shape-exquisite-shoot.html

Who would pay any attention to what Abigail Disney put on her Facebook account if her last name wasn’t “Disney.”  And who gave her that value……….Uncle Walt who built something in America that Meryl and all her other Hollywood friends couldn’t even conceive of.   They have attempted to copy off Walt, but when they failed, they have slandered his name.  Without Walt Disney her grandfather Roy and everyone that came after—including her—would have just been average man-hating progressives spiteful about the world and everything in it.

There may come a time in the future where a persona like Walt Disney could once again do what he did to make the Disney Company one of the best organizations in the world.  But not in this time and this place—not in the days where Barack Obama is president and a criminal like Hillary Clinton is a front runner for the office in 2016.  These are dark times—far removed from the hopeful days of Walt Disney and the kind of stories he wanted to tell hoping to save mankind from itself all in the glory of entertainment with some value added.  They don’t teach the kind of genius that Walt Disney had in school, and that drives progressives even crazier—because they don’t understand how someone like Disney could have ever been so brilliant.  So they do the only thing they know how to do—they tear the guy down behind his back using bra burning feminists to advocate the smear hoping that they can destroy the Disney Company before the next wave of box office profits threatens to put them all out of business.  And that is what is behind Meryl Streep’s comments which led to Abigail’s slander of her treasured family member.

The ultimate answer to Matt’s question, could Walt Disney exist today…………….the answer is NO!  Walt Disney is attacked for the same reason that Chick-fil-A is, because he made a quality product with values and set a bar too high for everyone else to compete with.  These days, what matters to most everyone is to set the bar of competition so low that anybody can win—and Disney simply made that bar too high, and he did it partially by recognizing that his animators needed to concentrate on their jobs instead of looking for a lunch date.

Skyfall: A motorcycle in a snowstorm and death breath’s threat

imageI get asked all the time why I ride a motorcycle in the dead of winter and the answer is because of the kind of days that I experienced this past week where a snow storm hit in the middle of the day while I was out in it.  Once the snow started blowing and covering the roads I realized I needed to head home because the temperature was dropping quickly.  As people drove over the snow it was melting then immediately freezing as the atmospheric conditions were perfect for that kind of tragedy.  Before I tell this story I spend a lot of time outside—and I thrive in extreme conditions as these pictures on this article show.  They were taken a few days after that same snow storm and reflect the desperate isolation that such extreme cold and terrible road conditions bring to the mind while in it on a motorcycle.

The snow was coming down hard and had covered my bike—a Suzuki 1500 V-Twin that weighs just shy of 1000 pounds.  It’s a big bike that I’ve had virtually everywhere.  In just a few years it currently has 45,000 miles on it if that paints a picture.  I had to dust off the bike just to not sit in snow.  As I started up the big engine snow blew out of the tail pipe from all the drifts that had piled up against the rear tire, and I was genuinely concerned whether I could even steer the motorcycle in such conditions.  But within moments I had the bike moving out of the parking lot and out toward the Back Porch Saloon racing home and realizing quickly that I should have stayed put and either waited out the storm or called my wife to pick me up.   But that didn’t seem right, I didn’t want to put her in danger and I didn’t want to leave my bike on the side of the road in hard weather—so I agreed with myself to take things slow and see what happened mile by mile.image

The temperature had dropped from the mid-30s to the mid-20s Fahrenheit within the hour.  I had hoped that once I hit 747 the road that for nearly 8 miles of travel would take me nearly to my home that it would be clearer since it was a major road.  It was not.  I couldn’t turn onto the road from another without my front tire slipping out from under me.  I could barely hold up my bike against the slippery road as my foot wanted to slide outward against the surface ice that I had already wasted 10 minutes navigating.  In that time I only traveled approximately 70 feet and it became clear that I may not survive this trip this time.  So I pulled into an urgent care facility to decide what to do.  Snow had fallen down my gloves after initially brushing off my bike and was beginning to melt against my skin.  My finger tips were freezing and the visibility was about half a mile and was accumulating against my helmet at a pace that I had to continuously wipe away the snow just so I could see.  It was an impossible situation.

I sat in the desolate snow storm for a moment on my motorcycle and just looked north into the vast gray sky and tiny black dots of snowflakes that extended to the edge of visibility.  And I decided that I was going to brave the snowstorm and head home even if it was the last decision I ever made.  Sure I could have called for help, sure I could have waited out the storm, but I did not want to wake up the next day knowing that I surrendered to a snow storm.  It didn’t matter if anybody would know—but I would—so I took out my iPod and set for repeat my favorite song from 2013—the theme song from the James Bond film Skyfall by Adele.  As she sung the lyrics, “this is the end………hold your breath and count to ten……feel the earth move and then…………………” snow fell to the beat of the music and I could feel the rhythm to the universe and I plugged myself in.  I pulled my face shield down, shook off the pain of my numb fingers and threw caution to the wind. I peeled out of the parking lot and out onto 747 throwing snow everywhere to a parade of shocked faces peering at me from behind their car windows.

imageAs I moved down into the Becket Ridge valley the roads had completely frozen and snow drifts were crawling rapidly across the packed ice hiding the terrible black ice that was underneath.  I could not stop with brakes but had to just coast to a rest at stop lights.  Once the light turned green my back tire would not engage the pavement.  It just spun freely.  I didn’t apply any throttle, just let out the clutch and the back tire would just spin going almost nowhere.  So I held the bike in place struggling to hold it up as my feet were slipping outward.  I let the tire burn through the ice till it reached dry pavement shooing me forward.  The friction from the warmed up tire was melting the ice under it propelling me along just a bit.  This process was repeated for the next 4 traffic lights.image

A West Chester cop pulled up alongside me trying to determine if he should give me a ticket for reckless operation.  But his tires were spinning too and he couldn’t pull in behind me as the car behind was struggling to stay on the road.  A car just in front of us had slid off the road and over a curb in front of a Wendy’s restaurant obviously trying to turn into that parking lot for a safe haven, but not being able to make the turn.  The cop was concerned about getting someplace safe and showed no desire to stand outside and issue a ticket.  He simply shook his head and I gazed back with Adele singing in my ear…………….”Let the Skyfall.”

In these kinds of moments the mind reaches a place where fear no longer has any influence.  It is a place I always strive to be but can only reach under extreme conditions and is the primary reason I ride a motorcycle every day no matter what’s going on if it is physically possible.  I’ve been to this kind of spot many times in my life and when I return I clearly see what everything is about.  At such times I pray for a time when the U.S. Government comes to my doorstep and tries to arrest me for defending the Constitution.  I pray for a pack of terrorists to make the mistake of attacking a location near me where I can turn them into mince-meat suitable for a pretzel sold at an airport dipped in liquid cheese.  In such moments the dominate feeling is that all takers could be challenged under any quantity and the enemies would all be eradicated.  People sitting in the warmth of their cars at the next stop light must have thought I was crazy as I pumped my fist toward the heavens and challenge all the elements of earth to throw what they had at me.image

What they didn’t know was my own inner challenges were rising up against the context of the storm.  In my ear, on the iPod Adele was singing, “Skyfall is where we start, A thousand miles and poles apart……………….Where worlds collide and days are dark…………………..” and I thought of the progressive schools and how they are rotting the minds of mankind, I thought of the arrogance of president Obama and an Attorney General who is an out-right criminal.  I thought of the feminist destruction of traditional America and their mindless support of Hillary Clinton—who is also a criminal.  I thought of the gays attacking Phil Robertson for his “homophobic” views which are now the mainstream making God-fearing Christians similar to the kind of sacrificial lambs thrown to the lions during the Roman Empire.  I thought of the stagnant economy directly wrecked by progressives like George Soros and his open border, open legalized pot mind, numbing existence so that America will become one of the least free places on earth as opposed to the most.  I thought of Warren Buffet’s rail line across Canada which is the real reason that there is no Keystone Pipeline.  Buffet makes hundreds of millions of dollars as Canada uses his trains to ship their oil to China.  If that same oil traveled across a pipeline through North America to the gulf, Buffet wouldn’t make money with his trains.  That’s why the train wreck and oil spill along that line a few weeks ago went away from the news cycle so quickly.  All these people are villains—and there are hundreds of thousands more—and standing in the snow and ice with my fingers numb remotely concerned about permanent damage, I wanted to throw all those villains into a ring of death and fight them swimming in their blood upon defeat.

Lucky for me sanity is my constant companion.  Such emotions can get away if they are allowed, but I never do. After nearly an hour in the extreme cold averting countless perils I arrived home triumphantly. I was soaked to the bone, my pants where dripping with melted snow and my skin was so drenched that water ran down my legs and filled my boots with water.  Freezing, I undressed on my front porch, poured the water out of my boots and went inside to warm up.  It was good to see home, and for a while I thought I may never see it again.  About that time I had pumped my fist to the heavens and yelled within my helmet……………..”is that all you f**king have you pathetic mother nature.  F**k you, you god damn pussy.”  My mind had shifted into that much desired gear where nothing is impossible, nothing is too big, no odds matter, because fate is in your control.  Under such a frame of mind a person could alter the gravity well of entire planets and implode them with the squeeze of a hand.  They could then sling black holes across the universe like Frisbees and grab the neck of inter-dimensional terrorists and pop them like zits on the face of an adolescent.  But at the moment a warm blanket and dry towel sufficed.image

“this is the end………hold your breath and count to ten……feel the earth move and then…………………” As my wife brought me some warm food and I shivered myself to warmth once again under a pile of blankets I could see on her face that she understood.  She knows me and how I think.  As she walked back into the kitchen and I watched the snow build up outside my window I counted to ten and whispered……………….”Let the Skyfall,” and when it does………………I can stay in that frame of mind perpetually as I never feel more alive than during those moments………………and I can’t wait till I can feel such a thing again.  Skyfall……………………….

Meryl Streep and the Poop Particles of Doom: The progressive attack against sanity

After listening to Meryl Streep attack Walt Disney while honoring Emma Thompson’s rabid feminism, it does not surprise me that many men these days seem to prefer the stinky exit of the human body’s digestive system as opposed to a heterosexual relationship with these modern “man hating females.”  But I am not one of those guys.  Even the vilest feminist is a better option in my book.  As progressives would label such a position “homophobic” I would call it sanity, clarity in thinking, and the best option available.  Some people have phobias of spiders, some of snakes, some of heights—mine has and always will be that of the poop particle.  I have one real fear out all possible fears and that is of the remnants of material left over after the digestive process.  I have never liked seeing cow patties on my grandfather’s farms, I hate watching dogs defecate—and worse yet—eat it—and I have absolutely no desire to ever pursue an orifice that creates such matter in pursuit of sexual pleasure.  With that hatred of poop particles in mind, this educational film from the late 1950s reflects my impression of the “homosexual.”

The same people who have communicated this same-sex type of lifestyle are the same people talked about in my article yesterday attacking monogamous marriage.  They have an agenda and from my vantage point it is destructive—and disgusting.  CLICK HERE TO REVIEW.  It’s not that I want to return America to the 1950s.  For me, that period of time was too liberal.  I’d prefer 1750 to about 1790 myself, but that’s just me.  In that video shown above, I wouldn’t even tell a kid to inform a teacher—as the parent is the last and only line of defense that matters in a child’s life.  But in the video at least the film makers addressed the kind of threats that might come to a child so they could learn to defend themselves from the vile acts of adults who are clearly screwed up in the head.

We live in a society where declaring that sex which involves fecal matter is healthy, proper, and naturally good.  If anyone disagrees they are called a “homophobe.”  This behavior has paved the way for the child raped by his teacher in Michigan.  CLICK TO REVIEW.  Likely, that teacher wouldn’t have even been a teacher in the type of society ran by those who made the homosexual video above, as that society would have spotted his antics in the light of day.  As things are today, nobody is comfortable calling out any kind of homosexual behavior that might lead to abusing children, because they don’t want to be attacked by progressives calling them “homophobes.”  In 2014 that is nearly as bad as being called a “sexist.”  If you don’t support feminism, you are a “sexist.”  If you don’t support poop particle sex, you are “homophobic.”  Both carry a social stigma created by a progressive establishment and those types are directly at fault for creating scenarios where teachers like the one in Michigan have the ability to destroy the lives of his students.  The fault is squarely on their shoulders.

As much as progressives hate the naivety of the 1950s and all the times that came before it where tradition and family value paved the way for strong healthy lives—the world they have created is far, far worse.  Can anybody in their right mind declare that feminism has worked?  Can anybody declare that the Michigan teacher was not mentally insane because of his sexual prerogative?  Can anybody think that Meryl Streep would be a fun date?  Progressives have created these problems, and they suppress a value judgment against them by calling sane people names for trying to identify the problem.  At least there was a time in America where bad behavior was identified and a warning to future conduct was attempted.  It may have been fear based, it may not have encompassed the entire enormity of the homosexual complexity—but at least a social norm identified for the benefit of a majority of the population was considered.  At least children were getting a warning of what to look out for among perverted adults.  Back in the “old fashioned” days, such people hid their behavior.  Today they run labor unions and make decisions right out in the open.

The way society is today people who might otherwise warn children away from parasites like that Michigan teacher keep their mouths shut because they don’t want to be called a “homophobe.”  But is that such a bad name?  Is it really a negative to be told that a person doesn’t enjoy poop particle sex?  It isn’t to me.  It states that my mind is not confused into behaving like a dog but would prefer even a feminist over a homosexual.  I may feel sorry for the person attracted to such things, but that doesn’t make them superior to the biological structure that was bestowed on mankind for the sake of mating rituals and human evolution.  The warnings of the 40s, 50s, and very early 60s were valid even if they were rooted with fear and religion into conforming society around a set of values that were being recognizably lost.

As despicable as Meryl Streep’s political views of men hatred are, she would still be a better dinner date than the eventual peril of the poop particles in a man’s hairy ass.  That to me is the gauge of sanity in our modern time where such judgments are forbidden to even be discussed, let alone dealt with.  In my family we have a couple of dogs and I watch often in horror when one sniffs at the other after urinating, or defecating and becomes quite excited about the occasion jumping around as though they just found out they won a million dollars.  We also have a cat, and sometimes that animal will puke right in the middle of the floor and the dog will come and lick it all up clean. This behavior is disgusting by every measure of human value judgment—except the homosexual leaning beings.  For them, this behavior has appeal, and from my point of view—is reminiscent of an illness of some kind.  Such illnesses could be treated if they were identified, but instead they are promoted.  That lack of proper danger recognition is what lead to the kind of rape case that happened in Michigan between a union president—teacher, and his student.  In a society that called such behavior bad, the rape and abuse likely would have been averted.

We’ve all been told that we need to be open to other ways of thinking and embrace the “progressive” view of the world which states that feminism is more important than traditional value, and that same-sex practices are equal to traditional heterosexual practices.  But they are not.  One involves poop particles and the other doesn’t, and poop particles are not good, healthy, or delightful……..unless one considers themselves a dog.  And that would be an insult—and nobody wants such a thing leveled in their direction.  So what do we call such people?  For all the faults pointed out by progressives toward films like the training film against homosexuality in the 50s, nothing has been offered as a modification or replacement to the attempt to at least identify bad behavior that might truly endanger children.  Instead, we are told to look the other way and ignore the faults that progressives have brought to us all in pain, suffering and misery.  And not even the fine acting of Meryl Streep can disguise her cover of a truly disgusting premise behind the progressive platform—that of the poop particle and the terrible expulsion of human waste that propagates from such unions in a sexual ritual centered purely on pleasure like a mindless animal—instead of the continuation of the human race.  At least in the 50s they considered the impact that such behavior would have on children.  The modern progressive does not—instead they seek to use children for their own pleasure and attempt to excuse the behavior as a “learning” experience that will pave the way to adult behavior that will never be able to relate to traditional value—which was always the real goal of their maniacal strategy.

I will give credit to the gay community and the progressive in general for one aspect of their strategy which is brilliant–the use of Meryl Streep as a growing advocate of feminism, erosion of Second Amendment rights, and general liberal causes.  Many men who do not find such revulsion toward fecal matter as I do are choosing the gay life than a life shared with a feminist man-hating radical which substantially bolsters their numbers. The way to make more people turn toward homosexual behavior among men is to provide them with Meryl Streep as a spokesman for feminist causes…….brilliant.

Mark Haverkos Speech For GOP Executive Chairman: Don Quixote without the windmills

To be clear on exactly what is wrong with the Republican Party two people whom I know pretty well ran against each other for the Butler County executive chairman of the GOP.  Todd Hall, who is the grandson of Carlos Todd ran against Mark Haverkos for the powerful seat just given up by David Kern who was frustrated by all the party infighting.  Kern gave up the seat one day before Bridgewater Falls Shopping Center sued the GOP party for $40,000 for breaking the lease of its former headquarters.  Knowing something about the situation up close and all the personalities involved, much of the infighting came because Todd, who used to run the GOP for over a decade during the 90s wanted to retake control of the machine politics so that it was friendlier to business.  Through his influence the money dried up. Dave Kern was a Tea Party type whom the GOP used to secure seats during the 2010 elections but by 2012, the GOP wanted nothing to do with the Tea Party after the Senate Bill 5 mishandling by John Kasich.  So to get all the ducks in a row to support politicians like Kasich, Boehner, and Portman the last I have known from the start of his career and watched decline with corrosive influence, the GOP wanted to push out the Tea Party types like Kern.  Under Kern’s watch the fundraising dried up because he wanted to bring honesty and good politics to the GOP.  But for the traditional GOP, this wasn’t in the cards.

Mark has been as close to a pure hearted political type most of the time that I’ve known him.  He has tried and tried and tried for years to bring to political office the kind of person that every American wishes for, a normal smart guy who wants to give something back to his community.  He enjoys following political happenings and over many years has maintained the ability to maintain his mind.  He is still trying to do the right things in politics, something I remember well from Rob Portman when he was running for his first congressional seat during a special election in 1993 and catering favor from the Ross Perot fan base.  Mark is still that kind of political office seeker.  But sadly, he has found himself to live a parallel life to that of Don Quixote and the fight against windmills which he believed to be monsters.  Only in the case of Mark, the villains are monsters, and are not imaginary windmills posing as monsters—they are quite literal, but the results are the same—futility.  Not to say that Todd Hall is a monster—actually he’s far from it, but the institution he serves is.  The people who are the targets of his fundraising efforts for the GOP, several whom I also know and abandoned me when I needed them because they were afraid of a bunch of girls are also generally good people—but the institutions they serve constitute the collectivism of machine politics making them faceless contributors to a vile enterprise known as politics.  Mark offered himself as a solution but was rejected in favor of Hall for obvious reasons.  Under Mark the GOP likely wouldn’t wrestle much money out of the business community for politicians like Boehner, Kasich and many others seeking money for their war chests.  So during the election he lost to Todd Hall 177 to 266—which represents clearly the split of the Republican Party.  The purists are in the slight minority, the business oriented GOP machine cogs who desire to use political power to protect their business interests from government are the other.  For the rest of this coverage let me provide you with something that the local media does not have access to, or would dare print—the actual speech by Mark given during the election.  I’d rather let Mark speak from his own words of the situation and illuminate the plight of a man committed to honesty in the field of political endeavor which is to my eyes equivalent to the plight of Don Quixote.  It may seem futile, but I admire his effort.

Mark Haverkos speech for the Butler County executive chairman of the GOP, 2014

I am Mark Haverkos, I’ll turn 60 this year, and I have owned and operated my own business for 30 yrs. I’ve served the GOP mostly by supporting candidates directly by planting signs at 3am and hanging flyers on mailboxes.  In last Novembers’ election I spent 13 hrs working the polls to get two West Chester trustees elected and we succeeded by knocking off a 20yr sitting Democrat.

Last year I applied for the County Administrator job and during my interview I was told by Commissioner Dixon he was afraid I had a reputation of “speaking my mind” or “telling it like it is” and that “wasn’t necessarily a good thing”.

I didn’t get the job”. You see, I would rather have someone tell it like it is, than lie to my face”

When I first moved here from Cincinnati I sought a seat on the Butler County GOP and won my central committee seat ever since.

I quickly learned the party had some problems but I had faith things would change. Lord knows every week brings a newspaper headline of something stupid the GOP has done.

The real trouble started years ago when the party held their meetings in what was referred to as the Todd-Ma-Hall, a big fancy building the GOP should never have bought and could not afford.

So while our GOP had little money the Todd-Ma-Hall building was sold and commissions were paid. Those responsible for that mess signed the lease at Bridgewater and more commissions were paid, all while the GOP was broke and rumors swirled that around $20,000 had been misplaced.

The dynasty in charge running the show convinced everyone to just move on, no need to look any further and life would be good.

Some would say it’s all Dave Kern’s fault for not paying the current bills and not holding enough fundraisers. Dave didn’t sign that lease, the dynasty did. I’ve heard several members were working on a settlement deal with Bridgewater, when another member placed a call that ended those talks.  Supposedly if the right people were put in place at the GOP the “dynasty” would settle with Bridgewater and make themselves look like heroes.

The Bridgewater lease isn’t the only outstanding bill the GOP owes. Deals were made with the Ohio House Caucus to pay the bills to win the legal challenge that helped get Wes Rutherford elected. The House Caucus to date has failed to pay their part. Our State reps need to pressure Columbus to honor their promise.

If many of us agree the Butler County GOP is broken, how would I fix it ?

First I will ask local office holders for a small percentage of their fundraising efforts go back into our general fund. How can our candidates expect members to pay $50-$100 for every fundraiser they are invited to and then give nothing back in return to the party?

Second, as for our State legislators, I’m asking you to divert a larger percentage of your fundraising back to our local party, rather than sending it to Columbus where it is wasted.  Otherwise, what incentive or resources does the Butler County GOP have in supporting you in the next election?

And last I will call on those responsible for the Bridgewater mess and demand they negotiate and pay the settlement themselves before this week ends.

If you’re ready to ignore the past and proceed blissfully into the future without accounting for how we got here, I urge you to vote for my opponent.

However, if your principles matter, and you want those principles reflected in our GOP, then I ask you to vote for Mark Haverkos.  Do the resources you donate to the party, your time, talent and money matter to you?  If your reputation and the reputation of our GOP matters to you, then I am Mark Haverkos and I respectfully ask for your vote.

On the education front, can you see what I’m cooking?  This Yale professor made an entire course out of a children’s story.  See what I’m talking about with education?

Leia Display Systems: The future of science fact inspired by fiction

The reason I provide so many comparison articles about the influence of Star Wars on our modern society is because it is unique in the history of the world.  As much as many would assume that it was just a series of movies made years ago and will fade away in popularity in the years to come are grossly mistaken.  Star Wars in the future will have more influence on philosophy, science, art, history, politics, religion and virtually every aspect of culture than ANY other influence from the 20th Century.  If books like the Communist Manifesto had the ability to change the world with massive collectivism and wealth redistribution sentiments, Star Wars will dwarf that small little book in its ability to reach the hearts and minds of virtually every corner of the globe.  This was never truer than the present age where a new company in Poland has invented a holographic projection system that will revolutionize all forms of communication in the next decade.  It is the new hot thing and will soon make iPads and iPhones look clunky and archaic.  It is very difficult to understand how many astronauts, how many NASA scientists, how many bio tech engineers, physicist, and computer programmers journeyed to those fields because of Star Wars.  But it is quickly becoming apparent in vehicle design, political trends, and social patterns where their influence has come from.  As of this writing the first Star Wars film came out 37 years ago, and now that the kids from that age are in their 40s–the impact of their imaginations stirred in those stories has become obvious.  This has never been truer than the new company called Leia Display Systems created because the Polish entrepreneurs wanted to recreate the holographic message Princess Leia gave to Obi Wan Kenobi in the first film A New Hope.  With that basic premise in mind they worked out the problems of implementation while at European night clubs and the rest is………….the future.

When the 1989 film Back to the Future II came out showing Hill Valley in the far away year of 2015, there were holographic images everywhere advertising products and communicating ideas.  Well, it’s now 2014, and with the Leia Display System our society is nearly on target for these kind of video interaction services.  The units seen above should be available to the mass population in approximately five years from now, but without question they will begin to show up at trade shows within the next few years.  This upcoming technology is so powerful that it will change how everything is done by way of communication.  Suddenly public venues such as sports stadiums, night clubs, shopping complexes, even movie theaters will utilize these powerful devices to bring graphic images from the two-dimensional world to the 3D world.

Just ten years ago such cutting edge entrepreneurs would grudgingly admit that they got their ideas from a movie like Star Wars.  But in this day and age where one of the most popular television shows is Big Bang Theory where geeks are the new “jocks” of society, it is now cool to make such announcements.  These guys after all named a cutting edge company that will revolutionize communication after Princess Leia.  So what we are talking about is a whole new way of looking at virtually everything that centers around human activity inspired by the limitless world created by a film series that has only become more popular as time has moved on—not less.

Just this past weekend the popular discovery show Myth Busters did a special on Star Wars and the cast had obvious fun with the topic with open—outright geeky joy.  The important thing to conclude from these activities is the way that science fact is being driven by science fiction—where an idea is communicated through a story and the minds of society seek to manifest that idea into reality.  With Star Wars this has already been a powerful force in our culture but it’s not one from the past only, but will continue well into the future.  In the case of Leia Display Systems the televisions and telephones of tomorrow will be directly influenced by a fantasy science fiction film series which will catapult to even more popularity now that Disney is the force behind the movement.  Without question these Leia Display Systems will find their way into the Disney Parks.

For me personally this new invention of Leia Display Systems means that I can have a Dejarik table within my lifetime.  Dejarik is the chess game of the Star Wars universe.  Dejarik was a popular game which withstood the test of time better than nearly any other game in that fictional galaxy. It originated as a Jedi game, though as it became much more widespread over time, many beings became unaware of its origins.

Dejarik was played on a hologame table, which comprised a hologram generator within a table-sized cylindrical base, with a black-and-white checkerboard pattern on the top surface. When active, holomonsters – full-color, three-dimensional hologram playing pieces measuring between 5-30 cm tall – would be projected on the board. The pieces all resembled creatures, real and mythic, from throughout the galaxy, including the Mantellian Savrip, Grimtaash the Molator, Ghhhk, Houjix, Ng’ok, Kintan strider, K’lor’slug, and the M’onnok. These pieces, when moved by the player, actually acted out the moves as if really specimens of their species. If the pieces were not used for a certain amount of time or the game was abandoned by both players, they would simulate boredom.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dejarik

It is only a matter of time before this game played only in the fantastic world of Star Wars will be played in homes the way Chess is played today.  It will be just one aspect of a future shaped by Star Wars influence.  It is important to understand why and how these influences do the work of molding society—and is why I’m so interested in Star Wars.  On one hand education institutions have thought that they were shaping society with a huge influence of government pulling the strings—but in reality Star Wars as a work of art has had a momentous impact that is just now being realized.  Much of the future technical innovation coming our way as a species will find the origin of their ideas in a darkened theater where Star Wars planted the seed.

One of those first very obvious seeds is the new holographic system by Leia Display Systems.  The future is here and it’s relatively on schedule.  In the past, many from the previous generation kept these kinds of technical innovations from being proposed to secure their own archaic ideas concocted from usually impure motivations.  Colliding with the compactness of modern computing power and a generation raised on Star Wars, exciting new inventions are about to explode upon the marketplace.  It was only about 7 years ago when I was seeking out the kind of compact cameras that were the size of a pin head for use in spy techniques.  Such things cost $300 to $1000 dollars at The Spy Store back then.  Now they are in the front and back of a paper-thin iPad for virtually no cost.  Star Wars is specifically a creation of American cinema, but its reach is world-wide.  In the case of Leia Display Systems, they are a European company.  Star Wars is popular in virtually every country in the world and has touched minds in those far-flung regions that only a functionally healthy mythology can perform.  And those benefits are just now beginning to come to us in the form of political discourse, technology, and philosophy that is unique to this period of time in history.  The fledgling bud from a deeply planted seed that will soon grow into a new way of thinking where once before only dark, archaic thoughts once prevailed has arrived with the very exciting new developments at Leia Display Systems.

The American Terrorists: Why Michelle Obama split up her husband and the Dutch prime minister

The really hilarious thing about progressives is their duality nature—their living lie with every breath that they take because their actions defy their philosophic positions.  Nothing more exacerbates that lie than the progressive excuses given for Barack Obama’s behavior with Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt snapping selfies of themselves at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with obvious flirtations.  That in itself didn’t surprise me, after all aren’t these confused progressive types the very people dressing in drag at gay bars, attending Fantasy Fest in Key West, or flying to Cancun to spend long weekends at the Temptations Resort.  Obama as a progressive and defender of the LGBT community obviously endorses strange deviant sexual behavior and swinging is part of that culture.  Obviously the Clintons are swingers—so it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that Michelle and Barack Obama support such relationships.

But it quickly became clear that Michelle isn’t into that kind of thing because she was angry about the behavior of her husband—so angry that she made him switch seats with her—which I thought was the biggest part of the story.  But the behavior was only picked up on by a few remote conservative outlets.  Most everyone else saw that Michelle was upset and assumed that it was just a normal issue of a wife reigning in a flirtatious husband from sexual activity that would flourish without her edit.  But what is more telling is the fact that Obama’s infatuation with women who look like Helle Thorning-Schmidt should be obvious.  Most young men pick wives who are most like their mothers—it’s a natural reaction to the development of their psyches.  Helle Thorning-Schmidt in her mannerisms, in her presentation of herself, and in her skin color more resembles Obama’s mother than Michelle does.  Deep insecurities about Obama’s past seem to have come out which would threaten Michelle’s current life, and she felt she needed to interject herself for her own self-preservation.  It is this that the American people need to know about the situation which really hasn’t been discussed properly.  Obviously what is about to be reported here could only be confirmed by Michelle Obama—but since her family, and her supporters are well-known to denying facts, lying, and behaving in an underhanded manner, then good old-fashioned detective work will have to do.  The Obama family won’t be able to dispute any of these things, because if they could—honestly—they would.  But they can’t.  Silence is the testimony of the guilty.

Michelle was, according to Bill Ayers himself, working with his wife the Weather Underground Terrorist Bernadine Dohrn at the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin a year ahead of Obama joining.  The four got together for mutual benefit, the terrorists seeing in Obama a Trojan Horse into politics that could do what their bomb from the 70s couldn’t—destroy the evil imperial America from within.  In 1995 Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn launched Obama’s political career from their living room once the socialist-oriented New Party member Alice Palmer announced that she wanted Obama as her successor in the state senate when she stepped down to run for Congress.

Obama has had some inconsistencies about his recollection of how he and Michelle met—but what is known was that they met at the law firm and it is of no coincidence that Dohrn and Ayers helped shape the relationship by pointing the two in the same political direction.  Michelle wouldn’t be the first woman under the advice of a wiser older woman in Dohrn to grab hold of an upcoming star and ride it as far as it would take her.  The trouble with Barack Obama was that his mother was a white woman, and a rather loosy-goosy one at that who loved interracial sex and had communist leanings formed by her own parents.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION—WARNING, THIS LINK LEADS TO NUDE PICTURES OF OBAMA’S MOTHER ALLEGEDLY TAKEN BY THE COMMUNIST FRANK MARSHELL DAVIS.  So if Michelle was going to make a relationship work with Obama, she needed to make sure she kept the kind of women who Obama was naturally attracted to out of his life as much as possible.

At this point in his life Obama had already had several white girlfriends—which as a young man from an interracial union, was his prerogative.  Michelle would have to change that by becoming the mother in his life—rather than his lover.  Obama, understanding that he needed that kind of balance in his life to achieve any level of success yielded to it knowingly—and put his white skinned girlfriends of the past well behind him without looking back.

When Genevieve Cook first met Barack Obama in the kitchen of a mutual friend’s New York flat in 1983, he was wearing jeans, a T-shirt and a dark leather jacket.  As the night wore on, they sat close together on an orange beanbag in the hall while Cook swigged Baileys Irish Cream straight from the bottle.  They were amazed at how much they had in common: both were children of divorced parents, both had lived all over the world and had never felt truly at home anywhere.  They exchanged phone numbers. Within days, he was cooking her dinner at his apartment.  ‘Then we went and talked in his bedroom,’ Cook recalled. ‘And then I spent the night with him.  ‘It all felt very inevitable.’  For Genevieve Cook — to whom admittedly the President alludes to in his memoirs — she wasn’t the first white girlfriend in his life, nor the last.

As a young student in the early Eighties at Occidental College, a small arts university in Los Angeles, Obama developed a serious crush on another student Alexandra McNear, who was co-editor of a college literary magazine which published two of Obama’s poems.  She was a white woman and had a presence much like his anthropology loving mother.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2163468/Barack-Obama-The-white-girlfriends-US-President-erased-past.html

But once Obama got serious about a political career and knowing he needed to appeal to the minority voters around Chicago and greater Illinois to do it, old flames like Genevieve Cook and Alexandra McNear wouldn’t be very acceptable to voters.  And if Obama was ever going to get high up in political office as he and Ayers planned, he’d need a nice traditional wife – like Michelle Obama to “darken” him up a bit and get people to forget about his past, his mother and connections to the Communist Party through Frank Marshell Davis.  Ayers knew Obama needed more of a Jessie Jackson type of progressive representation than the one he and his wife projected—and that was the ticket to possibly even The White House over a ten-year span.  Imperial America would never see it coming.  Jackson at the time was at the height of his power and was bringing companies to their knees with unfettered guilt from their unsubstantiated role in American slavery.  America couldn’t resist the communist underpinnings of Barack Obama or they’d be called a racist, but Obama needed Michelle to complete the public relations package.

Likely, Michelle knew from the beginning that this was her role in the whole affair.  Arranged marriages are not uncommon in the world and Obama wasn’t the worst option.  He was a genuine person who really believed things, so she could make it work.  But she’d have to keep him focused on the tasks at hand, and for the most part she has.  Unlike the Clintons the Obamas are fairly sexually conservative for progressives.  They are more about radical social reform than personal pleasure.

Fast forward nearly 20 years to Nelson Mandela’s memorial service where the Obamas found themselves seated next to a nearly mirror image of Barack’s mother, Helle Thorning-Schmidt—a woman from a very permissive Danish culture where sex scandals are not even reported.  In nearby France they are common and the topic of gossip.  But in Denmark a woman like Helle Thorning-Schmidt could have sex in the streets with a menagerie of baboons and nobody would even snap a picture.   Helle is the type of Prime Minster who in 2012 spotted Sex in the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker on the street and rushed up to introduce herself like a Catholic school girl just let out of the seminary attending her first boy band concert.  It wasn’t that Helle was more attractive than Barack’s mother, it was that she is as liberated—something that Michelle cannot compete with in the bedroom or anywhere.  So when Michelle saw her husband getting too loose with himself she pulled him together like she always does, and switched seats to make sure that the two world leaders didn’t get any ideas.  Helle not really meaning any harm in relation to her culture took the hint and pulled herself together as did Barack—who dutifully listened to his wife and swapped seats leaning forward in his chair and spending much of the rest of the time defensively crossing his arms protecting himself from the embarrassment of the world’s eyes which were now upon him.  It’s not like he intended anything malicious—it’s just the whole mother/son—husband/wife aspect of being in a relationship with an unnatural psychological mate—one that is foreign to him from his childhood years.

http://topconservativenews.com/2013/12/michelle-makes-obama-change-seats-so-he-cant-talk-to-denmarks-beautiful-pm/

As much as Obama has had issues over where he’s born, how he grew up, who he knew in college, and where he actually attended, the real issues with the guy are the missing pieces from his past that he can never reconcile.  Being a dutiful socialist, Obama believes that the greater good of society is more important than his individual happiness, so he will sacrifice that so that he can have the power to redistribute the wealth of the world for the better, a plan hatched years ago under not so much cloak and dagger tactics in Bill Ayers’ living room.  But his yearnings are more for the kind of attention that a woman like Helle can provide not due to skin color—which is only reference, but mannerisms—a white woman willing to throw off the prejudice of society and sleep with a black man, and to pose nude for one of his only real father figures in Frank Marshell Davis.  The open shirt blowing carelessly in the wind from such a woman holds more lustful euphemisms than a stack of pornography books because it reminds him of his dead mother and the incomplete relationship he had with her as a single parent hopping hopefully all her life from man to man.

Michelle didn’t make her husband switch seats because the eyes of the world was watching and might think something ill of the flirtations.  That may have been the reason she presented it to Barack and Helle.  She primarily did it to protect her marriage, and all that she had invested into a life which would fulfill the terrorist yearnings of her mentor Bernadine Dohrn who with her husband actually bombed the Pentagon on May 19, 1972.  Ayers said of that day, “Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon.  The sky was blue.  The birds were singing.  And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.  Kill all the rich people.  Break up their cars and apartments.  Bring the revolution home; kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at.”  This was Michelle’s friend who worked at her law firm feeding into her hatred of America which was revealed in her Princeton college thesis illuminating her deep feelings of a race-obsessed worldview and incredible resistance to being “further integrated into a white cultural and social structure that would only allow her to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.”  Dohrn directed her anger and with her husband taught the Obamas how they beat the rap during the Pentagon bombing—how to deny, deny, lie, deny, and lie again for the greater good—for the fight for social justice.

Michelle listened to Bernadine Dohrn and bedded her future husband.  She became a first lady in the process and everything and more that was planned in that Bill Ayers living room.  The promises by his wife, her co-worker came true.  They now can spend millions of dollars of looted money from those oppressors she wrote about in her Princeton thesis and laugh about it as they carve up the nation in a way that their terrorist mentors never dreamed possible.  And as far as she has come, and the sacrifices she made along the way, nothing is going to get in the way—especially a pretty Danish Prime Minister and the flirtations of her husband with a mother figure that if she were not in his life would likely be the object of his obsession.

So she sat between them…………………………….

Read more of this terrorist past from a CBS report in 2008—before Obama was elected, and before Glenn Beck exposed many of these things later on.  The following report came before CBS became concerned that they’d be blacklisted in the press room if they didn’t play ball with a tyrannical regime lead by the Obamas and their crusade to remake America into the image of some Chicago terrorists and a mother who slept her way around the world.

Obamacare: What it will cost you and how it will be enforced–the grim reality

Obamacare is one of the worst policies that have ever been concocted by political statists.  It should be rejected by everyone but the most destitute social parasites which this law is designed to promote.  It is a severe infringement on human liberty and a detriment to successful health care advancement in the future.  It is an attack on innovation and a promotion of lack-luster government bureaucracy.  It is terrible law made by bad, corrupt politicians who hid their intentions of wealth redistribution through taxation under the cover of a holiday season and a nation filled with year-end compassion who didn’t read the fine print of a massive multi thousand page document.  Obamacare was a Trojan Horse designed to wreck the American economy by progressives who hate the capitalism of the West.

To fathom what is in store for all of us in 2014 read the below report by a guy who took the time to write down his thoughts on the Affordable Care Act Facebook page.  The guy tried to sign up for Obamacare, and then realized that he couldn’t afford the payments—and attempted to back out.  This story has been floating around for a while and describes what will be a common for every American now that we are in 2014.

JIM MEIER OSP PROJECT ENGINEER
Fort Myers Fl. 33903

RE: OBAMACARE A comment posted on the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare FB page:

“I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 AM. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually. I chose tier 2 “Silver Plan” and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I “opt-out” and chose to continue along with no insurance. I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. Informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the “REPERCUSSIONS PORTION” for “non-payment” of yearly fine. First, your driver’s license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with “Non-Payment” and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy “Automatically withdraw” your “penalties” weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is “Free” or even “Affordable.”

Obamacare not only infiltrates a major portion of the American economy, but it roots itself deep into the lives of every tax paying citizen and will remain there so long as people permit such an intrusion.  Statists like Obama and his gang of government thugs are hoping and praying that they can get millions of people addicted to this new government “service” so that it can never be repealed.  They do not care about the 6 to 10 million people who are losing their current plans so long as those people are forced under severe coercion to enroll in one of these government plans.  Obama’s people know that all those people who have lost their plans will HAVE to sign up for their plan because they have the authority of law at their back and will take your driver’s license, they will take your house, they will fine you through payroll deduction and steal your money right out of your pockets—because they can—because they voted themselves the power to theft—to steal the money of American citizens and give it to drug addicts, fatherless homes bulging with welfare babies, and common criminals who otherwise would not have insurance.  The federal US Government is promoting scum bags and harming the productive and they are doing it on purpose.  Their attack on America through the medical insurance industry is on purpose—it is calculated and aggressive.

As it can be seen from the scenario illuminated by Jim Meier the affluent golf club member who has supplied excellent health insurance for his family for decades could suddenly be thrown in jail like a common criminal if he refuses to comply with Obamacare mandates purchasing insurance plans picked by the government designed to pay for abortions, and reckless living by people who intentionally make bad decisions in their lives.  While those people thrive under government support stolen from people like the golf club member, the affluent man will rot in jail treated as a criminal because he dared to question the authority of a tyrannical government.  If the man does not end up in jail he will be picked clean of his wealth through fines, fees, and insurance premiums because of his ability to pay.

Obamacare is socialism at best—but likely it would be communism if proposed under the U.S.S.R during the middle of the Twentieth Century.  It is under tyrannical regimes that Obamacare belongs and is indicative.  It has nothing to do with affordable care except for people who lack ambition to begin with and crave the security blanket of government built by stolen wealth.  It is the creation of a little boy from Jakarta who grew up hating the West, raised by grandparents who leaned toward communism as a political philosophy, and was nurtured into politics by the American terrorist Bill Ayers.  That little boy is now president rubbing the token of Lord Hanuman in his pocket, empowered by a slew of old hippies who now serve as congressman, and senators hiding the fact that Obamacare would be a new tax instead of an attempt to help equalize the medical insurance industry.

Obamacare is terrorism.  There is no sugar-coating which can disguise the fact.  It is an assault, and it is vile.  It has no place in a free society—as it will be everything but a semblance of independence, free markets, or free will.  It is thuggish coercion of the utmost imposition, it is dangerous, and it is designed to destroy America as a nation.  It is the terrorism of Bill Ayers designed to implode the economy of an “imperialistic” nation as conceived by haters of America—of which Barack Obama seems to have a history of supporting.

That leaves the question………………why is it still a law?

If there is any wonder why this law is so bad, vile, and flat-out corrupt read the article at the following link for more information:

Mara Jade in Disney’s ‘Rebels’: Advice for Ted Stevenot

Yes John Kasich will be challenged for the Ohio governor seat, yes Obamacare will face many challenges in 2014, yes the Senate is up for grabs, yes there are major rifts in the Republican Party, and yes public education is guilty of training the mass of society into collectivism. However those are things that were set in motion many years ago—and were covered here at Overmanwarrior’s Wisdom pointing to this grand fortissimo of cultural events—but these are just the beginning notes of that movement and the next portion of that symphony will not come from politics but art.  Politics does not drive culture it reacts to it.  Art however does drive culture and when I cover artistic efforts with superior footing to political ones, this is the reason why.  Personally it is for this reason that I am so excited about the new Disney program coming up in the fall on their XD channel called Star Wars: Rebels.  Listen to the executive producer Simeon Kinsberg discuss his motivations for the show intended for children—but extremely relevant to adults.

As stated previously, mythology in the rock, paper, scissors game of world culture beats politics or popular fashion because it is the foundation of those beliefs.  In not just America, but throughout the world are an entire generation of disgruntled young people who have watched previous generations of adults rob them of their future with massive debt, wrecked health care, educational opportunities that have not manifested into profit, and a lifestyle less vigorous than that of their parents.  For them, and their children, the new Star Wars dynasty beginning with Rebels will permeate deep into their consciousness and my point of bringing it up is so that the kind of people who read here regularly can take note and act upon it.

There are two better than rumored female characters in the upcoming Rebels which will resound powerfully through the myths of our society which will carry well beyond common cartoon shows.  Ahsoka Tano will be back after her departure from the Clone Wars and perform her duties as a Rebel Pilot in the fledgling young Rebellion.  And more notable will be Mara Jade who will be a young girl serving as the Emperor’s Hand as the Empire rises to power.

Mara in the future of the Star Wars saga was the wife of Luke Skywalker, was killed by Han and Leia Solo’s son Jacen, and gave birth to a son named Ben who will reportedly be in the new films by Disney in 2015.  It was also Mara who trained Jaina Solo to be a Jedi Knight who and will be the star of the new film series as the Sword of the Jedi.  Mara plays a significant roll in the overall mythology and will be present in the upcoming Rebels which will cover her origin story.

Lucasfilm is not a political company.  Most of their employees probably voted for Obama over Romney—but they are deeply philosophical.  They have at their disposal at Skywalker Ranch a treasure trove of books from around the world to expand the Star Wars mythology which centers on the struggle of individuals over statist control from dictators.  That premise to a story makes Star Wars important in that the story helps people see how those tyrannical forces come into their lives in various forms.  I have no doubt that Rebels will do this for millions of young people and millions of people who are over 30—and will grudgingly admit that they will be watching the new television show.  Once human beings learn to identify where troubles begin in their lives through mythology they will desire to take actions against those troubles.  For many, my friend Doc Thompson at The Blaze will offer an alternative to the statist offerings they currently have in the media.  I often refer to The Blaze as “Rebel” radio.  Glenn Beck is preaching in the real world much what Mon Mothma and Bail Organa will preach in the upcoming Disney show, Rebels.  The producer has said that one of his primary inspirations is the American Revolution and this will take minds to that real life rebellion as they learn to see the same signs.  Rebels as a work of art and fiction will provide a palette of context to the real life struggles we are all dealing with from all political fronts.

As I look through the history of such endeavors I can think of no time in entertainment history where this kind of high-profile television show offered this kind of content.  What comes to mind are the old Disney shows like Johnny Tremain and Davy Crockett.  But those were shows dealing with the past, Star Wars is both the past and the future and has more power because of it.  Star Wars has the power to communicate values to several generations as very high quality family entertainment that will get discussions started.  If our present society is lacking value because the art we live by has focused on exposed female breasts, silly adolescent jokes, and other forms of didactic pornography, our culture mirrors those aspects presently.  Lucasfilm owned by Disney is about to present a show to the world through a simple cartoon which will be beaming with value—value that people will gobble up like parched desert travelers deprived three days of water.

I speak to people at all levels in the gaming community, and I speak to people at all levels of politics—and I’m declaring that the former is more powerful than the later.  There is a pent-up energy looking for release.  Companies like Disney can take that pent-up energy and convert it to dollars through merchandise sales—which helps expand the overall mythology.  But what is more interesting is why the merchandise sells—why there is an excitement for the new Star Wars: Rebels action figures that will be sold at Target and Wal-Mart.  The reason why grown adults are already saving their money to add these little trinkets to their already vast Star Wars collection is because the overall story speaks to them about things that are otherwise beyond their control.  These people typically don’t vote, or might otherwise call themselves political independents.  But they can be motivated to do so if the message taps in to their already curious minds.

Rand Paul………….are you listening?  Ted Stevenot, President of the Ohio Liberty Coalition and challenger to John Kasich, are you seeing the wave that I’m pointing at?  There is a wave deep at sea that nobody sees coming ashore yet, but when it arrives a skilled surfer can ride that wave with careful timing.  I’m pointing to that timing.  Culture drives that timing—entertainment drives culture.  Lucasfilm is providing a valuable entertainment that will not only provide values to a new generation—politically neutral values—but resolutely values against statism.  With those values voters will be looking for someone in politics who beholds similar values.  Take note, and act upon them—and good things will happen.  It doesn’t mean that candidates need to start quoting Star Wars lines on the campaign trail, but that they need to take note of why Star Wars is so popular, why people want to spend so much money on it, and to utilize those methods in reality as politicians.  They should strive to be politicians like Mon Mothma and Bail Organa and not like Governor Tarkin, and Emperor Palpatine.  The reason Star Wars is so popular is because such characters do not exist in real life—and people wish they did.

A failure to be heroic, bold, or project the values of a political rebel will lead to more of the kind of dysfunction that we’ve had—and nobody wants that.  Don’t look at what politicians have been doing for centuries—look at what entertainment is doing and tap into the same reasons that people a year in advance are willing to plop down $10 bucks on a new Rebels Star Wars action figure.  Once those two things are aligned, our society will benefit greatly in a new direction that will be a lot different from our current system.

Meanwhile, I am very much looking forward to watching the back story of Mara Jade in the new Star Wars: Rebels television program on Disney XD.  And I’m even more looking forward to Ted Stevenot challenging Governor Kasich in the upcoming primary for Ohio governor.  Both are rebels, one is fictional, one is from the actual world, but both speak to the heart of an ideal that is deep in the human consciousness—bold changes are necessary when tyranny is afoot—and when those times occur, it is time for “rebels” to throw off the old and make way for the new.

Mos Eisley Radio: Mary Poppins, X-Wing Miniatures, Galactic Starfighter and the burdens of life

imageGenerally when I offer myself as a front man my policy is that I don’t do committees, I don’t solicit opinions, and I expect people to do what I say without question.  If people, political organizations, or companies want success they can hook a chain to my star and I’ll take them where they want to go—and presently there are a lot of chains hooked to my star from those agreeing to those terms and expecting me to take them to their desired destination.  At 46 years of age, naturally now that the word has gotten out about some of my abilities, 2014 is shaping up to be the most pressure oriented year I’ve ever had.  I’ve never before dragged along so much hooked to me as I presently am, yet I fully expect such weights to not hinder my star’s trajectory.  One way I do that is to give my mind frequent rests to balance out the intense weight it otherwise would be encumbered with.  I thought it curious during this latest Holiday Season that two films, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and the Disney film Saving Mr. Banks both feature authors who were very much in love with the characters they created because it provided them with a secondary world which they created to reason things out.  I understand Tolkien’s apprehension to allow his work to be commercially shared, and even more drastic was the story of P.L. Travers who authored Mary Poppins.  Both authors confessed somewhat to using their stories as personal playgrounds of thought and were very protective over those worlds.  I can relate, my characters in my books, Fletcher Finnegan and Rick Stevens are very much creations of the same design for me—which is a work currently unfolding as my life shoots through the sky with the lives of many chained to it.  Disney did much the same with his Mickey Mouse, and of course there is George Lucas who guarded his Star Wars franchise more resoundly than anybody mentioned above.  Money is not the motive for any of the people mentioned—that comes later—it’s about the preservation of that secondary world—a world where the mind can vacation and relax where things make much more sense.  Personally for me, when the pressure is as intense as it is right now the way I deal with the real world most effectively is to spend as much time as possible in a secondary world to give my mind the needed downtime allowing it to be more efficient.  Vacations to Disney World, the creation of Uncle Walt is one of the ways I most enjoy a secondary world created by someone else.  Another is Star Wars, not just the movies, books, comics and any other little media tidbit—but the games, the new Galactic Starfighter, and the object of much obsession, X-Wing Miniatures.  Both of these games are discussed by the guys at Mos Eisley Radio’s Even Lewis and Leo Andrie—and to learn about both, listen to this broadcast.  They cover a lot of ground, but I think Leo’s opinions about X-Wing Miniatures most reflect my own—I simply love the game—I love that secondary world because it makes sense to me more than anything else presently can.

Leo and Even did that broadcast prior to the release of Galactic Starfighter, so I can add to the report that as much as I love X-Wing Miniatures, Galactic Starfighter does the same thing for me, only the delight is much more immediate.  The computer combat flight simulator like PVP forum on Star Wars: The Old Republic is simply obsessive fun for me.  My wife and I have now played hundreds, perhaps even over a thousand matches over the last three weeks, and it is an absolute blast.  It takes all the action and strategy of X-Wing Miniatures and plays it out in real-time.  My wife oddly enough is topping the leaderboards nearly every match with her gunship.  I am less consistent—depending on who is playing.  When average players are against us, I typically join her at the top of the leaderboards with 5 to 10 kills per match in my Flashfire scout ship—which is like flying a kite that is very underpowered.  It doesn’t hit very hard and can’t take much abuse, but I use it because of the tremendous speed it has.   However, when elite players are on the other side, my job is to harass them and keep them uncomfortable—(kind of like real life) and my kill ratio goes down considerably.  The reason is to keep them busy while the other members of our team capture the satellite points.  I can’t say enough about the game.  It is truly an amazing time we live in.  My wife flies her ship on a computer right next to me.  We speak to each other like two pilots in a fire fight only the information going back and forth from the BioWare servers from her computer to the host and back to mine, and vice versa—then to all the other players 12 on our team, 12 on the opposing side is just an amazing feat.  A lot of people who play online games like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto are used to these forums, which is a few years old, but at my age I remember a time when all this was just a distant fantasy.  I remember a day when I worked all summer cutting grass so that I could purchase a $79 film role of Star Wars for a projector that I didn’t have and the reel didn’t even have sound. So modern DVDs and Blue Rays are amazing to me even after a decade of use—but the online gaming experience of Galactic Starfighter is simply stunning.  I can’t get enough of it.image

However, the computer game is something my wife and I can share with a few other people on our team, but when it comes to a tabletop game that an entire family can experience—or something that can be shared at conventions, comic book stores, and other very creative formats of existing secondary worlds X-Wing Miniatures is infinitely intriguing to me.  If you did not listen to the above video broadcast from Even and Leo please do so if any of this is remotely interesting.  Leo is a huge gaming nerd in all the wonderful ways that those people are full of imagination and hope—and his thoughts about X-Wing Miniatures reflects my own.  He has played many of the big games from the past, The Magic The Gathering and those types of things—and is presently obsessed with X-Wing Miniatures attending tournaments all over America.  And I totally get it.image

By looking at the pictures here of a match my family had during Boxing Day (the day after Christmas at my kid’s house) it is easy to see how we took a dining room table and made a battlefield out of it.  The strategies are very similar to Galactic Starfighter—the video game, but I find the slower pace and deeper strategies of X-Wing Miniatures to be infinitely more rewarding.   There is a freedom of movement that is simply amazing—every inch of the 3’X3’ game mat is up for grabs strategically—and that is very attractive to me.  But more so is the way the game allows you to visit this secondary world of Star Wars with the shared experience of family and friends on a group level.  In the game showed in the pictures it was a very tight match which went on for over an hour and it came down to a final dice roll of two evasion dice—which was highly unlikely—but occurred. It was a literal cliffhanger, and all our hearts were beating furiously at the end—both the winning and losing side—and I can’t think of too many activities that can be done around a kitchen table which provokes that kind of reaction.  It is blistering fun!image

I have several hundred dollars invested in the game from what is seen in the pictures.  That investment will easily excel into the thousands during 2014 and 2015.  As Leo mentioned in the Mos Eisley Radio broadcast the big excitement of 2014 will be the expansion packs of the Imperial Aces featuring two specially painted TIE Advanced ships, the massive Tantive IV CR90 corvette which looks spectacularly stunning, and the Rebel GR-75 medium transport.  Fantasy Flight Games who publishes X-Wing Miniatures has already produced something special even without these 2014 announcements.  If all they created were what has been seen through the first three waves of release, the Millennium Falcon from Wave 2 and now a ship I use all the time, the HWK-290,  (CLICK HERE TO READ SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THIS SHIP) I’d be content.  But Fantasy Flight Games is only getting stronger as time moves on—making the game constantly more complex and dynamic.  They are introducing a whole new play formatted called Cinematic Play which will specifically involve these larger ships on a much greater table top.  And in tournaments, they are introducing the Epic tournament format which will allow players to field ships of all sizes in massive battles that will echo thought the Star Wars universe.  In the game’s Epic format the Rebel transport can support the efforts of a squad with its frequency jammer, and the Tantive IV can fire its powerful lasers against opponent’s TIEs.  These mentioned items are not part of Wave 4 which hasn’t even been announced yet.  One can only speculate about what those ships will entail and new playing options that will come with them.  2014 will be a very exciting year for X-Wing Miniatures.image

I wish sometimes that I didn’t have such a complicated life with so many hooked to my star.  There are many days that I would love to be able to travel around and have the kind of free time that Leo does attending tournaments for X-Wing Miniatures.  I would be a very happy person with a table full of X-Wing ships and a pizza from LaRosa’s sitting on a nearby counter playing all day every day for the rest of my life.  That secondary world of Star Wars as it is specifically translated in that particular game is such an effective living mythology that it exceeds my personal creations.  I understand how P.L. Travers felt about Mary Poppins, and how Tolkien felt about Middle-earth, because I feel the same way about my own creations.  But when it comes to these Star Wars games, that secondary world smartly has been expanded in a unique way that Walt Disney—the new owners of Star Wars and the former owner, George Lucas have nurtured for decades.  P.L. Travers had a nervous breakdown at the premier of Mary Poppins because of the dancing penguins, and the portrayal of Mr. Banks who was essentially her father.  Lucas has allowed other independent minds to help shape his secondary world in a way that has held back Tolkien and Travers work in the past.  If The Old Republic had to get George Lucas to approve every addition to that world, it would have been stunted.  Even more so with X-Wing Miniatures, that game is great because as Leo and Even stated the game makes great use of the Expanded Universe—aspects of the Star Wars mythology that was created by the novels, comics and television shows by people only remotely guided by George Lucas with a thumbs up or thumbs down—and that is what makes this secondary world of gaming such an incredibly rich experience.  It takes an individual to drive the visions forward, but it also takes knowing when to let things go so the creations can take off on their own and flourish—kind of like raising children.  X-Wing Miniatures is the product of a successful metaphorical child of Star Wars and an offering into a secondary world that can hold a lot of excess pressure.  It does for me.image

I know my readers here want to see more fire and brimstone from me, and they will get it.  I feel the tug of those chains upon my star and I don’t complain.  I offer the free ride to see how much I can pull without it destroying me—because I want to know where my limits are—and I have not yet found them in my life.  But I do feel the pressure, and the way I cope with it is to become involved in these kinds of secondary world activities as the primary world is full of burden.  I play at real life like I’m playing a game—it takes the edge of the bitter realization that life is not a game, decisions are final, but chances must be taken to advance ideals.  By playing games for recreation, one can sort of work out what is a successful strategy and what isn’t.  Starting off a New Year, I enjoy thinking about these kinds of things, so I do it for myself more than anything—but I share it in case anybody wants to learn a thing or two about stress management.  At times like this I often would not mind having a simple nondescript job at some fast-food restaurant where I could live the life of Leo attending X-Wing tournaments all the time free of those chains dragging behind.  But I am grateful to have the release of these types of games in a time when I need them for my own sanity.  I have found that the more I utilize these things in my life, the more I can carry as my star shoots across the sky, and the many that are dragging behind hooked to it by my invitation will succeed.

Dol Guldur: Spitting in the eye of evil

As some may be mystified when I make a lot to do about certain types of movies and I rate them exquisitely high, and then seemingly trail off into a different more contemporary direction for the next series of writings, there is a good reason for it.  My wife and I have a number of hobbies we share together, she does a lot of personal crafts–and reads a lot, I read, write, and practice bullwhips—but one thing that we share intensely is a study of evil and the various forms it takes in society.  We have intense discussions about parallel universes, and the numbers for infinity contemplating how evil manifests between dimensional planes and grabs lives into this little four-dimensional space we all share on earth.  We make a point to see how evil burrows its way between the lines of reality like the roots of weeds and finds its way around a sidewalk brick and goes around solid objects rather than through them.  I have often compared our waking world to a 24 frame per second movie—what we view we accept as our reality—however we are really witnessing 24 independent pictures per second which our mind paints together into a functioning comprehension.  What exists between frames 18 to 19 or 20 and 21 is a black empty bar separating the pictures from one another which our minds ignore so that we can accept the reality presented in the framed pictures.  Often evil lives and comes into our lives in those black spaces, it comes into our minds because we cannot behold two separate realities presented on the same metaphorical film strip at the same time—so we often accept the pleasant pictures of existence rather than try to understand what isn’t so pleasant.  It is in that understanding that my wife and I share an intense passion and also gives insight into a world that is acting upon us—but is otherwise invisible.

Religion for me limits this exploration.  I enjoy the magnitude of Biblical study and other religious examination into the roots of evil—primarily through mythology, folklore, and philosophy.  But mankind’s explorations into evil did not stop in the Dark Ages when many of the religious texts of the world were surmised.  They continue—even more so today than ever before in the realm of fiction.  It is highly likely that in the distant future once the dust settles on the ages a bit that literary classics like J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion will become religions onto themselves—perhaps 2000 to 3000 years in the future.  It should be noted that Tolkien considered himself a Christian, but had a deep need to understand the nature of evil as he witnessed it during two World Wars—so he invented a mythology that could explore evil in a way that the old mythology of Satan from The Bible did not go far enough.  The desire of any modern society to focus the minds of mankind on ancient traditions and mythologies is so that emotional distance can be maintained between one age now gone and harmless and the new one where much is at stake and power is to be had.  So long as the functioning myths of a society are on events 2000 years ago people generally do not see what is happening to them in the world of today as their focus is adrift.  But in modern stories like the contemporary Hobbit, writers like Tolkien have tackled that problem directly with the type of story that can be directly applied from Middle-earth, to modern existence.

In the film The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Gandalf discovers Black Speech graffiti imprinted on an old ruin, coinciding with a telepathic message from Galadriel imploring him to investigate the tombs of the Nazgul.  When Peter Jackson went off on this subplot as the film’s director it has drawn a critical response from Tolkien purists who don’t feel that the work of The Simarillion should be included in the film adaption of The Hobbit.  But Jackson did it anyway and I’m very happy that he did because it turned out for me to be one of the most intensely enjoyable parts of the film.  Once the three Hobbit films are complete Jackson will have correctly connected the Lord of the Rings trilogy together with The Hobbit in a way that Tolkien didn’t live long enough to do, and that will bring the work to a new audience, which is of utmost importance.  Once at the tomb Gandalf discovers that the Nazgûl have been revived by their one true master.  This prompts Gandalf to visit the ruins of Dol Guldur which he discovers appears to be dilapidated beyond refute.  But this is only an illusion as a spell has been cast over the place to keep its true form from being noticed by the outside world as a mounting army led by the ancient evil form of Sauron—who in this film is a Necromancer—a disembodied spirit organizing events in the world for his triumphant return as the one world ruler.  The spell is meant to disguise these efforts so that they cannot be stopped while the rising evil is still vulnerable.  The Necromancer confronts the solitary Gandalf and tells him that there is no light in the world that can stop darkness, which then provokes an epic battle of which Gandalf is not quite prepared to deal with.

The cosmological myth prefixed to The Silmarillion explains how the supreme being Eru initiated his creation by bringing into being innumerable spirits, “the offspring of his thought,” who were with him before anything else had been made. The being later known as Sauron thus originated as an “immortal (angelic) spirit.”[5] In his origin, Sauron therefore perceived the Creator directly. As Tolkien noted: “Sauron could not, of course, be a ‘sincere’ atheist. Though one of the minor spirits created before the world, he knew Eru, according to his measure.”[6]

In the terminology of Tolkien’s invented language of Quenya, these angelic spirits were called Ainur. Those who entered the physical world were called Valar, especially the most powerful ones. The lesser beings who entered the world, of whom Sauron was one, were called Maiar.  In Tolkien’s letters, the author noted that Sauron “was of course a ‘divine‘ person (in the terms of this mythology; a lesser member of the race of Valar).”[7] Though less mighty than the chief Valar, he was more powerful than many of his fellow Maiar; Tolkien noted that he was of a “far higher order” than the Maiar who later came to Middle-earth as the Wizards Gandalf and Saruman.[8] As created by Eru, the Ainur were all good and uncorrupt, as Elrond stated in The Lord of the Rings: “Nothing is evil in the beginning. Even Sauron was not so.”[9]

The Nazgûl (from Black Speech nazg, “ring”, and gûl, “wraith, spirit” (presumably related togul, “sorcery”); also called Ringwraiths, Ring-wraiths, Black Riders, Dark Riders, theNine Riders, or simply the Nine are fictional characters in J. R. R. Tolkien‘s Middle-earthlegendarium. They were nine Men who succumbed to Sauron‘s power and attained near-immortality as wraiths, servants bound to the power of the One Ring. They are first mentioned in The Lord of the Rings, originally published in 1954–1955. The book calls the Nazgûl Sauron’s “most terrible servants”.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazg%C3%BBl

After the success of The Hobbit, and prior to the publication of The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien’s publisher requested a sequel to The Hobbit, and Tolkien sent them an early draft of The Silmarillion. But through a misunderstanding, the publisher rejected the draft without fully reading it, with the result that Tolkien began work on “A Long Expected Party”, the first chapter of what he described at the time as “a new story about Hobbits“, which became The Lord of the Rings.[2]

The Silmarillion comprises five parts. The first part, Ainulindalë, tells of the creation of Eä, the “world that is“. Valaquenta, the second part, gives a description of the Valar and Maiar, the supernatural powers in Eä. The next section, Quenta Silmarillion, which forms the bulk of the collection, chronicles the history of the events before and during the First Age, including the wars over the Silmarils which gave the book its title. The fourth part, Akallabêth, relates the history of the Downfall of Númenor and its people, which takes place in the Second Age. The final part, Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age, is a brief account of the circumstances which led to and were presented in The Lord of the Rings.

According to Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, the Nazgûl arose as Sauron’s most powerful servants in the Second Age of Middle-earth. They were once mortal Men, three being “great lords” of Númenor. Sauron gave each of them one of nine Rings of Power. Ultimately, however, they were bound to the One Ring, and succumbed completely to its power and its seduction:

Those who used the Nine Rings became mighty in their day, kings, sorcerers, and warriors of old. They obtained glory and great wealth, yet it turned to their undoing. They had, as it seemed, unending life, yet life became unendurable to them. They could walk, if they would, unseen by all eyes in this world beneath the sun, and they could see things in worlds invisible to mortal men; but too often they beheld only the phantoms and delusions of Sauron. And one by one, sooner or later, according to their native strength and to the good or evil of their wills in the beginning, they fell under the thraldom of the ring that they bore and of the domination of the One which was Sauron’s. And they became forever invisible save to him that wore the Ruling Ring, and they entered into the realm of shadows. The Nazgûl were they, the Ringwraiths, the Úlairi, the Enemy’s most terrible servants; darkness went with them, and they cried with the voices of death. — The Silmarillion, “Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age”, 346

The corrupting effect of the rings extended the bearers’ earthly lives far beyond their normal lifespans. Some passages in the novel suggest that the Nazgûl wore their rings, while others suggest that Sauron actually held them.

In a letter from circa 1963 Tolkien says explicitly that Sauron held the rings:

They would have obeyed . . . any minor command of his that did not interfere with their errand — laid upon them by Sauron, who still through their nine rings (which he held) had primary control of their wills . . . — The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 246

They were by far the most powerful of his servants, and the most suitable for such a mission, since they were entirely enslaved to their Nine Rings, which he now himself held . . . — Unfinished Tales, p. 338

Tolkien’s world as it was portrayed in these massive volumes of work refers to a time on earth that has either long passed, or is in the distant future.  It is hard to know in geologic time when these events have transpired.  Robert Jordan in his Wheel of Time series took the work that Tolkien did several steps further and wrote 14 massive books, most of them the size of Lord of the Rings.  In those books he actually wrote about a period of human history where man were once again regulated to horses and magic—but this was thousands of years after skyscrapers and flying cars, a society hundreds of years ahead of our present time.  Society had risen and fallen and went through a rebirth phase—and this appears to be a possibility with the Tolkien work.

In our contemporary time we consider ourselves so sophisticated with our history, our educations, our iPhones, the internet, and modern weaponry, but we are infants looking at just a few frames of film and reality is much more than that.  It isn’t hard to see contemporary evidence of the events discussed above happening in the real world around us every single day.  However, in order to see them we need a kind of translation of what is happening between those frames of film in our lives—a way to understand them.  Tolkien has offered that, and Peter Jackson has provided a proper interpretation in a visual medium that is very powerful, and reaches a lot of people.  But evil is very real.  We see it and deal with it every day, and it is not enough to pray for help to an interpretation of a God understood thousands of years ago and shaped by centuries of power-hungry churches and empires demanding compliant citizens broken easily by force and faith.  Evil must be confronted directly, and we must piss in its eye and eradicate it from our lives the best we can—and before we do that—we must be able to see it, feel it, and touch it.  Like Sauron’s stronghold Dol Guldur, the “Hill of Sorcery” the real nature of evil is hidden from our eyes.  Study the reason for any public relations firm, and the practical function of them.  They are primarily designed to deceive our eyes and minds away from the facts and to direct our attention away from the vile tasks that often accompany their clients.  Study how this effect works in public schools and it will be easy to identify that there is a Dol Guldur in each of our communities spreading evil right under our noses, blinding our eyes to a truth that we cannot completely see.  CLICK HERE FOR REAL WORLD PROOF OF THIS PHENOMENON.

As I left the movie with my family after the second Hobbit film ended I listened to the people leaving and later read some of the reviews.  The assumption was that Peter Jackson was working purely for profit as Warner Brother execs wanted three billion dollar films out of the relatively small novel, The Hobbit—and Jackson was stretching things.  Without question that was Warner Brother’s hope, and who could blame them.  But Jackson saw a chance to make The Hobbit into what Tolkien likely would have wanted to do in 1937, but had not flushed it all out yet.  Jackson simply combined the life work of Tolkien’s study on the nature of evil and put it into three massive three-hour films, two of which are completed at this time.  Evil is more studied today than at any point in human history—the book stores are filled with the confrontation between good and evil—it is the central theme of our age.  Yet, we are told by modern society that value judgments against evil should not be made—that we should accept those different from us—and when I hear such things—I see the shroud which protected Dol Guldur from the prying eyes of the outside world.  And like Gandalf I poke and pry at those barriers because I suspect that evil is hiding behind such facades—and 9.999999999 times out of 10, I am right.  It is not because of magic that I’m often right about these things, it is because my wife and I have a habit hobby of defining evil and spotting it from afar the way some people watch birds, or weather patterns.  We enjoy it, and are always looking for where it conceals itself.  And part of the way we fulfill that enterprise is by studying the various forms that fiction writers of modern myth have used to discover the metaphorical Dol Guldur’s of our lives—those frames around the film that we cannot register, but know are there.

When I witness an honest attempt to confront these problems I tend to get very excited not because what is seen, but what is not.  The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug taken by itself as an action/fantasy film is decent fun. The effects are sometimes over-the-top, and silly, but the story is not about those things.  The ultimate theme of the stories of Tolkien was an exploration of evil and the proper way to meet it with a happy productive life untouched by such forces.  It is in this achievement that The Desolation of Smaug is an epic masterpiece that is heads and shoulders above everything else done like it—and the reason it will endure not just for years—but millenniums.

Unlike the fantasy world of Tolkien and his modern version of The Devil in Sauron, it is highly unlikely that only one such creature would evolve into such a state of evil over such a vast span of time, but many.  For the context of a story only one such evil can exist otherwise there would be no real narrative flow.  As my wife and I believe, there are thousands of Sauron’s in the real world every one of them just as bad as all the others.  They may not have magic and sorcery in their arsenal of tools the way these fictional characters do, but they have other tools, and they use them.  It is against those that we have a continued and enduring fight, and like Gandalf’s fight against the Necromancer at Dol Guldur it often feels like a tiny light surrounded by constant darkness.  Gandalf’s response and valiant fight is why someone like he should be President of the United States and take such thrones of power away from the many who function from evil and desire with every sign of life in the smallest cells of their bodies to touch the One Power of Sauron.  They desire such power for all the reasons that evil has ever spread over the lives of man—to be admired, and to shape one’s own destiny.  Evil often hides itself behind illusions the same as the one that shrouded Dol Guldur—and only films like The Desolation of Smaug attempt to portray such a thing.  So when a film does such a thing successfully, I give it an ambitious review not so much for the content and quality of the film, but for looking evil in the eye and giving it a form that people can relate to—so that they can confront it, and defeat it.  And before evil can even be confronted, a firm understanding or right and wrong, good and bad, light and dark and the vileness of evil must be understood clearly.   The living world is all about pairs of opposites, death is about unification.  In the living world choices must be made—light or darkness—good or evil—one team against the other.  There is no other way.
